JazzCash vs Easypaisa – Comparison 2025

easypaisa-vs-jazzcash

In Pakistan’s rapidly evolving digital payment landscape, two giants are dominating: JazzCash and EasyPaisa. There is no doubt that both of these mobile wallets are an integral part of people’s lives, offering a range of services from bill payments to money transfers.

However, both are competitors, too, right? So in the debate of JazzCash vs EasyPaisa, which one wins?

JazzCash vs EasyPaisa – Which one is better?

To be frank, the answer depends on the user’s needs, whether one is a freelancer, shopkeeper, student, or simply someone who wants to avoid long queues for bills.

Let’s give both an equal chance and then make a calculated judgment.

What is JazzCash?

JazzCash was launched in November 2012 as MobiCash by Mobilink (now Jazz) in partnership with their subsidiary bank Mobilink Microfinance Bank. Fast forward to today, and it’s basically become the go-to mobile wallet for millions of Pakistanis.

So what can you actually do with it? Pretty much everything. Need to send money to your cousin in Lahore? Done. Forgot to pay your electricity bill again? No problem. Want to top up your phone credit at 2 AM?

JazzCash has got you covered. You can even use it for online shopping, which is pretty handy.

Another thing that stands out for JazzCash (especially for freelancers): Payoneer integration. Yes! Anyone working with international clients and getting paid through Payoneer can transfer that money straight into their JazzCash account.

What is an EasyPaisa?

EasyPaisa also deserves some serious credit. It was actually Pakistan’s pioneer mobile wallet.

Back in 2009, Telenor Microfinance Bank launched it as Pakistan’s very first mobile banking service. But here’s the clever part: they didn’t rely on fancy smartphones or apps that most people couldn’t afford or didn’t know how to use.

Instead, they opted for Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) channels using simple codes that can be dialed by any phone for Easypaisa. This way, people with the simplest of phones (especially those in rural areas) were able to send money to their loved ones.

They literally took banking to people who thought banking wasn’t for them.

Features

Now that we’ve introduced both mobile wallets and their purposes, let’s examine their features individually.

JazzCash Features

  • Mobile top-ups
  • Bill payments
  • Money transfers (including international remittances)
  • Online shopping
  • Physical and virtual debit cards
  • Can be made for users under 18 years of age
  • Integration with Payoneer, facilitating freelancers to withdraw funds directly into their JazzCash wallets.

Easypaisa Features

  • Bill payments
  • Money transfers
  • Mobile top-ups
  • Online shopping
  • Debit cards
Takeaway: While both platforms offer similar services, JazzCash’s integration with Payoneer gives it an edge for freelancers receiving international payments

Accessibility and Reach

Introduction and purpose? Check. Features? Check. But what about the accessibility and reach? This can play a huge role in making one better than the other. So let’s take a look.

Coverage and Availability of JazzCash

JazzCash has taken its accessibility pretty seriously. It has an extensive network, reaching urban centres and remote areas alike. That’s actually a huge deal in a country like Pakistan, where geography can be your biggest enemy when it comes to financial services.

It’s deeply integrated with Jazz network users but is also open to all telecom networks. This accessibility and availability of JazzCash has made it a preferred choice for many across the nation.

Coverage and Availability of Easypaisa

On the other hand, EasyPaisa has also been instrumental in addressing Pakistan’s financial inclusion challenges, particularly in rural communities.

The platform has strategically built an extensive network that reaches well beyond urban centres, ensuring that even Pakistan’s most remote regions have access to essential financial services.

It also works with all network users and has the advantage of deeper penetration in remote villages, thanks to Telenor’s infrastructure.

Transaction Security

Any service involving monetary transactions must implement maximum transactional security all over its platform, as this can make or break customers in the long run.

JazzCash’s Transaction Security

The platform has implemented comprehensive security frameworks that include advanced encryption technologies and multi-layered authentication protocols to safeguard every transaction.

Biometric verification is used for certain services. It also notifies users of each transaction via SMS and app alerts.

EasyPaisa’s Transaction Security

EasyPaisa offers two-factor authentication, fraud detection, real-time transaction monitoring and encryption. Its system can quickly identify unusual patterns or potentially fraudulent behaviour, providing an additional safety net for users’ financial operations.

It’s also considered slightly more aggressive in flagging suspicious activity and provides fast support in case of issues.

For EasyPaisa, this commitment to security has become a cornerstone of their reputation and a key factor in their widespread adoption throughout the country.

Mobile App Comparison

It is a “mobile wallet,” which means it has a mobile app too. So, how do they perform respectively?

JazzCash Mobile App Features

JazzCash stands out with its intuitive and user-friendly interface. The app’s design prioritises simplicity, ensuring that users can navigate effortlessly and perform transactions with ease.

  • Sleek and user-friendly interface
  • Quick Payoneer access
  • Custom home screen for frequent actions
  • Regular cashback promotions
  • Minor bugs reported by users during peak hours

EasyPaisa Mobile App Features

EasyPaisa, known for its user-centric approach, also offers a seamless experience. The straightforward design caters to users with varying levels of technological proficiency.

