Salt Bae Sprinkled Out of PSG’s Post-Match Party, Internet Reacts

The UEFA Champions League final was more than just about scores. Off the field, a Salt Bae viral moment captured part of the attention.

Following Paris Saint-Germain’s routing of Inter Milan 5–0 in Munich, fans and players celebrated. But an evocative short video clip outside the post-match site captured online attention. It captured Nusret Gokce, better known as Salt Bae, in what appeared to be a heated standoff with security personnel.

The Internet Went Wild

Following the incident, the internet went wild. They guessed he was booted out of PSG’s exclusive bash. Some joked he’d been “yaka paça” (basically, thrown out by the collar). Others claimed it was karma for past misbehaviour, such as barging into Argentina’s World Cup party in 2022.

Memes trailed. So did speculations. Was he not invited? Was he finally being “put in his place”?

Salt Bae Acted Fast

In a social media post, Salt Bae had denied everything. “There was no invitation-only party,” he posted. “We came with the UEFA bus because fans were waiting outside.” He had explained that he was there only to take photographs and wave to fans.

The “confrontation” was merely a staff member, named “Mr. Dormen,” simply showing him to his car, according to him.

“Don’t worry about small things,” Salt Bae wrote later. “The rest is artificial intelligence.”

Truth or Spin?

The remark raised an eyebrow. Was he accusing AI of the appearance of the video? Editing? Or the speed of rumour-spreading?

Reactions are split. Some accept his version. Others believe he’s spinning it. The brief clip does not provide context, but internet viewers rarely give the whole story a chance.

A Familiar Pattern

This is not the first time Salt Bae has stirred drama at a high-profile football event. His tendency to crash into parties—or insert himself into them—has brought both popularity and criticism.

What’s certain is this: get ejected or not, Salt Bae somehow managed to take over headlines following a record-breaking football moment. As social media dissected every frame of video, one thing hasn’t changed— he knows how to remain viral.

How to Check IMEI Number on Different Devices?

how-to-check-imei-number-on-mobile

Have you ever heard the term “IMEI number” and wondered what it means?

An IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a 15-digit unique serial number of a device. It can be used to check a device’s country of origin, manufacturer and model number. Pretty crucial and handy if you ask me.

But wait, how do you check the IMEI number? Especially on different types of devices (Apple, Samsung, other Androids)?

Check Your IMEI Number on Any Device

First things first: how do you check your IMEI number on any device? No matter what phone you’re using, there are a few universal methods:

Method 1: Dial Code *#06#

  1. The quickest way to find your IMEI number is to open your dialer and dial *#06# from your device.
  2. Once you press ‘Call’, your IMEI number will instantly appear on the screen.

Simple, right? The best part? This works on almost all phones, regardless of the operating system (Android or iOS).

Method 2: Check the Settings

Another easy way is through your phone’s settings menu. This method varies slightly based on the brand or operating system, so let’s break it down further below.

Check Your IMEI Number on Your Apple Device

If you’re using an iPhone, here’s how to find your IMEI number:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Select About
  4. Scroll down to find your IMEI number

You can also find the IMEI etched on the SIM tray or the back of older iPhones. If your iPhone still has its original box, the IMEI is usually printed on the barcode label as well.

Check Your IMEI Number on Your Samsung Device

Samsung users can check the IMEI through these steps:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select About phone or About device
  3. You’ll see your IMEI, model number, and serial number displayed on-screen.

For older devices, you may need to select “Status” to see your IMEI, model number and serial number.

Some Samsung phones also include the IMEI on the back of the device (though this is becoming rare).

Check Your IMEI Number on an Android Device

Not all Android phones are created equal, but most follow a similar route:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Scroll to About phone (or About device)
  3. Look for IMEI information

Some devices with dual SIMs may show two IMEI numbers, one for each slot.

What is an IMEI number?

Your IMEI number (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique 15-digit code assigned to your mobile device. Think of it as your phone’s fingerprint. No two devices in the world share the same IMEI number.

This unique number can reveal all the details about a phone without requiring physical possession, including the brand and model, year of release, and other specifications.

It helps mobile networks identify valid devices and can be crucial if your phone is lost or stolen. Authorities and service providers can use this number to block your device from being used on networks, rendering it useless to thieves.

Importance of IMEI Number

Here’s why your IMEI number is more important than you might think:

  • Theft protection: You can report your IMEI to block the phone. This means that the criminal would not be able to use it, even if they put in a new SIM card.
  • Network unlocking: It’s used to unlock your phone for use with other carriers.
  • Warranty and repairs: IMEI helps service centres verify authenticity.
  • Buying/selling: When buying a used phone, checking the IMEI ensures it’s not blacklisted or stolen. Every company will always check the IMEI first to see if the phone has been reported as stolen.
  • Tracking and identification: Law enforcement agencies use it to track lost or stolen devices.

Final Verdict

Whether you’re troubleshooting, selling your phone, or just curious, knowing how to check IMEI number is crucial and often gets underestimated. It’s a small piece of data with a big role in mobile security and identification. Note it down and save it somewhere!

Too Long; Didn’t Read – Quick Recap

  • IMEI = unique identifier for your phone

  • Dial *#06# or go to Settings to find it

  • Useful for security, unlocking, and tracking

  • Always verify it when buying or selling phones

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Here are some frequently asked questions to help you clear up any queries you may have.

Q- How to Check If IMEI is Original?

Ans: You can verify your IMEI number by visiting the official IMEI checker websites, such as IMEI.info or your device manufacturer’s website. Input the 15-digit IMEI, and it’ll tell you if it’s valid, active, and what device it belongs to.

