Their wins arrive during a time when political representation is not only a symbolic action—it’s a wake-up call. Both women reflect the values of empathy, equity, and persistence. They not only shattered glass ceilings but have also bridged gaps between their homeland and their new home.

A Win for the Pakistani Diaspora

For the Pakistani community in Canada, these re-elections are not just victories—they’re confirmations. They indicate that political engagement and representation are not only feasible but effective. Khalid and Zahid’s persistence in Canadian politics is a testament to how immigrant narratives can redefine national narratives, and how diversity isn’t merely celebrated, but genuinely effective when it gets its voice heard in public office.

Let’s break down what makes this series special and why fans should be marking their calendars right now.

Government Likely to Keep Oil Prices Unchanged from May 1st

Government Likely To Keep Oil Prices Unchanged From May 1
Government Likely to Keep Oil Prices Unchanged from May 1st

The government is expected to keep domestic oil prices unchanged starting May 1, 2025. This move comes as international oil markets show only minor changes.

For Premium Motor Gasoline (PMG), a very small price drop is expected. The price may go down by Rs 0.16 per litre, which is a 0.1% decrease. This change applies to both the ex-refinery and ex-depot levels.

High-Speed Diesel (HSD), which is widely used in transport and agriculture, will likely remain steady. It might see an increase of just Rs 0.01 per litre. Since diesel has a direct effect on inflation, keeping its price stable brings some relief.

On the other hand, prices of Kerosene and Light Diesel Oil (LDO) may go up. Kerosene is expected to rise by Rs1.30 per litre, which is a 0.9% increase. LDO might increase by Rs1.35 per litre, showing a 1.0% hike.

Read more:  India Planning Military Strike Within 24-36 Hours: Attaullah Tarar

These price changes are based on existing tax rates, the Inland Freight Equalisation Margin (IFEM), and there is no US dollar exchange rate adjustment added at the moment.

As of now, the PMG premium is recorded at $5.464 per barrel. This figure might change slightly as two more days of Platts data are still to be added to the calculation.

The government’s pricing decision is based on current oil pricing mechanisms and internal calculations. It aims to strike a balance between rising costs and public relief. Although the drop in PMG is very small, and HSD is nearly unchanged, the decision not to raise prices significantly comes as a stabilising measure. For diesel, particularly, the steady rate helps keep transportation and agriculture costs in check, which indirectly supports inflation control.

This pricing structure reflects current market trends and local factors influencing fuel costs. While Kerosene and LDO see slight increases, the overall strategy seems to focus on maintaining price stability for essential fuels like PMG and HSD.

Financial Literacy Month: Smart Money Moves Every Student Should Know

Financial Literacy Month: Smart Money Moves Every Student Should Know
Financial Literacy Month: Smart Money Moves Every Student Should Know

When you are young, you have plenty of time and good health, but not much money. In middle age, you may have money and still enjoy good health, but you often find you have little time. By the time you are old, you may have both money and time, but your health might be deteriorating. Unfortunately, many people realise they have enough money only when they no longer have time or health to enjoy it. Therefore, it’s important to be tactical about building wealth, especially during your youth.

April is Financial Literacy Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of managing money wisely. For students, this is a perfect opportunity to start building strong financial habits that can set the foundation for lifelong stability and success.

What is Financial Literacy?

Financial literacy is the ability to understand and effectively use various financial skills, including budgeting, saving, investing, and managing debt. It’s about knowing how money works and how to make informed decisions about your finances. For students, becoming financially literate means gaining the tools to avoid debt traps, make smart spending choices, and prepare for a financially secure future.

Smart Money Moves Every Student Should Know

Here are some financial truths and tips that every student must know about:

1. Create a Budget and Stick to It

Budgeting is the cornerstone of financial literacy. Start by tracking your income, whether from a part-time job, allowances, or financial aid, and compare it to your expenses.

Break expenses down into categories like necessities and extra luxury expenses etc. Use budgeting apps or simple spreadsheets to stay on top of where your money is going.

2. Save as Much as You Can

Even if you’re only able to save a small amount each month, it adds up over time. Set up a savings account and aim to save at least 10% of your income.

This habit prepares you for unexpected expenses and future goals, such as studying abroad, buying a laptop, or moving into your first apartment.