  • Clean UI with modern design

  • Easy investment and donations tabs

  • User-based rewards and vouchers

  • Excellent transaction history tracking

  • Some delays in app loading have been reported.

JazzCash vs Easypaisa

Fee Structure

Every important thing has been covered, apart from the fee. These platforms must require some fee, right?

JazzCash Fees and Charges

JazzCash maintains a transparent fee policy, with charges varying based on the type and amount of transactions. Notably, JazzCash charges a fee on every deposit from retailers and transaction fees on each transaction.

EasyPaisa Fees and Charges

EasyPaisa follows a competitive fee structure, ensuring that users are aware of the charges associated with different services. Interestingly, EasyPaisa does not charge any fee on transactions less than Rs 10,000.

Verdict: EasyPaisa is more economical for small transfers. JazzCash is better for freelancers.

Pros and Cons

Both financial services come with their own pros and cons. Below are a few.

JazzCash Pros and Cons

  • Pros: Broad service offerings, extensive network, user-friendly interface.
  • Cons: May have higher fees for certain transactions, limited international partnerships

EasyPaisa Pros and Cons

  • Pros: Wide accessibility, simple user interface, competitive fee structure, good rural outreach.
  • Cons: No Payoneer integration, limited service offerings compared to JazzCash.

JazzCash vs Easypaisa – Final Verdict

Both JazzCash and EasyPaisa have carved out substantial and unique niches in Pakistan’s fintech landscape. There can never be an ultimate winner between JazzCash vs EasyPaisa as the preference is selective on needs.

  • Choose JazzCash: if you’re a freelancer looking for Payoneer integration, a user-friendly app interface, and wide agent network coverage, it’s a great idea to open a JazzCash account to meet all your needs
  • Opt for EasyPaisa: if you prioritise cost-effective small transactions, live in rural areas with Easypaisa agent access, and prefer a simple user experience, it’s worth considering to make an Easypaisa account.

There is no doubt that both platforms are incredibly vital for financial literacy in Pakistan. Both continue to drive innovation and growth in Pakistan’s digital financial sector, benefiting millions of users across the country.

Ricky Ponting Picks Australia XI for WTC Final at Lord’s

ricky-ponting-picks-australia-xi-for-wtc-final-at-lords

The ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final is just around the corner, and the former Australia captain Ricky Ponting has named a Playing XI, which he thinks is the best for the Aussies.

The former Australian captain and cricket pundit didn’t hold back in the latest episode of The ICC Review, where he shared his predicted lineup for the high-stakes clash against South Africa at Lord’s, scheduled from June 11 to 15.

But what caught everyone’s attention? His bold call to push Marnus Labuschagne to the top of the order.

Marnus to Open? That’s a New One

Let’s face it — Labuschagne has been a mainstay at No.3 for a while now. So when Ricky Ponting suggested bumping him up to open with Usman Khawaja, eyebrows were raised.

“I’ve just got a bit of a feeling that Marnus Labuschagne might be pushed up the order to open the batting with Khawaja,” Ponting said.

Now, that’s a big shift — especially for someone who hasn’t opened in Tests before. But Ponting has his reasons. With David Warner now retired, there’s a vacancy, and Marnus might just be the man to fill it… at least temporarily.

The Rest of the Lineup

Ponting’s predicted batting order has a few curveballs:

  1. Usman Khawaja
  2. Marnus Labuschagne
  3. Cameron Green
  4. Steve Smith
  5. Travis Head
  6. Beau Webster
  7. Alex Carey (wk)
  8. Pat Cummins (c)
  9. Mitchell Starc
  10. Nathan Lyon
  11. Josh Hazlewood

Let’s unpack this a little.

Green at No. 3 is a big promotion. While his potential is undeniable, he hasn’t consistently batted that high in red-ball cricket. But if he fires, that’s a game-changer.

Then there’s Beau Webster at six — a pick that’s as exciting as it is unexpected. The tall Tasmanian all-rounder has been making waves in domestic cricket, and Ponting clearly sees something in him.

The Hazlewood vs Boland Dilemma

Every Aussie fan knows this debate. When Hazlewood’s fit, he’s world-class. But when Boland plays, he always delivers.

“It’s a tough call every time,” Ponting admitted. “But if Hazlewood is fit, I think he comes straight back into the team.”

Tough break for Boland, who was instrumental in the last WTC Final, but that’s the kind of selection headache most teams dream of having.

Ricky Ponting also shed light on why the selectors might stick with Labuschagne — despite his dip in form and a lukewarm County Championship stint with Glamorgan.

“I think they’ll want to get through the cycle with the same players,” he explained. “Labuschagne has been through this with the team, even if he’s moving up the order.”

It’s less about radical changes and more about backing the trusted core to deliver one more time.