Q- Can a Fake Phone Have an IMEI?

Ans: Unfortunately, yes. Some counterfeit phones use copied or invalid IMEI numbers. This is why verifying the IMEI before purchasing a used or imported phone is crucial.

Q- Is IMEI My SIM number?

Ans: No, your IMEI is tied to your device, while your SIM number (ICCID) is tied to your SIM card. One identifies the phone, the other the mobile line. You can also check how many SIMs are registered on your CNIC, through various methods.

Cricket Australia Confirms White-ball Tour Of Pakistan In 2026

cricket-australia-confirms-white-ball-tour-of-pakistan

Australia is all set to tour Pakistan in early 2026 for a white-ball series that promises thrills, fierce competition, and a deepening bond between two proud cricketing nations.

Speaking in an online press conference, Cricket Australia (CA) CEO Todd Greenberg confirmed the upcoming tour and shared a wave of optimism about what lies ahead.

“I believe it will be another good tour of Pakistan. The series is an important part of our schedule,” Greenberg said, emphasizing CA’s continued commitment to working closely with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The series, slated for February–March 2026, will include three ODIs and three T20Is, according to the ICC’s Future Tours Programme (FTP) for 2025–27.

Rewinding to 2022

Let’s be honest — when Australia last toured Pakistan in 2022, it felt historic. A 24-year gap was finally bridged, and the tour turned out to be nothing short of memorable.

There were Tests, ODIs, and even a T20I. The cricket was competitive, the stadiums were packed, and the hospitality? Absolutely top-tier.

cricket-australia-confirms-white-ball-tour-of-pakistan

Greenberg, too, couldn’t help but recall the good vibes from that series:

“In 2022, we toured Pakistan after a long gap and were given a very warm welcome. It would be fantastic to continue such tours.”

It wasn’t just about cricket; it was about sending a message — that international teams can tour Pakistan safely, and cricket in the country is thriving once again.

What Makes This Series Even More Interesting?

Well, for starters, the last time Pakistan visited Australia (in November 2024), they pulled off a remarkable 2-1 win in the ODI series under the captaincy of Mohammad Rizwan. It was their first ODI series victory on Australian soil since 2002, and it left fans dreaming of more magic.

Sure, Australia bounced back by sweeping the T20I series 3-0, but the signs were clear: Pakistan is no pushover, especially in white-ball cricket.

Now, with the tables turned and Australia touring Pakistan, the stakes feel even higher. Can Rizwan’s men hold their ground at home? Or will the Aussies come roaring back?

Spotlight on the BBL

The conversation didn’t just stick to international cricket.

Greenberg also opened up about the Big Bash League (BBL) and the growing excitement around seeing Pakistani players feature more regularly in Australia’s premier T20 competition.

“There is no doubt Pakistani players are very popular within the community,” he said. “If top Pakistani players come, they will definitely enjoy it here, and the league will benefit immensely.”

It’s true — fans love the flair and firepower that Pakistani stars bring. And while talks are still in progress, Greenberg confirmed that CA is actively working to bring more of them in for the next BBL season.

So, could we see the likes of Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam, or Shadab Khan lighting up Australian grounds this winter? Fingers crossed!

Pakistan to Play in Sri Lanka as Women’s World Cup Schedule Revealed

pakistan-to-play-in-sri-lanka-icc-womens-world-cup-2025

Get ready, cricket fans — the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 is officially on the calendar, and it promises to be a spectacle!

Scheduled from September 30 to November 2, this tournament will feature the world’s top eight women’s teams battling it out for the ultimate prize in women’s cricket. But there’s a twist — especially if you’re a Pakistan supporter.

Pakistan’s Home Away from Home?

The biggest headline for Pakistan fans is this: every single one of Pakistan’s matches will be played in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Yes, you read that right. Although India and Sri Lanka are co-hosting the tournament, Pakistan won’t play a single game in India. Instead, they’ll have the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo as their exclusive venue.

This isn’t random. It’s part of the ‘fusion formula’, a diplomatic workaround devised to keep India and Pakistan from travelling to each other’s territories for ICC events — at least for the next three years. Think of it as cricket diplomacy in action.

So, Colombo becomes Pakistan’s base. And honestly? It’s not the worst setup. The conditions are familiar, the fans are welcoming, and the cricket’s always exciting.

Women’s World Cup Venues

The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 matches will be spread across five venues, split between India and Sri Lanka:

  • M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru

  • ACA Stadium, Guwahati

  • Holkar Stadium, Indore

  • ACA-VDCA Stadium, Visakhapatnam

  • R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo

While most teams will be hopping between Indian cities, Pakistan will stay put in Colombo throughout the group stage — a potential advantage in terms of consistency and familiarity.

What About the Knockouts?

Here’s where things get even more interesting.

  • First Semi-Final: Scheduled for October 29, and could be held either in Guwahati or Colombo, depending on the teams involved.

  • Second Semi-Final: Set for October 30 in Bengaluru.

  • Final: Locked in for November 2 in Bengaluru — unless Pakistan make it to the final. If they do, the ICC will shift the title clash to Colombo to stick with the neutral venue arrangement.

Yes, the final itself is flexible. If Pakistan reaches the summit clash, the cricketing world will head to Sri Lanka for the grand finale. That’s how serious the ICC is about maintaining this diplomatic balance.

