WhatsApp To Introduce Threaded Message Replies For Smoother Chats

whatsapp-to-introduce-threaded-message-replies-for-smoother-chats

WhatsApp is testing a new feature called “Threaded Message Replies.” This feature appears in its latest iOS beta version 25.19.10.80. As the name shows, it groups replies under the original message. This change helps users follow group conversations more easily. It improves readability in busy chats. The update remains under development, but it marks a major change in how users chat with each other.

The goal is to bring more structure to group discussions. It helps users track the context of replies clearly. WABetaInfo shared details about this feature and confirmed its global release soon. “Once the new feature arrives, message bubbles in chats will show a small badge noting how many replies are attached to it. Tapping the badge will open a new screen displaying all replies to that message in one place,” the report said. Users can also open threads and reply directly inside them.

The new reply threads make group chats easier to follow. The feature bundles replies under one message, which removes clutter. Users no longer need to scroll through old messages to find responses. The thread view shows who replied to which message in one place. It adds more clarity to fast group conversations.

WABetaInfo also said that WhatsApp is testing this same feature on Android. This means the company plans to launch it for both iPhone and Android users. “Reply Threads will help declutter group chats by bundling related discussions, making it easier to follow who replied to what,” WABetaInfo stated. The feature allows users to keep conversations organised and stay on topic.

Users with beta access might not see the feature right away. This process shows that WhatsApp wants to ensure the feature works well and meets user expectations.

Sylvia Plath’s Fig Tree Perspective and How It’s Resonating With Gen Z

sylvia-plaths-fig-tree-perspective-and-how-itresonating-with-gen-z

You are not alone if you’ve ever stood at the crossroads of life, paralysed by the sheer number of options before you. Sylvia Plath painted this exact feeling in her now-famous fig tree metaphor in The Bell Jar.

There is something deeply melancholic about Sylvia Plath’s fig tree, and strangely enough, this decades-old passage still resonates with Gen Z and their fantasisation of ghost lives they couldn’t live.

We are all a grave of things we could have been. But here is the truth: We can’t have it all at once. And the waiting and trying to do otherwise might slowly rot us from it all completely.

This is exactly why the literary metaphorical piece by Sylvia Plath might flip your perspective too.

Sylvia Plath’s “Fig Tree” Analogy

For those foreign to The Bell Jar, Plath writes a famous metaphoric passage:

“I saw my life branching out before me like the green fig tree… From the tip of every branch, like a fat purple fig, a wonderful future beckoned and winked… I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest… and, as I sat there… I saw myself starving to death, just because I couldn’t make up my mind which of the figs I would choose.”

Sylvia Plath’s novel is about a 19-year-old Greenwood college student named Esther. She is able to secure a highly demanded internship in New York City. It all seems fine until Esther is hit with the societal burdens and expectations of women. The weight of the future, her need for an identity and the expectations of people around her manifest themselves in the “fig tree” metaphor.

Each fig represents a version of life, the plethora of opportunities. Yet, the fear of making the “wrong” choice leads to paralysis. Esther develops the fear of making the wrong choice, one that will cost her wants or dreams. Because the weight of possibly choosing wrong made her choose nothing., Esther watches as the figs prune and die.

While the literary piece was written in the 1960s, the pressure to “have it all” has only intensified, and we see that evident even today. Youngsters are already grieving and fantasising about lives that aren’t theirs or lives they once thought they would be living.

We’re told we can be anything. But what if we pick the wrong fig?

It’s not just a metaphor but a literary warning. And it comes with a soft kind of devastation, the kind that creeps in when you realise that maybe you have been sitting under your own fig tree far too long. Watching as the figs rot.

sylvia-plaths-_fig-tree_-analogy

The Ache of Wanting Everything

We were raised in a generation told we could be anything and everything. And we believed it. But what no one told us was that wanting it all would come at the cost of doing very little. And with every door that opens, we’re forced to close another.

Plath’s fig tree didn’t lie; each fig is beautiful in its own way. But choosing one means grieving the others. And that grief? That’s what haunts us.

We stall, hoping the tree will wait. That the figs will stay ripe. But time is brutal. The figs do fall. Slowly, silently, and then all at once. And one day, you wake up surrounded by rot, realising you said “maybe later” so many times, that you’ve run out of later. You sit at the base and starve yourself with indecisiveness.

But, what if you just pick? The power of Plath’s metaphor isn’t just in its poignancy, it’s also in how it forces a reckoning. You can’t have every fig. Some figs will indeed wither and fall.

And maybe that’s not a tragedy.

Because picking a fig is better than watching the tree empty itself in silence. At least when you pick, you live. You grow, learn and get to taste the sweetness of something.

I saw one writer on the internet beautifully sharing how she re-read the fig tree passage in her late 20s after walking away from a job, a relationship, and the pressure to conform. But instead of sinking into despair, she realised she could simply choose a fig, even if it wasn’t “perfect.” And from there, everything changed.

The-ache-of-wanting-everything

Bittersweet Lesson From Sylvia Plath’s Life

There’s a deep sadness in knowing Sylvia Plath never escaped her own fig tree. She saw the metaphor, understood the trap, and still couldn’t climb. That’s the part that stays with you. That’s what makes this more than a Pinterest quote.

But maybe her pain doesn’t have to be ours.

The lesson for Gen Z is to simply try. Stand in the face of failure and rejection instead of the regret of not choosing it all. We may be labelled as the generation that avoids rejection and risk. But we’re also known for our boldness and for being feared, because we have learned how to survive through it all.

Sylvia Path’s fig tree is a poetic reminder for us to not be scared of the future, or else we will never experience the joy of the unpredictability of things. Maybe we will never know where our choices might take us, but maybe that’s the best part after all.

