What happens when the world’s biggest YouTuber publicly invites cricket’s biggest star to collaborate? The internet goes wild. On Wednesday, Jimmy Donaldson — better known as MrBeast — sent a tweet that instantly lit up timelines across the globe. And it wasn’t just any random post. He reached out to none other than Virat Kohli, India’s batting legend.
“Hey! Anyway, I could get you in a video?”
– @MrBeast on X (formerly Twitter)
And just like that, two worlds — cricket and content creation — collided.
A Collab We Never Knew We Needed
MrBeast isn’t your average YouTuber. With over 387 million subscribers, he’s the most-followed individual on YouTube. Known for wild challenges, massive giveaways, and celebrity collabs, Jimmy’s videos regularly pull in tens (sometimes hundreds) of millions of views.
Now imagine that level of madness… featuring Virat Kohli. That’s not just a video — that’s a global event waiting to happen.
Turns out, this isn’t the first time MrBeast has shown love for the Indian superstar. In a chat with a popular Indian YouTuber recently, he said:
“I have been waiting to film with Kohli for a long time. People absolutely adore him, he is a legend.”
Hard to disagree. Kohli’s Instagram following? A jaw-dropping 271 million — the highest for any Indian celebrity. He’s not just a cricketer. He’s an icon.
If this collab happens, it’s more than just entertainment. It’s cricket meeting mainstream global content like never before. MrBeast has already teamed up with names like Cristiano Ronaldo, Tom Brady, and Noah Lyles.
Virat Kohli would be in elite company — and millions of non-cricket fans would get a front-row seat to the sport’s biggest ambassador.
For Indian fans, this could be a proud crossover moment. And for the rest of the world? A chance to discover the charisma and charm of a true cricketing great.
Virat Kohli x MrBeast? Let’s hope this isn’t just a tweet — let’s hope it’s the beginning of something unforgettable.

Scandinavian Shawl Controversy: When did the Dupatta Become European
Just when we think we are so over cultural appropriation, the West proves us wrong. There’s something both amusing and infuriating about the West’s selective amnesia when it comes to culture. One day, it’s mockery and exoticism. Next, it’s rebranded minimalism, “avant-garde” fashion, or, in the most recent example, a Scandinavian shawl. Yes, a European fashion house tried to rebrand the South Asian dupatta as some sort of Nordic ancestral scarf. And no, they didn’t even say “inspired by.”
Welcome to 2025, where your grandmother’s dupatta is now €300, beige, and apparently from Sweden.
The Dupatta: Apparently Now Scandinavian
To understand why this sparked such outrage, you need to understand what the dupatta represents. It’s not just a piece of cloth. It drapes over the shoulders of village women in Sindh, floats behind brides in Mumbai and flows with fierce elegance at Lahore protests. It’s been painted in Mughal miniatures, praised in poetry and passed down through generations. Now, apparently, it’s a “Scandinavian shawl.”
Imagine being gaslit into thinking that our ancestors’ culture was Scandinavian all along.
The Rebranding Machine: A Tale as Old as Colonialism
This isn’t the first time this has happened, and we know that it won’t be the last. From yoga to turmeric lattes, kohl to bindis, the West has an enduring habit of picking up “ethnic” or “third world” elements and then scrubbing them from their cultural roots. What do they do next? Sell them back to us with a shiny new label and a four-figure price tag.
What makes the Scandinavian shawl stunt so BIG? It’s the fact that it is being painted as a new discovery; a “revival” of some ancient European tradition all while completely ignoring the millennia of textile and fashion heritage from South Asia.
We’re talking about a region that was exporting silk, cotton and dyes when most of Europe was still figuring out how not to wear itchy animal hides. Our weaving techniques were so advanced that colonisers literally dismantled local industries to prevent competition. But today, a white model in a beige scarf gets hailed as a visionary?
Bipty, Oh Polly & Reformation’s Repeat Offenses
Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated incident. Western brands have made an entire sport out of cultural theft.
Last May, an employee at Bipty, a fashion community, posted a now-deleted video on TikTok, flitting through Pinterest images of white women in floor-to-mid-length floral dresses and semi-sheer scarves draped across their chests. In some photos, pants completed the look. “The vibe, the aura, what is it?” said the employee. “It’s very European, it’s very classy.” Within hours, confusion, frustration, and laughter from South Asians flooded the comments and “For You” pages. “The vibe is Desi, the aura is South Asian — the shawl, that’s a dupatta, that’s a chunni,” clapped back Meghana, an Indian-American TikToker.
Bipty, Oh Polly & Reformation’s Repeat Offenses
Just earlier this month, fashion brand Reformation released a collection with a three-piece outfit (with a skirt, top, and scarf) that eerily resembled a lehenga. Not to be outdone, Oh Polly released a pink outfit that, as fit folks say, looked like a Sharara. The brand posted a TikTok of its new “Galia convertible gown” (a baby pink bejewelled bodice with matching pleated wide-leg trousers).
When backlash ensued, Oh Polly appeared to acknowledge the misstep by replying to some comments that the brand would “ be more mindful in ensuring that cultural elements are honoured with respect in our designs moving forward”. But fast forward two weeks and the campaign and the TikToks are still going strong.
Oh Polly’s Apology
What’s in a Name?
Now, defenders of the fashion house (and there are always defenders) argue that “shawl” is a generic term, and many cultures have similar garments.
Some have been questioning the criticism these brands are facing. “I’m sorry — we complain when Western fashion isn’t inclusive and then complain when it diversifies? What?” one person on TikTok wrote. Several comments like this and others who think we should “share” instead of gatekeep our culture have been left under TikToks discussing the appropriation of South Asian clothing.
Fair point. But let’s not pretend context doesn’t matter. The issue lies in the fact that there is an existing power imbalance between South Asian and Western cultures. With hundreds of years of colonisation that have continued to impact South Asians and their connection to culture, it is deeply upsetting to have all the things that were deemed less than or uncivilised suddenly be trending fashion pieces now.
When we wear it, it’s too ethnic, too modest, too foreign. When they wear it, it’s elevated, chic and minimalist. It’s the same cloth. But one gets searched at the airport, and the other walks the Paris runway.
Some Users Defending The Act
This Isn’t Inspiration. It’s Erasure.
Let’s get one thing straight: cultural exchange is beautiful. South Asians aren’t gatekeeping a strip of cloth. What we’re tired of is erasure. Of white models in dupattas being called “visionary,” while brown girls in the same outfit are seen as “too ethnic” or “not integrating.”
This is a wake-up call for South Asians, too. We’ve allowed ourselves to laugh off cultural appropriation for too long. We giggle when someone wears jhumkas at Coachella or a lehenga to a “Bollywood-themed bachelorette.” But the more we normalise it, the more our heritage becomes something others can co-opt without credit.
So the next time you see a “Scandinavian shawl” making waves, just smile — and say, “Nice dupatta, babe.”

