Researchers conducted bacterial swabs on the screens of ten randomly selected individuals’ phones. Multiple swabs were taken to ensure accurate sampling. These swabs were then placed in a developing fluid and sent to a bacterial analysis laboratory.

Shocking Results

The study’s findings were alarming. Researchers discovered that 100% of the sampled phone screens contained E. coli and fecal streptococci, both of which are found in human and animal excreta. Additionally, 50% of the screens were contaminated with P. aeruginosa, a bacterium commonly found in cockroach feces. Even more concerning, all the screens had traces of Bacillus cereus, which causes intense food poisoning, and S. aureus, which can cause pneumonia.

The presence of these bacteria on our phones poses several health risks. E. coli contamination can lead to diarrhea, vomiting, and urinary tract infections. Although many variants of E. coli are harmless, their presence on our phones indicates a high level of contamination. Faecal streptococci and Enterococci, also found on phone screens, are known to cause various infections. Researchers have discovered that the temperature of various facial regions is linked to different chronic conditions. By using an AI-driven thermal camera, doctors could potentially detect diseases at an earlier stage.

“Aging is a natural process,” said Jing-Dong Jackie Han of Peking University in Beijing, China, in a news release. “But our tool has the potential to promote healthy aging and help people live disease-free.”

The study analyzed facial temperatures of over 2,800 Chinese individuals aged 21 to 88. Researchers aimed to determine if these temperature readings could indicate health status. The data was fed into an AI program that identified key facial regions where temperatures were significantly related to age and health.

Temperature and Specific Health Conditions

The results were revealing. Metabolic disorders like diabetes and fatty liver disease caused higher temperatures around the eyes compared to healthy individuals. High blood pressure led to elevated cheek temperatures. Researchers believe this increase is due to inflammation associated with chronic diseases, causing temperatures to rise in specific facial areas and creating a “thermal clock” for detecting illness.

“The thermal clock is so strongly associated with metabolic diseases that previous facial imaging models were not able to predict these conditions,” Han said.

The study’s implications extend beyond just identifying existing conditions. In a follow-up experiment, researchers investigated whether a healthy habit could influence a person’s thermal clock. They had 23 participants jump rope at least 800 times daily for two weeks. Remarkably, participants reduced their thermal age by five years through this short burst of exercise.

The research team plans to explore if thermal facial imaging can diagnose other illnesses like sleeping disorders or heart problems. This method could revolutionize early disease detection and intervention, making healthcare more accessible and preventive.

Pakistan, 08 July, 2024 – In its continuous effort to foster a secure and positive online environment, TikTok has unveiled its latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report for the first quarter of 2024. This release highlights TikTok’s unwavering commitment to transparency, safety, and inclusivity, reflecting its dedication to building trust and ensuring a safe platform for its global community.

During the January-March period of 2024, TikTok’s proactive measures led to the removal of 166,997,307 videos worldwide, representing about 0.9% of all videos uploaded on the platform. A substantial portion of these, 129,335,793 videos, were identified and removed through automated detection technologies, while 6,042,287 videos were reinstated upon further review.

In a bid to enhance transparency, TikTok has now disclosed the number of comments removed and filtered by our comment safety tools for the first time. TikTok has removed and filtered 976,479,946 comments using comment safety tools during this three-month period.

In Pakistan alone, the platform took action against 20,207,878 videos for breaching its Community Guidelines in the first quarter, underscoring its resolve to combat violations effectively. Moreover, TikTok aggressively pursued spam accounts and related content, implementing robust measures to prevent the proliferation of automated spam accounts.

Notably, approximately 93.9% of videos that violated the guidelines were removed within 24 hours of posting, and the proactive removal rate for the quarter stood impressively at 99.8% globally. In a global effort to safeguard younger users, TikTok also deleted 21,639,414 accounts suspected of belonging to individuals under the age of 13.

TikTok’s Community Guidelines are meticulously crafted to cultivate an environment that is safe, inclusive, and authentic for all users, without exceptions. The guidelines are enforced uniformly across all content and users, with TikTok striving for consistency and fairness in its enforcement actions.

Leveraging advanced technology and human oversight, TikTok efficiently identifies, reviews, and addresses content that contravenes its guidelines. The periodic publication of the Community Guidelines Enforcement Report offers insights into the scale and nature of content and account actions, underscoring TikTok’s commitment to full transparency.
