The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has issued a warning for Karachiites living in buildings that have been discovered as a threat to citizens.

According to the authorities, around 354 buildings, mainly located in the Saddar downtown area, have been reported to be on the verge of collapse and have been deemed dangerous to be occupied by families.

This warning has been issued keeping in mind the onset of the monsoon rains that are expected in the  mid of July and are expected to continue till August.

The SBCA has also stated that these dilapidated buildings not only pose a danger to the occupants but also to the surrounding buildings.

Although several of these hazardous buildings have been torn down by the government, there are yet a large number of such buildings, still being used as homes manyf families.
