Social media has a knack for blowing things out of proportion — and this week, it nearly turned a friendship into a feud. After a few eagle-eyed fans noticed that Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha doesn’t follow Babar Azam on Instagram, rumours started flying.
Some speculated that the new skipper had unfollowed his childhood friend after taking over the reins and that Babar’s absence from the T20I squad was somehow personal.
But Salman didn’t let the buzz go unchecked for long.
Salman Ali Agha Sets the Record Straight
Speaking to reporters after Pakistan’s 3-0 T20I whitewash of Bangladesh, Salman Ali Agha addressed the rumour head-on — and with a smile.
“Babar and I go way back — we’ve been friends since 2008, from our school days,” Salman clarified during the post-match press conference in Lahore.
“There was no social media back then, and to be honest, I never followed him online. So the talk about unfollowing doesn’t even make sense.”
That’s as straightforward as it gets. No drama, no hidden agendas — just another case of social media spinning stories out of thin air.
On the Field: Pakistan’s Fresh Energy Pays Off
While the internet was busy speculating about off-field relationships, Salman’s young team was doing all the talking on the pitch.
Pakistan dominated the series against Bangladesh, winning 3-0 with a bold, aggressive brand of cricket that fans haven’t seen in a while. And the new skipper couldn’t be prouder.
“I’m really pleased with how the youngsters have stepped up. Our goal is simple — we want to play cricket that entertains the fans and puts the opposition under pressure,” he said.
Eyes on the Road Ahead
The captain was quick to shift focus toward upcoming challenges. Pakistan now heads to Bangladesh again, followed by a tour of the West Indies. With spin-friendly pitches expected in both regions, Salman Ali Agha hinted at some tactical flexibility.
“We’ll be heading to Bangladesh next, then to the West Indies. The pitches there could demand more spin options,” he noted.
And while the Asia Cup is still up in the air, Dubai seems like a likely host — a venue Salman believes suits Pakistan well.
Final Word: No Drama, Just Cricket
So, to everyone refreshing Instagram feeds and chasing rumours — Salman Ali Agha has spoken. There’s no rift with Babar Azam. Just two longtime friends going through different phases in their careers.
And more importantly, under Salman’s leadership, Pakistan’s T20I team is starting to look exciting again. Young guns, bold cricket, and a clear message: we’re here to entertain and win.

At Zehri Auditorium in Quetta, PM Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir addressed a grand jirga of tribal elders. They vowed to eliminate terrorism and dismantle Indian-sponsored proxy networks in Balochistan.
The Prime Minister’s Office said the jirga aimed to deepen engagement with tribal leadership while addressing current security challenges. Attention centred on Indian-funded groups that attempt to disrupt peace and halt progress in the region.
Blaming India directly, PM Shehbaz said terrorist organisations were exploiting local issues to gain public support. He named one such group as “Fitna Al-Hindustan.”
“The enemies of peace will find no room to operate inside Pakistan,” he declared. With total public backing, the government, armed forces, law enforcement, and administration would finish this fight and defeat terrorism completely.
He also commended tribal elders for supporting national unity. Maintaining close ties with communities, he noted, was key to isolating terrorist elements and denying them influence.
“We have to make sure every citizen benefits from the trickle-down impact of government development programs,” he said.
“Historically, the people of Balochistan have helped to preserve Pakistan’s integrity; we expect their ongoing alertness against foreign-backed subversion.”
Army’s Response to Proxy Warfare
Field Marshal Munir, while addressing the jirga, warned of India’s direct involvement in a proxy war.“This Indian-sponsored proxy war is no more covert; it is an open and wicked act of terrorism targeting our people, our development, and our peace,” he said.
According to him, the army holds solid proof of Indian support for terrorist groups in Balochistan.
He assured, “The Pakistan Army, with the unflagging support of the country and the bold Baloch people, will face and destroy every opponent, foreign or domestic, that dares to challenge our sovereignty.”
Both leaders saluted the courage of law enforcement and security personnel. PM Shehbaz promised full state support for the families of martyrs. He vowed that terrorists, along with their facilitators, would face justice.
The jirga concluded with tribal elders pledging their full support to the government and military for peace and development.
Earlier that day, PM Shehbaz visited the Command and Staff College Quetta. He interacted with faculty and student officers and highlighted the need for defence excellence.
He stressed strategic readiness, especially in areas like Balochistan, where Indian proxies continue efforts to destabilize the country.