Elon Musk’s America Party Could Shake Trump’s 2026 Plans

elon-musks-america-party-could-shake-trumps-2026-plans

Elon Musk launched the America Party after Trump signed a domestic policy bill that Musk criticised for increasing the deficit. Trump dismissed the move as “ridiculous,” but experts say Musk could still damage Republicans in the 2026 midterms.

Political analyst Matt Shoemaker said, “Elon Musk’s America Party is a wild card that could upend the midterms in 2026, particularly for Republicans. With bare majorities in Congress, the Republicans should be worried.” Musk plans to target certain House and Senate seats, especially where Republicans backed Trump’s bill despite pushing fiscal restraint.

Musk hinted at the party for weeks with a social media poll in June, where 80% of 5.6 million users supported the idea. Unlike past third parties, Musk brings major funding and influence, especially among young, tech-savvy men.

Shoemaker added, “Musk’s brand appeals to disaffected independents and younger, tech-savvy voters who might otherwise break for Republicans in swing districts.” Musk, worth $405 billion, spent $277 million on Trump’s 2024 campaign but failed to win in a Wisconsin race despite spending $20 million.

His appeal doesn’t stretch to middle America. After working in the Trump administration as a budget hawk, Musk’s popularity fell. According to Nate Silver’s latest poll, Musk’s net favourability is -18.1, while Trump is at -6.6.

Flavio Hickel, a political science professor at Washington College, said, “The Republican base and MAGA movement are fairly inseparable in today’s political climate. Their support for Trump has been unwavering despite recent controversies. It’s hard to imagine any political project associated with Musk syphoning off votes from individuals who approve of Donald Trump.”

Third parties rarely win in the US. Only two minor parties have won Senate seats in the last 100 years. Legal and procedural hurdles make ballot access difficult for new parties. Political strategist Matt Klink said, “Remember in early 2024 the so-called ‘No Labels’ party that was going to chart a middle course for the 2024 elections? They fizzled out in epic fashion.”

Despite low chances of winning seats, Musk could still impact the outcome. Evan Nierman from Red Banyan said, “Elon’s party won’t win seats, but it could cost Republicans plenty. In tight districts, even a few points syphoned off from the right could flip control.”

Microsoft Invests $3 Billion in India After Pakistan Exit

microsoft-invests-3-billion-in-india-after-pakistan-exit

Microsoft has announced a $3 billion investment in India over the next two years. The company will expand its hyperscale cloud infrastructure and build new data centres. This investment is also focussed on boosting AI capabilities for businesses, developers, and government bodies.

The announcement follows Microsoft’s closure in Pakistan. It ended operations in the country, citing economic instability and regulatory barriers. Currently, Microsoft maintains only a liaison office in Pakistan with minimal staff.

Jawwad Rehman, founding head of Microsoft Pakistan, commented on LinkedIn. He wrote, “This is more than a corporate exit. It’s a sobering signal of the environment our country has created.. one where even global giants like Microsoft find it unsustainable to stay.”

CEO Satya Nadella described India as a “global leader in AI innovation.” He added that the investment aims to “unlock opportunities across every sector of the economy.” Microsoft is already working with Indian ministries, startups, and educational groups.

The tech company is also helping upskill millions in India. These efforts include partnerships to build AI-powered tools and digital training programs. Microsoft’s strategy aligns with India’s growing digital transformation.

Pakistan’s current environment made it difficult for tech firms to survive. Microsoft’s decision reflects wider concerns about the country’s economic and policy climate. Rehman’s statement highlights the larger implications of such exits for Pakistan’s future.

India, on the other hand, has shown promise in digital growth. Microsoft’s strong commitment confirms confidence in India’s stability and tech leadership. The $3 billion will fuel AI adoption across sectors and deepen Microsoft’s roots in the country.

This shift marks a major turn in South Asia’s tech landscape. India stands to benefit from innovation, skills, and global tech partnerships. Pakistan may face further setbacks if other firms follow Microsoft’s lead.

Wahab Riaz to Spearhead Pakistan Champions’ Pace Attack in WCL 2025

wahab-riaz-to-lead-pakistan-champions-pace-attack-in-wcl-2025

The Pakistan Champions have named a star-studded pace attack for the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025, led by none other than Wahab Riaz, the left-arm quick who’s made a career out of rattling stumps.

With an eye on redemption after falling just short in the inaugural edition, the franchise has unveiled a pace attack stacked with experience, aggression and variety.

A Pace Quartet Full of Fire

Wahab isn’t going into this campaign alone. Joining him in the fast-bowling department are fellow left-armers Sohail Tanvir and Rumman Raees, along with the ever-charged Sohail Khan.

Together, this quartet brings over 1,000 T20 matches of experience and a staggering 1,115 wickets to the table.

The franchise made the announcement with a punchy post on social media:

“Raw pace, Relentless aggression, left-arm angle, right-arm fire – they’re coming in hot. This trio isn’t here to bowl… they’re here to dominate.”

With that kind of firepower, Pakistan Champions have ensured their bowling arsenal will be anything but tame.

Sharjeel Khan: Back to Blast from Ball One

While the bowlers prep to do the damage with the ball, the batting order will once again look to Sharjeel Khan for explosive starts. The left-handed opener has been retained for Season 2, and fans couldn’t be happier.

Sharjeel was a standout performer last season, hammering 221 runs in seven matches at an eye-popping strike rate of 193.85. His six-hitting prowess lit up the tournament, and the franchise clearly knows the value he brings at the top.

“You blink, and you miss a SIX,” Pakistan Champions posted.
“Sharjeel Khan is back to set the tone from ball one in #WCLSeason2.”

With that kind of form and mindset, expect fireworks right from the first over.