3. Use Credit Wisely

Credit cards can be useful tools when used responsibly. Start building your credit history with a student credit card, but be sure to pay off your balance in full every month to avoid interest and debt. Understanding interest rates, due dates, and credit limits is essential to keeping your finances healthy.

4. Limit Student Loan Debt

Student loans are sometimes necessary, but it’s important to borrow only what you need. Look for scholarships, grants, and work-study opportunities first. If you do take out loans, understand the terms, including interest rates and repayment options after graduation.

5. Learn the Basics of Investing

While it may seem premature, learning the basics of investing while you’re still a student can give you a huge advantage. Understanding concepts like compound interest, stocks, and retirement accounts (like Roth IRAs) can motivate you to start investing early, even with small amounts.

6. Distinguish Wants from Needs

Financial discipline often comes down to making smarter spending choices. Ask yourself whether a purchase is a necessity or a want. Making these distinctions can help you avoid impulse spending and prioritise your financial well-being.

7. Educate Yourself Continuously

Financial literacy is an ongoing journey. Take advantage of free resources—workshops, podcasts, YouTube channels, and articles to deepen your understanding. The more informed you are, the better decisions you’ll make.

By adopting smart money habits early, like budgeting, saving and responsible borrowing; you set yourself up for a more secure and confident future. Remember, the small steps you take now can lead to big financial wins later.

India Planning Military Strike Within 24-36 Hours: Attaullah Tarar

India Planning Military Strike Within 24-36 Hours: Attaullah Tarar
India Planning Military Strike Within 24-36 Hours: Attaullah Tarar

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has warned that India is planning a military attack against Pakistan within the next 24 to 36 hours. He said this in a video statement posted late Tuesday, citing credible and verified intelligence reports. Tarar explained that India is using the Pahalgam attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) as an excuse for possible military action. The Pahalgam incident left 26 people dead.

“There is verified intelligence indicating that India intends to carry out a military operation against Pakistan. India is using the Pahalgam incident as justification for aggression,” said the minister.

He clearly stated that if India carries out any form of aggression, Pakistan will respond decisively and strongly. “Pakistan will hold India fully responsible for the potentially disastrous consequences in the region,” he warned.

Tarar dismissed India’s accusations and rejected its narrative. He said Pakistan would not accept India’s self-assigned role as “plaintiff, judge and executioner” in regional issues. He reminded that Pakistan itself has suffered from terrorism for more than 20 years and continues to condemn terrorism in all forms across the world.

The minister pointed out that Pakistan had taken a responsible approach after the Pahalgam incident. He said Pakistan had offered an independent and neutral investigation to uncover the real facts and motives behind the attack. “Unfortunately, India chose the path of irrationality and confrontation,” Tarar stated.

He added that India’s refusal to agree to a neutral investigation shows its real intentions. “Using such attacks to pursue political objectives is both unfortunate and condemnable,” he said.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s position, Tarar concluded: “Any military adventurism from India will receive a certain and decisive response. The international community must recognise that responsibility for any catastrophic escalation will rest solely with India. The people of Pakistan will defend their sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs.”

Modi Gives Army Full “Operational Freedom” After Pahalgam Attack

Modi Gives Army Full “Operational Freedom” After Pahalgam Attack

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given India’s military full freedom to respond to the deadly attack in Pahalgam, located in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), according to a senior Indian government official who spoke to AFP on Tuesday. The decision came after India blamed Pakistan for the attack, but no evidence was shared publicly. This has further increased tension between the two nuclear-armed countries.

Modi had a closed-door meeting with army and security officials on Tuesday. He instructed them to independently decide the “mode, targets and timing” of the response. The government later released a video showing Modi in a serious discussion with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and senior military leaders.

Tension at the LoC

Meanwhile, firing continued along the Line of Control (LoC), with India accusing Pakistan of “unprovoked” small arms fire for the fifth straight night. Pakistan’s army shot down two Indian drones that had violated its airspace. India did not respond publicly as of the time this report was written.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres spoke on the phone with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and India’s Foreign Minister. He expressed “deep concern” about the rising tension. PM Shehbaz condemned terrorism in all forms but said India’s accusations were “baseless.” He asked for a transparent and neutral investigation into the Pahalgam attack and warned against India’s attempts to delegitimise the Kashmiri freedom struggle.