Babar Azam, Rizwan Receive Call-Up to Mike Hesson’s White-ball Camp

babar-azam-rizwan-in-mike-hesson-white-ball-camp

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has named 22 white-ball players for a crucial three-day training camp in Lahore from June 3-5.  This White ball camp aims to lay the foundation for a new white-ball era under head coach Mike Hesson. And yes, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi are all part of the plan, despite the whispers suggesting otherwise.

Why This Camp Matters?

Let’s be honest, the past year or so in Pakistan cricket has been chaotic. Captaincy drama, inconsistent performances, T20 World Cup selections under scrutiny — it’s been a ride. So, this camp feels like a much-needed breather.

According to sources, players will be divided into three groups, reporting on June 3, 4, and 5. But the big three — Babar, Rizwan, and Shaheen — are expected to be present throughout the entire camp.

That alone sends a strong message: they’re not out of the picture.

Mike Hesson Gets to Work

This will be Mike Hesson’s first real hands-on opportunity with the players since taking over the white-ball reins.

The 50-year-old New Zealander, known for his analytical mind and modern approach, plans to personally engage with each player, assess their fitness, analyse recent performances, and — perhaps most importantly — share his vision for Pakistan’s white-ball future.

It’s a smart move. No filters, no middlemen. Just coach-to-player clarity.

babar-azam-rizwan-in-mike-hesson-white-ball-camp
Babar Azam, Rizwan Receive Call-Up to Mike Hesson’s White-ball Camp

Who’s Been Called Up?

Along with the regulars, a few fresh and exciting names — mostly standout performers from PSL 10 — have been included.

Here’s the full list: Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Usman Khan, Saud Shakeel, Shahid Aziz, Abbas Afridi, Salman Mirza, Mir Hamza, Abdullah Shafique, Khawaja Nafay, Haider Ali, Ahmed Daniyal, Mehran Mumtaz, Khurram Shahzad, Maaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Nawaz, Aamir Jamal, Naseem Shah, Sufiyan Muqeem, Ali Raza, and Tayyab Tahir.

Some of these names might not be household yet — but trust us, this camp could be their ticket to the national side if they impress.

The Babar-Rizwan Debate

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room: the place of Babar and Rizwan in the T20I setup. Critics have long targeted the duo’s strike rates and “old-fashioned” batting approach in the shortest format.

And that’s one of the key reasons they were recently dropped from the T20I team. But Hesson has already made his stance clear in earlier interviews:

Babar and Rizwan are in the plans. The goal is to improve them according to modern cricket demands.”

So, rather than throwing them under the bus, the new coach wants to refine their roles, not remove them. It’s a refreshing take. With the right tweaks and tactical clarity, these two can still be absolute match-winners.

A Fresh Start After a Clean Sweep

It’s also worth noting that Pakistan recently pulled off something they hadn’t done in nearly three years — a home T20I series win. And not just any win — a 3-0 clean sweep over Bangladesh.

It was the perfect start to Hesson’s regime, and more importantly, the team played with aggressive intent — something fans had been crying out for.

This camp now allows Hesson and his staff to build on that momentum and assess where each player fits in going forward.

Caught After the Click: DHA Karachi Assault Suspect Arrested!

caught-after-the-click-dha-karachi-assault-suspect-arrested

Karachi police arrested a primary suspect along with two staff members for assaulting a resident in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) region. The incident drew notice when a video went viral on social media earlier in the day.

Arrested from DHA was Salman Farooqi, whose opulent car was confiscated. In a statement, Karachi South Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Asad Raza verified this.

Driving a Land Cruiser, Salman Farooqi reportedly assaulted a bike rider accompanying a woman on Khayaban-i-Ittehad road following a little collision. He supposedly tortured the guy right then.

Earlier, during late-night searches of Farooqi’s office and DHA home, police detained his driver and armed guard. DIG Raza stated that the government did not employ the suspect.

DIG Raza further stated that the victim did not go to the police to file a report, and attempts were being made to contact the victim’s family.

Farooqi, along with his driver and guard, saw the Gizri police register a first information report (FIR). A citizen named Mohammad Saleem filed the FIR under provisions 354 and 506-B of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Other chapters covered 34 (common intention), 342 (wrongful confinement), and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace). Saleem introduced himself as the cell manager of a cellular company.

Saleem claims the event occurred near Ittehad Commercial on Sunday at approximately 8:35 pm. A small crash occurred between the Land Cruiser and a bike.

The complainant said  Farooqi held the biker within his car. He then used threatening, insulting language and struck him. She tried to stop him; he shoved her back with disdain.

DIG Raza remarked that police were treating the situation “quite seriously.” He promised “complete justice” for the victim and added, “No one is above the law.”

Karachi Additional IG Javed Alam Odho and Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar also commissioned a thorough report. Telling the South SSP to respond against the offenders, they asserted that nobody is above the law.

Affordable Pakistani Bridal Designers for Brides on a Budget

affordable-pakistani-bridal-designers-for-brides-on-a-budget

Considering the rising inflation these days, how does one say “yes to the dress?”

Weddings in Pakistan are a big deal. From mehndis bursting with colour to valimas dripping in elegance, everything screams celebration. And right in the heart of all that glitter and glam is the bride.

But here’s the catch: while bridal fashion in Pakistan is breathtaking, it’s also breathtakingly expensive. Big names like HSY, Bunto Kazmi, FTA, Elan, and Hussain Rehar can cost you the same as a small car.

So, what’s a bride to do when she wants to slay the bridal look without slaying her savings? She goes for affordable designers. Yes, they’re not a myth; they really exist!