Former Prime Minister and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif reached London after flying in from Minsk, Belarus. He landed at Luton Airport on a chartered flight. Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the UK, Dr. Faisal, received him upon arrival.
After landing, Nawaz Sharif travelled to the Avenfield Apartments with his son Hassan Nawaz. According to party sources, he plans to undergo medical checkups and celebrate Eid in the UK. Additionally, he will attend political meetings during this two-week visit.
While speaking to the media in London, he responded to reports about his health. “My health is absolutely good; false news has been spread,”Nawaz said. He made it clear that the rumours had no truth.
He also took the opportunity to praise Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. “Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is doing a great job and has gotten the wobbling economy back on its feet,” he said.
Nawaz emphasised that Pakistan is moving in the right direction under Shehbaz’s leadership.
Moreover, he encouraged citizens to support national progress. He added that every decision by the government is being made “on merit,” which ensures transparency and fairness.
He further praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for her performance.“Maryam is not doing anything in Punjab that goes against merit,” he noted. Nawaz stated that she has introduced fresh development benchmarks in the province.
Turning to Lahore’s development, he said several projects are underway to restore its original charm. “We will restore Lahore to its natural condition,” he promised. These efforts reflect the party’s focus on urban renewal.
When asked about Pakistan International Airlines, Nawaz called for strict action. He demanded accountability for those responsible for the national airline’s decline. During his visit, he will meet his personal doctor, Dr. Adnan, for regular tests.

NAB and government sources have denied rumours about releasing PTI founding chairman Imran Khan before Eid al-Adha. The News reported on Sunday that PTI officials also don’t expect his release.
Media and political circles have been buzzing with talk of a possible deal or court decision that could free Imran Khan early. But authorities have shut down those claims.
A NAB source confirmed, “No notice has been sent to NAB in any issue which might affect his bail or release before Eid.”He also said the court must hear the prosecution before granting relief, and that hasn’t happened yet.
Government officials repeated the denial. One senior official clearly said, “On the table, nothing is known, negotiated, or offered.”
Outside the Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi, Khan’s lawyer Naeem Haider Panjotha told reporters the release rumours are baseless. He said, “There is no offer, either in deals or in leniency. Rumours have no foundation.”
Despite clear statements, some PTI leaders and media analysts still believe Khan could get bail before Eid. They are hoping the Islamabad High Court hearing on June 5 will help.
Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, have asked the court to suspend their sentence in the Toshakhana case.
However, NAB sources said the court hasn’t issued a notice yet. Legal experts also pointed out that these cases usually take time and go through multiple hearings.
The larger legal situation also blocks any quick relief for Khan. The Islamabad High Court recently stated it won’t likely hear Khan’s appeal in 2025. He’s challenging a 14-year sentence in the £190 million Al-Qadir Trust case.
The IHC registrar’s office reported that Khan’s January 2025 appeal is still in the motion stage. The court is following a policy that prioritises older appeals.
Right now, the IHC is handling 279 convict appeals. These include 63 death penalty cases and 73 life sentences. Because of this backlog and NJPMC’s directive to handle older cases first, the court won’t hear Khan’s appeal this year.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge charged Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration with having “misled the country” about the loss of Indian planes during the recent war with Pakistan.
This statement came after India’s top general admitted Pakistan shot down Indian fighter jets, but did not give exact numbers.
Kharge tweeted on X, “The Modi government has misled the country. The fog of battle is clearing now.”
He said India’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Anil Chauhan, admitted this during an interview in Singapore. Kharge added that these events raise serious questions that need answers.
In the wake of the remarks made by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) in Singapore in an interview, there are some very important questions which need to be asked.
These can only be asked if a Special Session of the Parliament is immediately convened.
He demanded that Parliament hold a Special Session immediately. Furthermore, he urged “a thorough examination of defence readiness by an autonomous expert committee,” similar to the Kargil review committee.
Uttam Reddy, Telangana’s Minister and Congress leader, also called for transparency. According to Deccan Herald, Reddy said, “The government must stop denying that the fighter planes were downed. The CDS himself noted that.”
Reddy, a former air force pilot, noted Air Marshal Bharti had also hinted at this in a briefing with the DGMO.
On May 6-7, the Pakistan Air Force shot down Indian jets. This happened after India launched missile strikes at six Pakistani sites: Subhan Mosque in Bahawalpur’s Ahmedpur East, Bilal Mosque in Muzaffarabad, Abbas Mosque in Kotli, Umalkura Mosque in Muridke, the village of Kotki Lohara in Sialkot district, and Shakargarh.
Within 40 minutes, Pakistan downed six Indian jets—three Rafale fighters, one Su-30MKI, one Mirage 2000, and one MiG-29. Importantly, none of Pakistan’s planes crossed the border or engaged in direct combat.
Then, on May 8, India sent drones that Pakistan intercepted. On May 9-10, both countries struck each other’s airbases. However, after the U.S. stepped in and brokered a ceasefire on May 10, the fighting stopped.
This ceasefire came after a week of rising tension. India had continued strikes even though Pakistan requested a neutral probe into the Pahalgam attack.