WCL 2025: Bigger, Bolder and More Competitive

Set to run from 18 July to 2 August, the second season of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) promises even more high-octane cricket. The tournament will be held across four iconic English venues:

  • Edgbaston (Birmingham)
  • County Ground (Northampton)
  • Grace Road (Leicester)
  • Headingley (Leeds)

The six participating teams, India, Pakistan, Australia, England, South Africa, and the West Indies, will compete in a round-robin format, with the top four making it to the semi-finals.

In the previous edition, Pakistan, led by Younis Khan, looked like one of the most balanced sides throughout the group stage. From dominant wins over Australia and the West Indies to a memorable high-scoring victory against India, they thrilled fans. However, they fell short in the final against a Yuvraj Singh-led Indian side.

New ICC Chief Sparks Conflict of Interest Debate as Indian Influence Grows

new-icc-chief-sanjog-gupta-sparks-conflict-of-interest-debate

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has a new face at the helm as Sanjog Gupta took over as Chief Executive Officer (CEO); however, his appointment hasn’t exactly been welcomed with unanimous applause.

While the decision may mark a fresh chapter for global cricket administration, it’s already raising eyebrows across member boards who fear this might be another step towards an India-dominated ICC.

Who is Sanjog Gupta?

For those unfamiliar with him, Gupta is no stranger to the cricket ecosystem. He’s had an influential career in Indian broadcasting and administration and played a key role in growing cricket viewership in India.

However, it’s his past views on revenue distribution that have brought his new role under intense scrutiny.

Reportedly, Gupta has argued in the past that India, given its massive contribution to global cricket revenue, deserves a larger share of the financial pie.

While this opinion aligns with India’s market power, it hasn’t gone down well with several member boards, who are already uneasy about the ICC’s growing tilt towards Indian influence.

A Pattern Emerging?

Gupta’s appointment adds to what some critics see as a trend: Indian officials filling more senior positions at the ICC.

With Jay Shah as ICC chairman and other Indian executives such as Prabhakaran Thanraj (vice president of commercial and operations) and Gaurav Saxena (general manager of events and corporate communications) already onboard, the leadership team is starting to look a bit one-sided.

Saxena, notably, had earlier worked as BCCI’s general manager of operations before his ICC stint, further fuelling concerns that the line between national and international governance is beginning to blur.

The Selection Process

To be fair, the ICC insists that the appointment followed a thorough and transparent process. The CEO hunt began in March 2025 and reportedly attracted over 2,500 applications from 25 different countries. Out of these, 12 candidates made the shortlist.

The final call came from the nominations committee, comprising Imran Khawaja, Richard Thompson, Shammi Silva and Devajit Saikia. The committee unanimously backed Gupta, and the full ICC Board later ratified the decision.

Why the Pushback?

Despite the process, the optics of Gupta’s selection have raised alarm bells. Member boards worry that with so many key roles occupied by individuals with close ties to India or the BCCI, the ICC may slowly lose its neutrality.

“The issue isn’t Gupta’s capability,” a source familiar with the matter said. “It’s about balance and the spirit of equal representation in global cricket.”

Some even argue that global cricket is inching towards a monopoly, where decisions risk being made in favour of a few, rather than the collective interests of all member nations.

Ihsanullah Breaks Silence On Emotional Videos And Criticism

ihsanullah-breaks-silence-on-emotional-videos-criticism

Pakistan’s fiery right-arm pacer, Ihsanullah, found himself at the centre of unexpected controversy recently, and not for anything that happened on the cricket field.

The 22-year-old quick from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa sparked widespread concern on social media after uploading a series of emotional videos, in which he appeared visibly distressed and on the verge of tears. Fans were left confused, concerned and, in some cases, critical.

What followed was a string of headlines and heated discussions online as Ihsanullah made a shocking claim that he would not return to cricket unless his teenage friend, Abdullah, made amends with him.

“I’ll Only Play If He Comes Back”

Speaking to a local media outlet in the initial aftermath, Ihsanullah was firm in his stance.

“I will only play cricket when my friend comes back,” he said. “I am adamant about this and it’s a challenge for everyone.”

While some fans sympathised with the young bowler’s emotional vulnerability, many others found the comments immature and frustrating, especially considering the responsibility that comes with being a national cricketer.

Setting the Record Straight

On Monday, Ihsanullah finally addressed the online uproar during an exclusive interview with a local news channel, where he offered much-needed context.

“That young guy is my student,” Ihsanullah explained. “The relation between a teacher and a student is similar to that of a father and son.”

He also spoke warmly about the teenager’s elder brother, calling him both a friend and a guiding figure in his own journey.

“He showed me the right path. I owe him and his family a lot,” Ihsanullah added.

A Plea to the Fans

Realising the growing criticism and potential damage to his professional career, the pacer made a humble request.

“I am seeing the posts on social media which are not good,” he said. “I apologise and request to not share such posts which could become dangerous for my career.”

His comments reflect a mix of regret, clarity and emotional honesty. It is a reminder that athletes, despite their stature, are still human beings navigating personal struggles just like the rest of us.

While fans hope to see him return to doing what he does best, bowling rockets at over 145kph, it’s clear that he’s going through something that goes beyond cricket.

The situation also serves as a broader lesson for the sporting world: mental health, friendships, and emotional well-being are just as important as form and fitness.

Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill is a BIG Threat to Immigrants! Here’s How

Donald Trump's immigration policies have become more aggressive

In his dedicated bid to “Make America Great Again,” Donald Trump has enacted a controversial bill that is expected to spell doom for immigration in the US.

The legislation is being called Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill,” which was signed by the US President on July 4th. It promises to take his disputed immigration policies a step further.