Shehbaz also said India’s use of water as a weapon was unacceptable and reminded that water is vital for 240 million people in Pakistan. He warned, “Pakistan will defend its sovereignty with full force against any Indian misadventure” and urged the UN chief to advise India to “act responsibly and exercise restraint.” Guterres praised Pakistan’s efforts for peace and said the world could not afford conflict between two nuclear states.

The April 22 attack in Pahalgam killed 26 civilians, making it one of the deadliest in years. India issued wanted posters for three suspects, including two Pakistanis and one Indian. A reward of two million rupees has been announced for each. Indian forces are arresting people across the region.

Pakistan’s military spokesperson, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, held a press conference in Rawalpindi on Tuesday. He said Indian army officers were involved in cross-border terrorism and supplying explosives to attackers. “Seven days have passed since the Pahalgam incident, and so far, India has not presented any evidence for its baseless allegations,” he said. He added that India is running a terror network in Pakistan, giving militants IEDs, explosives and money. “This irrefutable evidence is just one small part of India’s state-sponsored terrorism,” he stated.

Gold Prices Surge in Pakistan Following Global Market Rally

Gold Prices Surge in Pakistan Following Global Market Rally

Gold prices in Pakistan saw a sharp increase on Tuesday, driven by a strong rally in the international market and further fueled by the continuous depreciation of the Pakistani rupee.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold rose by Rs2,100 per tola, reaching Rs349,200 — a significant jump reflecting both global and local pressures. Similarly, the price for 10 grams climbed by Rs1,800, now sitting at Rs299,382.

This spike comes as global gold prices jumped by $21 per ounce, hitting $3,310, a fresh high. The surge highlights renewed interest in gold as a safe-haven asset amid global economic concerns, inflation fears, and geopolitical tensions.

Jewellers in local markets say the rally is largely influenced by two major factors: international demand and a weakening rupee. Since gold is imported and traded in dollars, any fall in the local currency translates into higher domestic prices.

Read more: Gold Prices Hit Record High in Pakistan Amid Global Surge

“We’re seeing a strong reaction in prices, and it’s a mix of global cues and our rupee’s situation,” said a jeweller in Karachi. “While some buyers are hesitant due to the spike, long-term investors are still showing interest.”

Despite the bullish momentum, there was some cooling in the market during early trading. As of 0935 GMT, spot gold slipped 0.8% to $3,313.23 an ounce, while US gold futures dropped 0.7% to $3,323.80. Experts say price corrections like this are typical after steep climbs.

Other precious metals also saw movement. Silver rose 0.4% to $33.30 an ounce, platinum edged up 0.2% to $988.60, while palladium dipped 0.5% to $944.22.

With economic uncertainty looming and currency pressures unlikely to ease soon, analysts expect gold to remain in focus both globally and in Pakistan. For many, it’s not just about jewellery anymore — it’s about stability in unstable times.

Pakistan Shoots Downs an Indian Quadcopter for Airspace Violation Near LoC

Pakistan Shoots Downs an Indian Quadcopter for Airspace Violation Near LoC

Pakistani security forces shot down an Indian quadcopter on Tuesday for violating the country’s airspace near the Line of Control (LoC), according to state media. The incident took place in the Kotli sector of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan’s state-run Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported that the quadcopter was entering Pakistani territory from the Indian side when it was shot and brought down.

The APP cited unnamed security sources about the incident, reporting, “Pakistan Army troops shot down an Indian spying quadcopter in the Kotli sector.” According to these sources, the Indian drone violated Pakistan’s airspace and entered about 600 meters across the LoC before troops shot it down.

Pakistan has repeatedly highlighted previous incidents of Indian drones intruding into its airspace across the LoC. This latest event adds to the ongoing tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours, who have a history of border conflicts in the disputed Kashmir region. According to APP, there was no official statement from India immediately after the incident.

History of Drone Violations and Tensions Near the Line of Control

  • Pakistan and India often accuse each other of violating airspace and ceasefire agreements along the heavily militarised LoC.
  • The LoC divides the Indian-administered portion of Jammu and Kashmir from the area controlled by Pakistan.
  • Both countries claim the Himalayan region in its entirety.