In a world where athletes are often expected to be superheroes, Nida Dar made a decision, which serves as a brave reminder: they’re human first.
The seasoned Pakistan all-rounder and former captain announced on social media that she’s taking a temporary break from cricket to focus on her mental health. And honestly, it’s a decision that deserves respect.
“I Need Time for Myself”
Nida didn’t sugarcoat it. In her post, she shared how both personal and professional challenges have taken a toll on her.
“After careful consideration, I have decided to take a temporary break from cricket to prioritize my mental health and well-being,” she wrote.
There’s power in those words. It takes guts to say, “I’m not okay” — especially when you’re one of the most recognisable faces in Pakistan women’s cricket.
She also asked for privacy during this time and thanked her loved ones for standing by her. That quiet strength? That’s the real kind of courage.
Before this announcement, Nida had joined the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier camp in Faisalabad. However, she didn’t make the final squad, mainly due to fitness concerns.
She also decided to skip the upcoming National Women’s T20 Cup, choosing instead to step away completely and focus on her mental well-being.
We often talk about injuries and recovery in sports. Sprained ankles, pulled hamstrings — we track every update. But when it comes to mental health? It’s still a taboo, especially in our part of the world.
Nida Dar speaking up breaks that silence. It shows younger players — and even fans — that it’s okay to pause. That self-care isn’t selfish. That taking time to heal is not weakness — it’s wisdom.

The Pakistan government has told all Indian nationals working in the PSL 10 broadcast team to leave the country within 48 hours. This follows the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, which killed 26 tourists. The incident has worsened relations between India and Pakistan.
Over 24 Indian crew members have been affected by this decision. These include engineers, camera operators, production leads and player tracking experts who were handling the live coverage of PSL 2025. Their exit is now causing problems for the ongoing tournament.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the broadcasting company Trans-Asia are now quickly looking for replacements to ensure the matches continue to be broadcast without disruption. PCB tried to convince the government to let the Indian crew stay, saying they had valid sports visas. However, after a National Security Council meeting, the government continued with its decision, pointing to both security and diplomatic reasons.
Meanwhile, India has banned the live streaming of PSL 2025 in response. No new streaming partner has been announced, which means fans in India currently have no official way to watch the tournament.
Tensions between the two countries have continued to increase. India has also suspended the Indus Waters Treaty and closed the Attari border crossing. In return, Pakistan has cancelled all visas issued to Indian citizens.
Some of the Indian crew in Pakistan, including 12 who are UAE residents, are still in the country. They’ve been told to stay indoors and leave as soon as they can. Movement has been restricted due to security concerns.
PSL 10 is being held across four cities in Pakistan. With the sudden removal of trained Indian staff, PCB is now facing big challenges in keeping the broadcast quality intact as the tournament continues.