Since coming into power earlier this year, Trump has spearheaded a brutal official crackdown on illegal immigrants. Showing no signs of slowing down, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) is the latest threat to immigration in the US.

donald-trump-obbba

The Big Beautiful Bill allocates 170 billion Dollars to ICE

President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” has dedicated an astounding 170 billion dollars to the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE), making it the most heavily funded agency in the American federal government.

Among the bill’s most salient features, $45 billion has been appropriated to ICE to build new detention centres. This increase could facilitate the detention of at least 116,000 immigrants daily.

Another staggering $46.6 billion has been allotted for the border wall construction, a threefold increase over the amount expended in Trump’s first term.

For the agency that oversees the US’s immigration court system. $3.3 billion has been allocated with a cap of 800 judges. The fees for immigration services has also been increased.

Strict measures have been imposed on asylum seekers. Those fleeing persecution will have to pay a $100 application fee and an additional $100 for every year that the application is pending.

Critics of Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” have warned that the recent legislation could lead to more ICE raids, economic disturbances, and restriction of humanitarian services.

donald-trump
donald-trump

The Bill: Heavily Opposed and Criticised

Americans have not taken too kindly to Trump’s recent immigration policies. More than half believing that ICE operations have gone too far. The Big Beautiful Bill is only likely to increase such sentiments.

On a political level, Democrats have vehemently rejected the US President’s crackdown on illegal immigrants. Matt Barretto, a Democratic pollster who has studied voter sentiments  on immigration, stated:

“There’s virtually no support for this mass deportation effort outside of [Trump’s] rabid Maga base. Other than that, people want immigrants to work here and to be here and to contribute to America.”

Oblivious to many Republicans, mass deportations and draconian immigration policies have minimal advantages. It could shrink the economy and weaken the labour market for everyone,  US-born workers included.

While some may believe that Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” will protect national interests, the American Dream is changing for immigrants. This harsh new reality is likely to see a rise in uncertainty, fear, and discrimination for non-Americans.

Can PMDD Menstrual Condition Harm Your Relationship with Your Partner?

menstrual-condition-harm-your-relationship-with-your-partner

When we talk about menstrual health, most of us are familiar with PMS. The constant mood swings, cramps and cravings that often come like clockwork. But what if there was something far more intense, misunderstood and damaging condition out there? Something that can affect not just the person experiencing it but also their partner and relationship?

I am talking about Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), a condition that’s slowly getting the attention it deserves and it’s time we start talking about how it can affect not just individuals, but couples too.

This condition is not considered as an illness because of not many are aware of it. But do you know PMDD affects around 3% of the population? Think this isn’t a big deal? Well, compare it this way: Bipolar type 1 and Schizophrenia are found in 1% of the total population, and OCD affects 2% of the total population, YET all of them are a big deal. Now, imagine how serious PMDD can be.

What Exactly Is PMDD?

PMDD is not just a “bad PMS.” It’s a severe, chronic medical condition that affects around 1 in 20 women and people who menstruate. According to Dr. Benicio Frey (a psychiatrist in Hamilton, Canada) both PMS and PMDD are recognised through mental and physical symptoms in the luteal phase.

pms-vs-pmdd

The mental symptoms include: emotional sensitivity, depression, anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, difficulty paying attention, memory issues and even suicidal thoughts. The physical symptoms on the other hand will include: breast tenderness, cramps, bloating, fatigue, increased appetite for carbs, changes in sleep, and changes in appetite.

All these are tightly linked to hormonal changes in the menstrual cycle.

“Both PMDD and PMS affect the quality of life, but PMDD brings the patient to the hospital,” says Dr. Anum Aziz, an Obstetrician-Gynecologist at Agha Khan University Hospital in Karachi.

Unlike other mental health conditions and mood disorders where the cause is often not easily pinpointed. Researchers and doctors have been able to identify the cause of PMDD: the brain’s sensitivity to hormonal changes. If the estrogen hormone is in deficit and progesterone is abundant, the brain will get emotionally unwell and irritated easily.

And while the person suffering from PMDD is obviously the primary victim of the condition, recent studies shed light on how romantic relationships also bear the weight of this invisible burden.

The Hidden Toll on Romantic Relationships

PMDD doesn’t just affect the person experiencing it, even their partners are often left confused, hurt, and helpless. The unpredictable mood shifts and emotional distance can make even the strongest relationships feel fragile.

Some described it as “walking on eggshells” for a week or more each month; unsure of what mood, emotion, or reaction might surface next.

When these experiences are repeated monthly and left unaddressed, they can seriously erode trust, intimacy, and communication between couples. And yet, the sufferer is often just as confused and distressed by their own behaviour, trapped in a cycle they can’t control.

“I’ve lost friendships and relationships because of this condition. People often don’t understand, or they grow tired of the inconsistency and unpredictability of my health. Being left behind or misunderstood by people I love has added another layer of grief and loneliness, fuelling further depression and anxiety,” says a victim of PMDD.

For many couples, it leads to repetitive conflicts, intimacy issues, and even emotional trauma. PMDD can also aggravate other pre-existing mental illnesses or traumas to make the patient suicidal which then deflects on the partner too. What happens in the end? Many relationships aren’t able to survive it.

A Misunderstood and Unseen Disorder

In Pakistan and many parts of the world, menstrual health is still shrouded in stigma and silence. The condition has even been linked to suicidal thoughts and tendencies, especially when left undiagnosed or unsupported.

What makes it even more heartbreaking is the lack of awareness and access to proper treatment. Many women suffer in silence, not knowing that their emotional upheaval could be a medical disorder, not a personal flaw.

So, can your relationship survive PMDD? The short answer: Yes, but only with understanding and support from their partner and lastly, medical help.