Media reports from previous years highlight that similar aerial violations have occurred in the past. Pakistani forces shot down multiple Indian drones in 2020 and 2021, which, according to Pakistani military statements, had crossed into Pakistani airspace for surveillance purposes.

No Immediate Response from Indian Authorities

According to the APP, Indian officials have not responded to this latest claim. Such incidents often trigger diplomatic protests between both sides, but rarely escalate further. Tensions remain high along the LoC, where sporadic clashes and ceasefire violations still take place despite past agreements.

Karachi University floods, resulting in an overflow of water on the premises and the surrounding area. This happened after a main pipeline, 83 inches wide, burst on the campus, flooding half of the neighbouring areas and the university campus alike. Water has infiltrated homes, causing a flood-like situation, causing great distress to people living in the area.

Failure to Take Action

Despite constant complaints and prior warnings by the residents, authorities have failed to take any action to fix the pipeline. Currently, the pipeline supplied water to various neigbourhoods in Karachi, which means that this incident would affect the lives of many for the upcoming weeks.

Pakistan Likely to Receive IMF Loan Tranche in Early May

The IMF Executive Board will meet on May 9 to decide on the disbursement of a $1.1 billion loan tranche to Pakistan, following a staff-level agreement reached in March.

This development brought a mild recovery in Pakistan’s stock market, which bounced back 135 points after an earlier dip of 500 points. The PSX had opened weak, affected by rising Pakistan-India tensions following a deadly attack in Pahalgam, IIOJK.

Alongside the tranche, Pakistan is also set to receive $1.3 billion in climate financing under a new 28-month programme, bringing total support to $2.3 billion. The funds will target reforms in climate resilience and the energy sector.

The IMF praised Pakistan’s commitment to reforms aimed at reducing public debt and boosting climate resilience. Emphasis was placed on improving water management, environmental protection, and budget reforms.

While the economy shows signs of recovery, the IMF warned of ongoing risks, including geopolitical tensions and global market volatility. It stressed strict adherence to fiscal discipline and avoiding budget overruns.

Pakistan has also pledged to expand cash assistance under BISP and cut energy subsidies to meet IMF targets.

At the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb called for urgent global action on climate change, citing the 2022 floods as proof of the threat. He urged the rapid rollout of the Loss and Damage Fund to support vulnerable nations like Pakistan.

Pakistan Blocks Major Indian Cyber Attacks Targeting Federal Ministries

Pakistan Blocks Major Indian Cyber Attacks Targeting Federal Ministries
Pakistan Blocks Major Indian Cyber Attacks Targeting Federal Ministries

Pakistan has successfully repelled a wave of cyber attacks launched from India. The attacks targeted multiple federal ministries and key government platforms. The attempted breach aimed to access sensitive data and disrupt critical digital infrastructure. It posed a serious threat to national security.

Shaza Fatima asserted that the cyber attacks caused no major damage and did not impact the country’s telecom infrastructure. She explained that the websites of federal ministries are hosted on the National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC) system, which maintains a robust cybersecurity mechanism. “There was no significant disruption, and our systems remained intact,” she added.

Agencies Mobilise Swiftly

In response, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) joined forces. They worked alongside the Ministry’s Cyber Security Cell to neutralise the threat. Enhanced firewalls, updated response protocols, and advanced monitoring tools were deployed across all affected platforms.

This wasn’t an isolated event. Pakistan has faced multiple cyberattacks in recent years. It now relies on threat intelligence and heuristic analysis to stay prepared. Experts note that modern conflicts aren’t fought only on the battlefield. Digital warfare—using lines of code—has become a new front in national defence.

Why it Matters to Everyone

Why should everyday users care? Because attacks on government systems can quickly snowball. They can affect tax systems, ID verifications, and even fuel misinformation campaigns. The impact can spread across citizens, businesses, and the broader digital economy.

Defending the Digital Frontier

By stopping the attacks early, Pakistan has shown it’s ready to defend its digital infrastructure. As threats grow more complex, the country’s cyber resilience is also advancing. It’s backed by better tech, skilled talent, and faster response teams.