An explosion hit a Rescue 1122 building under construction in the Nekam Kaki area of Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Local police said terrorists planted an explosion inside the structure, causing significant damage. However, no casualties have been reported so far. Authorities are investigating to uncover details and the motive behind the attack.
In a separate string of attacks over 24 hours in Bannu, armed assailants killed at least seven people, including police officers. According to the police spokesperson, five others, including civilians and policemen, sustained injuries in the firing incidents.
Back in April, terrorists attacked the Saddar Police Station in Bannu. The assault injured Station House Officer (SHO) Waseem Sajjad and Constable Hayatullah. Officials shifted both to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for medical treatment.
In response, police forces returned fire and killed one attacker, though another managed to escape. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Sajjad Khan and District Police Officer (DPO) Saleem Abbas Kulachi visited the hospital to support the injured officers.
On April 22, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police foiled a major terrorist attack on the Dharey Pul police post in Bannu. The Central Police Office (CPO) said police on duty acted swiftly and stopped the attempt.
The CPO reported that a group of 18 to 19 terrorists tried a coordinated attack. Some came on eight motorcycles, while others crawled toward the post. They opened fire from different directions.
The attackers, linked to Fitna al-Khawarijs, aimed to destroy an IT camera during the strike. However, a strong police response forced them to retreat without completing their objective.

PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah said Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan played an important part in developing Pakistan’s atomic bomb, but said he should not be called a “hero.”
In a recent interview, Sanaullah stated, “The credit for initiating Pakistan’s nuclear programme goes to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. However, starting a programme and developing it are not as significant as reaching the moment when a state declares itself a nuclear power through a successful test.”
He explained that the most important moment for Pakistan’s nuclear power came on May 28, 1998, when nuclear tests were carried out under the leadership of then-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
“Had that moment not come then, it might still have been delayed to this day,” he stated.
In response to some claims that Nawaz Sharif did not want to conduct the nuclear tests, he denied them. “How could the Prime Minister of the country oppose it? These claims are made out of jealousy,” he said.
Sanaullah said Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan received the credit he deserved. He added, “He will always be remembered for his role. However, he cannot be given the title of a leader or called a hero. If anyone deserves to be called the hero of Pakistan’s nuclear programme, it is Nawaz Sharif.”