Paris Opens River Seine after a Century, But Why Was It Banned?

paris-opens-river-seine-after-a-century-but-why-was-it-banned

Paris opened the River Seine to swimmers for the first time in over a century. On 5th July, officials lifted the swimming ban from 1923. They designated three safe zones near the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame, and Bercy. Lifeguards guard the areas. They monitor water quality every day.

Why was the River Seine Banned?

Cities prohibited swimming in the Seine in 1923. They complained of excessive pollution and navigation hazards. Sewage and factory waste rendered the river unhealthy. Boats and currents increased the hazard. Public health professionals were afraid of infection and accidents.

Source: ABC News

A €1.4 Billion Cleanup

Paris spent €1.4 billion to restore the Seine. They improved sewage pipes and treatment facilities. They installed gargantuan storage tanks to catch overflow in downpours. The 2024 Olympics gave the push. Authorities constructed new sewage connections for houses and houseboats.

The plan traces back to then-mayor Jacques Chirac in 1988. He vowed to reopen the Seine by 1994. But it wasn’t until Paris was awarded the 2024 Olympics that success followed. The Games sped cleanup and testing. The triathlon included a swim in the Seine. Several athletes later got ill. But officials contend it showed the water could be safe with oversight.

The First Swimmers

On the first day, about 3,000 plunged in. Several shouted and said the water was warm. Lifeguards provided swimmers with yellow float belts. Tourists and Parisians splashed in the city and cooled off during the record-breaking heat of summer.

Official test water daily. Rain or boat pollution might shut areas down. They guarantee closures during heavy rain. Some residents are still wary. They cite residual trash, cloudy water, and periodic spikes in bacteria. They will only relent when they see water consistently clean.

A Cultural Revival

Swimming in the Seine dates back to the 17th century. Parisians took their early baths nude, later in drifting pools. The Deligny pool functioned until 1993. Swim enthusiasts now anticipate tradition and city life to converge once again.

Mayor Hidalgo connects this with climate response. She says that rivers will cool cities. She jumped into the Seine in 2024 to make a point. Now she is inviting everyone in. The action addresses heat and creates public space.

The Road Ahead

Paris plans additional swimming facilities along the Seine and Marne. Fourteen new areas will become operational later this summer. Officials will continue testing. They are hoping to make this a lasting Olympic and climate change legacy.

The Seine’s rebirth is more than a swim opportunity. It is a sign that Paris is working to revitalize its waterways. It is an example of how cities can balance heritage, health, and hot weather. Swimming in the Seine now seems on the horizon. Only time and clean water will tell if it can actually stick.

Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 is Coming and It Might Make You Sob More

cyberpunk-edgerunners-2-is-coming-and-it-might-make-you-sob-even-more
Source: Gamebomb

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 has just received the thumbs up. It was announced by Netflix and CD Projekt Red at Anime Expo 2025. The sequel introduces a new, standalone story in Night City. It guarantees to come harder than the original run.

New Cast, New Story

This season brings a new cast and a new tone. It is still grounded in cyberpunk grunge. Look for raw material like revenge and redemption. David’s story concludes, his book ending with “David’s Dead.” The next arc follows a new hero, perhaps with a greater focus on memory and legacy.

cyberpunk-edgerunners-2-is-coming-and-it-might-make-you-sob-even-more
Source: Games Radar

Showrunner Bartosz Sztybor wants to chop deeper. He explained that he wants people to feel more. He even confessed that he enjoys having people cry. The teaser promises more blood, more emotion, and more gut-punching moments. It differs from the tone of the first season.

Familiar Team at the Helm

Studio Trigger returns in the animation. Kai Ikarashi directs the entire season following a standout episode directing last season. Ichigo Kanno reprises designing characters. The same creative team provides visual consistency and emotional impact. That consistency has fans hoping they’ll capture the original’s essence.

The teaser combines Season 1 footage with brand-new scenes. It makes memory and media the unifying themes. It concludes with the ominous message: “David’s Dead.” The trailer immediately fueled fan speculation, and some believe the new lead is connected to David and Lucy. Others hold out for now to see what becomes of this.

Fan Reaction: Get Ready to Feel

Reddit users had already expressed their apprehensions. One of them commented, “I’m not ready to have my heart destroyed again :(.” Another remarked, “That song hit right in the feels.” Most fans adore that emotional rollercoaster, but they also fear it. Be prepared for tears to accompany the hype.

cyberpunk-edgerunners-2-is-coming-and-it-might-make-you-sob-even-more
Source: RockPaper

The team has not announced a release date yet. Edgerunners Season 1 premiered roughly two years after its initial announcement. If Season 2 follows a similar timeline, we might not see its release until late 2026 or even 2027. That’s a long wait, but fans know it’s worth it.

Why This Matters

The initial season’s success fueled Cyberpunk 2077’s resurgence. This sequel has the potential to revitalise the entire franchise. It solidifies connections between anime and subsequent game material. Studio Trigger’s inclusion also makes it a must-watch anime, not simply a gaming tie‑in.

  • Count on the same 10‑episode format.
  • Director Kai Ikarashi returns, so be prepared for sleek visuals.
  • Showrunner Sztybor intends a more emotional punch.
  • New heroes will spearhead—but David echoes might persist.

Fans need to ready themselves for heartbreak. They’re wondering: does Edgerunners 2 make us cry harder than the original?

Edgerunners 2 will continue where it left off, pushing the envelope. It introduces new faces but retains the heart that shattered our hearts the first time around. It promises to get us invested and maybe crying. If you enjoyed the original run, be prepared: Night City is coming at you even harder.