Zubia Zainab

If you love contemporary cuts with a traditional flair, Zubia Zainab should be on your radar. Based in Lahore, this brand has established a reputation for creating bridal wear that’s rich in detail yet surprisingly affordable in price.

Think intricate handwork, flattering silhouettes and fabrics that look far more expensive than they are.

Tip: Ask about their ready-to-deliver bridal options; you might find actual affordable dream dresses in them.

Faiza Saqlain is often associated with big celebrity weddings, but here’s the secret: not all her pieces are out of reach.

Her simpler bridals, especially for nikkah or valima, are delicate, graceful, and relatively affordable if you opt for lighter work and smart customisation.

Pro tip: Ask her team about light bridal or previous-season designs. Many designers are happy to work within a budget for minimalist brides.

Maha Wajahat

Maha Wajahat is a favourite among brides who want something beautiful and unique without going overboard. Her designs are renowned for their regal feel, characterised by their flowy silhouettes, intricate embellishments, and soft pastel colours.

Plus, her team is incredibly responsive and open to budget-based customisation.

Her bridal line was also featured in the Tere Bin drama!

Budget hack: Many designers offer stitched bridal looks at competitive rates if you bring your own fabric. This is a great way to keep costs down while still getting a designer finish.

Ahmed Sultan

If you’re a modern bride looking for something sleek and edgy, Ahmed Sultan should be on your radar. While not a traditional bridal designer, his semi-formals and lighter bridal pieces have serious main-character energy.

Most brides love his understated glam and contemporary cuts.

Why it works: He’s great for valima looks that aren’t too traditional.

Ali Xeeshan

Yes, Ali Xeeshan is famous for over-the-top fashion and theatrical bridals. But here’s the little-known truth: his studio often has archived pieces, sample sales, and pared-down custom looks that are far more budget-friendly.

This means you still get that high-drama Ali Xeeshan vibe, just without the six-figure price tag.

Insider tip: Be upfront about your budget, especially if you are not looking for heavy craftsmanship.

Agha Noor

Agha Noor may not be your typical bridal house, but don’t underestimate the power of their signature minimalism. For brides who want a graceful, no-fuss look for their nikkah or even a small baraat, Agha Noor’s hand-embellished formals deliver elegance at a fraction of the cost.

Why we love it: Pair one of their heavily worked kurtas with a custom lehenga or gharara and a formal dupatta — voilà, you’ve got a bridal look that’s simple, stunning, and wallet-friendly.

Did the Earthquake Help Inmates Escape Malir Jail?

200-inmates-escape-from-karachis-malir-jail-after-breaking-wall

Karachi saw a major jailbreak on Monday, and hundreds of inmates reportedly escaped from Malir Jail.

Jail officials said prisoners were relocated from their barracks after the earthquake tremors. The escape happened during this time.

The earthquake measured 2.4 in magnitude. It hit at 11:16 PM. It was the 11th tremor in 48 hours. However, sources say that the jail walls were already weak. This gave prisoners a chance to flee.

The escape led to a heavy police operation. Gunfire was reported around the Malir jail, and three FC officials were seriously injured. They were transferred to a private hospital, while others sustained minor injuries.

Search Operation and Official Statements

DIG Prisons Hassan Sahito confirmed the incident. He stated that 6,000 inmates were present at the time. “After the tremors this morning, panic spread among the prisoners, and some even broke locks attempting to escape,” he said.

He added that most escapees were drug addicts, and they broke out from two to three points.

Police and Rangers launched a joint operation, and both sides of the National Highway were closed. Surrounding areas, including Shah Latif Town, Gaddafi Town, and Bhains Colony, were searched.

So far, 73 escapees have been caught, and locals have been helped by reporting suspicious people.

Sindh Interior Minister Zia Lanjar said a full investigation is underway. He stated, “Initial information suggests the prisoners were moved out of their barracks due to the tremors.”

He added it’s unclear whether they broke the wall or just the locks.

Elite forces like the SSU and the SRF joined the search while jail authorities are checking the remaining inmates. Moreover, they’re also confirming the structure’s safety.

Rangers now guard the jail’s outer area, and the Police and FC have secured the inside.

TikToker Sana Yousuf’s Killer Arrested – But Who Is He Really?

prime-suspect-arrested-in-tiktoker-sana-yousuf-murder-case

A young TikToker, identified as Sana Yousuf, was tragically shot dead in the federal capital within the jurisdiction of the Sumbal police station, authorities confirmed on Monday.

According to police officials, Tiktoker Sana Yousuf, who hailed from Upper Chitral and resided in Sector G13 of Islamabad, was fatally shot by a guest who had come to visit her at her residence.

The assailant fled the scene immediately after the incident and police have launched an investigation to apprehend the suspect.

The body was shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for a postmortem examination while Police say the investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the murder and trace the accused.

Her murder adds to a troubling pattern of violence against women in Pakistan.

A similar case was that of Noor Mukadam, whose brutal murder in Islamabad in 2021 shocked the country.

The Supreme Court recently upheld the death sentence of her killer, Zahir Jaffer. These cases show the urgent need for stronger measures to protect women.

Murderer Arrested Within 20 Hours

Islamabad Police arrested the suspect in the murder of TikToker Sana Yousuf just 20 hours after the crime was committed.

The suspect, Umar Hayat, also known as Kaka, was tracked and caught in Faisalabad after fleeing the capital.

Police used CCTV footage and advanced technology to trace Umar and he was found hiding in Faisalabad and taken into custody.

During interrogation, Umar, who is also a TikToker, claimed to be Sana’s friend and confessed to killing her.