The Indian government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, admitted to security lapses in the recent Pahalgam terror attack, which resulted in the deaths of 26 people, mostly tourists. During a closed-door all-party meeting, government representatives acknowledged that something had gone wrong, with a ruling party leader mentioning lapses needing to be identified.
The meeting was convened to brief opposition leaders about the attack that occurred in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Opposition parties raised concerns over the failure of security protocols, questioning where the security forces and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were during the attack.
In response, the government claimed that local authorities had not informed security agencies before opening the Baisaran area near Pahalgam, which remains restricted until the Amarnath Yatra in June. Officials explained the area was a 45-minute uphill walk and there was no standard operating procedure (SOP) to handle emergencies quickly.
Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi expressed support for any action taken by the government in response to the attack. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi criticised the security lapses, emphasising that if terrorists could reach Pahalgam, other cities like Srinagar were also at risk. Former army chief General VP Malik described the attack as a failure of intelligence agencies, questioning their absence during peak tourist season.
The meeting was attended by top ministers including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. Key opposition leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Asaduddin Owaisi were also present.
Meanwhile, the Congress Central Working Committee (CWC) accused Pakistan of masterminding the attack and called for a thorough analysis of intelligence and security failures. The CWC also expressed concern about the BJP exploiting the tragedy for political gain.
In a related incident, a senior journalist was assaulted by BJP workers while covering a protest about the attack in IIOJK’s Kathua district. The journalist, Rakesh Sharma, had questioned security lapses during the protest.
One of the victims, Shital Kalathiya, whose husband was killed in the attack, criticised the lack of security and called on politicians and the government to secure the futures of the families of terror victims.

FIA Uncovers Massive Money Laundering by Armughan Qureshi
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has uncovered solid proof of large-scale money laundering involving Armughan Qureshi, who is facing charges in the Mustafa Amir abduction and murder case. FIA submitted an interim charge sheet to the Anti-Terrorism Administrative Court at Karachi Central Jail, detailing his involvement in financial crimes.
FIA reports that Armughan and his partners impersonated officials from various US government departments to defraud American citizens. He ran multiple call centres and launched his own company in 2018 to scale the operation. Through these setups, he reportedly earned between $300,000 to $400,000 per month.
To hide the illegal earnings, Armughan shifted a major chunk into cryptocurrency. He owned eight vehicles worth over Rs154 million. FIA investigators recovered 18 laptops and fake call centre scripts from his operations.
Armughan recruited two foreign agents, Lisa and Sophie, to grow the scam. Together, they created a fake company called “Trademark Comin” that targeted American citizens. According to the FIA, this company generated an estimated $25 million annually.
He hired call centre agents with salaries starting at $75,000 and going up to $450,000. He processed these payments through third-party financial channels. Additionally, Armughan operated a business account under the name Kamran Qureshi at Truist Bank in Maryland, USA, claiming it was for “software services.”
He also used other accounts under the name “CRUZERS,” which connected to at least seven merchant terminals and payment gateways. He disguised fraudulent transactions using misleading payment labels like “US Patent Trademark” and “US Trademarks.”
Cryptocurrency Used to Mask and Move Illegal Funds
Once the funds landed in bank accounts, Armughan converted them to Bitcoin via Coinbase. He then transferred them to crypto wallets on Paxful and Noones. Finally, he converted the money into fiat currency or USDT and routed it to different parties.
FIA disclosed that he spent the laundered money on property purchases, employee salaries, and commissions. He used email IDs such as therealboss1111@protonmail.com and sarwathussain009@outlook.com to register wallets and manage illegal transactions.

Indian Flights Rerouted as Pakistan Shuts Airspace
Following a deadly attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists, Pakistan has closed its airspace to Indian airlines. This decision, effective from 6 PM on April 24, 2025, has led to significant disruptions in Indian aviation operations.Flights from Sharjah to Amritsar were rerouted before entering Pakistani airspace near Turbat.
An Indian airline flight en route to India had to land in Ahmedabad to refuel after passing through the Gulf of Oman.Additionally, a flight from Toronto to India made a refuelling stop in Copenhagen and flights from Paris and London to Delhi were diverted to Abu Dhabi for the same reason.
The closure has imposed logistical challenges and increased operational costs for Indian airlines.Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar stated that the airspace closure would eventually cause millions of dollars in losses to Indian airlines.
This move is part of Pakistan’s response to measures taken by India following the Pahalgam attack, including the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty and the closure of the Wagah border crossing.Pakistan has also suspended all trade with India, including goods passing through Pakistan to or from third countries. The duration of the airspace closure remains unspecified.
The situation has led to a significant escalation in diplomatic tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.India has accused Pakistan of involvement in the Pahalgam attack, while Pakistan has denied the allegations, calling them baseless and lacking credible evidence. Both countries have taken reciprocal measures, including the suspension of visas and the expulsion of diplomatic staff.