“Stability Over Stunts”: Imad Wasim on Mike Hesson’s Era

imad-wasim-welcomes-mike-hesson-era-with-hope

Imad Wasim, known for his calm under pressure and thoughtful cricketing mind, has thrown his support behind newly-appointed Pakistan’s white-ball head coach Mike Hesson, with a mix of faith, experience, and a touch of friendly caution.

A Coach with a Vision

In a recent chat on a local sports platform, Imad described Hesson’s arrival as a positive step in the right direction — especially for a team that’s often searching for consistency in white-ball cricket.

“Mike Hesson understands the game really well. I’ve spoken to him about cricket, and he seems like a very good coach,” Imad shared. “Let’s see what happens.”

That “let’s see” isn’t doubt — it’s just a reflection of the reality every Pakistan fan knows too well: good coaching only works if there’s a strategy, and more importantly, if the dressing room backs it.

stability-over-stunts-imad-wasim-on-mike-hessons-era
“Stability over Stunts,” Imad Wasim on Mike Hesson’s Era

Fearless ≠ Reckless

One of the more striking parts of Imad’s interview was his take on Pakistan’s batting mindset. With teams like England setting the gold standard for aggressive yet calculated T20 cricket, Imad made a key distinction:

“There’s a difference between recklessness, stupidity, and fearlessness. There’s a fine line — and you cannot cross it. Even England have a proper structure in place for how they go about T20 cricket.”

In a team where chaos can sometimes be mistaken for creativity, this is a timely reminder. Playing brave cricket doesn’t mean swinging for the fences without a plan.

The Real Challenge? The Drama

Imad Wasim didn’t sugarcoat it. For all of Hesson’s tactical nous, his biggest test might not be in the nets, but in navigating the ever-dramatic ecosystem of Pakistan cricket.

“If you give them time — like four to six months, or three to four series — it could work. I want to see Pakistan playing good cricket,” Imad said. The subtext? Let the coach breathe. No last-minute U-turns, no knee-jerk reactions, no committee circus.

A Promising Start Under Mike Hesson

Thankfully, the early signs are encouraging. In the first T20I of the Bangladesh series, Pakistan came out swinging — and not in the reckless way Imad warned about.

Batting first, they piled up 201/7 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. Captain Salman Ali Agha led from the front with a solid 56, while Shadab Khan (48) and youngster Hasan Nawaz (44) chipped in with impactful knocks. Even Mohammad Haris added fireworks at the end with a brisk 31 off 18 balls.

But the real hero? Hasan Ali. Back in green after a year, he bowled a sensational spell of 5/30 — his first-ever T20I five-wicket haul — to dismantle Bangladesh for 164.

Shadab, with his all-round brilliance, was named Player of the Match, and Pakistan cruised to a 37-run victory, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Pakistan Will Never Accept Indian Hegemony: Asim Munir

pakistan-will-never-accept-indian-hegemony-says-asim-munir

Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir has firmly stated that Pakistan will never accept India’s dominance in the South Asian region.

Speaking to academics and vice chancellors, he emphasised the importance of national sovereignty, particularly regarding Kashmir and water rights, during a time of rising tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.

The army chief’s remarks come after a recent military confrontation, where Indian fighter jets launched airstrikes inside Pakistan, allegedly in response to an attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) that killed 26 tourists.

Pakistan denied involvement and offered help for an impartial investigation, but India proceeded with its offensive. In retaliation, Pakistan launched Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, targeting Indian air bases and military installations.

The conflict, officially named Marka-e-Haq (The Battle for Truth), lasted from April 22 to May 10.

During the talk, Field Marshal Asim Munir declared that Pakistan will never abandon the cause of Kashmir, calling it a core national issue.

He said India’s actions, such as revoking Kashmir’s autonomy in 2019 and the recent military aggression, have failed to suppress the issue on the global stage.

He also warned India against violating the Indus Waters Treaty, calling water a “red line” for Pakistan. ”Pakistan would treat any such attempt as an act of war” he stated.

Army Chief Addressed Internal Security Situation

The army chief also addressed internal security, particularly the situation in Balochistan. He blamed the violence on Indian-backed proxies, calling them “agents of disruption” and not true Baloch.

Calling for unity, Gen Munir stressed that Pakistan’s strength lies in its institutions and all should function constitutionally and without political interference.

He praised educators, saying they play a key role in shaping future generations. “Teachers are Pakistan’s greatest asset,” he said, attributing his own values to his parents and teachers.

The session ended with full support for the armed forces from the academic community, who praised their role in ensuring Pakistan’s safety and sovereignty.

Federal Budget to be Announced on June 10

federal-budget-to-be-announced-on-june-10

Advisor to the Finance Minister, Khurram Schehzad, confirmed that the federal budget for 2025–26 will be presented on June 10, 2025. He rejected media reports that claimed the Eid-al-Adha holidays could delay the budget.

Several media outlets suggested that the budget, originally expected on June 2, might be shifted to June 12 due to Eid al-Adha falling on June 7. These reports pointed to possible scheduling issues caused by the holidays.