  • Alsvin later: MT Comfort by Rs 90,000 to Rs 4.189 million. Lumiere and Black Edition by Rs 100,000 to Rs 4.899–4.999 million.
  • Karvaan Power Plus: jumped Rs 50,000 to Rs 3.249 million.
  • Sherpa Power 1.2: now at Rs 2.349 million, up by Rs 45,000.
  • All the other models also witnessed increases of between Rs 45,000 and Rs 200,000.

Source: Profit by Pakistan

Why the Increase?

The increase came after Pakistan’s 2025–26 federal budget. It imposed a NEV (climate support) duty and carbon fuel duty depending on engine size (1%–3%). That affected internal combustion models. Changan transferred the entire amount to customers.

Changan also had to deal with higher gasoline prices, forex fluctuations, and increased production costs. Those contributed to higher pricing as well.

Consumers now pay extra for SUVs, sedans, vans, and pickups. Even value offerings such as Sherpa and Karvaan went up. The hikes came soon after Suzuki and Toyota increased prices steeply. That makes buyers face harder decisions.

Those looking for value can now consider buying electric cars. EVs and plug-in hybrids continue to be exempt from the NEV tax. Models such as Changan’s upcoming Lumin EV might command interest.

Market-Wide Reaction

Changan is not alone. Other big brands—Suzuki, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Kia—also hiked prices. All of them either mentioned the new tax and a depreciating rupee. Prices of cars overall could increase by as much as Rs 600,000 in certain models.

Some brands absorbed portions of the levy. Changan passed on all of it. That may redirect demand to competitors or used vehicles.

What Buyers Should Do

Book now: Prices may go up again.

Think of EVs: They don’t pay NEV levy.

Compare models: Look at competitors and pre-owned choices.

Negotiate: Dealers can make offers to spur sales.

Changan’s price increase is a new car market reality. Higher taxes and expenses affect all brands. Buyers need to rethink budgets. Sellers need to sell smarter. EVs can find new owners. Pakistan’s automotive landscape is changing rapidly.

Can COVID-19 Vaccines be the Reason Behind Sudden Deaths and Heart Attacks?

can-covid-vaccines-be-the-reason-behind-sudden-deaths

Recently, something very alarming has surfaced globally. The surge in sudden deaths due to heart attacks and other reasons in youth. You may have also come across two heartbreaking videos, one from Lahore, Pakistan and another from Firozpur, India that have gone viral. They show young, seemingly healthy men collapsing and dying from heart attacks during routine activities.

Due to the sudden surge, many have suspected that it may be due to the Covid-19 vaccines. However, many experts and medical professionals are refuting these claims, stating that there is no scientific evidence to back such “conspiracies”. But what is the truth and what is cover up? Why is there a rise in sudden deaths specifically after the Covid-19 Vaccine?

A post shared by Brandsynario (@brandsynario)

What Medical Professionals Say?

Are these claims mere conspiracy theories, or is there any underlying evidence backing them? Only experts can answer this.

The National Academies review of clinical trials and epidemiological data found no evidence of increased sudden death following vaccination with Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, or Novavax. In one Australian study, sudden cardiac deaths remained steady even within 30 days of vaccination.

The Centres for Disease Control examined nearly 1,300 death certificates of 16 and 30-year-olds in Oregon (June 2021–Dec 2022). Only three deaths were within 100 days of mRNA vaccination, and all had other serious health issues or undetermined causes. Crucially, no deaths were attributed to the vaccines.

Even keeping in mind the autopsy reports, medical professionals claimed that in all the reports, multiple reasons indicated the cause of death and none of them was linked to vaccinations. Some cardiac arrest patients had a family history of health diseases while the others were frequent vape/cigarette smokers. Even increased levels of stress was a major indicator but not vaccination.

One notable excerpt from the report reads: “The committee found no evidence to support a causal relationship between mRNA COVID-19 vaccines and sudden death in healthy individuals.” Even then, this doesn’t mean that we vote out the vaccines completely. Vaccines do have side effects like any other medication but the risks, when they exist, are exceedingly rare.

The Myocarditis Concern

The one risk that has drawn legitimate medical concern is myocarditis. This is an inflammation of the heart muscle. It has been observed, mostly in young men, after mRNA vaccines (Pfizer and Moderna).

According to a Nordic research on 23 million people, most of the myocarditis patients were those that were vaccinated. The more the vaccine dosage increased, the more Myocarditis cases were to be found.

But here’s what often gets lost in translation:

  • The rate is about 0.3 to 5 cases per 100,000 vaccinated individuals.

  • Most cases are mild, resolve on their own, and don’t result in death.

  • The risk of myocarditis from an actual COVID-19 infection is significantly higher.

In fact, a 2022 CDC report revealed that those infected with COVID-19 are up to 16 times more likely to develop myocarditis than those who received a vaccine.

When the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) investigated a cluster of sudden cardiac deaths in Karnataka, India, the panic was palpable. Yet their multi-agency probe, which included AIIMS, WHO, and CDC representatives, found no causal connection between vaccines and the deaths. Instead, poor lifestyle choices, smoking, genetics, and post-COVID complications were more likely factors.

The Role of Fear and Misinformation

Unfortunately, social media thrives on outrage and shock value. The now-debunked film “Died Suddenly” and similar narratives take real tragedies and wrap them in a conspiracy narrative, implying a global cover-up.

Grief doesn’t need a conspiracy to be valid. Losing someone suddenly, especially someone young is devastating. But we do them no justice by jumping to conclusions without evidence.

As a cardiologist quoted, “Correlation isn’t causation. The burden of proof lies in the data; not in what scares us.” Medicine isn’t perfect. And transparency matters. But it’s equally important to resist the pull of fear-based misinformation.