After the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of innocent civilians, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken a clear stance—there will be no bilateral cricket with Pakistan. BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla confirmed this while speaking to Sports Tak.
“We are with the victims and we condemn it. Whatever our government will say, we will do. We don’t play with Pakistan in bilateral series because of the government stand. And we will not play with Pakistan in bilaterals going forward. But when it comes to ICC event we play due to ICC engagement. ICC is also aware whatever is happening they will to it,” Shukla said.
He emphasised that this decision aligns with the Indian government’s policy. Despite the presence of both teams in international events, no bilateral matches will be held. India and Pakistan last played a bilateral series in 2012-13 when Pakistan toured India for limited-overs matches. India last visited Pakistan for cricket in 2008.
Since then, the two sides have only played in ICC and ACC events, including the ODI World Cup 2023, where Pakistan visited India. For the 2025 Champions Trophy, India declined to play in Pakistan and all their matches, including one against Pakistan and the final, were held in Dubai.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia also responded to the terror incident, expressing sorrow and offering condolences to the affected families. “The cricketing community is deeply shocked and anguished by the tragic loss of innocent lives in the gruesome terror attack at Pahalgam yesterday. On behalf of the BCCI, while condemning this ghastly and cowardly act with strongest possible words, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayers for the departed souls. In sharing their pain and grief, we stand hand in hand at this hour of tragedy,” he said.
The BCCI’s response confirms that while cricket between the two nations may happen during global tournaments, any bilateral engagement remains off the table due to ongoing political tensions and national policy.

Hania Aamir has always been in the news for her positive vibes fans, goofy videos, and heart-winning performances. She has constructed
Hania Aamir has always been in the news for her positive vibes fans, goofy videos, and heart-winning performances. She has constructed her social media image out of happiness, laughter, and spontaneity. But lately, she surprised her fans with a profound, emotionally charged Instagram post. Now, everyone is wondering the same thing — is Hania alright?
The Emotional Instagram Post That Changed Everything
Just when everyone was waiting for another outburst of Hania’s charm, she shared something entirely different: “Compassion hurts. When you feel connected to everything, you also feel responsible for everything. And you cannot turn away…”
The quote went on to untangle complicated ideas regarding pain, emotional burden, and the weight of empathy. It wasn’t a caption it was a cry disguised as poetry.
The Message Explained
This was not one of those “motivational Thursday”kinds of posts. The language used was one of exhaustion, feeling overwhelmed by the burden of the world. It indicated that Hania isn’t just experiencing things; she’s carrying them with her. And for someone who’s always cracking jokes, this change came hard.
Hania Aamir’s Relationship with Her Fans
She’s always been real. From giving us her skincare secrets to calling out online trolls, she doesn’t hold back on being honest. So it’s no wonder this emotional moment felt personal to so many who’ve laughed with her, and now they’re ready to cry with her
There’s a secret pressure in always having to be the “happy celebrity.” Nobody remembers that influencers are human beings, not robots. Hania’s post dispelled that myth and brought about the awareness of mental health care, particularly to those who are always in the limelight.
Influencer Culture and Emotional Responsibility
Many expect influencers to be emotionally available at all times. But that’s unfair. By being vulnerable, Hania took a bold step, showing that it’s okay to admit you’re not okay. Her emotional post turned into a quiet revolution against the toxic positivity often seen online.
The Importance of Compassion in a Harsh World
Her quote speaks of the burden of care. To feel a part of everything is to feel the pain of everything. That sort of empathy is not weak; it’s strong, raw, and real. Hania’s post reminds us of the emotional cost of empathy.

Inflation Expected to Rise 4% by May_ Finance Ministry
The Ministry of Finance in Pakistan has released its monthly economic outlook, forecasting an increase in inflation before Eid al-Adha and the federal budget. The report estimates inflation to stay between 1.5% and 2.0% in April and possibly rise to 3.0%–4.0% by May 2025.
In March 2025, the monthly inflation was 0.69%. From July 2024 to March 2025, the average inflation stood at 5.25%. Despite the expected rise in inflation, the Ministry highlighted positive trends in the economy.
According to the report, Pakistan’s key economic indicators showed improvement in the first nine months of the fiscal year. Remittances, exports, and imports all increased during this time. The current account showed a surplus, and foreign direct investment (FDI) also grew. The State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) foreign exchange reserves increased from $8.05 billion to $10.572 billion.
From July to March, remittances went up by 33.2% and crossed $28 billion. Exports increased by 7.7% to $24.66 billion, and imports rose by 11%, going over $43 billion. FDI during the same period reached $1.644 billion, up by 14%. The current account posted a surplus of $1.859 billion.
The report also noted growth in government revenue. The Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) tax collection rose by 25.9%, while non-tax revenue jumped by 72.9%.
The World Bank also released a report about Pakistan’s economy. It stated that the economy is stabilising and is expected to grow by 2.7% in the current fiscal year (2024–25), up from 2.5% last year. The report said, “The confidence of global investors in Pakistan’s economy has been restored, with a projected economic growth rate of 2.7 percent for the current fiscal year.”
The World Bank added that growth is expected to reach 3.1% in the next fiscal year and 3.4% in 2027. The interest rate was also lowered due to the drop in inflation, according to the report.