Schehzad cleared the confusion in a post on X. He stated, “The June 10, 2025, release of the next Federal Budget FY26 is on track as previously stated.” He added that the Pakistan Economic Survey FY25 will also be released as planned on June 9, 2025.

Finance Secretary Imdadullah Bosal confirmed the same. While speaking to the media on Thursday, he said the budget will be announced on June 10. He noted that the Annual Plan Coordination Committee (APCC) meeting date is still undecided.

He also said the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting date may change, but the budget date is fixed.

Earlier this week, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced that the Zil Hajj moon was not sighted. This means Eid al-Adha will be observed on June 7. The government usually declares three public holidays for Eid al-Adha.

During these days, people perform religious rituals, including animal sacrifice. This year, the third day of Eid will fall on June 9, the same day the government plans to release the Economic Survey.

Despite the Eid holidays, the Finance Ministry has assured that both the federal budget and the economic survey will be presented on their scheduled dates.

President Zardari Signs Bill Prohibiting Child Marriage into Law

president-zardari-signs-child-marriage-restraint-bill-into-law

President Asif Ali Zardari has signed the Child Marriage Restraint Bill, 2025, officially making it a law. This legislation sets the minimum legal age for marriage at 18 for both boys and girls.

Under the new law, no Nikkah khuwan (marriage registrar) is allowed to perform a marriage ceremony if either the bride or groom is under 18. If a Nikkah khuwan does so, they can face up to one year in jail and a fine of Rs100,000.

The law also states that any man over the age of 18 who marries a girl under 18 can be sentenced to up to three years of rigorous imprisonment.

If a court is informed that an underage marriage is taking place, it must act to stop it. The person who reports such a marriage can request confidentiality, and the court is required to protect them.

The bill was first introduced in the National Assembly by PPP MNA Sharmila Faruqui. Later, it was presented in the Senate by Senator Sherry Rehman.

President Zardari Signs Child Marriage Restraint Bill Into Law

Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Rejected the Bill

However, the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has rejected the bill, calling it un-Islamic.

“The CII at its meeting termed the Child Marriage Restraint Bill, which was moved by Sharmila Faruqui MNA in the National Assembly as un-Islamic,” CII stated.

They argued that setting an age limit and declaring marriage under 18 as abuse does not match Islamic teachings.

Although the CII acknowledged issues related to underage marriages and agreed that the practice should be discouraged, it rejected the bill entirely.

The council also pointed out that the bill was not shared with the CII for review before being passed.

Pakistan ranks sixth in the world for the highest number of child brides. Around 19 million girls are married before turning 18.

Nearly half of them became pregnant before adulthood. Only 13% of married girls completed secondary school, compared to 44% of those who remained unmarried.

Sarfaraz Jokes About Coaching Credits After Hasan Ali’s Stunning Spell

sarfaraz-jokes-about-coaching-hasan-ali

Hasan Ali marked his return to international T20 cricket with a sizzling five-wicket haul against Bangladesh, helping Pakistan seal a 37-run win in the series opener.

And guess who claimed the credit with a cheeky smile? None other than former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed.

A Training Buddy and a Bit of Banter

Shortly after Hasan’s match-winning spell, Sarfaraz lit up Instagram with a humorous post featuring a picture of the two training together during PSL 10. His caption? Pure gold.

“I made you train, and this [comeback] is the result of it, understand, Hasoo,” Sarfaraz wrote, tagging Hasan and giving fans a wholesome dose of nostalgia and laughter.

It’s the kind of camaraderie that fans love to see—two teammates who’ve shared dressing rooms, trophies, and now, light-hearted bragging rights.

Hasan Ali Returns From Injury

Hasan’s return to the Pakistan T20I squad wasn’t easy. After a painful elbow injury during the County Championship last year, his road to recovery was anything but smooth. But his performance in PSL 10, where he emerged as the joint second-highest wicket-taker, reignited faith in his abilities.

And in his very first game back, he delivered big time. His spell of 5 wickets, including the early scalps of Parvez Emon and Tanzid Hasan, followed by a clinical clean-up job, showed the same fire he brought during his breakout years.

Sarfaraz Ahmed, the Mentor, Again

Sarfaraz Ahmed and Hasan Ali go way back—from the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy glory days to countless PSL matches together for Quetta Gladiators. So, it wasn’t just a joke. Sarfaraz’s pride in Hasan’s comeback was evident in his follow-up post.

“Great comeback, Hasso Jani! Your dedication and hard work paid off. Well done, young man. Keep it up.”

That’s a captain speaking. One who has seen the highs and lows of his teammate’s journey.

While Hasan grabbed the headlines, Sarfaraz didn’t forget the rest. He applauded the overall team performance, singling out Shadab Khan, Mohammad Haris, and Salman Ali Agha for their roles in Pakistan’s convincing win.

“Congratulations Team Pakistan. Good start to the series by the grace of Almighty Allah. Hasan Ali making us proud once again. Shaddy, Agha, Haris — well played boys and good luck for the next two games.”