In a significant development, India’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan has acknowledged that Pakistan downed Indian fighter jets during the recent conflict.
Speaking to Bloomberg TV at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, General Chauhan admitted, “We made mistakes during the air battle, which we have since realised and corrected.”
He emphasised the importance of understanding the reasons behind the losses rather than focusing on the number of jets downed, stating, “What is important is that, not the jet being down, but why they were being down.”
General Chauhan dismissed Pakistan’s claim of downing six Indian jets, including three Rafales, as “absolutely incorrect.”However, he did not provide an alternative figure.
He highlighted that after initial setbacks, India revised its tactics and conducted precision strikes deep into Pakistan between May 7 and May 10, successfully penetrating air defenses and hitting key air bases.
He asserted that these operations were carried out without any consideration of nuclear escalation, stating, “There’s a lot of space before that nuclear threshold is crossed.”
Adding to the discourse, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy admitted in a podcast interview that Pakistan shot down five Indian Air Force jets during the conflict.
He attributed the losses to the superior performance of Chinese-made fighter jets used by Pakistan, stating, “Pakistan shot down five of our aircraft using Chinese fighter jets.”
Swamy criticised the performance of the French-made Rafale jets and alleged corruption in their procurement, asserting that an investigation is unlikely under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
French Military Addressed the Incident
During a routine press briefing in Paris, a French military spokesman also addressed the incident. He said that the available details remain unclear and that many aspects still require confirmation.
He explained that France is closely monitoring Rafale’s performance in this conflict and remains in direct contact with its partner India to gather accurate information.
Reports indicate that hundreds of aircraft engaged in the battle, and France aims to extract as many lessons as possible from this experience.
A terrorist attack triggered the conflict known as Operation Sindoor, was triggered by a terrorist attack in Indian-administered Kashmir on April 22, which killed 26 people.
India attributed the attack to Pakistan-backed terrorists and launched airstrikes on May 7 targeting alleged terrorist infrastructure across the border. Pakistan claimed to have downed six Indian jets in response.
Both nations declared a ceasefire on May 10 after intense fighting involving fighter jets, missiles, drones, and artillery.

The event featured addresses by prominent speakers, including former Pakistan Ambassador Ali Jehangir Siddiqui.
The inaugural Ivy Future of Pakistan Conference at Yale University brought together students from Ivy League institutions, including Harvard, Cornell, and Princeton, with academics, policymakers, and diplomats to showcase Pakistan’s pivotal role in global diplomacy and the Pakistani diaspora’s contributions to U.S. society.
The event featured addresses by prominent speakers, including former Pakistan Ambassador Ali Jehangir Siddiqui, alongside a panel of foreign policy experts exploring international partnerships.
In the context of Pakistan, Siddiqui stressed that the country must frame its diplomatic engagement around tangible contributions, including supply-chain partnerships and continued cooperation in counterterrorism, which remain essential to the broader bilateral equation. He stated that Pakistan has to strengthen its global standing by forging mutually beneficial ties with major powers, reinforcing its position as a key player in diplomacy.
Addressing the audience, Ambassador Siddiqui called for greater representation of Pakistani Americans in U.S. public institutions. He acknowledged significant progress, citing the election of Pakistani Americans as mayors and state senators in recent years, but stressed that sustained engagement is critical. “It’s about American citizens of Pakistani heritage securing a voice in the decisions that shape their lives,” Siddiqui said.
The conference served as a platform to advance dialogue on governance and diplomacy, strengthening U.S.-Pakistan ties through collaboration and the diaspora’s shared contributions.
Maybe our moms were right, it is in fact these phones. We have all had moments where the doom scrolling finally gets to us, and social media platforms, like WhatsApp, become too much.
On the one hand, the app keeps us connected. It’s how we share memes with friends, stay in the loop with family, and sometimes even get work done. On the other hand, it’s also where the endless notifications live. Those “Hey, did you see my message?” pings. The group chats that never sleep. The constant pressure to reply instantly. It’s exhausting.
If you’ve ever wished for a “pause” button on WhatsApp without having to go full ghost-mode (like uninstalling the app or turning off your phone), here’s some potentially good news: WhatsApp might soon let you take an actual break.
A WhatsApp Feature We Didn’t Know We Needed
According to recent updates spotted by tech watchers, WhatsApp is developing a “Logout” feature, allowing users to take a break from the app without deleting their account or losing their chat history.
Think of it like going on “Do Not Disturb” mode but for your WhatsApp life. You could still use your phone normally, but WhatsApp wouldn’t bother you unless you want it to.
This could be a game-changer for mental health, productivity and just general peace of mind.
Taking a Break from WhatsApp May Become Possible
Why It Matters
The truth is, being always on is draining. Even when we’re not replying, we’re mentally juggling unread messages. Taking a break can help us reset.
Other social platforms like Instagram and TikTok already allow users to pause notifications or even deactivate their accounts temporarily. WhatsApp, until now, hasn’t caught up in that department.
If the feature rolls out, it could mean:
No more pressure to respond immediately.
Fewer distractions during work, study, or downtime.
A healthier digital routine.
And honestly, isn’t it about time messaging apps gave us a bit of breathing room?
But What About Important WhatsApp Messages?
That’s a fair question. If you’re worried about missing something urgent, there’s a good chance this feature will come with customisation — like muting only specific chats or allowing priority messages through.
While nothing’s confirmed yet, user control will likely be a key part of it.
Also, just like airplane mode or focus settings, it’s not about cutting people off entirely — it’s about setting boundaries. And boundaries, especially in the digital age, are healthy.
What You Can Do Now
While we wait for the app to roll this feature out (fingers crossed it’s soon), there are still a few ways to manually take a break:
Mute chats or group notifications for a set period (up to 8 hours or even forever).
Archive chats you don’t want to see right now.
Turn off notifications completely from your phone’s settings.
Uninstall the app temporarily and reinstall it later. (Yes, your messages will come back, as long as your backups are in place.)
Whether it’s for a few hours of focus or a few days of mental clarity, having the option to pause WhatsApp without cutting ties completely would be a small update with a huge impact.