Many experts are recommending these steps to address such concerns:

  • Delaying strenuous physical activity for a few days after vaccination, especially in younger males.
  • Monitoring symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, or palpitations post-vaccine.
  • Encouraging open discussions with doctors about personal risk factors.

If vaccines were truly causing large-scale cardiac deaths, we’d see a global pattern in data, emergency rooms, and insurance claims. We aren’t.

So yes, stay informed. Ask your doctor. Get the facts. But don’t let fear dictate your health choices. Because in the end, facts heal better than fear ever could.

Zayn Malik Confronts Racism in New Song ‘Fuchsia Sea’

zayn-malik-confronts-racism-in-powerful-new-song-fuchsia-sea

Zayn Malik opened up about his past in a new music teaser. On Instagram, the 32-year-old shared a clip of his upcoming track called ‘Fuchsia Sea’. In this rap, he discusses racism, tokenism, and feeling erased during his time in One Direction.

He raps, “I worked hard in a White band, and they still laughed at the Asian.” He continues, “Got my back against the wall so much they think I got a brick fascination… I’ve got a round trip to the constellation.” These lines sparked strong reactions online.

Zayn was the only South Asian in One Direction. He was in the band with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and the late Liam Payne. They rose to fame in 2010 after forming on The X Factor UK. Malik left the group in 2015, shocking fans.

Although he has talked before about mental health and wanting privacy, this is the first time he has hinted at racial reasons for leaving. The song suggests racism may have played a role in his exit. Many fans, especially South Asians, praised him for speaking up.

His lyrics were quickly linked to his past experiences. Fans said they always saw Zayn as a rare brown face in mainstream Western pop. Now, they feel his words confirm what many suspected all along.

Earlier this year, Zayn performed a One Direction song for the first time in 10 years. He sang ‘Night Changes’ during his ‘Stairway to the Sky’ tour in Mexico City. He told the crowd, “It’s the first time I’ve sung that song in 10 years. Thank you, that was f****** amazing. I almost cried.”

Zayn has mostly stayed away from the spotlight since 2015. But in November 2024, he reunited with Styles, Tomlinson, and Horan at Payne’s funeral. That moment brought old memories back for fans.

‘Fuchsia Sea’ is still unreleased, but the short preview already has fans talking. It feels like a long-overdue look into Zayn’s truth.

ICC Yet to Approve World Club T20 Championship as Rumours Swirl

sikandar-raza-leads-lahore-qalandars-to-psl-10-glory-imad-wasim-icc-yet-to-approve-world-club-t20-championship-as-rumours-swirl

The cricketing world may be buzzing with excitement over a potential World Club T20 Championship. But according to sources familiar with the matter, it’s still too early to jump to conclusions – especially about any team being left out.

No Green Light Yet

Contrary to recent rumours, no official decision has been made about launching a global T20 tournament featuring domestic league champions. More importantly, Pakistan’s PSL champions haven’t been excluded, because there’s no confirmed tournament to be excluded from in the first place.

“There has been no decision to hold a tournament involving T20 league-winning teams. Therefore, the question of excluding Pakistan doesn’t arise,” said a source close to the matter.

No Talk of the Tournament in Recent Meetings

Rumours had picked up steam after reports suggested that Lahore Qalandars. The reigning PSL 2025 champions, had been snubbed from a five-team event. But insiders have now labelled these claims as “baseless” and entirely speculative.

In fact, recent cricket meetings in England, which some believed would host discussions on the proposed World Club T20 Championship, reportedly had no mention of such a championship on the agenda. Furthermore, neither PSL nor IPL representatives were even present at the gatherings.

“The subject was not on the agenda. Moreover, no representatives from either the PSL or the IPL attended those meetings,” the source confirmed.

ICC Holds the Reins

Any global T20 event of this nature would fall under the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) jurisdiction. And as things stand, the ICC has made no formal announcements, nor taken any steps to initiate a new World Club T20 tournament.

“Since no such event is currently in the pipeline, speculation about Pakistan’s exclusion is both premature and unfounded,” added the source.

For the unversed, the idea of pitting the world’s top T20 franchises against each other isn’t new. Fans will remember the Champions League T20 (CLT20), a high-profile tournament held between 2009 and 2015. That event, while exciting in concept, failed to find consistent commercial success and was shelved after six editions.

In today’s T20 landscape, however, things have evolved dramatically. Countries like India, Pakistan, England, Australia, South Africa, the West Indies, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, the UAE, and even the USA, all host flourishing domestic T20 leagues. The global appetite for franchise cricket has never been stronger.

Reuters’ X Accounts Blocked In India Amid Legal Confusion

reuters-x-accounts-blocked-in-india-amid-legal-confusion

X has blocked the Reuters news and Reuters World accounts in India. According to The Print, the platform did this “in response to a legal demand.” Despite the block, Reuters’ website and 30 other Reuters X handles remain accessible.

Many Indian users posted screenshots to show they couldn’t view the accounts. Reuters has not yet released a statement about the restriction. Meanwhile, India Today reached out to India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

The ministry denied issuing any such order to X. “There is no requirement from the Government of India to withhold the Reuters handle. We are continuously working with X to resolve the problem,” a MeitY spokesperson told India Today.

The Print noted that X usually shares legal enforcement updates on its Global Government Affairs handle. However, the handle has stayed silent on this issue. This silence raised more doubts about the origin of the block.

As of yet, The Hindustan Times pointed to a possible reason. In an Instagram post, it linked the restriction to Operation Sindoor. During that operation, India launched missiles at sites in Pakistan in May.

A post shared by Hindustan Times (@hindustantimes)

According to the post, X may have acted under government orders during that time. Yet, the government has not confirmed any such directive. Confusion continues as no party takes clear responsibility.