According to police, the crime shocked the public. Sana’s murder video and images spread quickly on social media, leading to outrage and calls for justice.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised Islamabad Police for their quick action.

He stated, “Well done Islamabad Police. Sana Yousuf murder case traced, accused arrested and weapon recovered within 20 hours.”

Naqvi said that the murder weapon, a pistol and Sana’s iPhone were recovered. He added that the suspect was arrested just one hour before his official statement was released.

Earlier, it was reported that Sana’s killer had entered her home with his face covered and shot her before escaping. The murder stunned the online community, where Sana had a strong following.

Police are continuing their investigation and they believe the arrest and recovery of evidence will help speed up the legal process.

The motive behind the killing has not yet been confirmed by police, but the confession is being closely examined. Authorities say more details will be shared once the investigation is complete.

Deemak: Is the Super-Natural Horror Worth Your Money?

deemak-is-the-super-natural-horror-worth-your-money

The Pakistani film industry has been going through a one-of-a kind revival. A new generation of writers, directors and producers have brought a fresh energy to the big screen, now collaborating with international studios and attracting audiences from around the world. A product of this is Rafay Rashdi’s Deemak, set to release this Eid al-Adha.

Featuring actors like Faysal Quraishi, Samina Peerzada, Sonya Hussyn and Javed Sheikh, Deemak is a disturbing paranormal film based on the concept of deemak, or infestation that slowly feeds on homes, people and even relationships.

Not having many horror movies made in Pakistan, Deemak is a much awaited one, specially because of the names that are starring in it. Having had the chance to watch the movie on its premier night, here is my hot take on it.

Yes, it’s spoiler-free!

The Concept that Takes the Cake

For me, the concept of a film is its foundation; it is what makes or breaks it. Written by Ayesha Muzaffar aka the author of the infamous Abusjinns, Deemak was bound to have a solid storyline.

From the very beginning of the movie, you would feel the eeriness and discomfort; a good sign for any horror movie. This discomfort is built over the course of the movie not just through acting, but also through subliminal messages, for instance the appearance of Deemak in different corners of the house. It makes you wonder what all of it is leading to.

Deemak, an Urdu word for termite, feeds on decaying matter. In the film, you’ll not only see the literal presence of Deemak but also confront its metaphorical form: the slow, consuming nature of negativity.

The Film is Spooky!

Don’t go in the cinema expecting some Conjuring level horror, you’ll probably get disappointed. While the film might not be the scariest you’ll see, it is definitely spooky and will give you chills.

From the camerawork to the lighting, and especially the set design, everything evokes a chilling, old-world atmosphere, as if you’ve stepped into a place where the sun never shines and the walls whisper secrets. In Deemak’s case, they really do!

I would really commend Rafay Rashdi for creating this world that is not far off from our own. Everything in the movie is believable, and that’s what makes it so haunting.

The Performances Win Above All

It’s not like I didn’t know the main cast was talented, I just didn’t imagine them to be THIS good in a horror film. Seldom do actors know how to scare the audience, and mind you, Samina Peerzada and Sonya Hussain did it flawlessly.

Samina Peerzada

Lets starts off with Samina Peerzada. We’ve all seen how utterly talented Samina is throughout her career. To me, the one role that stood out the most was hers in the drama serial Bala. It was unlike anything I had seen before: completely shaking and traumatising.

Now imagine that same intensity, amplified tenfold, with a chilling paranormal twist. Yes, it was that good.

Samina Peerzada was phenomenal in her role as Kulsoom, aka Amma—a mother so obsessively attached to her son that she simply couldn’t let go, not after his marriage, not even after he had children.

To her, every wrong in the world could somehow be traced back to her daughter-in-law. But as the story unfolds, you begin to understand the roots of this unbreakable, almost haunting bond she shares with her son.

You’ll have to watch to find out.

Samina-Peerzada-in- Deemak
Samina Peerzada in Deemak

Faysal Quraishi

Faysal, who plays Faraz, portrays a man who can easily be termed a ‘mama’s boy.’ To him, everything in the world comes after his mother, so when a calamity struck her, Faraz was just as impacted by it, if not more.

He has managed to keep the audience’s attention on him throughout the movie. Whether it’s the intensity of his character, its irritability or complete surrender, he nails each scene.

It almost made me wonder why the man stayed away from the silver screen for so long.

Sonya Hussain

Time and time again, Sonya has proven how amazingly talented she is. In Deemak, her performance was no different. She played Hiba, a woman married into a household where, no matter how much effort she put into building relationships, she was constantly targeted by her mother-in-law.

Her dynamic with Samina Peerzada is a very typical one, until its not. When Hiba starts experiencing paranormal things around her, the audience witnesses an extremely frustrated, tired and scared individual who has no way out.

Her husband refuses to believe her and her mother-in-law… well, let’s leave that out of the question.

However, what impressed me the most was the intensity of each emotion that translated through the screen. I sympathised for Hiba, I felt scared for her and mind you, I felt scared of her!

A Visual Effects Letdown

Here’s where the movie disappointed me a bit: the visual effects, crafted by Julia Milas and Imagine Magic Studio, fell short in several key areas. I understand the film wasn’t made on a massive budget, but considering that VFX play a crucial role in any supernatural movie, even a well-written story can falter if the visuals don’t deliver.

I wouldn’t say the effects were outright terrible, but there were moments where they felt cartoonish, more confusing than frightening.

So, is Deemak Worth Your Money?

So, it all boils down to whether the movie is worth your money.

