The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that the highly anticipated Champions Trophy 2025 will remain in Pakistan, with no plans to relocate the tournament.

Despite recent rumors about a potential shift in venue, ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice has confirmed that the tournament will go ahead as planned in Pakistan.

During a media briefing in Dubai, Allardice addressed concerns about the tournament’s location and reassured everyone that there are no plans to relocate.

Pakistan, he said, is more than ready to host the prestigious event, and there’s been no hesitation from any participating teams about playing in the country.

Pakistan has been hard at work preparing for this major tournament. Iconic stadiums in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi are undergoing big renovations, with plans to upgrade them to international standards.

Kohli, Babar In One Team? Afro-Asia Cup Could Make It Happen!

Babar vs. Kohli: Ian Smith Weighs In on Cricket’s Hottest Debate
Babar vs. Kohli: Ian Smith Weighs In on Cricket’s Hottest Debate

Cricket fans in the subcontinent could be in for a treat in 2025, as two of the biggest names in the sport—India’s Virat Kohli and Pakistan’s Babar Azam—might find themselves playing together in the same team.

Yes, you read that right! The revival of the Afro-Asia Cup could turn this dream into reality, and cricket enthusiasts across the globe are already buzzing with excitement.

A Blast from the Past: The Afro-Asia Cup Returns?

Samod Damodar, the head of the African Cricket Association (ACA), recently hinted that the Afro-Asia Cup could make a return in 2025, under the leadership of Jay Shah, who is set to become the new ICC chairman in December 2024.

kohli-babar-in-one-team-afro-asia-cup-could-make-it-happen

If the tournament is revived, it would mark the return of an intercontinental cricket showdown that has been missing for over a decade. For those unfamiliar with the Afro-Asia Cup, it’s an exhibition tournament that brings together the best cricketers from Asia and Africa.

In its previous editions in 2005 and 2007, we saw legendary players like Shoaib Akhtar and Shahid Afridi team up with India’s Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid for the Asian XI, while players from South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Kenya formed the African XI.

The idea of players from rival nations like India and Pakistan sharing the same dressing room has always been a huge draw for fans. And now, with talks of the tournament returning in the T20 format, the possibility of seeing Kohli and Babar playing on the same side is closer than ever.

Why the Afro-Asia Cup Was Put on Hold?

Despite its popularity, the Afro-Asia Cup was shelved after just two editions due to broadcasting and political issues. Damodar expressed his disappointment over the tournament’s discontinuation, stating, “Personally, I am very hurt that it didn’t happen. Our members regret it. It needed to be pushed by Africa.”

It’s clear that the ACA never lost faith in the potential of the Afro-Asia Cup, and Damodar believes the return of the tournament could be a step toward reducing political tensions. “These matches could break down barriers that are there politically. Cricket can help build the bridges rather than burn it up,” he said, hoping the event could bring people closer together.

Will the Stars Align in 2025?

With Jay Shah soon to take the reins at the ICC, there’s renewed hope for the Afro-Asia Cup’s revival. The Afro-Asia Cup has the potential to become a platform for fostering camaraderie between nations that are often seen as rivals.

india-pakistan-t20-world-cup-ticket-prices-controversy

And for fans, the chance to see Kohli and Babar batting side by side—or a bowling attack featuring both Jasprit Bumrah and Shaheen Afridi—is nothing short of a fantasy come true.

Another exciting element is the potential switch from the ODI format to T20. With the rise of T20 leagues around the world, a T20 Afro-Asia Cup makes perfect sense in today’s cricket landscape. The shorter format promises fast-paced action, dramatic finishes, and of course, more room for star players to shine.

We can only hope that this tournament not only returns but thrives, bringing us closer together as a cricket-loving community. Until then, we’ll keep dreaming of that moment when Virat Kohli and Babar Azam walk out to bat as teammates, creating magic on the field together.

Everyday Habits That Could Be Causing Your Hair Loss

Woman hand hoding hairs fall in comb, hair fall everyday serious problem. Girl Hairs fall with a comb and problem hair isolated on white background

With age, hair loss is inevitable. Often, this time comes sooner if you get sick or your biotin levels are weak. Though losing hair can be frustrating, you don’t always know what may be the root cause of this loss. People have certain habits that affect the growth of their hair negatively. Today, we have curated a list of habits you may not have known were causing your hair to fall out.