For digital entrepreneurs and young professionals, cyber awareness is now essential. National security depends not only on smart systems—but on smarter users too.

Canada Election Results: Mark Carney’s Long Dead Liberal Party Wins

Canada Election Results_ Mark Carney’s Long Dead Liberals Win

Canada just witnessed a political resurrection. In the recent Canadian elections, the Liberal Party of Canada has pulled off a stunning victory under the leadership of former Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney. Once dismissed by critics as the party of the past, the Liberals surged to a majority in the House of Commons, reshaping the country’s political landscape and marking a dramatic return to relevance.

Let’s be clear: This wasn’t just a Liberal win; it was a repudiation of Donald Trump’s cross-border bullying.

The ‘Dead’ Liberals: Written Off Too Soon

For years, pundits and voters alike had largely written off the Liberals as a spent force. Weakened by declining public trust, scandals during Justin Trudeau’s final years in office, and a rapidly shifting electorate, the party struggled to define itself in the face of a growing Conservative wave and the persistent presence of the New Democratic Party (NDP). By the time Trudeau stepped down, many assumed the red brand was destined for a long stay in opposition.

Enter Mark Carney.

The former central banker, once dubbed “the most powerful Canadian you’ve never heard of,” had been courted by the Liberals for years. With his technocratic resume, international experience and calm demeanour, Carney was seen by insiders as the ideal antidote to political fatigue. Carney responded with a campaign unlike any in recent memory.

Trump Helped Elect Mark Carney

Ironically, Canada’s political earthquake had an American epicentre: Donald Trump. His erratic threats toward Canada during the campaign were so outrageous that they united Canadians across ideological lines. Inadvertently, Trump gave Carney his clearest message: Canada needs calm, not chaos.

Voters looked south and recoiled. Carney, with his steely calm and international gravitas, felt like a safe harbour in a geopolitical storm. He wasn’t exciting, and that’s exactly why Canadians voted for him.

A Campaign that Ignored the Noise

Carney’s strategy was simple: he refused to play the viral game. Just policy, clarity and a laser focus on economics. He hammered home the housing crisis with detailed proposals. He connected climate action with economic stability. He leaned into his technocratic record, showing voters he knows how financial systems work and that he might just know how to fix what’s broken.

While Poilievre courted culture wars and sound bites, Carney stuck to the script. Voters noticed.

No Majority? No Problem

Let’s not pretend this was a flawless win. The Liberals didn’t get a majority. With 167 seats, they’re still five short of total control. But make no mistake: this was a massive comeback. It’s more than just a numbers game; it’s a credibility win. Carney proved the Liberals can still be relevant, serious and electable.

The irony? He doesn’t even hold a seat yet. That’ll be rectified soon, but it’s a surreal moment: Canada’s new prime minister is a man who just introduced himself to most voters months ago.

The Real Test Begins Now

Carney is no messiah. His background in finance, including ties to Goldman Sachs, will raise eyebrows, especially among those still licking their wounds from Trudeau’s corporate coziness. And while he may have distanced himself from the Trudeau era rhetorically, the question remains: how different will his governance be?

He now faces an electorate that’s hopeful but skeptical. Canadians want more than stability; they want housing they can afford, groceries they can buy, and climate leadership that doesn’t sound like corporate greenwashing.

Is Netflix the Saviour Hollywood Needs? Co-CEO Ted Sarandos Believes it Just Might Be

Is Netflix the Saviour Hollywood Needs? Co-CEO Ted Sarandos Believes it Just Might Be

At the TIME100 Summit, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos made headlines by declaring that streaming platforms are revitalising, not ruining, the film industry. “No, we’re saving Hollywood,” he asserted, rejecting the narrative that Netflix and its competitors are to blame for the decline of traditional cinema. He emphasised that Netflix’s strength lies in consumer convenience and accessibility.

The Decline of Theaters

Sarandos cited declining box office sales as evidence of shifting viewer habits. “What is the consumer attempting to communicate to us? That they’d prefer to view films in their homes,” he stated. For many, the movie theater experience seems to be something of the past in an age where good content is a click away. Although he admitted that some still enjoy the big screen, characterising theaters as “an outdated concept—save for most people, not all people.”