With Pakistan leading the three-match series 1-0, the second T20I at Gaddafi Stadium promises more action. And with Hasan Ali back in rhythm—and Sarfaraz keeping tabs—you can bet the fans will be watching closely.

Israel-India Collaboration in Operation Sindoor Revealed

israel-india-collaboration-in-operation-sindoor-revealed-hamid-mir-cites-zee-news-report

Senior journalist Hamid Mir has shared a report aired by Indian broadcaster Zee News, revealing that Israel partnered with India in a military campaign known as Operation Sindoor.

He presented parts of the Indian media report during his show on Geo News.

According to the Zee News report, Israeli defense personnel and advisors were part of both the strategic planning and execution stages of Operation Sindoor.

The report described the cooperation as part of the growing defence ties between India and Israel. These ties have strengthened over the years through joint military exercises, technology sharing, and counterterrorism efforts.

While the exact details of Operation Sindoor remain unclear, the report suggested that the operation included active collaboration between the two nations’ defence forces.

“The Zee News segment reportedly presented the partnership as part of enhanced defence cooperation between New Delhi and Tel Aviv,” as reported in the news.

Neither the Indian nor the Israeli governments have officially responded to the claims made in the report. However, this alleged collaboration is expected to raise concerns in Pakistan, especially in Islamabad.

The broadcast has triggered new discussions in Pakistan about the impact of these defence ties on regional security.

Hamid Mir’s decision to highlight this report has brought the issue further into the public spotlight, and it may lead to a stronger response from Pakistani officials in the coming days.

The information shared by Hamid Mir, and originally reported by Zee News, may not have full official backing, but the concerns surrounding regional stability and military partnerships are once again in focus.

4 Killed, 10 Injured As Heavy Rain Hits KP

4-killed-10-injured-as-heavy-rain-hits-kp

Heavy rain on Thursday led to four deaths and left ten people injured in several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Lightning strikes and collapsing buildings caused the incidents.

Bilal Ahmad Faizi, the spokesperson for Rescue 1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, told that Mohmand and Mardan districts reported the casualties.

“Two people were killed while one was injured in a lightning strike in Mohmand,” Faizi said. “The Rescue 1122 control room acted quickly after the report came in and sent a medical response team to the site.”

The team gave first aid to the injured person and took him to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Nawagai. Faizi said they moved the two bodies to District Headquarters Hospital Ghalnai after legal formalities.

He also said, “Rescue 1122 medical, fire and disaster teams are performing relief operations.” Some roads got blocked by fallen trees, but rescue teams and local residents are working to clear them.

In Takht-i-Bahi, a ceiling collapse killed a mother and daughter and injured a girl, said a Rescue 1122 report. A similar accident in Katlang Qasmi left a 60-year-old woman seriously hurt.

A wall collapsed on Bakhshali Cham Dheri Road, seriously injuring 15-year-old Abdul Salam. In Manga, three people suffered serious injuries when another wall gave way.

“Rescue 1122 said its medical teams gave first aid to all the wounded and shifted them to nearby hospitals,” the statement added.

The World Meteorological Organisation warned that South Asia will likely see more heavy rain and hotter temperatures during this year’s June to September southwest monsoon.

Earlier this week, storms and strong winds struck parts of KP and Punjab, killing three people and injuring several others.

FBR Seizes Rs. 80 Million Directly From Kababjees’ Accounts Without Any Warning

fbr-seizes-rs-80-million-directly-from-kababjees-accounts-without-any-warning

MNA Ikhtiar Baig informed the National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue on Thursday that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) had recovered over Rs. 80 million from the accounts of Kababjees restaurant in Karachi without providing an opportunity for hearing in various forums.

Baig expressed concern over the harassment faced by the business community due to the FBR’s actions.

FBR Chairman Rashid Langrial assured the committee that he would investigate the matter regarding the recovery from Kababjees accounts. Committee member Mirza Iftikhar Baig raised the issue during a session chaired by Nafeesa Shah.

The chairman was unaware of the specific case but assured the committee that he would look into the situation and update them after consulting the relevant FBR field office.

This development underscores the increasing scrutiny of businesses by tax authorities in Pakistan and highlights the importance for companies to maintain transparent financial practices to avoid similar situations.

The FBR’s recent actions, including the seizure of smuggled goods worth Rs. 106.08 billion in the 2023-24 fiscal year, reflect its intensified efforts to curb financial irregularities and enforce tax compliance across various sectors.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how Kababjees will respond and whether this incident will lead to broader discussions about the FBR’s methods and the rights of businesses under Pakistan’s tax laws.

Nepra has approved K-Electric’s request to incorporate unrecovered bills into its consumer tariff, starting with a recovery shortfall of 6.75% in 2023-24. This percentage will gradually decline to 3.5% by 2029-30.

For FY24, Nepra set K-Electric’s base tariff at Rs40 per unit, which is about 40% higher than the national average tariff of around Rs28 per unit for public sector companies in 2025-26. This difference is passed on to taxpayers through a tariff differential subsidy.