Earlier, on May 8, X had confirmed receiving government orders to block 8,000+ accounts. “In most cases, the Indian government has not specified which posts from an account have violated India’s local laws,” the company stated. “For a significant number of accounts, we did not receive any evidence or justification to block the accounts.”

Reuters has not commented publicly. Meanwhile, both the platform and the government appear to shift the blame. As a result, users remain in the dark about what truly happened.

Haris Rauf Faces Injury Setback Ahead of Bangladesh T20Is

"No Pressure on Pakistan Ahead of India Pak Match": Haris Rauf-haris-rauf-faces-injury-setback-ahead-of-bangladesh-t20is

Pakistan’s fast bowling firebrand Haris Rauf is staring at a spell on the sidelines after suffering a Grade 1 hamstring injury during the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 in the United States.

As a result, the 31-year-old is expected to miss Pakistan’s upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh, slated to begin later this month.

MLC Campaign Cut Short

Rauf, who was in red-hot form for the San Francisco Unicorns, picked up the injury during their victory over the Texas Super Kings.

Unfortunately, the setback has not only ruled him out of the remainder of the American T20 league but has also thrown a spanner in his international plans.

The Unicorns confirmed the news through their social media handles, showing full support for the pacer while also announcing New Zealand’s Ben Lister as his replacement.

“We’re with you, Haris. The San Francisco Unicorns can confirm Haris Rauf will miss the remainder of #MLC2025 with a hamstring injury,” the franchise posted.

Despite the early exit, Rauf can hold his head high, he currently tops the MLC 2025 wicket charts with 17 scalps in eight matches at an economy rate of 9.08. He had been a crucial part of the Unicorns’ bowling attack, regularly delivering the goods in the death overs.

Uncertainty Over National Duty

Back home, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to issue an official statement on Rauf’s injury or provide a timeline for his recovery.

But as things stand, it looks increasingly unlikely that the speedster will feature in the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh, which begins on 20 July at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.

The series is set to be a key assignment in Pakistan’s white-ball calendar, with matches scheduled for 22 and 24 July following the opener. The squad is due to arrive in Bangladesh on 16 July, but unless there’s a sudden recovery, Haris Rauf is expected to miss out.

PCB Shelves Champions Cup After Only One Season

whats-next-for-champions-one-day-cup-mentors-pcb-shelves-champions-cup-after-only-one-season

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to scrap the Champions Cup tournament, just a year after its much-hyped launch. Introduced in 2024 with the aim of injecting fresh competitiveness into domestic cricket, the tournament has now been axed from the 2025–26 season calendar.

What’s more, the ambitious mentorship programme featuring some of Pakistan’s biggest cricketing names has also been dissolved.

Big Names, Bold Vision – But Short-Lived

Last year, the PCB had proudly unveiled a star-studded panel of mentors for Champions Cup: Waqar Younis, Saqlain Mushtaq, Misbah-ul-Haq, Shoaib Malik, and Sarfaraz Ahmed.

These five were roped in as team mentors through what was described as a “competitive and transparent” selection process. Each was reportedly handed a three-year contract, worth an impressive Rs five million per month.

It was a bold move. A clear statement of intent to revive the domestic game through experienced guidance and high standards.

What Went Wrong?

Sources close to the development reveal that the board carried out an internal review earlier this year to assess the tournament’s overall impact. The result? The Champions Cup didn’t live up to expectations. The mentorship model, too, was found wanting in terms of tangible returns.

Former captain Shoaib Malik was the first to bow out of his role, and his departure sparked deeper conversations within the board. Before long, the decision was made to part ways with the entire mentor setup.

It’s a major shift in strategy, especially given how recently these changes were introduced with fanfare.

What’s New for 2025–26?

While one tournament disappears, the PCB isn’t hitting pause on domestic cricket. In fact, it’s pushing forward with a restructured calendar that places more weight on performance and competitiveness.

The 2025–26 season will kick off with the Hanif Mohammad Trophy on 15 August, to be played across Karachi, Multan, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan.

The crown jewel, however, remains the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy. Revamped once again, the country’s premier first-class tournament will feature eight teams and begin on 22 September.

The PCB seems to be returning to tried-and-tested formats, while trimming what it sees as excess. Whether this recalibration brings greater clarity and competitiveness, only time will tell.

Methane Gas Kills Eight Turkish Soldiers in Iraqi Cave Operation

methane-gas-kills-eight-turkish-soldiers-in-iraqi-cave-operation

Turkiye said on Monday that three more soldiers had died after being exposed to methane gas during a cave search in northern Iraq. This raised the total death count to eight. The troops were part of a mission to find the remains of a soldier killed in May 2022.

The Turkish defence ministry said, “Three other of our heroic comrades in arms, affected by methane gas, have died, bringing the total number of victims to eight.” The operation was happening in a cave previously used as a hospital.

The ministry also stated, “During a search operation in a cave… previously known to have been used as a hospital… 19 of our personnel were exposed to methane gas.” No explanation was given for the gas source. The incident happened during a sensitive period of negotiations.

Turkiye and Kurdish officials are in talks to end the long-standing conflict. The PKK recently agreed to give up its armed fight. This conflict began in 1984 and has killed over 40,000 people since. The talks are ongoing while tension still exists on the ground.

The soldier whose body was being searched died during Operation Claw Lock. That operation targeted PKK fighters in caves near the Iraqi-Turkish border. His body was never found after the 2022 clash, leading to this new mission.

The deaths happened as a delegation from the pro-Kurdish DEM party visited Abdullah Ocalan. He is the jailed PKK founder. Their visit was part of the continuing peace talks with the Turkish government.

These latest deaths may complicate the peace efforts. The Turkish military is expected to review safety measures. No further information was provided about the ongoing search or the gas leak source.