  1. Using too Much Heat

This one may not be as much of a surprise as the others. It’s common knowledge that using heat damages your hair to the point it begins to fall out. The repeated use of heat can often damage your hair beyond repair causing significant hair loss.

2. Tight Hair Styles Cause Hair Loss

It is genuinely impossible to keep your hair open during the sticky and sweaty summer season. However, extremely tight hairstyles, such as high ponytails, can break a lot of your hair. The stretch weakens your hair follicles and eventually, they give up and fall.

3. Using Harsh Hair Products

Frequent use of products with chemicals like sulfates, parabens, and alcohol can strip your hair of its natural oils. This weakens the hair and makes it more prone to breaking and falling out. Without moisture, your hair becomes brittle. As a consequence, it breaks easily.

4. Poor Diet Causes Hair Loss

You indeed, are what you eat. By extension, your hair is what you eat. If you eat well, your hair is likely to be healthier than someone with a weak diet. Your hair requires ample nutrients from your diet. Maintaining a balanced diet is crucial for your hair’s health.

5. Stress

Surprisingly, not many are aware of the consequences stress has on your hair. Picking on your hair out of anxiety and plucking them is common for most stressful people. The act causes bold spots and intensive hair loss. Managing stress is essential for ensuring your hair is healthy and shiny.

These are some of the habits that cause hair loss. Preventing yourself from developing these can help give you healthy hair and your dream length.

The latest jab in the playful rivalry between Samsung and Apple has emerged on social media. This time, Samsung uses its X platform (formerly known as Twitter) to emphasize advancements in the foldable-phone arena, highlighting the fact that Apple has yet to break into this market.

A Friendly Knock on Competitor

The wisecrack follows Apple’s unveiling of the iPhone 16 series, supplemented by updates to AirPods and Apple Watches. Amid the hype from Apple enthusiasts, Samsung didn’t hesitate to point out that a foldable phone was noticeably absent from the new series. They recycled an earlier 2022 tweet, encapsulating their stance: “Still waiting…let us know when it folds. ”

Through this flippant remark, Samsung spotlights their progress in the foldable phone industry, with their Galaxy Z Fold5 standing out as a prime example. In contrast, Apple persists in solely producing traditional-style phones – a fact that Samsung never misses an opportunity to highlight.

Another Swipe at Apple’s Latest Feature

But Samsung did not at a single dig. also poked at the AI function pegged “Apple Intelligence”. In separate tweet, they insinuated that Apple’s experimentation may not meet enthusiasts’ lofty expectations with a tweet that reads, “You… we might have set your AI expectations too high. ”

Samsung regularly trades barbs with Apple publicly. One memorable instance is when Samsung responded to an iPad Pro ad by saving a guitar from a metaphorical hydraulic press wrecking art tools in Apple’s ad using Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, defiantly stating ‘Creativity cannot be crushed’.

Huawei Shakes Up The Game With Its $2,800 Mate XT Tri-Fold Phone

Source: GadgetMatch

Huawei elevated foldable phone technology with their Mate XT Ultimate, a trifold phone retailing for $2,800 (19,999 yuan). The unusual design and steep price create a buzz in tech circles. The triple-fold feature is new to the market, converting the device into a tablet-like form.

The Trifold Design: Altering the Game

Offering a distinct alternative to Samsung and Google’s single-hinge foldable phones, the Mate XT Ultimate has dual hinges. When opened up fully, the screen extends to 10.2 inches—almost iPad size. It can fold twice into a 7.9-inch display, or keep folding until it becomes a 6.4-inch phone. It adapts to different uses, being both a phone and tablet.

Apple rival Huawei debuts tri-fold smartphone Mate XT
Source: NY Post

During the release presentation, Huawei’s chairman Richard Yu made it clear that this phone lets you put a tablet in your pocket. His bold claim stands unchallenged – no company has brought such a trifold design to life yet.

Fine Specs, Steep Tag

The Mate XT Ultimate features ritzy specs to match its refined design. The mobile device boasts 16GB of RAM, additional storage up to 256GB for a higher, and a heavy-duty 5,600mAh battery. Targeting photography buffs, it offers a 50MP primary camera along with duo 12MP ultrawide and periscope lenses.

Weighing in at just 298 grams and a slim 3.6mm thickness when fully unrolled, the device is impressively lightweight for its dimensions. It employs an LTPO OLED display sporting a 120Hz refresh rate for fluid visuals. Bolstered by Huawei’s Tiangong hinge system—inspired by the Chinese space station—the mobile promises reliability for both internal and external flexing.

