Remember when Pakistan beat India in the Champions Trophy and won the title of ‘World Champions’?

Remember how proud you felt at that moment, with your chest broadened with pride at those hard-working men who gave it everything they had for their country, for you?

We love our sportsmen when they are victorious when they accomplish the impossible, then why do we make fun of the same men in green who have made this nation proud? Such is an example of Shadab Khan.

He was one of the main assets Pakistan had against India to stay in the Champions Trophy and claim the title and award. However, after a girl had inboxed him and made conversation, the respected cricketer turned into a laughing stalk because of his English.

Soon, the troller got trolled himself!

  1. Download the Dolphin web browser to your iOS device.
  2. Open www.youtube.com in Dolphin.
  3. Navigate to the video you want to listen to and press play.
  4. Exit the Dolphin app and you’ll be able to resume playback from the iOS Control Center.

Android

  1. Open www.youtube.com in the Chrome browser.
  2. In the three-dot menu at the top right, check the “Request desktop site” box.
  3. Navigate to the video you want to listen to and press play.
  4. If you’re shown a warning saying YouTube wants to send you notifications, accept it.
  5. Exit the Chrome app and you’ll be able to resume playback from the notification menu.

Expo 2020 Dubai: 30,000 Volunteers Needed!

The most awaited Dubai Expo 2020 is gearing up and preparations for the grand event are well underway. A hunt for more than 30,000 volunteers has been launched who would be the ‘face’ of the largest global gathering in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.

The volunteers will be coming from various nationalities and backgrounds and will be playing an important role in the Expo. The task will include welcoming about 25 million visitors over the six-month-long event. 70% of visitors are to come from outside the UAE which is the largest proportion ever in the history of the expo.

 

Volunteer Roles 

Volunteers can participate in the events leading up to the Expo 2020 and also attend the brainstorming sessions which could have their ideas be included in the plans. This time’s Expo’s main theme is, ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’

There are more than 45 roles available for volunteers which include welcoming guests to managing events with about 16 million hours of work spread across 173 days. People who decide to volunteer will gain hands-on experience and exposure to such a ground-breaking event.

Reem Ebrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director-General of Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau commented on the event and the search for volunteers,

“Expo 2020 is a global event for everyone to learn, innovate, create, and have fun by sharing ideas and working together and we are proud to include opportunities for more than 30,000 volunteers from any age, nationality or background, reflecting the diversity of our Expo and our nation”

Najeeb Mohammad Al Ali, Executive Director, Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau also added,

“We will focus on attracting various groups of society, including university students, housewives, retirees, employees and people of determination. There will be opportunities for everyone, in line with Expo 2020’s theme”

Registration

The registration to become a volunteer at the Expo 2020 will begin online on Friday, 20th October 2017. The launch event will be held at The Beach at Jumeirah Beach Residence.

Baaghi Drama on Urdu1: Kanwal’s Breakdown Will Tug at the Heartstrings!

It is truly impossible not to get caught up and cry while watching Urdu1’s blockbuster drama ‘Baaghi’. With every passing episode, the tale is striking a chord even deeper with its stirring scenes and Saba Qamar’s fierce acting.

Surely, Baaghi is entertaining, dramatic and engaging. Inspired by Qandeel Baloch’s life, the drama makes us realize how hard it was for the social media sensation to survive in a world where her existence was shunned. She lived amongst people who tried to sabotage her, failed to understand her and branded her as a lunatic.

The last episode clearly showed how Kanwal felt dejected, alone and unwanted, seemingly fighting the depression of past events in her life.

She just can not get over the fact that her husband left her for another woman and even gave away her child to somebody else.

However, Kanwal did not shy away from being vocal about the injustices being done with women.

Her motto for life appears to be:

“ghalt baat nahin bardasht hoti mujh se”

While she is brazen and outspoken, Kanwal’s bold nature gets her into trouble. Every girl on the show isolates her and later, she is eliminated from the show.

Heartbroken, she returns to Rehan who advises her to follow what Gohar advised her to do. But the stubborn soul refused to kill her self-respect and is determined to use her voice to achieve her aim.

This time, she intends to sing and win hearts! And consequently, we will see her auditioning for Pakistan Idol in the next episode.

The last episode moved many viewers to tears!

Qandeel’s breakdown tugged at the heartstrings and Saba nailed it all with her intense acting.

T10 Cricket League Gets Pakistan Cricket Board’s Full Support!

The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Najam Sethi, has greenlit and has offered the PCB’s full support for the upcoming ICC approved and Emirates Cricket board sanctioned T10 Cricket League.