If you are tired of watching the same romantic dramas time and again, and want to experience something different, that too coming from your local industry, I’d say it’s definitely worth the money.

The performances, the concept, the storyline and even the cinematography and sound design is amazing. However, like I said above, the visual effects could’ve been far better.

Regardless, Deemak is revolution in Pakistan’s horror cinema. It’s an evidence that we are growing as an industry and it’s definitely something to be proud of.

Netflix has officially shared the release dates for the much-awaited fifth and final season of Stranger Things.

According to the streaming platform, the season will be released in three parts towards the end of this year. Part one will debut on November 26, followed by part two on Christmas Day. The final episode of the series is set to arrive on New Year’s Eve.

The release dates were made public during Netflix’s Tudum fan event, which took place on Saturday in Los Angeles.

Matt Duffer, Ross’s brother and co-creator, added, “At the same time, we think it’s our most personal story. It was super intense and emotional to film for us and for our actors. We’ve been making this show together for almost 10 years. There was a lot of crying. There was so much crying.”

Pakistani Dramas Used to Inspire Women; Now They Romanticise Abuse

pakistani-dramas-used-to-inspire-women-now-they-romanticise-abuse

Once upon a time in Pakistan’s golden television era, women tuned into their evening dramas not just for escapism, but for empowerment. Pakistani dramas like Dhoop Kinare and Tanhaiyan weren’t just stories, they were the literal standard for the women of that time.

Fast forward to 2025, and the picture is far bleaker.

Today, the damsel in distress and toxic alpha male trope is the typical storyline. With all their high-definition camera work and painfully long OSTs, the dramas these days seem less interested in empowering women and more focused on emotionally shackling them, often under the pretext of love.

The worst part? This is incredibly dangerous for a society that is already plagued with such toxic stereotypes.

From Empowerment to Endurance

Today, Pakistani dramas are shedding light on dark themes like abuse, manipulation and misogyny, but, sadly, in the worst way possible. They are not being addressed, instead, they are being glorified.

Shows like Tere Bin and Mann Mast Malang (a recent drama making headlines for all the wrong reasons) are prime offenders. In these storylines, the “hero,” who is almost always a violent, possessive man-child that stalks, coerces and emotionally terrorises his love interest and the female lead ends up falling for him.

And we are supposed to believe this is true love. Why? Because he broods handsomely? Because he sheds a single remorseful tear in episode 20 before returning to his alpha male antics?

That’s one way to feed us the toxic narratives that we already suffer the consequences of on a wide scale.

The Allure of the ‘Toxic Hero’

Let’s be honest, the bad boy trope is not new, nor is it unique to Pakistan. But Pakistani dramas have taken it to a dangerous extreme. The romanticism of control (where jealousy is mistaken for love and silence is a sign of virtue) is fed to millions of viewers as ideal relationship behaviour.

Female viewers, many of whom look to dramas for a reflection of their lives or possibilities beyond them, are instead being fed a steady diet of distorted affection.

The endgame is always the same: the woman must suffer, forgive and eventually be rewarded with her abuser’s love. Her strength is measured not by how she asserts herself, but by how much she can endure.

And God forbid she walks away because that would be too empowering. Just look at this “best scene”, for example.

The Writer’s Responsibility

This regression isn’t accidental. It’s a reflection of a writer’s choice, a producer’s priority, and a channel’s chase for TRPs.

When drama plots equate male aggression with romance, they send a chilling message: if he hurts you, he probably loves you, and if he is being toxically dominant, then he is definitely your soulmate.

Such dramas don’t just romanticise aggression, they desensitise audiences to it.

Writers must stop hiding behind the excuse of “audience demand.” The audience responds to what they’re shown repeatedly. It’s not a demand; it’s conditioning. Our dramas have been training women for years to believe that love means sacrifice, even of one’s dignity and safety.

We need new narratives. Ones where women leave toxic relationships, where men are emotionally intelligent and where love is rooted in mutual respect — not power games. Why? Because life imitates art more than art imitates life.

Not All Hope is Lost

Alas, not all is bleak. Dramas like Dar Si Jati Hai Sila and Udaari have dared to confront abuse without glamorising it. They showed women finding their voice and reclaiming their agency. But these examples are far and few between in a sea of melodramatic sob-fests.

Pakistani dramas once had the power to spark change. They challenged cultural norms, gave women role models, and offered more than just love stories. Many underrated dramas are major examples of such scripts.

A woman with dreams, ambition and boundaries isn’t a threat to the narrative. Perhaps, she is the narrative.

Inside Operation Spiderweb: Ukraine’s Sneak Drone Attack in Russia

inside-operation-spiderweb-ukraines-sneak-drone-attack-in-russia

In a bold new tactic, Ukraine launched a drone attack on four key airbases deep inside Russian territory—some 3,000 miles from the front lines. The operation, code-named Spiderweb, is the most daring since the war began and shows Kyiv will keep the pressure on Moscow even as battles drag on and peace talks stall.

Belaya, Olenya, Dyagilevo Among Key Targets

The Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) confirmed the strikes hit strategic targets including Belaya Air Base in Irkutsk, Olenya in the Arctic Circle, Dyagilevo in western Russia and Ivanovo.

Videos verified by CNN show smoke rising from runways and aircraft—TU-95 bombers and an A-50 surveillance plane—engulfed in flames.

Inside Operation Spiderweb

Ukraine used 117 drones hidden inside mobile wooden homes on trucks. They planned the attack over months. When ready, the roofs of the homes were opened remotely and the drones launched in waves.

