WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, is rolling out four new features that will improve the user experience. The new features include:
These new features are available to beta testers for now but will be rolled out to more users over the coming weeks.
Silence Unknown Callers
The Silence Unknown Callers feature is a great way to limit spam calls and protect your privacy. When this feature is enabled, WhatsApp will automatically send unknown callers to voicemail. This means that you won’t have to see or hear any notifications from unknown callers.
To enable this feature, go to Privacy > Calls and toggle on Silence Unknown Callers.
Group Mentions
The Group Mentions feature is a great way for community admins to highlight groups when sending a message to community members. When you mention a group in a message, all members of the group will be notified. This is a great way to get everyone’s attention or to ask a question to the group as a whole.
To mention a group, type the group name followed by a space and then the message you want to send. For example, if you wanted to mention the group “My Friends,” you would type “My Friends ” followed by your message.
Community Entry Point
The Community Entry Point feature makes it easier for users to find and join communities. When this feature is enabled, there will be a new Community tab in the WhatsApp app. This tab will list all of the communities that you are a member of, as well as communities that you may be interested in joining.
To open a community group, tap on the Community tab and then tap on the name of the community you want to join.
Message Editing
The Message Editing feature is a great way to correct typos and mistakes. When this feature is enabled, you can edit text messages within 15 minutes of sending them. To edit a message, tap and hold on the message and then select Edit.
These new features are a great way to improve the user experience of WhatsApp. They will help users to limit spam calls, protect their privacy, and communicate more effectively.
