Call of Duty Console Players Gain Crossplay Option in Black Ops 6

Treyarch has announced a new feature for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone that allows console players to turn off crossplay. The feature, which will be available with the start of Season 2 on January 28, addresses long-standing complaints from console players about cheaters and the advantages of PC players in ranked mode.

This change is a significant step for Activision in improving the ranked experience for console users. Players using consoles will now have the option to compete only with other console players, avoiding challenges from cheaters or those using PCs. How to Build the Perfect Skincare Routine for your Skin Type

How to Build the Perfect Skincare Routine

Building an effective skincare routine tailored to your specific skin type is essential for maintaining healthy and radiant skin. Whether you have dry, oily, or combination skin, understanding your skin’s needs and choosing the right products can make a significant difference. It can minimise your pores, clean out the clogged ones, reduce redness and swelling and do so much more. Here’s a simple guide to help you establish a skincare routine that works for you.

Understanding Your Skin Type

Before selecting products, it’s crucial to identify your skin type. Dry skin often feels tight, may have flaky areas and lacks natural oils. Oily skin, on the other hand, appears shiny, especially in the T-zone and is more prone to acne. In simple words, it’s more irritable. Combination skin exhibits both dry and oily areas, with the T-zone typically being oilier, while the cheeks may feel drier. Sensitive skin is easily irritated and may react to certain products, showing signs like redness, itching, or breakouts. Understanding your skin type is the first step in building an effective skincare routine.

FBR Chairman Admits to Corruption within the Department

FBR Chairman Admits to Corruption Within the Department

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Rashid Langrial acknowledged that corruption is still prevalent in the FBR during a briefing to the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Finance. “Corrupt practices are still going on in FBR,” Langrial admitted while detailing new tax reforms aimed at expanding the tax base and combating black money. He highlighted that non-filers would face restrictions on buying property, vehicles or making formal investments. “These measures are designed to formalize economic transactions and reduce the influence of the black economy,” he emphasised.

Key reforms include granting FBR officers additional powers to tackle tax evasion and allowing the cabinet to recruit auditors to improve tax collection. However, Langrial admitted that tax revenues remain stagnant, with current revenue levels comparable to those of 2008. “The revenue is not keeping pace with inflation or economic growth,” he noted, highlighting the lack of progress in addressing systemic issues.

State Minister for Finance Ali Pervez Malik supported these reforms, stressing the need to curb vehicle purchases with black money and address imbalances in the tourism economy. He described the measures as essential for achieving economic sustainability.

During the discussion, Hina Rabbani Khar raised concerns about granting FBR officials the authority to block citizens’ bank accounts. She called for a more transparent and effective tax system to address corruption concerns. Langrial also acknowledged that the proposed reforms might create challenges for citizens and the economy, particularly in light of ongoing foreign exchange shortages.

The Standing Committee on Finance recognised the importance of the reforms but stressed the need to address public concerns and ensure greater accountability within the FBR to build public trust in the system.

Top 5 Highest Peaks of Pakistan

Top 5 Highest Peaks of Pakistan

Pakistan is home to some of the highest and most challenging mountains in the world. The country lies within the Himalayan, Karakoram and Hindu Kush ranges, which include many peaks over 7,000 metres. These mountains are just breathtakingly scenic. They exist among humble villages and attract climbers from all over the globe.

Here’s a look at the top five highest peaks of Pakistan.

1. K2 (8,611 metres)

K2, also known as Mount Godwin-Austen, is the second-highest mountain in the world, standing at 8,611 metres. Located in the Karakoram Range, it has a fearsome reputation among climbers. The peak is known for its technical difficulty and extreme weather conditions. The first successful summit was made by Achille Compagnoni and Lino Lacedelli in 1954. The climb of K2 however, is risky and death-taking.

Climbers typically begin their trek to K2 from the Askole village. The route involves challenging glacier walks and dangerous ice walls. Despite the dangerous conditions, K2 remains a coveted goal for mountaineers. The trek offers stunning views of glaciers and icefalls but requires expert skills due to unpredictable weather and avalanches.

2. Nanga Parbat (8,126 metres)

Nanga Parbat, also known as the “Killer Mountain,” is the ninth-highest peak in the world. Standing at 8,126 metres, it is located in the western Himalayas. The mountain was first summited in 1953 by Hermann Buhl, who achieved the feat alone and without supplemental oxygen, cementing his place in mountaineering history.

The mountain’s treacherous Rupal face is one of the highest uninterrupted vertical drops in the world. Climbers often attempt the route from the village of Raikot. The journey includes difficult trails through dense forests and rocky terrain. The weather is extremely harsh, and avalanches are a constant threat. Climbers must keep in mind that Nanga Parbat is one of the most dangerous peaks to climb.

