PISA (Pakistan International Screen Awards) is about to get its second edition on November 5th, 2021. The awards will take place in Dubai and will be acknowledging the efforts of individuals in 24 categories. In these categories, you will find artists from the TV, Music, Fashion, and Digital Content industries. Film is not a part of PISA 2021 due to the pandemic and the consequent lockdown on cinemas.
But for the rest of the categories, allegedly, stalwarts of the industries were employed to be the jury; because there are some nominations that do not make sense at all.

PISA 2021 nominations
Except for the jury awards and the PISA Special awards, all other winners will be decided through online voting.
1. Dananeer Mobeen
Remember the pawry girl? Why would you not? If someone has cashed the one-time hype well, it is Dananeer. Her video went viral and more than her original content, this Indian guy’s touch made it more engaging. However, Dananeer cashed it well and is now seen in numerous ads but getting an award for ‘Most Entertaining Instagram Celebrity’ is just nonsensical.
2. Shahmeer Abbas
Shahmeer has been nominated for the YouTuber of the Year award. Considering his awful prank videos are his content and that he was part of a very controversial scandal, it is just awkward seeing him in the nominations.
3. Sham Idrees
Nominate Zaid Ali or if you are out of nominations for the Vlogger of the Year category. What is this with nominating Sham Idrees? It does not even make sense because his content is half of the time, fake. And at other times, cringeworthy.
4. Zanjabeel Asim Shah
Zanjabeel Asim Shah got nominated for Best TV writer. The project that brought her the recognition was Pyar Ke Sadqay which got aired on HUM TV. In the drama, you get to see an immature girl who doesn’t want to study and only aims to get married. Moreover, it also has her husband’s stepfather hitting on her.

The drama was stupid and got a lot of backlash from the viewers as well.
5. Pyar Ke SadqayΒ
Best TV Serial award for the MD and Moomal Entertainment creation does not sit right with me as well and for all the reasons stated above. Considering I, for one, was excited about the show given its stellar cast, was hugely disappointed.
These are a few nominations of PISA 2021 that are not qualified to be on the list and especially be placed next to good selections. But that’s just our opinion. What do you think?