Harry Potter fans align, HBO has finally revealed the cast of its new Harry Potter series, and we can’t be happier with the casting. If you have grown up reading or watching Harry Potter, I’m sure this moment feels both nostalgic and equally exciting.
Let’s start with the role of Harry Potter, once portrayed by Daniel Radcliffe. It will now be played by Dominic McLaughlin. Harry’s best friends are Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, formerly portrayed by Rupert Grint and Emma Roberts.
In the new Harry Potter series, these characters will be played by Alastair Stout (as Ron) and Arabella Stanton (as Hermione).
Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter
For us 90s kids, Daniel will always be the OG Harry Potter, but it seems like there is a new Harry in town, and it’s Dominic McLaughlin.
Dominic is a Scottish actor who is pretty new in the industry. He is a screen newcomer and was selected through an open casting call for actors aged between 9 and 11. His previous experience includes roles in two upcoming shows, Gifted, a BBC series, and Grow, a Sky Original film.
Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter
Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger
“It’s Levi-o-sa, not Levio-sa!” Oh, what an iconic character and what an iconic dialogue!
The new Hermione will now be played by Arabella Stanton, an 11-year-old rising actress from Britain.
Stanton is best known for playing Matilda Wormwood in Matilda the Musical in London’s West End from 2023 to 2024. She also starred in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s play Starlight Express at Wembley Park Theatre in Wembley, England.
It’s safe to say that this young actress has already proven her acting skills and seems quite ready to take on the new role.
Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger
Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley
“Red hair and a hand-me-down cloak, you must be a Weasley!”
Ron wasn’t the smartest in the class or even outside the class, but there was something about the character that made us Potterheads fall in love with him. From the first movie, Rupert played the character with such dedication that Alastair Stout has big shoes to fill.
Stout isn’t a well-known or experienced face of the industry, as he has only been featured in an advertisement for Albert Bartlett potatoes. As reported by The Scotsman, Alastair played the role of the son at the diner in the restaurant.
Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley
The new Harry Potter cast is all set, and Potterheads around the world are super excited. Let’s hope the new cast does us justice.