On Thursday, Pakistan’s National Security Committee (NSC) warned India that it will consider blocking Pakistan’s water an act of war. This came after India took several actions following a deadly attack in the Pahalgam area.
The NSC held a high-level meeting where it decided to shut the Wagah border and suspend the Simla Agreement signed in 1972. The Prime Minister’s Office called India’s actions “unilateral, unjust, politically motivated, irresponsible, and without legal merit.” It said India’s response goes against international rules, UN Security Council resolutions, and agreements between both countries.
The committee strongly opposed India’s move to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT). It said the treaty is a binding international agreement, and one side cannot suspend it alone. The official statement said, “Water is a vital national interest of Pakistan, a lifeline for its 240 million people, and its availability will be safeguarded at all costs. Pakistan will respond with full force to any attempt to stop or divert its water.
Other decisions taken in the NSC meeting included closing the Wagah border to all Indian land movement. Indians who entered legally must leave by April 30. Pakistan also shut its airspace to all Indian-owned or operated flights starting immediately. The SAARC visa exemption for Indian citizens was cancelled, and all Indian nationals in Pakistan must leave within 48 hours. Pakistan declared Indian defence advisers persona non grata and reduced the Indian High Commission staff in Islamabad to 30. It also stopped all trade with India, including through third countries.
>The meeting was attended by top leaders, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and senior military officers.
>A day earlier, India had stopped visa services for Pakistani nationals and asked Pakistanis in India to leave once their visas expired. However, Pakistani diplomats in Delhi can stay, though the government has reportedly cut their numbers.
On Wednesday, Pakistan’s foreign office expressed sorrow over the deaths in the Anantnag attack. <strong>“We are concerned at the loss of tourists’ lives in an attack in Anantnag district of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. We extend our condolences to the near ones of the deceased and wish the injured a speedy recovery,” the statement said.

Struggling To Workout in Summers? How to Make Summer Workouts Suck Less
There is no doubt that working out in summer can feel like a punishment. You’re sweating before you even start, and suddenly your favourite outdoor routine feels like an endurance test. But skipping it is not an option either. The good news: With a few tweaks, anyone can keep crushing their summer workouts without feeling like they are melting into the pavement.
1. Time it Right
The “when” of workouts matters just as much as the “what.”
Aim for early mornings or late evenings when the sun isn’t at full blast. Between 5-8 a.m. and after 7 p.m. is ideal. Not only is it cooler, but it’s also much easier to avoid the crowds and enjoy a quieter, more peaceful session.
2. Hydration is Very Important
Dehydration can sneak up fast in the heat. It is advised to start hydrating before workout. Oh, and try sipping water consistently and keep doing it afterwards too. Add electrolytes too if need be. And no, iced coffee doesn’t count (though we wish it did).
3. Dress for the Weather
Ditch the heavy cotton tees and go for light and cool clothing that lets the skin breathe. Think loose fits, lighter colours and tech fabrics designed to keep one cool. Bonus points for wearing a hat or sunglasses to block out that relentless sun.
It’s okay to cheat on outdoor workouts with a nice, air-conditioned gym or a living room fan. Summer is the perfect time to mix things up with indoor classes, YouTube workouts, or even swimming if there is access to a pool. Fitness doesn’t always have to happen outside in the sun.
5. Cool Down Creatively
Get strategic with the post-workout cooldown. Cold showers, icy drinks, or even a quick dip in the pool can bring the core temperature down fast and help you recover quicker. Some people swear by freezing their workout towel beforehand and draping it around their neck after. Try it and thank us later.
It is not compulsory to hit max effort every single day. Opt for shorter, more efficient workouts like HIIT or circuit training to get results without dragging it out. And on days when it is hotter than usual? Scale back. Listening to the body isn’t a weakness; it’s smart training.
Summer Workouts can be Fun too
Summer workouts don’t have to suck. With a little planning, smart gear, and a few hacks, you can keep moving without feeling like a sweaty mess. Stay cool, stay consistent, and you’ll roll into fall feeling stronger than ever.

