The Government of Pakistan has awarded green-field status to Chinese brand, KA Hanteng Motor Company Pvt. Ltd, under the new automotive policy of 2016-2021.
This means that KA Hanteng Motors can now officially start operations in Pakistan with an investment of $50 million.
The brand will manufacturer passenger cars & SUVs. It will operate under a joint venture with a capacity of 15,000 units per annum.
After signing the agreement, KA Hanteng Motors will strictly follow all conditions laid down in Notifications No. 2(9)/2013-LED-II dated 2nd June 2016.
This venture will open more doorways for Chinese automotive companies to invest within the country. The brand intends on bringing hybrid vehicles and SUVs in the near future.
Hanteng Pakistan website shows the X5 SUV and X7S SUV in both gasoline and hybrid derivatives.
