Another Voice Silenced: The Cost of Womanhood in Pakistan

another-hashtag-another-silenced-voice-the-cost-of-womanhood-in-pakistan

Another headline of femicide in Pakistan. Another daughter who will never come home.

In Pakistan, womanhood is often shadowed by silence and too often sealed in a shroud. For the women and girls of this country, the cost of living is too often their lives. They just never know when and where they, too, will become a victim of power and aggression.

The Imperfect Victim of Honour Killing: Qandeel Baloch

We remember the name Qandeel Baloch. The first social media star of Pakistan who made “lives too difficult” and was suffocated to death.

Qandeel was a young woman who dared to live life on her own terms. Whether her choices aligned with religious norms is another question, but they harmed no one.

However, one fine day, her fate was decided by her brother, who strangled her in her sleep. Why? Because he claimed “honour” and with pride he smiled in court.

He was later released, and since then, no one has been convicted of Qandeel’s murder.

Zainab Ansari’s Blood on Nation’s Hands

We’ve cried for Zainab. Only seven years old; too young to spell “justice’ and too innocent to know the ugliness that stalked her steps.

She was abducted, raped and dumped like garbage in a heap in Kasur. For days, the police slept. For weeks, the country wept. It’s soil soaked up yet another story of femicide.

Her angelic green eyes were everywhere. Her name trended for “hashtag justice”. Politicians promised for their votes. Then silence fell again — until the next victim (Zainab was already the 7th victim of the same criminal).

The Motorway Rape Victim That Was “Out Too Late”

We shook with rage during the Motorway Incident.

A mother, travelling with her children, was stranded on the Lahore-Sialkot motorway in 2020. She was gang-raped in front of those very children. But it was ‘her fault,’ said the city’s police chief and then-Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Why? Because “Why was she out late at night? Why didn’t she call a man?”

It was not the predator’s fault that he thought of this heinous act, nor was it the state’s fault that it left a stretch of highway unpatrolled and women unprotected.

The story went viral. There were protests. And yet here we are, years later, with nothing changed but the names of the victims.

Justice Delayed for Womanhood in Noor Mukadam’s Case

Then came Noor Mukadam. A case so grotesque it shook even the most apathetic among us.

Locked, tortured, beheaded, all done in the heart of Islamabad. The killer, Zahir Jaffer, was a wealthy, educated and connected nepo baby. It helped him hide the fact that he was, in fact, a lunatic who survived media consumption from the Dark Web.

Even with all the evidence, the case took 4 years to finally reach justice, that too while plaguing Noor’s character with derogatory comments.

Since Noor, many more Noors have fallen. Women stabbed in marketplaces, burned alive by lovers, shot by fathers, raped by brothers, buried in fields.

Murder of Sana Yousaf Exposes the Rot in Our Society

And now, just a few days after Noor Mukadam’s 4-year delayed justice, another life has been lost. Another child who had her whole future ahead of her. The cold-blooded murder of Sana Yousaf.

Sana Yousuf was a 17-year-old Chitrali medical student who was shot in her own house in Islamabad on Monday evening, 2nd June. Why? Because she dared say “no” to her killer’s advances on her. And of course, his fragile ego couldn’t handle it.

When the news went viral on the internet, people went crazy. The woman couldn’t sleep at night yet again.

How Many More Hashtags? How Many More Souls?

We treat these deaths like accidents: rare, unfortunate and isolated. But they are not. They are a systemic by-product of a country that devalues women at every level. A country that earns millions by romanticising the torture of women on screens.

What connects Zainab, the motorway survivor and Sana? Different ages, different regions, different stories — but the same sick culture. The same failure to protect. The same refusal to change.