In its determination, Nepra shifted K-Electric’s tariff to account for recovery losses instead of the previous 100% recovery. Nepra also set annual targets for K-Electric to improve bill collection, with the aim to reach 96.5% by 2030.

However, the Ministry of Energy opposed the proposed recovery allowance and recommended a lower recovery ratio, starting with 96.7%.

The overall average tariff for K-Electric in FY24 is Rs39.97 per unit, factoring in power purchase, transmission, distribution, and supply margins.

K-Electric will source 48% of its power from the national grid, 42% from its own generation and 9.9% from private suppliers. Nepra has set K-Electric’s revenue requirement at Rs606.92 billion for FY24, including costs for recovery loss and operations.

Separately, Nepra approved K-Electric’s two solar projects with a combined capacity of 150MW. The projects will generate cost savings of Rs2.3 billion annually and foreign exchange savings of $17.01 million each year, totaling $425.2 million over their lifespan.

Andrew Tate and his Brother Faces Rape and Trafficking Charges: UK Prosecutors

andrew-tate-and-his-brother-faces-rape-and-trafficking-charges-uk-prosecutors

Controversial influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan face charges in the UK for rape, assault and human trafficking, as prosecutors confirmed on Wednesday. The Crown Prosecution Service approved the charges in January 2024, but they were only made public recently.

Andrew, 38, faces ten criminal charges in the UK, including rape, bodily harm, trafficking, and controlling prostitution related to three women. His brother Tristan, 36, faces eleven similar charges involving one woman.

Prosecutors announced, “The UK issued a European arrest warrant in 2024, and the Romanian courts approved the extradition of Andrew and Tristan Tate.” However, they must first resolve ongoing cases in Romania before extradition can happen.

Romanian authorities have charged the Tate brothers with additional offenses, such as trafficking minors, engaging in sexual activities with a minor, and money laundering. Both brothers, who hold dual UK and US citizenship, deny all the charges.

The brothers traveled to Florida in February, marking their first trip abroad since their 2022 arrest in Romania. Romanian officials accuse Andrew, Tristan, and two women of forming a criminal group in 2021 to sexually exploit victims.

In the UK, Andrew faces a civil lawsuit from four British women who accuse him of rape and coercive control.

Andrew Tate, who previously ran a webcam business in the UK, gained public attention in 2016 when he appeared on the reality show Big Brother. He was removed from the show after a controversial video surfaced.

Tate later shifted to social media, where he shares his extreme views on masculinity. He has a large following on X (formerly Twitter), where he often uses offensive and discriminatory language to promote his beliefs.

Drama Erupts as Landon Nickerson Cheats on Pregnant Fiancée Wizard Liz

drama-erupts-as-landon-nickerson-cheats-on-pregnant-fiancee-wizard-liz

“We live in a world where even Wizard Liz gets cheated on,” said one X user. “This is like 9/11 for women,” added another. Yes, if you already can’t tell, the internet broke after THE Wizard Liz (the girl boss icon of Gen-Z) got cheated on. That too, while being 4 months pregnant.

How does one even trust in love anymore? Well, maybe by idolising better love stories rather than influencers, but that’s a topic for another day.

When the News First Broke

The news first broke on May 27, 2025 when the Youtuber took it to her story to announce her break up. The very first story had Liz referencing to a latest video that “gave her the signs she ignored.” The video was of a Q&A between her and her fiance, Landon Nickson and they both were discussing their thoughts on cheating.

This was followed by another story where Liz officially denounced their engagement. Why? Because the man that was once claiming he “hated cheating” and was constantly emphasising on being a “green flag,” had ended up cheating.

Here is what Liz has disclosed so far.

How Landon Cheated on His Fiancée and the Mother of His Kid

According to Liz, Nickerson maintained a secret Snapchat account to communicate with another woman and wanted to hook up with her. The girl later contacted one of Liz’s friends and provided evidence of the interaction.

Liz noted that only days before the betrayal came to light, Nickerson had been with her in London, professing his love and commitment. “He made a whole book about how much he loves me,” she wrote.

What was really shocking here was that Liz also mentioned how her fiancé apparently referred to their relationship as “fake” to this new girl he was trying to hook up with.

The mother of your kids is “fake”?

Here is that full statement:

The Youtuber also mentioned how she will be selling her engagement ring (that is worth $100k) and donating it to single moms. What a power move.

Landon Still Has Crazy Audacity!

After the news broke and the internet went crazy over Landon, he went on to his Instagram story to also share his side of the story. But honestly, it only made matters worse for him.

He was seen downplaying the severity of the situation and trying to manipulate the internet by stating that it was just “5 to 10 mins of his life” and that the person was “irrelevant.” He also said that it was just a “mistake” and that “human beings can make mistakes.”

Obviously, this only worsened the matter, because why would you make a fake ID for some ‘irrelevant?” Oh, and most importantly, cheating is never a mistake.

Of course, the internet wasn’t ready to take this, and then Landon ended up deleting all the videos and instead posted just a story with his ex-fiancée Liz (Landon read the room already).