The Pakistan cricket boards involvement means that the T10 Cricket League will now feature Pakistan’s top players such as Shahid Afridi, Sarfraz Ahmed, Shoaib Malik, Mohammed Amir, Babar Azam, Ahmed Shehzad, Ruman Raees, Shoaib Malik, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammed Hafeez, Imad Wasim, Yasir Ali, Junaid Khan and the entire centrally contracted Pakistan Squad will be up for grabs in the upcoming T10 Cricket League Draft.

Speaking from his offices, Shaji Ul Mulk, Chairman of Mulk Holdings and T10 Cricket league said;

’’I am delighted to announce that the Pakistan Cricket Board has offered its full support and confirmed the release of the current centrally contracted players. On behalf of T10 management and Team owners and Emirates Cricket Board, I would like to offer special gratitude to PCB chairman Mr. Najam Sethi for his support to T10 Cricket League. We look forward to welcoming all fans to the first ever T10 Cricket League ’’

PCB’s involvement comes in light of other cricket boards sanctioning and approving the much talked about T10 Cricket league such as the Sri-lankan Cricket Board, Bangladesh Cricket Board, Emirates Cricket Board and Zimbabwe Cricket Board.

The attraction of Shahid Afridi and the strong lineup of centrally contracted players from Pakistan will add a whole new bang to the already much talked about 10 over format.

With a potential audience of over 1.4 Billion South Asian people, 90 minutes of action, 10 overs a side, star players, celebrities, performance shows, South Asian rivalries, performances after every over, drama and nail biting finishes it is bound to be crickets newest and hottest attraction

Salman Iqbal, president of the T10 Cricket League: “Pakistani cricketers are some of the most exciting players in the world with star following of millions of passionate fans. They will be an integral part of our leagues’ success. I would like to thank Mr. Sethi and the PCB for their support for the T10 cricket league and their progressive thinking towards the development of this game we all love!”

Also adding to the mix of T10 league list of current international players including Eoin Morgan captain of the England team, Shakib Al Hasan, Virender Sehwag and Sangakkara. The ‘cricketentainment’ will begin from the first ball!

Over 100 performers per match to entertain crowds, crowd interaction, player interaction, rivalries, over 20 celebrities in attendance every match, International players and cricketing action from the first ball!

Team captains and coaches will have to adjust to the new format by deploying new strategies and adapting to the league.

India’s Diwali Celebration: Grants Visas to Ailing Pakistanis

The cross-border tensions between India and Pakistan are forever running high. However, officials of both the nations always make efforts to bridge gaps and mend times, giving a message of love and peace in times of cut-throat rivalry.

In its latest movie, India has declared to grant as many as 16 medical visas to Pakistani nationals. 

As a goodwill gesture, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will be extending help to a number of critically ill patients to get visas for visiting India for treatment. 

This includes two visas for patients that require bone marrow transplants & a visa for five-year-toddler suffering from eye cancer.

Swaraj personally responded to the plea of every Pakistani who submitted their cases & requested her for a medical visa to India.

And she makes sure that each case is addressed promptly!

One Pakistani urged her to grant a visa to India as his child’s medicine was about to cease in the nation.

Truly, Sushma has a heart of gold and she replied to his appeal with such compassion!

This is not the first time the Indian minister has extended help to Pakistani nationals who eagerly awaiting medical visas from India.

Time and again, she has risen to support ailing Pakistani and has been taking a sympathetic approach in granting medical visas to Pakistani nationals, in spite of weak ties between India and Pakistan over a host of issues.

It is worth mentioning that even men are subjected to sexual harassment. Even they get abused and are vulnerable to sexual assault like women. Certainly, females have been the wronged sex for ages, but even men are on the receiving end of brutalities.

Hence, a lot of male public figures too jumped onto the #metoo bandwagon and shared their tales of torture to the world.

A call to Action!

It is important to realize that how much power a man has in this whole equation. 

For every lady that has survived sexual harassment, there is a man or men who have acted as a catalyst in violating a woman’s right.

Now, men are coming forward with their confession about sexual harassment with #itwasme.

However, there will still be a lot of guys who will remain silent about the role they have played in rape culture.

They still have not taken responsibility nor have intervened to end the epidemic of sexual assault

There is only so much a social media hashtag can do! While we may think that it can not create any major difference, it surely is a step in the right direction.

Consequently, women in Pakistan who are commonly hushed and suppressed to voice out their rights will feel empowered, motivated and even safe to speak the unspeakable.

Sources confirm that the Sanam Teri Kasam starlet has been roped in by MD Productions for a period drama called “Aangan” on HUM TV.

But even more exciting is the news that Mohammad Ehteshamuddin of Udaari fame will be the donning the director’s cap.