Event Timing and Hurdles

The unveiling of Huawei’s prize gadget—the Mate XT Ultimate—within hours of Apple’s iPhone 16 event is far from arbitrary. Routinely, Huawei exploits its product rollouts to counter U. S. sanctions and put down a marker in the international tech sector. However, rumours about this extravaganza phone suggest its unavailability outside China, coupled with a price point that rivals two high-end gaming computers. These factors indicate that it targets an exclusive market segment.

Kamran Akmal Criticizes Pakistan For Wasting Home Test Advantage

Kamran-Akmal-Pakistan-Home-Test-Advantage

Former Pakistan Test cricketer Kamran Akmal has spoken up, and his concerns hit right at the heart of Pakistan’s recent Test cricket struggles. With a tone of frustration and urgency, Akmal shed light on why Pakistan is failing to make the most of its home advantage and what needs to change in order to succeed in red-ball cricket.

Home Advantage Wasted

In a candid interview with a local news channel, Akmal did not mince his words when discussing Pakistan’s recent performances. According to him, Pakistan’s approach on home soil has been far too defensive, and this negative mindset is costing the team victories.

“We have been wasting our home advantage with a negative approach for the past two years, which is why we haven’t been winning in Test cricket on our home grounds,” Akmal stated.

His point was further emphasized by Bangladesh’s recent series win in Pakistan, which he believes serves as a wake-up call for where Pakistan currently stands in the global Test arena.

“The Bangladesh team, by winning, has shown us where we stand in Test cricket. If we don’t understand this now, then it’s goodbye for us,” he added, sounding the alarm for much-needed changes.

Pakistan’s Approach

One of the most striking observations Kamran Akmal made was about Pakistan’s lack of a victory-oriented approach. He argued that this mindset needs to shift if Pakistan is to regain its glory in Test cricket.

A victory-oriented approach, he believes, is the key to success in modern cricket. “In modern cricket, your approach holds great importance, and it should only be about winning,” Akmal stressed.

The Franchise Cricket Distraction

Another major issue Kamran Akmal pointed out was Pakistan players’ preference for franchise T20 leagues over red-ball cricket. In his view, Pakistan’s players are not playing enough first-class cricket, which is crucial for success in Test matches.

“They apologise for not playing red-ball cricket for the past 7 or 8 months. But who told them to stop playing? Who told them to focus only on leagues around the world and not practice or play red-ball cricket?” Akmal questioned.

A Lesson from India

In a pointed comparison, Akmal praised India’s professional attitude when it comes to Test cricket preparation. He mentioned that even though India had not played red-ball cricket for a while before their series against Bangladesh, they still made sure their players were match-ready.

“India scheduled a Duleep Trophy match, and everyone was in action. That is what a professional approach looks like,” Akmal said, underscoring the need for better planning and preparation on Pakistan’s side.

At the end of the day, Kamran Akmal believes success in cricket—especially Test cricket—boils down to one thing: a professional attitude. He emphasized that without a winning mentality and a dedicated approach to preparation, Pakistan cricket will continue to struggle.

Babar Azam Bowled By Local Bowler In Practice Match

babar-azam-bowled-by-local-bowler

Babar Azam, one of Pakistan’s most celebrated cricketers, finds himself under the microscope yet again. Known for his stylish batting and calm demeanor at the crease, Babar has been going through a rough patch, and things just took a surprising turn during a recent practice match.

In preparation for the upcoming Champions One-Day Cup, where he will represent the Stallions, Babar faced a local bowler who handed him a rare and embarrassing dismissal.

Babar Azam Bowled In Viral Moment

During a practice match between the Stallions and Lions, left-arm spinner Mohammad Asghar clean-bowled Babar Azam with a beauty of a delivery. It was an attempted paddle sweep from Babar that went completely wrong. The ball snuck under his bat and crashed into his stumps, leaving fans and critics stunned.

A video of the moment quickly went viral on social media, fueling more discussion about Babar’s current form.

Credit has to go to Mohammad Asghar, who bowled with great precision. His delivery was perfectly placed, tempting Babar to go for an aggressive shot. Unfortunately for Babar, his timing was off, and the paddle sweep misfire added to his recent batting woes.

For those who might not know, Asghar has experience on the big stage, having played two seasons for Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) from 2016 to 2018, where he took 21 wickets. His ability to trouble one of the world’s best batters shows his quality as a spinner.