Pakistan Refuses to Become a Scapegoat in Indian Politics: Here's What the Nation is Saying
Following a devastating attack on foreign tourists in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, India-Pakistan tensions have erupted once again. Not only has the Indian government accused Pakistan of blame without concrete evidence, but it has also suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, a decision that imperils regional peace and goes against international norms. Pakistan Refuses to Become a Scapegoat in Indian Politics.
This article dissects the emerging issue through the lens of business leaders, security experts, and political commentators in Pakistan, with a strong condemnation issued by Muhammad Azfar Ahsan, CEO of Nutshell Group, at the forefront of this conversation.
The Pahalgam Attack and the Kashmir Incident: A Timeline
Anonymous attackers struck Indian tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22, 2025. Following the attack, India did, what it does best: blamed Pakistan straightaway without investigating anything.
Indian politicians and media echoed nationalist feelings and demanded revenge. India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty afterwards as well as shut down the Atari-Wagah Border, actions that caused international concern.
Political analysts have characterised the suspension of the treaty as an internal political tactic and not a real security response, especially because the treaty has lasted 3 wars, and now India chooses to suspend it so easily.
Azfar Ahsan Speaks Out: Exposing Propaganda
Azfar Ahsan labelled India’s response a “staged drama.” He highlighted India’s habitual trend of accusing Pakistan without proof. Ahsan pointed out the remarkable similarities in the weapons used in the Balochistan and Kashmir attacks. He also questioned coordination and timing, calling upon the United Nations Security Council to carry out an impartial investigation and safeguard regional stability.
Masking Internal Crises with Anti-Pakistan Rhetoric
The fall of Sheikh Hasina’s administration in Bangladesh isolated India further. Experts think that India is now trying to deflect international attention by provoking Pakistan.
India faces internal unrest in Nagaland and Manipur, alongside rising tensions with neighboyring Nepal and Bhutan. Critics argue that the Modi government leverages nationalism as a tool to divert attention from these domestic challenges. At the same time, concerns grow over diminishing press freedom and democratic norms. Observers note a pattern of suppressing dissent at home while promoting a more aggressive stance abroad.
Pakistan’s Business and Strategic Experts Speak Up
Industrial psychologist Syed Hussain condemned India’s dependence on social media drama. He stated, “No international statesman reads LinkedIn comments,” calling for genuine diplomacy.
CEO Haider Jawaid denounced the UN’s bias and compared India’s propaganda strategy to Israel’s behaviour in Palestine. His remarks indicate increasing distrust of global institutions.
Procurement expert Shoaib Khan described how this narrative serves both governments to divert citizens from domestic issues.
CEO Syed Umairuddin Hussain backed Azfar Ahsan and advocated for a more effective global narrative by Pakistan.
Fazal Abbas, a military veteran, appealed to the international community to intervene, saying that propaganda cannot be used as a substitute for peaceful dialogue.
Demand Truth, Not Tactics
India’s blame game and treaty suspension imperil regional peace. Azfar Ahsan and other experts demand accountability and facts. The international community needs to reject propaganda and uphold international norms.

The Pakistan Government’s X Account (formerly Twitter), @GovtofPakistan, has been blocked in India after a legal request. When people in India try to open the account, they see a message saying: “Account Withheld — @GovtofPakistan’s account has been withheld in India in response to a legal demand.”
This action was taken while diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan continue to rise. However, the account is still working and can be seen by users in other countries.
This is not the first time India has taken such action. In July and October of 2022, India had also blocked this official account inside the country. Like the current situation, those actions were also said to be based on legal demands. No detailed information about the legal basis has been shared by the Indian government or by X.
Conflicts Beyond Borders
The Pakistan Government’s X Account being withheld again highlights how both countries are now dealing with each other on digital grounds too. This shows a growing trend where political conflicts are extending beyond borders into social media platforms.
People have noticed that the use of “legal demand” to block accounts has become common, but it is still unclear what specific laws or cases are being used to support this latest move. There has been no official statement from either the Indian government or X to explain the reasons.
The restriction shows how the digital world is becoming a new battleground in South Asia, where governments are using tools like X not just to talk to their people, but also to show strength in global politics.

Everything New in ‘The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered’ as it Launches on PC, PS5 and Xbox
Almost two decades since its initial release, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered has come back. Bethesda’s surprise release of Oblivion Remastered has set off a tidal wave of nostalgia and anticipation, as old and new players alike return to the imperial province of Cyrodiil, now enveloped in a breathtaking Unreal Engine 5 makeover.
Source: Gamestsu
Out now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S—with day-one release for Game Pass subscribers—the remaster delivers on everything fans could’ve wished for. In contrast to a remake, Bethesda and co-developer Virtuos remained faithful to the original 2006 experience, instead deciding to hone rather than reimagine. The outcome is a version of Oblivion that looks just as you remember it—this time, however, your visuals are as good as the memory.
Visual Upgrades with Unreal Power
Visually, the makeover is stunning. These forests are full and bright, glowing doors to the Daedric planes, and intricate character models now feature advanced lighting, atmospheric effects, and polished animations. Interiors and dungeons now have a gravity of their own with dynamic shadows, and the towns are more vibrant, with new textures and more emotive NPCs.
Gameplay that Respects the Past, Embraces the Present
Gameplay has benefited from careful improvements as well. The inclusion of a sprint mechanic, redone third-person controls, and completely reworked combat animations ensures the game no longer feels dated. UI is cleaner, the levelling system is refined, and character customisation has been redesigned without diluting the original RPG’s charm.
The remaster also includes Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine, and all the DLC previously released. The new $59.99 Deluxe Edition comes with additional side quests, a digital artbook, and the remastered soundtrack—a fair price for loyal fans.