Streaming has upended content production and delivery. It has created opportunities for new filmmakers and unorthodox storytelling that would not thrive in a theater-first paradigm. Series like The Queen’s Gambit and Beef were cultural touchstones without ever being seen on the silver screen. Sarandos contends that Netflix isn’t fighting theaters—it’s constructing a parallel universe that’s more inclusive and a lot more dynamic.

Global Reach and Creative Risk

Platforms such as Netflix have driven international storytelling mainstream. Korean television dramas, German thrillers, and Spanish series are reaching an international audience. Passion projects previously shunned by risk-averse studios now receive life on streaming platforms. Even so, not all strike a chord—blockbuster titles such as The Electric State and Damsel have disappointed—but leave space for experimentation.

Though its critics chide Netflix for saturating the market with its erratic content, Sarandos sees this as strength in numbers. Streaming honours niche tastes, delivers on demand, and expresses the varied, shifting demands of global viewership. To him it’s not an end to film but a renewal.

The Future is Already Playing

The future of Hollywood is far from decided, but one thing is for sure: the screen landscape is shifting. Whether or not theaters can change quickly enough to remain relevant is yet to be determined, but as Sarandos maintains, the future of storytelling is already here—and it’s streaming.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar to Pay this Muslim Country’s Debt!

Saudi Arabia and Qatar to Pay this Muslim Country’s Debt!

No, it’s not Pakistan!  In a dramatic breakthrough for post-conflict Syria, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have offered to settle Syria’s $15 million World Bank debt—potentially opening the door to a new era of international assistance after more than a decade of economic estrangement. The development, which was made public on the sidelines of last week’s World Bank and IMF meetings in Washington, could enable Syria to reconnect with global financial institutions and access essential development assistance.

Syria’s Economic Collapse

The economy of the country is still in shambles after a 14-year civil war that resulted in the removal of long-time ruler Bashar al-Assad. The war destroyed industries and infrastructure. Now, more than 90% of Syrians are poor, and unemployment still rises. The Syrian pound has fallen from 50 to 15,000 per U.S. dollar, indicating a complete loss of economic stability.

In spite of the change in regime, the economic situation for Syrians has not seen much change. In the new rebel government, strict policies have contributed to public misery—banks are short of liquidity, subsidies have been cut, and scores of civil servants have been fired. Long bank queues and rampant inflation have become the new norm.

Mixed Reactions from the International Community

While the Syrian government in Damascus had shown “deep gratitude” to the Gulf nations for their support, wider global reactions are still wary. Several Western powers, such as the EU and the UK, have started to relax sanctions. The U.S. issued a six-month general license, granting partial exemptions. But the U.S. still insists on stiff conditions—especially a decline in Iranian influence and worries about new President Ahmed al-Shara‘s previous connections to Al-Qaeda.

A Symbolic but Fragile Step Forward

Saudi Arabia and Qatar indicated their move came after Syria made a proposal centred on stabilisation, poverty alleviation, and development. A statement issued jointly by major financial officials, such as the IMF and World Bank, recognised the “urgent challenges” facing Syria and signalled collective intent to help relief efforts.

Can Financial Relief Spark Real Change?

The $15 million payment is small in dollar amounts, but its implications are sweeping. It’s a regional acceptance of dealing with Syria’s rebuilding. Whether that amounts to actual progress for Syrians—or is yet another political lightning rod—can’t be said yet.

PSL 10: Multan Sultans vs. Quetta Gladiators – Predictions, Players to Watch & More

PSL 10: Multan Sultans vs. Quetta Gladiators – Predictions, Players to Watch & More

As match 18 of the HBL PSL 10 comes to Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, everyone is focused on Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans—two teams on largely divergent paths this season.

Quetta Gladiators: Momentum in their Favour

Quetta Gladiators are presently well-placed in third spot in the points table with three victories and two defeats. They are high on confidence as they come into this game following a crushing 64-run victory over Peshawar Zalmi. The batting department was in good order in that match, with strong beginnings by Finn Allen and Rilee Rossouw, as Mark Chapman was the glue at the middle order. With a good Net Run Rate of 0.140, they’re seeking to nail down their place in the top four.