Following the attack, Russia was caught off guard. The damage done is estimated at $7 billion and 34% of Russia’s cruise missile carriers.

Strike Overshadows Fragile Peace Talks

The attack comes as Russia and Ukraine are set to resume peace talks in Istanbul, a process already under strain. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called the mission “absolutely unique” while the SBU said “we will strike them at sea, in the air and on land.”

Russia’s Ministry of Defence said several aircraft were damaged but called the attack a “terrorist” act. They claim some drones were intercepted, and no one was killed. But the damage to aircraft and infrastructure is clear in satellite imagery and social media footage.

War Expands While Diplomacy Falters

The attack came after Russia’s record-breaking drone attack on Ukraine just days ago—472 drones in one night—and a missile strike on a Ukrainian training site that killed 12 and wounded over 60.

War Expands While Diplomacy Falters

Peace talks now go forward under a cloud of violence. Ukraine’s demands remain firm: a full ceasefire, prisoner exchange and return of kidnapped children.

However, with Putin absent from talks and Trump getting impatient with Russia’s position, the road to peace looks uncertain.

Ukraine’s latest move may be retaliation—it’s a message that the war has gone beyond the front lines and Kyiv is not backing down.

How to Check Filer Status on FBR

how-to-check-your-filer-status-on-fbr

Listen! Everything these days has gotten digitalised and you know what this means? Stricter check and balance and surveillance by the government. Gone are the days when people used to do tax evasion due to outdated systems.

Today, it’s the bare minimum to stay informed about your filer status with the FBR (Federal Board of Revenue). But how to check filer status, though?

How to Check Filer Status with Different Methods

Well, the FBR offers several convenient methods to check if you’re a registered filer with no jargon or confusion. Let’s walk you through each one of them.

Method # 01: Online Verification via FBR Website

This is probably the most direct and reliable way on how to check filer status online.

Here is how you can do it:

  1. Visit the New FBR IRIS website: Go to the new FBR IRIS website with this link: https://iris.fbr.gov.pk/#verifications. Even from the official website of FBR, you will be directed to this.

  3. Enter your information: Here, you will be required to fill in the following information:
    • Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) number (for individuals and locals), then enter the current date
    • National Tax Number (NTN) (for businesses or Associations of Persons (AOP))
    • Passport number (for non-residents)
  4. Select the appropriate parameter type: Choose the correct option for Parameter Type (NTN, CNIC, or Passport No.) from the dropdown menu. After this, enter the correct Captcha and click verify.
  5. Review the results: The system will display your filer status, showing whether you are an active taxpayer or not.

Why is Filer Status Important?

I know that while people have normalised avoiding tax filing, it’s pretty difficult to stay true to your duty and stay informed. But it is all worth it! Here is why:

1. Lower Tax Rates For You

If you’re a filer, you’ll enjoy significantly lower tax rates on and you know what this means? More money share left for yourself. These include:

  • Bank transactions
  • Property purchases
  • Vehicle registration
  • Dividend income
  • Cash withdrawals

2. Better Access to Financial Services

Filers can avail of various government incentives and schemes designed to benefit compliant taxpayers.

Planning to:

  • Apply for a loan or credit card?

  • Register a business?

  • Open a corporate bank account?

Most banks and financial institutions also prefer (or even require) you to be an active taxpayer.

3. Legal Compliance and Peace of Mind

Pakistan’s tax system is becoming increasingly digitised and integrated. That means the FBR is watching more closely than ever, and being a non-filer might raise a few eyebrows.

Advantages of being a filer:

  • You stay on the right side of the law, and there are fewer legal hurdles.

  • You avoid potential penalties or audits.

4. Participation in the Documented Economy

Being a filer also means you’re contributing to the country’s economic development. Every tax return filed helps build a better infrastructure, healthcare, education and public services.

Plus, it allows you to be eligible for government tenders, business licenses and other perks that only compliant citizens can enjoy.

Not on Active Taxpayer List (ATL)? What to Do

Well, there are two conditions for this situation. First one can be that you did file your taxes and there is just a technical error or the information is yet to be updated (I have elaborated on this below) so it’s not a big deal.

The other one can be that you didn’t file your taxes to start with and have a non-filer status.

For this, you will need to become a filer as urgently as you can. Otherwise, embrace yourself for the following issues:

  • Higher tax rates.
  • Restricted investment opportunities.
  • Trouble registering vehicles or property.

Common Issues and their Solutions

Many people often get confused when they face certain problems. Here are the most common issues along with their solutions to make the process easier.

Incorrect CNIC Entry

Many people always get stuck in a stand still due to incorrect CNIC entry and they often don’t understand what they did wrong. CNIC is the most important in any tax related or legal compliance procedure so even the slightest of mistake will give you and error.

Solution

Enter your CNIC number correctly without any dashes, and before moving forward always re-check it thrice. This way you won’t be frustrated in the end.

Website Downtime

The FBR website might experience downtime during peak hours. This is very common and no you don’t need to get annoyed at it as any website can lag of get down when there is too much traffic on it.

Solution

Always try checking your status during off-peak hours; the time periods where you might think people aren’t necessarily using the website. Doesn’t work? Well just use the SMS option instead.

Outdated Information

Recently updated your tax return but it still shows outdated information or doesn’t show your CNIC on the Active Taxpayer List? Well it’s nothing to be panick about as things require some time to get updated, especially formal processing as everything needs to be accurate in it.

Solution

If you just filed your return, wait for 1-2 weeks for your name to appear in the ATL.