3. Gasherbrum II (8,035 metres)

Gasherbrum II, standing at 8,035 metres, is the 13th-highest peak in the world and one of the most significant peaks in the Karakoram Range. First summited in 1956 by an Austrian expedition, it is part of the Gasherbrum massif, which includes several other notable peaks like Gasherbrum I.

The standard route to Gasherbrum II is challenging but less technical compared to K2 or Nanga Parbat. Climbers begin their ascent from the Baltoro Glacier, navigating through steep rock faces and snow slopes. Despite being less famous than its towering neighbours, Gasherbrum II remains a popular choice for experienced mountaineers due to its beautiful and remote setting.

4. Broad Peak (8,051 metres)

Broad Peak, standing at 8,051 metres, is the 12th-highest mountain in the world. It is located near K2, in the Karakoram Range. This particular mountain is best known for its broad summit, which is where it gets its name. The mountain was first summited in 1957 by an Austrian team led by Hermann Buhl.

The trek to Broad Peak starts from the same base camp used for K2, with climbers taking a similar route through the Baltoro Glacier. The climb is less technical than K2, but it still presents dangers like crevasses and avalanches. Broad Peak is a popular destination for climbers who want to experience the Karakoram Range without attempting the more daunting K2. This mountain is a great alternative to K2 if you’re relatively new to this field.

5. K5 (8,080 metres)

Gasherbrum I, also known as K5, is located in the Karakoram Range and stands at 8,080 metres. It was first summited in 1958 by an American expedition. Gasherbrum I is the 11th highest peak in the world. It is also part of the Karakoram range, which includes several other notable peaks. Despite its relatively lower height compared to K2 or Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum I is considered a very challenging climb.

The standard route to Gasherbrum I involves a trek through the Baltoro Glacier, followed by a steep ascent. Climbers face high-altitude conditions, with the summit ridge requiring careful navigation. The mountain’s remoteness and technical difficulty make it an attractive challenge for experienced mountaineers.

Pakistan’s highest peaks are more than just towering mountains. They represent adventure, challenge and the allure of the unknown. From the brutal slopes of K2 to the serene beauty of Gasherbrum II, each peak offers a unique experience for mountaineers. Japan Aquarium Sticks Human Cardboard for Lonely Sunfish

Japan Aquarium sticks Human Cardboard for Lonely Sunfish

A sunfish in Japan felt lonely during the temporary closure of its aquarium. Turns out, the aquarium, located in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, found a creative way to cheer it up.

Sunfish Misses Visitors

The Kaikyokan aquarium closed for renovations in December. After that, the sunfish stopped eating its favourite jellyfish and started rubbing against the tank. Staff initially thought it might have a health issue, like parasites or digestive problems. However, one team member suggested the sunfish might just be lonely without visitors.

A Unique Solution

To help the sunfish, staff placed photos of human faces on uniforms and lined them up near its tank. This was their “last resort” to solve the sunfish’s problem. Amazingly, the idea worked! “It seems to be in good health again!” the aquarium wrote on X the next day.

After the photos and uniforms went up, the fish “felt better” the following day and was seen “waving its fins” in the tank, the aquarium said in its X post.

The Sunfish’s Recovery

The day after the photos went up, the sunfish started waving its fins in the tank. Staff noticed it was more active and looked much better. The fish, which is about 80 cm long and weighs 30 kg, has a curious personality. It often swims up to people when they approach its tank.

Social Media’s Response

The story touched many hearts online. People shared photos and videos from past visits to the aquarium. Others promised to visit the sunfish once the aquarium reopens.

Other Innovative Ideas from Japan

During the pandemic, as zoos around the world reported that their animals were becoming lonely due to a lack of visitors, an aquarium in Tokyo organised an “emergency” video call event for its eels, which they believed had become uncomfortable with humans after not seeing them for a long time.

The story of the lonely sunfish highlights the emotional connections animals can form with humans. It also shows the dedication and creativity of aquarium staff in ensuring the well-being of their animals. Whether through photos, video calls, or other methods, these efforts remind us of the importance of caring for all living creatures. The Kaikyokan aquarium’s solution not only helped the sunfish recover but also brought joy to people worldwide.

MrBeast takes Private Jet to Place Official Bid for TikTok Purchase

Source: Obtec

YouTube star Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson confirmed he’s submitting a bid to buy TikTok, but this follows months of rumours regarding the app’s uncertain future in the US following government scrutiny of its parent company, ByteDance.