Amid All the Controversy, This is Clear: They Will Always Blame the Woman

Ever since the controversy broke out, the internet has been divided. Ironically, nobody seems to be siding with Landon, but they still seem to be hating on Liz.

Many users started judging Liz’s religiosity and how she “deserved it” because she was “apparently” a Muslim and did something Haram (mind you, we still don’t know her relationship with Islam and neither has she been seen talking about it openly).

They even compared this with Andrew Tate’s rape and human trafficking allegations.

Others claimed that Liz and Landon were a couple that was made on cheating to start with, so it was bound to fail, hence Liz “deserved it” again. This was debunked by Liz when she took to her Instagram to clear the narrative and this rumour.

She clarified how every time they came in contact, neither of them was in a relationship.

“I want to clarify something I have been sending and lies being spread: Landon was ABSOLUTELY SINGLE when he met me,” Liz said. ‘Stop this false narrative that’s just even more harmful people love to make up shit weird af.”

This just reeks of the double standards of society. People will discuss anything but look at the actual problem at hand. Why? Because it’s easier to raise a question at a woman and bring in matters between her and her creator specifically when she was wronged.

How TikTok Propelled Imman’s Pyariwalls Business From One Room To A Recognized Brand

Before TikTok, PyariWalls invested heavily in ads but struggled to reach people. After joining the platform as a trial.

In 2018, when life felt like it had hit rock bottom, one woman decided to build something no one could take away from her: her own business. From that emotional turning point, PyariWalls was born in a small room with big dreams. What started as a humble venture has now grown into a recognizable multi-city brand, powered not just by quality products but also by one of the most unexpected engines of growth: TikTok.

“I didn’t have a blueprint,” Imman Ali recalls. “I had passion, purpose, and a phone.” Every rupee earned went straight back into the business. With consistent online activity and a laser focus on quality, PyariWalls began expanding, first from city to city, and now toward bigger goals.

“It gave PyariWalls a voice, a face, and a vibe,” she says. “It wasn’t just about selling anymore. It became about storytelling, about connection.” One particular video on TikTok, where she openly shared her “zero-to-hero” journey, became the turning point. It resonated with thousands who weren’t just watching a product pitch, they were witnessing a story they could feel part of.

Before TikTok, PyariWalls invested heavily in ads but struggled to reach people. After joining the platform as a trial, everything changed. The organic reach was overwhelming. And unlike polished corporate content, PyariWalls offered something else: raw reality. Wins, failures, packaging days, and emotional moments, it all went online.

“TikTok isn’t just marketing for us,” she explains. “It’s a conversation with our community.” She engages constantly, replying to comments, going live, even shedding tears with customers who relate deeply to her journey.

Now recognized in malls and markets, she’s gone from being “the woman with a dream” to a digital force. The brand’s reach, recognition, and sales have all skyrocketed. Yet, with all the success, she hasn’t forgotten her roots. Today, she’s also teaching e-commerce, helping other aspiring entrepreneurs start their journeys. “I know what it’s like to begin with nothing,” she says. “That’s why I want to be the person I needed when starting.”

Her advice to small business owners? “You’ll feel scared in the beginning, and things might get complicated, but take the first step anyway,” she suggests. She plans to expand to bigger stores in multiple cities and use TikTok as a platform to continue inspiring and empowering others.

Taliban: Fighting in Pakistan Without Orders Violates Sharia

taliban-fighting-in-pakistan-without-orders-violates-sharia

The Taliban administration in Afghanistan warned rebel groups not to fight outside the country without formal permission.

At a recent event, Taliban commander Saeedullah Saeed said, “Fighting against the orders of the Amir, especially in countries like Pakistan, is not acceptable.”

He said those who join armed groups to fight abroad aren’t true mujahideen. Only the state Amir has the right to declare or allow jihad.

Saeed reminded that the Taliban had already banned fighters from entering Pakistan. He said ignoring this order is religious disobedience.

He added that anyone involved in illegal jihad spreads conflict and violates Islamic values. Such actions don’t qualify as true jihad.

Saeed also criticised attacks done in the name of jihad. He said they defy both Sharia law and the Afghan Emirate’s leadership.

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, called his three-day China visit “very successful.” He said the trip had urgent and clear goals.

Dar told the media this was more than a routine diplomatic visit. He had key meetings with Chinese leaders and joined trilateral talks with Afghanistan.

He said all three countries agreed to stop terrorist groups like TTP and BLA from using any country’s land to attack another. “No terrorist organisation—either TTP, BLA or others—would be permitted to use any country’s earth against another, he said.

Dar also shared updates on CPEC Phase 2. He said, “We have effectively set the conditions for more cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.”

He said the talks were detailed and showed strong progress. He expects deeper cooperation in the coming years.

More Players, Less Clarity: Pakistan’s T20I Team in Turmoil

hasan-ali-makes-roaring-return-to-international-cricket-Pakistan-t20i-team

If you’ve blinked during a Pakistan T20I match since the start of 2024, chances are you’ve missed a new debutant.

