Mr. Bernhard Stephan Schlagheck, the ambassador of Germany recently paid a visit to Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Mr. Muhammad Hammad Azhar.

The aim of the visit and meeting was to facilitate the local business community by improving the transfer of technology and establishing joint ventures and trade delegations.

According to the ambassador, not only will the technical and vocational trainings help to ensure a more sustainable and developed economy, but the ties between Pakistan and Germany will also be strengthened by increased trade and market access.

Mr. Azhar briefed the German ambassador about how the current government of Pakistan has planned and prioritized the country’s development.

The following subjects were touched upon:

  • a focus on transparency,
  • institutional reforms,
  • poverty mitigation,
  • human resource development,
  • green energy.

The German government committed to investing a grand sum of €109 million to Pakistan to work in energy, governance, and economic development sectors.

Mr. Azhar expressed gratitude to the German government for showing interest in investing in Pakistan and its citizens and showing such dedication to improving the living standards here.