In the bowling department, leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed has been a revelation, with 9 wickets in 5 matches. Faheem Ashraf’s four-wicket effort in the previous game brought much-needed firepower to their attack, and the pairing of Mohammad Amir and Akeal Hosein continues to mount pressure during the powerplay.

Multan Sultans: A Season Slipping Away

For Multan Sultans, it’s the opposite. They’re stuck at the bottom of the table, having won only one of their six games and having an abysmal Net Run Rate of -1.562. They scored 185 in their last game but failed as Lahore Qalandars chased the target down with five wickets to spare.

Mohammad Rizwan continues to be the only warrior with 302 runs this season, leading the PSL run charts. Kamran Ghulam’s 52 in the previous match was an encouraging sign, but the remaining batting order has not been able to fire repeatedly. In the bowling unit, Ubaid Shah has been great with 9 wickets, but overall, Multan’s bowling has been without bite and in the face of pressure.

Players to Watch

All attention will be on Finn Allen, who’s likely to go big in the powerplay, and Usman Khan, who must deliver if Multan is to remain in the race. In the bowling department, Michael Bracewell and Khurram Shahzad might prove to be the game-changers for their sides.

Prediction

With form, momentum, and team balance in their favour, Quetta Gladiators are favourites going into this encounter. Look for them to score 185+ if they get to bat first, and beat Multan in what promises to be another disappointing night for Rizwan’s side.

Third Time’s the Charm? Model Sona Rafiq’s Husband Taha Memon Thinks So!

Third Time’s the Charm? Model Sona Rafiq’s Husband Taha Memon Thinks So!
Third Time’s the Charm? Model Sona Rafiq’s Husband Taha Memon Thinks So!

No one can tell you about polygamy any better than Pakistani men. Yes, after the Filhal controversy we have another polygamous controversy coming our way and even though it’s all just “alleged,” as of official reports, we can’t help but wonder. Because this time it’s more than just a statement. This news of the town is: Sona Rafiq’s ex-husband Taha Memon’s third marriage.

Although, both of them have been pretty quiet on this topic, but history has it that social media spares no one and this time there is a reel to confirm this too.

A Fast-Tracked Divorce and an Even Faster Rebound

Yes, you heard that right. Barely after the ink dried on the divorce papers, Taha Memon has already been parading his new marriage online. That too, with a completely tone-deaf, in-your-face wedding reel that has left fans (and critics) both equally shocked and disgusted. Could he have moved on any faster without setting a world record?

The intriguing aspect is that his divorce from Sona remains unconfirmed.  Speculation first arose from their absence of mutual follows on social media and the disappearance of their oh-so-cute “couple goals” pictures on Instagram. And now with the wedding reel (where Taha seems to be dancing on his broken promises), the speculations are getting more and more fortified. Just how easy it is to move on with no sense of accountability.

A Timeline too Quick to Ignore

And here’s where things get even juicier: Taha has a history. This isn’t his first messy relationship exit. His first marriage ended under equally shady circumstances, fueling long-standing whispers of emotional betrayal and infidelity. Some insiders have even pointed out that “old habits die hard,” suggesting that perhaps Taha has a pattern.

While neither Sona nor Taha have publicly addressed the details behind their breakup, the sequence of events leaves much to the imagination. Taha’s new marriage seems to have happened so swiftly that it’s difficult not to speculate whether emotional ties were being formed before his relationship with Sona had officially ended.

It is true that there is no concrete proof on the internet that Taha cheated on Sona, and we must tread carefully around assumptions. Yet, considering Taha’s history and the allegations surrounding the end of his first marriage; it’s difficult to give him the full benefit of the doubt.

Where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire — or at least a deeply buried pile of ash.

A Timeline Too Quick to Ignore
A Timeline Too Quick to Ignore

Lack of Emotional Accountability?

Taha Memon’s reckless approach to marriage reflects poorly on his personal brand. Relationships aren’t TikTok transitions where you switch partners with a quick swipe and a trendy sound. The lack of emotional accountability reeks of a deeply problematic mindset that values optics over genuine connection.

Marriage is not a game of musical chairs; it demands emotional maturity, patience and self-awareness. Without confronting the behaviours that led to the relationship breakdown, Taha risks repeating the same mistakes: at the cost of another person’s peace.

If love is treated like a PR opportunity, its shelf life will always be short.