In what can only be described as a selection whirlwind, Pakistan has introduced a staggering 38 players in just 33 T20 Internationals since the start of 2024 — more than any other cricketing nation in the same period.

Add to that 10 different opening pairs, and the picture becomes clear: the team is in a relentless state of experimentation, desperately searching for the right combination with less than a year left until the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup.

But amid all this chopping and changing, one thing remains worryingly absent — clarity.

An Assembly Line of Debutants

Let’s put things into perspective.

  • Pakistan: 38 debutants in 33 T20Is
  • India: 35 debutants in 31 matches
  • South Africa: 31 in 23 games
  • New Zealand: 30 in 27 games
  • Bangladesh: Only 22 in 28 matches

While other nations are trying out new players, no one’s doing it at the speed, or scale, that Pakistan is.

At first glance, this might look like depth-building. Maybe it’s a bold strategy to prepare for the 2026 T20 World Cup. But dig a little deeper, and it starts to look like something else: an identity crisis.

Opening Pair? Still Searching

The musical chairs don’t stop with debutants. Since the beginning of 2024, Pakistan has changed its T20I opening pair ten times.

In a format where stability at the top is crucial, this constant chopping and changing signals a team still in search of its ideal combination, just months before a World Cup.

One game it’s Babar and Saim. The next, Rizwan walks in with Ayub. Then Fakhar gets a shot. And just when you think someone’s nailed down a spot, a new face is tried out again.

There’s experimentation — and then there’s uncertainty. This feels dangerously close to the latter.

A World Cup Is Not the Time to Gamble

The 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is just under nine months away. Co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, it kicks off on February 8. That’s not far at all in cricketing terms.

You’d expect teams to be locking down their combinations by now. Settling their core. Fine-tuning roles.

But Pakistan? Still flipping through a thick manual titled “Trial & Error.”

Too Many Cooks or Recipe for Success?

Pakistan has never been short of talent. The bench strength is rich, especially in the fast bowling department. Youngsters keep coming through the domestic circuit and PSL. Giving them opportunities isn’t wrong.

But excessive shuffling can backfire. Chemistry takes time. Understanding between players takes matches, not nets, to build. T20 cricket is fast, sure. But building a cohesive team? That takes patience and consistency.

Pakistan risks heading into yet another global tournament with a squad still unsure of its roles — and a management team making last-minute changes that hurt more than help.

It’s high time the selectors and management draw a line. Yes, rotate players. Yes, reward form. But it’s crucial to finalise a pool of 15-20 players who will likely feature in the World Cup — and let them gel.

Hailey Bieber Sells Rhode to Elf for $I Billion!

hailey-bieber-sells-rhode-to-elf-for-i-billion

If you are part of Gen-Z and a makeup enthusiast, I’m sure you have heard of or used Rhode beauty by Hailey Bieber. Launched in 2022, Rhode has become one of the most popular makeup brands among today’s generation.

In a recent post by Hailey Bieber, it was announced that e.l.f. Beauty is acquiring Rhode for approximately $1 billion, providing the budget cosmetic retailer with access to a celebrity-endorsed product line.

A Brand that Stood Out

Rhode gained a cult status quite quickly after its launch in 2022. It became widely popular not just among the Gen Z but also the millennials who couldn’t get enough of the sleek packaging and simple-but-effective formulas.

Products like the Peptide Lip Treatment and Barrier Restore Cream flew off shelves and across social media, making Rhode a favourite overnight.

Over time, Hailey proved she was more than just a pretty face. Rhode was her baby, named after her middle name (Hailey Rhode Bieber)—and it was deeply personal. In interviews, she often spoke about her vision for accessible, high-performance skincare that felt luxurious but was still affordable.

So, Why did She Sell It?

The deal between Rhode and e.l.f. came as a surprise to those in the beauty industry and otherwise. In a joint statement, Hailey and e.l.f. described the move as a “strategic partnership.”

“This is about scaling the brand and reaching more people,” Hailey said. “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built, and now with e.l.f.’s resources and expertise, we can take Rhode to the next level.”

But it Makes Prefect Sense

For e.l.f. Beauty, the acquisition makes perfect sense. The beauty company has a reputation for socially aware marketing and exciting product drops. Pairing that with Rhode’s already-loyal following and Hailey’s un-wavering influence seems like a match straight out of dreams.

Industry analysts are calling the acquisition one of the most notable beauty deals in recent years. Not only does it cements Hailey as a serious entrepreneur, but also shows that celebrity-founded brands aren’t just about big names, they’re building real equity.

And this is not going unnoticed.

Rhode is Not Going Anywhere!

Simply put, Rhode isn’t going anywhere. Hailey will remain creatively involved, and e.l.f. says it will keep the brand’s identity intact. Sigh of relief!

If anything, you can expect wider availability, global expansion, and possibly some exciting new product drops. In fact, as Hailey said in her Instagram post, “This is only the beginning.”