The complete cast has not been disclosed yet, but reports are that big-wigs of the industry will be coming together in the serial.

The drama will be based on a pre-partition era which surely means that it will be a big-budget project.

Mawra will have a never-seen-before look to don her versatile role. Ofcourse, she is thrilled to be a part of the ground-breaking venture that is being helmed by Ehteshamuddin!

Knife Attacker Strikes Again Despite Police Arrests

The ‘knife attacker’ has been giving Karachites nightmares since the recent weeks. With a growing number of women being stabbed by this unknown assailant, panic has stricken the city of lights.

There were reports yesterday that the attacker had been identified and arrested by the police authorities, however, there has been a report of another vicious attack on a young teenage girl in the vicinity of Federal B. Area that took place last night.

According to SSP Central, Irfan Ali Baloch, the girl has been identified to be aged around 14-15 years and was stabbed while traveling on a motorbike with her brother. The attack took place near the Askari Imambargah and it was reported that the suspect fled after stabbing the girl.

The teenager has sustained severe injuries to her back and was treated at a private hospital. The police were informed about the attack and are carrying out an investigation, however, the weapon used in the incident has not been identified as yet.

A special squad of the Karachi police lead by District Korangi SSP Captain (retd) Haider Raza reported yesterday that they had succeeded in catching the criminal. Waseem was reportedly nabbed from Mandi Bahauddin in Punjab.

DIG Dr. Jameel said:

WASEEM HAS BEEN ARRESTED BY SAHIWAL POLICE. HOWEVER, IT WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT FOR KARACHI POLICE TO COLLECT SUBSTANTIAL EVIDENCE. WASEEM SPENT VERY LITTLE TIME IN KARACHI.

However, no further details were revealed in regard to his identity and the reason behind the attacks.

A massive total of 16 women have been hurt in the last 3 weeks in these attacks. All of these ladies were attacked by the perpetrator with a  supposedly sharp object.

It is now unsure whether the actual suspect held accountable for all these attacks has been arrested or not.

Pakistan Dairy Association Prove that Tea Whiteners are Absolutely Safe!

Representatives of Pakistan Dairy Association (PDA) met with Senate Standing Committee on Science & Technology on Monday and gave presentation to clear misconceptions associated with tea whiteners.

PDA members explained that tea or coffee whiteners are established category across several advance countries for years and comply with international food laws. In Pakistan Tea whitener’s category is also compliant with Pakistan Standards laid down by (PSQCA) Pakistan Standard and Quality Control Authority.

Hence tea whiteners are free of any chemicals or harmful substances and completely safe for tea and coffee making. They said that tea whiteners are manufactured and sold by large responsible corporates who not only ensure the highest quality standards in manufacturing, but who also work to uplift the livelihoods of the farmers and rural communities.

Director General and Chairman National Standards Committee of PSQCA also presented the Pakistan standards which are in harmony with international standards and are based on scientific evidence. They reiterated that tea whiteners are actually a healthy option which best serves the market need.

Senior technical experts namely Prof. Dr. Javaid Aziz Awan Ex-Chairman Dept. of Food Technology and Prof. Dr. Tahir Zahoor Director General National Institute of Food Science & Technology representing Pakistan Society of Food Scientist and Technologists were invited by Senate Standing Committee to give their independent technical and scientific view on the standards and safety of tea whiteners.

Both the scholars reiterated the fact that tea whiteners are specialized products meant for tea creaming and having milk solid and vegetable fats. They also explained the forum that Vegetable fats is a healthy option as it contains no cholesterol and it adds stability to end product.

Standing Committee members said:

“We have had detailed presentation on tea whiteners by PDA members. We are well satisfied and also now we have much improved understanding over the recipe and composition of tea whiteners along with scientific evidence and other international standards. Undoubtedly Tea whiteners are suitable alternative for tea creaming and it’s also a healthy choice.”

The senate standing committee also discussed harmonization of standards nationally, as well as a minimum pasteurization law in the future.

Pakistani Celebrities Mourn the Death of Roomi Insha

October seems to be an ill-fated month for Pakistan’s entertainment industry. Not only we lost the iconic gem of 90’s Nusrat Ara aka Bill Batori of Ainak Wala Jin Fame, the nation also bid farewell to Roomi Insha, son of the literary Urdu veteran, Ibne Insha.

The leading drama director passed away due to a heart attack on Monday. He was taken to the South City Hospital for treatment but couldn’t be revived.

Insha started his career as a graphic designer and was also a freelance filmmaker.

His famous projects included:

  4. Mohabbat Ruth Jaye Tou,