Voices that Bring Tamriel to Life
Perhaps most impressively, Bethesda has replaced the voice acting with more varied performances, assigning a unique vocal character to each playable race and retaining much of the original cast. It’s a small change that makes all the difference in immersion.
Whether you’re reliving old adventures or stepping into Tamriel for the first time, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered proves that a well-loved classic can thrive in the modern gaming era without losing its soul. It’s not just a return to a game—it’s a return to wonder.

Pakistan’s Olympic javelin champion Arshad Nadeem has formally declined an invitation to compete in the Neeraj Chopra Classic, a big-ticket one-day athletics meet that will be held in Bengaluru on May 24. Though the reason for the rejection was cited largely on grounds of clash of schedules, it also comes in the context of heightened political tensions between India and Pakistan following a recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
Source: Omamaru
Scheduling Conflicts and Prior Commitments
Arshad clarified that his withdrawal was due to his existing training commitments and his upcoming participation in the Asian Athletics Championships in Korea. “The Classic event is on May 24, but I’m scheduled to depart for Korea on May 22,” Nadeem explained, emphasising that the clash was unavoidable. He is currently busy getting ready for the World Athletics Championship in Tokyo in September and is set to go back to his training headquarters in Pakistan shortly.
While Nadeem insisted his move was sporting in nature, the affair is clouded by political undertones. The Pahalgam terror strike has set the diplomatic tensions between the two countries abuzz, and sources indicate that this might have played on Nadeem’s mind. His involvement would have needed approval from the Pakistan government, and there were fears the heightened tensions would delay or invalidate his travel permits—or even worse, have his invite withdrawn by Indian authorities.
Neeraj Chopra and Arshad Nadeem are rare sporting buddies that have braved geopolitical hostilities. Budapest to Paris, they have given away medals and reciprocated each other with respect. During the previous World Athletics Championship, Neeraj secured gold, whereas Arshad secured silver. In the history-altering reverse at the Paris Olympics, Arshad bagged gold in an Olympic record, and then Neeraj bagged silver. Their competition has always been grace and mutual respect-filled—thus making this lack all the more poignant.

Looking Ahead
While Arshad Nadeem’s non-appearance will be missed at the Neeraj Chopra Classic, supporters across borders can only hope this is a one-off decision. With the world watching the World Championships and looking ahead to athletics, there is hope that sporting spirit will conquer political shadows—and that Arshad and Neeraj will reunite again on the track, where they belong.

India Suspends Indus Water Treaty? What Does This Mean For Pakistan
India and Pakistan were never on good terms. Tensions were always present, yet for the past six decades, both nations have cooperatively managed the Indus Water Treaty (a vital resource for both nations). But now, post-Kashmir attack on April 22, India has done the unthinkable.
Signed in 1960, the treaty not only divided the waters of the Indus basin between the two countries but, more remarkably, outlasted multiple wars, terror attacks, and nuclear brinkmanship. It was a miracle of diplomacy.
That miracle may now be over.
In the wake of a horrifying terrorist attack in Kashmir that killed 26 people (25 of them Indian tourists), India has suspended its participation in the treaty. The reason given is: a response to terrorism, a symbolic break from decades of restraint. But the implications go well beyond symbolism. The consequences could be devastating—for Pakistan, for India, and for the entire region.

India-Pakistan Tension
Water Should Never be a Weapon
Water is not just a resource, it is the foundation of life! It irrigates crops, fuels power grids, and sustains entire ecosystems. In Pakistan, where the Indus River system feeds nearly all of the country’s agriculture, the treaty’s suspension has sparked understandable alarm. But this is not just about Pakistan.
India also relies on the balance that the treaty has maintained. Disrupting that equilibrium risks cascading consequences: diplomatic fallout, economic uncertainty, environmental instability. It also introduces a dangerous precedent into global geopolitics. One where water becomes just another tool in the arsenal of retaliation.
The decision to suspend the treaty doesn’t just harm the other side; it threatens the stability and credibility of the entire region. It says that even sacred agreements can be cast aside in moments of rage or grief.
It is tempting in times of tragedy to look for villains. But diplomacy demands more than blame. It demands perspective.
Yes, the attack in Kashmir was horrific. The loss of innocent life is always a tragedy, and outrage is justified. But Pakistan is not a monolith. We are a nation of over 240 million people, the vast majority of whom want peace and prosperity, just like their neighbours. Pointing fingers at an entire country, or allowing tragedy to justify sweeping retaliation, leads us down a road of perpetual hostility.
Beyond Blame: A Shared Responsibility
This region, which is so rich in culture, history, and human potential, deserves better than endless cycles of accusation and reprisal. The suspension of the treaty is not just a political manoeuvre; it’s a retreat from the principles of coexistence that the treaty itself embodied.
What’s at Stake isn’t Just Water
The Indus Waters Treaty was about more than river allocations; it was about trust- about believing that even in the darkest moments, dialogue and cooperation could prevail.
If that trust breaks down, what comes next? Will other treaties and agreements fall under a similar threat? If water, the most essential and non-negotiable of shared resources, becomes politicised, what hope is there for more complex issues like trade, migration, or climate change?
We cannot afford to normalise this kind of brinkmanship, not when the costs are measured not in political capital, but in crops lost, homes flooded, and futures dimmed.
A Call for Peace and Unity
India is a regional leader. With that role comes the responsibility to lead with foresight, not just force. The suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty may satisfy immediate political impulses, but it undermines the very architecture of peace that has taken generations to build. Now, more than ever, both India and Pakistan must find the courage to turn back to the table—not walk away from it.
Water must flow freely, not just through rivers, but through channels of communication and understanding. If there’s ever been a moment for diplomacy to prove its worth, it’s now.