Timeline of Trouble for TikTok

TikTok’s operations were in danger of shutdown in the United States after Joe Biden’s administration had made it a rule for ByteDance to sell its US business by January 19, 2025. The application was down briefly on that evening leaving millions of Americans in suspense, but TikTok was back thanks to a last-minute executive order from Donald Trump, pushing back the deadline for selling off its US operations.

This extension has led high-profile figures such as investor Kevin O’Leary and MrBeast to consider buying the application.

MrBeast’s Big Move

MrBeast, a YouTube personality famous for his philanthropy and record-breaking videos, took a major step toward acquiring TikTok. On January 20, he posted a video from a private jet announcing his formal bid for the platform.

“TikTok, I’m on a private jet right now about to put in my official offer for this platform,” he shared. “I might become you guys’ new CEO. I’m super excited.” While the details of his proposal remain confidential, MrBeast referred to it as “crazy,” which has got some of his fans really excited about owning him.

This came after a string of tweets early in January when he said several billionaires reached out to him interested in buying the social media platform. By January 15, MrBeast assured everyone he was dead serious with his bid saying, “I mean business.”

TikTok’s Future Hangs in the Balance

Despite the short-term reprieve, TikTok’s future is still far from certain. Trump has hinted at splitting 50% ownership of the platform with U.S. stakeholders, but ByteDance seems resistant to selling. While initially open to a potential buyout, recent reports suggest that ByteDance has now changed its mind, making things complicated for negotiations.

TikTok users are optimistic, however. Trump’s executive order and interest from figures like MrBeast have reignited optimism about the app’s continued availability in the U.S.

What’s Next for MrBeast and TikTok?

The acquisition of TikTok by MrBeast would be a historic moment at the intersection of content creation and corporate ownership. The bid marks a new era of influencer-driven leadership in major tech platforms, and fans are eagerly awaiting updates.

For now, all that users and industry observers can do is wait to see if MrBeast’s offer or government-to-government negotiations will secure TikTok’s future in the U.S. But one thing is for sure: the outcome will have far-reaching implications for social media and its governance worldwide

The Story Behind the White Jacket: What Makes the Champions Trophy Unique?

ICC-Champions-Trophy-2025-Pakistan-PCB-champions-trophy-basit-ali-pcb-sri-lanka-1996-white-jacket-sarfaraz-ahmed

The ICC Champions Trophy is more than just a cricket tournament; it’s a spectacle where history, pride, and tradition come alive. With the 2025 edition set to begin on February 19, there’s one item besides the trophy itself that every cricketer dreams of wearing — the iconic white jacket.

But why is this white jacket such a big deal? Let’s explore the story behind it.

A Tradition Born in 2009

While the Champions Trophy began way back in 1998 in Bangladesh, the white jacket didn’t make an appearance until the 2009 edition. That year, Australia lifted the trophy in South Africa, and for the first time, the winners donned the pristine white blazers during the post-match celebrations.

Since then, this jacket has become an integral part of the Champions Trophy tradition, adding a touch of class and exclusivity. It’s not just a piece of clothing; it’s a symbol of supremacy in world cricket, worn only by those who conquer the competition.

More Than Just a Trophy

The white jacket brings an added layer of motivation for the competing teams. While lifting the trophy is the ultimate goal, slipping into the white blazer gives the moment an extra edge. It’s a statement of victory, a celebration of grit and glory, and a nod to the tournament’s rich legacy.

India’s 2013 triumph in England saw them become the second team to don the coveted white jackets. Then came Pakistan’s unforgettable victory in 2017, where they crushed India in the final under Sarfaraz Ahmed’s inspired leadership. That win not only made them champions but also the third team in history to wear the jacket.

The Return of the Champions Trophy

After a long break, the Champions Trophy is finally making its much-anticipated return in 2025. Co-hosted by Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates, the tournament promises fierce battles, incredible moments, and a chance for one team to claim both the trophy and the iconic white jacket.

Set to begin on February 19, the tournament will conclude on March 9, with Pakistan aiming to defend their title. Adding to the excitement, cricket legend Wasim Akram recently unveiled the updated white jacket in an ICC promo. This year’s design features the tournament logo alongside the host nation’s name, “Pakistan,” etched in golden letters on the chest pocket.

A Jacket That Inspires Greatness

The Champions Trophy may have its fair share of glory and drama, but the white jacket stands out as a symbol of tradition and prestige. It’s more than just an incentive; it’s a reminder of the hard work, passion, and dedication needed to conquer the cricketing world.

As eight teams prepare to battle it out, the stakes are higher than ever. For players, it’s not just about holding the trophy — it’s about wearing the white jacket and etching their names into cricket history.