Final Verdict

Checking your filer status isn’t rocket science anymore. It just requires some time and diligence, that’s it. Hopefully, all the methods provided above helped you understand how to check filer status and now you will stay updated. For more information and updates, always refer to the official FBR website.

Heinrich Klaasen Bids Farewell to International Cricket

heinrich-klaasen-bids-farewell-to-international-cricket

Heinrich Klaasen, South Africa’s explosive middle-order batter and dependable wicketkeeper, has announced his retirement from international cricket with immediate effect.

Yep, it’s official. No farewell match. No grand exit. Just a heartfelt Instagram post from a man who’s always let his bat do most of the talking.

“A Sad Day” — But One of Peace

In his emotional message, the 33-year-old called it a “sad day” but shared that he made the decision with a sense of peace.

“It took me a long time to decide what’s best for me and my family for the future,” Klaasen wrote. “It was truly a very difficult decision, but also one that I have absolute peace with.”

And you can feel that this wasn’t a decision made lightly. After all, Klaasen wasn’t just another name on the team sheet. He was someone who fought hard for his place, earned every cap, and made every opportunity count.

The Road Less Travelled — And Fully Owned

Klaasen’s journey wasn’t your typical Proteas fairytale. He debuted in 2018, relatively late at 26, during a tough ODI series against India. From there, he clawed his way into all three formats — something many can only dream of.

And even though his Test career was brief (just four matches), his impact in ODIs and T20Is was hard to miss.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Heinrich Klaasen (@heinie45)

The ODI Maestro South Africa Needed

Let’s talk numbers — because Heinrich Klaasen delivered them with both flair and ferocity.

In 60 ODIs, he smashed 2,141 runs at an average of 43.69 and a strike rate of 117.05. That’s elite-level stuff. Add to that four centuries and 11 fifties, and you get a player who consistently turned games on their head.

But no knock captured his magic better than the 174 off 83 balls against Australia at Centurion in 2023.

Let that sink in.
174 runs.
Just 83 balls.
The highest score ever at No. 5 in ODI history.

It was pure carnage, and anyone who witnessed it will tell you: that was Klaasen at his peak — destructive, calm, and completely in the zone.

The T20Is Accelerator

Klaasen might not have been the most consistent in T20Is, but when he got going, bowlers had no place to hide.

In 58 T20 internationals, he racked up 1,000 runs at a strike rate of 141.84, often playing the enforcer role in the middle overs. His average of 23.25 doesn’t tell the whole story — because Klaasen’s role was never about building innings. It was about breaking games open.

heinrich-klaasen-bids-farewell-to-international-cricket

A Career Built on Grit and Gratitude

In his retirement post, Heinrich Klaasen didn’t shy away from thanking those who believed in him, especially coaches who saw potential when others didn’t.

“My road to wearing the Proteas shirt was different than most… there were certain coaches in my career that kept believing in me – to them I will always be grateful.”

And perhaps what stood out the most was his sincerity. He called playing for the Proteas “the biggest privilege” and something he “dreamed about as a young boy.”

There’s something beautifully old-school about that kind of love for the badge.

Heinrich Klaasen may not have had the star power of an AB de Villiers or the global following of a Quinton de Kock, but he had something just as valuable — authenticity.

He played with heart. He stepped up when it mattered. And he gave fans countless reasons to cheer. So, here’s to Klaasen — the man who carved his own path, hit like a beast, and walked away with grace.

Jake Paul Vows to Humiliate Cesar Chavez Jr. in the Biggest Fight of His Life

Source: Sporty

Jake Paul is getting ready for what he terms the “biggest fight” of his professional career—a big-dollar bout against former WBC middleweight champion Julio César Chávez Jr.

To be held on June 28 in Southern California, the fight guarantees fireworks, and Paul is already bragging.

“Someone’s Getting Embarrassed”

In an interview earlier on TMZ Sports, the 28-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer promised to “humiliate” Chávez Jr., saying this fight will be his coming-out party.

“It’s going to be a tough fight. Someone’s going to get embarrassed, and it’s not going to be me,” Paul told us. While conceding that Chávez Jr. has experience, Paul underscored that he feels he’s better prepared, more focused, and more lethal than ever.

Jake Paul Vows to Humiliate Cesar Chavez

Chávez Jr., 39, is no stranger to the ring. The son of Mexican boxing legend Julio César Chávez Sr., he brings with him a record of 64 professional fights. While he’s had a career filled with ups and downs, including criticism about his work ethic, Paul is not underestimating himself.

“I’ve heard he’s taking this fight more seriously than any in his career,” he noted.

More Than Just One Fight

The June 28 show, promoted by Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), will also host the highly anticipated comeback of former UFC queen Holly Holm to the boxing ring.

Holm, most famous for her memorable knockout victory against Ronda Rousey in 2015, will battle Yolanda Vega in a 10-round pro fight—her first since 2013.

Holm’s comeback is just one element of Paul’s wider effort to develop women’s boxing via MVP, which has already promoted top-level events with Amanda Serrano. When asked if he would sign other top female fighters, like Claressa Shields, Paul teased that he’s willing—despite earlier jabs from Shields herself.

Eyes on the Title

For Paul, bragging rights are not everything. He feels beating an experienced fighter like Chávez Jr. will ultimately prove to the boxing purists and critics alike that he deserves their respect.

“This is my hardest opponent to date,” he said. “But it’s also my opportunity to show that I’m title-worthy.”

With both men psyched and much buzz around the undercard, June 28 is on track to be a career-defining night for Jake Paul—and maybe a turning point for his polarising yet developing boxing career.