As the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 reaches its peak, Match 14, Lahore Qalandars vs Peshawar Zalmi, will be a showdown between two franchises with contrasting vibes: the fighting Lahore Qalandars and desperate Peshawar Zalmi. Under the lights at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, this encounter holds the promise of high-intensity cricket and a bit of solo fireworks.
Qalandars: Coming Back with Firepower
Now ranked third on the points table with 2 victories in 4, the Qalandars are reeling from their recent defeat against Multan Sultans, in which they came up short chasing 229 despite courageous performances by Fakhar Zaman and Sikandar Raza. Fakhar is Lahore’s most reliable batter with 176 runs thus far, including blistering starts that set solid platforms. With Rishad Hossain leading the bowling charts for them with 8 wickets, Lahore look balanced despite a few stutters.
Source: Outlook
This match becomes even more crucial for captain Shaheen Afridi’s side to reassert dominance and cement a top-three position. Given their net run rate of 1.095 and the strong home crowd support, Qalandars are tipped as slight favourites.
Zalmi: Talent Present, Execution Missing
At the other end are Peshawar Zalmi, who are in troubled waters. They have only one win in four and are placed fifth, and they require a revival. Captain Babar Azam’s anchor style (46 off 41 in the previous match) has come under fire, particularly when quicker scoring is required. In contrast, Mohammad Haris has been their bright spot with 173 runs at an explosive strike rate of 178.35.
Bowling remains a concern, though Ali Raza has impressed with 7 wickets. But as seen in their loss to Karachi Kings, the inability to defend or chase middling totals is haunting them. Their negative net run rate of -0.844 only adds to the pressure.

Key Players to Watch
Fakhar Zaman (LQ): The man in form, expected to go big again.
Hussain Talat (PZ): Could be Zalmi’s X-factor in the middle overs.
Asif Afridi (LQ): Could flip the game with his left-arm spin.
Luke Wood (PZ): Requires early wickets to cut Lahore’s charge.
Prediction: Lahore Qalandars are favoured with improved form and momentum. But if the top order of Zalmi fires, this match could be decided in the last over.
Likely Outcome: Lahore Qalandars to win — but with a twist.

Is a Wave of Food Insecurity About to Hit Pakistan?
Experts state that Pakistan is about to face significant challenges that will cause food insecurity in 2025. Although the country produces a substantial amount of food, consistently meeting the needs of its growing population—over 240 million—has become increasingly difficult. Some indicators point to even greater risks in the future.
Is a Wave of Food Insecurity About to Hit Pakistan?
Existing Vulnerabilities
Recent analysis indicates ongoing issues. The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) offers a snapshot of late 2024 to mid-2025. It forecast severe issues even before recent happenings. Approximately 10 million individuals in poor rural regions probably experienced extreme acute food insecurity (IPC Phase 3 Crisis or worse) from April to July 2025. This represents roughly 20% of the population under study within those districts. Such conditions make individuals unable to obtain sufficient food. This difficulty results in malnutrition or drives households into desperate survival strategies.
Economic Pressures and Inflation
Economic uncertainty and inflation are the main issues. Overall food inflation fell from its 2023-24 highs. Still, most staple foods remain significantly more expensive than they were. Prices of farm inputs such as fuel and fertiliser, and transport costs, tighten farmers’ pockets. These prices also increase consumer prices. This particularly affects poor households. Reports indicate that almost 40% of Pakistanis are living in poverty, leaving them extremely exposed to increased food prices.
Climate change introduces immense risk. Pakistan is among the world’s most climate-risk countries. The devastating 2022 floods were an open warning. Increased heat waves, droughts, and unstable monsoons disturb farming on a regular basis. Specialists say climate change might reduce farm production by 30-50% without huge adaptation. This directly impacts food supply and prices. Water shortage also jeopardises agriculture. Climate change and possible Indus water problems exacerbate this shortage. Agriculture in Pakistan depends greatly on the Indus basin for irrigation.
Outlook and Opinion
Pakistan has demonstrated resilience in the past. However, the present combination of factors is concerning. Climate risk, economic issues (notably dependence on costly food imports), population expansion, and probable water scarcity produce a perilous combination. Unless vigorous action is taken to address climate-smart agriculture, improved water management, food price stability, and social protection, aggravated food insecurity is likely for the majority of Pakistanis.