Who will rise to the occasion this time? We’ll find out soon enough. But one thing’s certain — that white jacket will make its way onto the shoulders of a deserving champion come March 9.

Pakistan’s Champions Trophy Squad To Be Finalized Soon

pakistan-t20-world-cup-squad-what-to-expect-champions-trophy-2025

With the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 just around the corner, Pakistan cricket fans are eagerly waiting for the final squad announcement. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly in the final stages of decision-making, but as of now, they are the only team yet to reveal their lineup. The clock is ticking, with February 11 set as the deadline to submit the official squad.

Tri-Series First, Then the Champions Trophy

Before diving into the high-stakes tournament, the team has a crucial warm-up test. Pakistan will head to a tri-nation series featuring South Africa and New Zealand starting February 8. This series will serve as the perfect tune-up for the team and also determine if the selected squad has what it takes to compete at the Champions Trophy.

One of the biggest questions for selectors is whether Saim Ayub will make the cut. The young star is recovering from an ankle fracture, and his fitness remains a concern. If he gets the green light, he’s expected to play both the tri-series and the Champions Trophy. But if not, the selectors have already identified a backup.

Out with the Old, In with the New?

It seems that some familiar faces might miss out this time. Abdullah Shafique and Usman Khan, struggling with form, are unlikely to make it. On the flip side, Fakhar Zaman has secured his spot with consistent performances.

The selectors are still mulling over Imam-ul-Haq and the promising Haseebullah. Could this tournament be the breakout moment for the young talent? Only time will tell.

The squad will naturally revolve around Pakistan’s core players. Mohammad Rizwan and captain Babar Azam will lead the batting lineup, with dependable names like Salman Agha, Tayyab Tahir, and Irfan Khan supporting them.

On the bowling front, Pakistan’s fiery pace trio—Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf—will be the key. They’ll get additional firepower from Mohammad Hasnain, while mystery-spinner Abrar Ahmed, and young left-arm wrist-spinner Sufiyan Muqeem will add variety to the attack.

It’s not unusual for Pakistan to be the last team to announce its squad for a major ICC event. While preliminary names have been submitted, the final squad must be confirmed in less than a week.

Champions Trophy 2025: India Not To Wear Pakistan’s Name On Jersey

suryakumar-yadav-india-champions-trophy-tour-pakistan-champions-trophy-india-not-to-wear-pakistan-name-on-jersey

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 hasn’t even started, and the sparks are already flying between two of cricket’s biggest rivals: India and Pakistan. This time, the controversy isn’t about a fiery on-field clash but something as symbolic as the jerseys players will wear.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly objected to including Pakistan’s name on their jerseys for the upcoming tournament, and let’s just say this hasn’t gone down well with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

For context, it’s a tradition for all teams in ICC tournaments to display the host nation’s name on their jerseys as part of the tournament logo. It’s simple, really—acknowledge the host country.

Pakistan did it during the 2021 T20 World Cup, which was technically India’s tournament but played in the UAE. Likewise, when Pakistan toured India for the 2016 T20 World Cup and the recent ODI World Cup, their jerseys carried India’s name without a hitch.

The Hybrid Model Drama

To rewind a little, this tournament already had a fair share of drama. Pakistan is hosting its first ICC event in 30 years, but India has decided not to play its games in Pakistan, citing security concerns. As a result, the ICC agreed to a hybrid model.

India will play all their matches in Dubai, while the rest of the tournament will happen in Pakistan. That decision itself ruffled some feathers, but this new jersey issue has added fuel to the fire.

PCB Hits Back

The PCB isn’t holding back. A PCB official (speaking anonymously) accused the BCCI of dragging politics into cricket. “This isn’t good for the game,” the official said.

They also highlighted that India has already refused to send their captain to Pakistan for the opening ceremony and might skip the captain’s meeting altogether. And now, this jersey controversy? “We believe the ICC will step in and ensure this tradition is followed,” the PCB official added.

What’s the Big Deal?

At first glance, this might seem like a small issue. It’s just a name on a jersey, right? But for cricket fans, especially in South Asia, it’s symbolic. It’s about respect, tradition, and sportsmanship. Refusing to display Pakistan’s name as the host could set a troubling precedent.

Fans on both sides are vocal, with opinions flying on social media. Some accuse the BCCI of using cricket as a tool for political posturing. Others believe the BCCI is justified in their stance, given the strained relations between the two countries.

So, where does the ICC stand in all this? Historically, the ICC has maintained a neutral stance, ensuring cricket stays above politics. But with less than a month to go before the tournament kicks off on February 19, it’s crunch time for the governing body to step in and resolve this standoff.