Hamas’s rejection of the latest U.S. ceasefire proposal represents a principled stand against diplomatic theatre designed to legitimise Israeli aggression while offering Palestinians nothing but temporary respite from their ongoing oppression.
Hamas political bureau member Basem Naim told the Reuters news agency that the deal “does not meet any of our people’s demands, foremost among them, halting the war.”
“Nonetheless, the movement’s leadership is studying the response to the proposal with full national responsibility,” Naim added.
Rejecting False Solutions
Hamas’s decision to reject Steve Witkoff’s proposal should be understood within the context of decades of failed negotiations that have consistently favoured Israeli maximalist positions.
The organisation has learned from bitter experience that accepting flawed frameworks often legitimises the status quo while providing Israel time to consolidate territorial gains and strengthen its military position.
The current U.S. proposal, like its predecessors, seems to offer Israel security while asking for Palestinian concessions without addressing the fundamental causes of the conflict: occupation, siege, and systematic dispossession.
Hamas has witnessed how previous ceasefire agreements became tools for Israeli military planning rather than genuine peace processes.
The organisation’s leadership recognises that accepting inadequate terms now would weaken their negotiating position for future discussions while failing to secure meaningful relief for Palestinians.
Akiva Eldar, an Israeli political analyst, told Al Jazeera it was “unusual” for Israel to come out and agree to a proposal first, and that Netanyahu may be betting on the plan being impossible for Hamas to accept so that he can paint them as the “bad guys” and continue the war.
“It happened before… and Netanyahu put the blame on them,” Eldar said.
But how can Washington expect Hamas to trust American mediation when America remains Israel’s primary enabler?
The Siege Context
Any honest assessment of Hamas’s position must acknowledge the context of the siege that has turned Gaza into an open-air prison. Israel has also imposed a deadly, months-long blockade on humanitarian aid entering the Palestinian enclave, which UN officials say has pushed the population to the brink of famine.
The blockade constitutes collective punishment that violates international law and has created the humanitarian crisis that ceasefire negotiations purport to address.
The international community’s failure to enforce existing legal frameworks has created the current impasse. The organisation’s rejection serves notice that Palestinians will not surrender their rights for temporary relief.

JazzCash vs EasyPaisa – Which one is better?
To be frank, the answer depends on the user’s needs, whether one is a freelancer, shopkeeper, student, or simply someone who wants to avoid long queues for bills.
Let’s give both an equal chance and then make a calculated judgment.
What is JazzCash?
JazzCash was launched in November 2012 as MobiCash by Mobilink (now Jazz) in partnership with their subsidiary bank Mobilink Microfinance Bank. Fast forward to today, and it’s basically become the go-to mobile wallet for millions of Pakistanis.
So what can you actually do with it? Pretty much everything. Need to send money to your cousin in Lahore? Done. Forgot to pay your electricity bill again? No problem. Want to top up your phone credit at 2 AM?
JazzCash has got you covered. You can even use it for online shopping, which is pretty handy.
Another thing that stands out for JazzCash (especially for freelancers): Payoneer integration. Yes! Anyone working with international clients and getting paid through Payoneer can transfer that money straight into their JazzCash account.
What is an EasyPaisa?
EasyPaisa also deserves some serious credit. It was actually Pakistan’s pioneer mobile wallet.
Back in 2009, Telenor Microfinance Bank launched it as Pakistan’s very first mobile banking service. But here’s the clever part: they didn’t rely on fancy smartphones or apps that most people couldn’t afford or didn’t know how to use.
Instead, they opted for Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) channels using simple codes that can be dialed by any phone for Easypaisa. This way, people with the simplest of phones (especially those in rural areas) were able to send money to their loved ones.
They literally took banking to people who thought banking wasn’t for them.

Accessibility and Reach
Introduction and purpose? Check. Features? Check. But what about the accessibility and reach? This can play a huge role in making one better than the other. So let’s take a look.
Coverage and Availability of JazzCash
JazzCash has taken its accessibility pretty seriously. It has an extensive network, reaching urban centres and remote areas alike. That’s actually a huge deal in a country like Pakistan, where geography can be your biggest enemy when it comes to financial services.
It’s deeply integrated with Jazz network users but is also open to all telecom networks. This accessibility and availability of JazzCash has made it a preferred choice for many across the nation.
Coverage and Availability of Easypaisa
On the other hand, EasyPaisa has also been instrumental in addressing Pakistan’s financial inclusion challenges, particularly in rural communities.
The platform has strategically built an extensive network that reaches well beyond urban centres, ensuring that even Pakistan’s most remote regions have access to essential financial services.
It also works with all network users and has the advantage of deeper penetration in remote villages, thanks to Telenor’s infrastructure.
Transaction Security
Any service involving monetary transactions must implement maximum transactional security all over its platform, as this can make or break customers in the long run.
JazzCash’s Transaction Security
The platform has implemented comprehensive security frameworks that include advanced encryption technologies and multi-layered authentication protocols to safeguard every transaction.
Biometric verification is used for certain services. It also notifies users of each transaction via SMS and app alerts.
EasyPaisa’s Transaction Security
EasyPaisa offers two-factor authentication, fraud detection, real-time transaction monitoring and encryption. Its system can quickly identify unusual patterns or potentially fraudulent behaviour, providing an additional safety net for users’ financial operations.
It’s also considered slightly more aggressive in flagging suspicious activity and provides fast support in case of issues.
For EasyPaisa, this commitment to security has become a cornerstone of their reputation and a key factor in their widespread adoption throughout the country.
Mobile App Comparison
It is a “mobile wallet,” which means it has a mobile app too. So, how do they perform respectively?

JazzCash vs Easypaisa
Fee Structure
Every important thing has been covered, apart from the fee. These platforms must require some fee, right?
JazzCash Fees and Charges
JazzCash maintains a transparent fee policy, with charges varying based on the type and amount of transactions. Notably, JazzCash charges a fee on every deposit from retailers and transaction fees on each transaction.
EasyPaisa Fees and Charges
EasyPaisa follows a competitive fee structure, ensuring that users are aware of the charges associated with different services. Interestingly, EasyPaisa does not charge any fee on transactions less than Rs 10,000.
Verdict: EasyPaisa is more economical for small transfers. JazzCash is better for freelancers.
Pros and Cons
Both financial services come with their own pros and cons. Below are a few.
JazzCash Pros and Cons
Pros: Broad service offerings, extensive network, user-friendly interface.
Cons: May have higher fees for certain transactions, limited international partnerships
EasyPaisa Pros and Cons
Pros: Wide accessibility, simple user interface, competitive fee structure, good rural outreach.

JazzCash vs Easypaisa – Final Verdict
Both JazzCash and EasyPaisa have carved out substantial and unique niches in Pakistan’s fintech landscape. There can never be an ultimate winner between JazzCash vs EasyPaisa as the preference is selective on needs.
Choose JazzCash: if you’re a freelancer looking for Payoneer integration, a user-friendly app interface, and wide agent network coverage, it’s a great idea to open a JazzCash account to meet all your needs
Opt for EasyPaisa: if you prioritise cost-effective small transactions, live in rural areas with Easypaisa agent access, and prefer a simple user experience, it’s worth considering to make an Easypaisa account.
There is no doubt that both platforms are incredibly vital for financial literacy in Pakistan. Both continue to drive innovation and growth in Pakistan’s digital financial sector, benefiting millions of users across the country.

The ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final is just around the corner, and the former Australia captain Ricky Ponting has named a Playing XI, which he thinks is the best for the Aussies.
The former Australian captain and cricket pundit didn’t hold back in the latest episode of The ICC Review, where he shared his predicted lineup for the high-stakes clash against South Africa at Lord’s, scheduled from June 11 to 15.
But what caught everyone’s attention? His bold call to push Marnus Labuschagne to the top of the order.
Marnus to Open? That’s a New One
Let’s face it — Labuschagne has been a mainstay at No.3 for a while now. So when Ricky Ponting suggested bumping him up to open with Usman Khawaja, eyebrows were raised.
“I’ve just got a bit of a feeling that Marnus Labuschagne might be pushed up the order to open the batting with Khawaja,” Ponting said.
Now, that’s a big shift — especially for someone who hasn’t opened in Tests before. But Ponting has his reasons. With David Warner now retired, there’s a vacancy, and Marnus might just be the man to fill it… at least temporarily.
The Rest of the Lineup
Ponting’s predicted batting order has a few curveballs:
Usman Khawaja
Marnus Labuschagne
Cameron Green
Steve Smith
Travis Head
Beau Webster
Alex Carey (wk)
Pat Cummins (c)
Mitchell Starc
Nathan Lyon
Josh Hazlewood
Let’s unpack this a little.
Green at No. 3 is a big promotion. While his potential is undeniable, he hasn’t consistently batted that high in red-ball cricket. But if he fires, that’s a game-changer.
Then there’s Beau Webster at six — a pick that’s as exciting as it is unexpected. The tall Tasmanian all-rounder has been making waves in domestic cricket, and Ponting clearly sees something in him.
The Hazlewood vs Boland Dilemma
Every Aussie fan knows this debate. When Hazlewood’s fit, he’s world-class. But when Boland plays, he always delivers.
“It’s a tough call every time,” Ponting admitted. “But if Hazlewood is fit, I think he comes straight back into the team.”
Tough break for Boland, who was instrumental in the last WTC Final, but that’s the kind of selection headache most teams dream of having.
Ricky Ponting also shed light on why the selectors might stick with Labuschagne — despite his dip in form and a lukewarm County Championship stint with Glamorgan.
“I think they’ll want to get through the cycle with the same players,” he explained. “Labuschagne has been through this with the team, even if he’s moving up the order.”
It’s less about radical changes and more about backing the trusted core to deliver one more time.

Imad Wasim, known for his calm under pressure and thoughtful cricketing mind, has thrown his support behind newly-appointed Pakistan’s white-ball head coach Mike Hesson, with a mix of faith, experience, and a touch of friendly caution.
A Coach with a Vision
In a recent chat on a local sports platform, Imad described Hesson’s arrival as a positive step in the right direction — especially for a team that’s often searching for consistency in white-ball cricket.
“Mike Hesson understands the game really well. I’ve spoken to him about cricket, and he seems like a very good coach,” Imad shared. “Let’s see what happens.”
That “let’s see” isn’t doubt — it’s just a reflection of the reality every Pakistan fan knows too well: good coaching only works if there’s a strategy, and more importantly, if the dressing room backs it.
“Stability over Stunts,” Imad Wasim on Mike Hesson’s Era
Fearless ≠ Reckless
One of the more striking parts of Imad’s interview was his take on Pakistan’s batting mindset. With teams like England setting the gold standard for aggressive yet calculated T20 cricket, Imad made a key distinction:
“There’s a difference between recklessness, stupidity, and fearlessness. There’s a fine line — and you cannot cross it. Even England have a proper structure in place for how they go about T20 cricket.”
In a team where chaos can sometimes be mistaken for creativity, this is a timely reminder. Playing brave cricket doesn’t mean swinging for the fences without a plan.
The Real Challenge? The Drama
Imad Wasim didn’t sugarcoat it. For all of Hesson’s tactical nous, his biggest test might not be in the nets, but in navigating the ever-dramatic ecosystem of Pakistan cricket.
“If you give them time — like four to six months, or three to four series — it could work. I want to see Pakistan playing good cricket,” Imad said. The subtext? Let the coach breathe. No last-minute U-turns, no knee-jerk reactions, no committee circus.
A Promising Start Under Mike Hesson
Thankfully, the early signs are encouraging. In the first T20I of the Bangladesh series, Pakistan came out swinging — and not in the reckless way Imad warned about.
Batting first, they piled up 201/7 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. Captain Salman Ali Agha led from the front with a solid 56, while Shadab Khan (48) and youngster Hasan Nawaz (44) chipped in with impactful knocks. Even Mohammad Haris added fireworks at the end with a brisk 31 off 18 balls.
But the real hero? Hasan Ali. Back in green after a year, he bowled a sensational spell of 5/30 — his first-ever T20I five-wicket haul — to dismantle Bangladesh for 164.
Shadab, with his all-round brilliance, was named Player of the Match, and Pakistan cruised to a 37-run victory, taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