“In the Dua Zehra, Noor Mukadam, and motorway rape cases, the media, particularly digital media outlets, weaponised false and private information to blame the victims for the crimes committed against them and assassinate their characters. Gendered disinformation, in this light, has been around for a while, as a tool of voice for patriarchal attitudes and narratives,” says Shmyla Khan of Digital Rights Foundation (DRF)

What we call “family matters” are femicides wrapped in shame and silence. And what is more enraging than knowing that nothing happens after? No reforms. No protection. Just another hashtag.

Let the murder of Sana Yousaf enrage you. Let it be your final straw. Because the cost of womanhood in Pakistan should never be a grave. The femicide in Pakistan must end!

Inside Story: How Salman Ali Agha Landed T20I Captaincy Role?

inside-story-how-salman-ali-agha-landed-t20i-captaincy-role-play-against-big-teams-tanvir-ahmed-slams-salman-ali-agha

When Pakistan cricket makes a move, it rarely goes unnoticed — especially when it’s a surprise like this. In a decision that caught fans, players, and even some insiders off guard, Salman Ali Agha was named the T20I captain of Pakistan in April, just ahead of the New Zealand tour.

The appointment raised plenty of eyebrows, not because Salman isn’t capable, but because he wasn’t even in the race publicly. Until suddenly, he was.

So, how did this happen? And why wasn’t the heavily-tipped Shadab Khan, or even the then-skipper Mohammad Rizwan, retained for the role?

Let’s unpack the story behind this unexpected leadership twist.

Rizwan Out, Agha In — The Big Shuffle

First, a quick rewind. In late 2024, Mohammad Rizwan had been handed white-ball captaincy duties after Babar Azam stepped down. However, as 2025 rolled in, things began to shift — and fast.

Just ahead of the New Zealand tour, Rizwan was removed as T20I captain, though he stayed on as ODI skipper. At this point, most assumed Shadab Khan, a former vice-captain and seasoned T20 performer, would take over.

But the PCB had other plans.

Rizwan Draws the Line at PSL 10 Presser: ‘I’ll Answer for What I Control’

The Wahab Riaz Factor: Power Behind the Curtain?

According to sources, the appointment of Salman Ali Agha wasn’t just a cricketing decision — it was a political chess move within the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

At the centre of this plot twist? Wahab Riaz — former fast bowler, current PCB official, and reportedly a close confidant of PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

While most voices inside the selection room were in favor of Shadab Khan, it was Wahab who firmly pushed for Salman’s name, and eventually convinced others to follow suit.

A Meeting of Minds… And a Change of Heart

Before the squad for New Zealand was finalized, a crucial meeting took place. Those present included:

  • Mike Hesson, who wasn’t yet officially appointed but was already influencing decisions
  • Interim head coach Aqib Javed
  • Selectors Aleem Dar and Hasan Cheema

Mentors from the Champions Cup program were also consulted, though Shoaib Malik and Waqar Younis couldn’t attend. Those who did — Misbah-ul-Haq, Saqlain Mushtaq, and Sarfaraz Ahmed — all advised that the captaincy should go to Shadab.

pcb-to-remove-wahab-riaz-from-selection-committee

But then came the twist.

Chairman Naqvi reportedly directed the selectors and mentors to meet with Wahab Riaz for an hour and justify why Shadab, who had been struggling to make the XI recently, should lead the side. What followed was a change of tone.

A “Consensus” is Reached

After the meeting with Wahab, a message was relayed to Naqvi: there was now consensus on Agha Salman’s appointment. And just like that, the decision was made official.

Salman Ali Agha was named T20I captain, with Shadab Khan appointed his vice-captain — a decision that still has many fans and pundits scratching their heads.

Salman’s appointment might look surprising on paper, but perhaps the PCB is trying to groom a calm, composed leader ahead of major tournaments. Or maybe this is more about internal politics than long-term vision.

Either way, it marks a significant shift in how leadership decisions are being handled in Pakistan cricket.

What Brought Trump’s Crypto Chief Together with Pakistan’s Bilal Bin Saqib?

why-did-trumps-crypto-chief-meet-pakistans-bilal-bin-saqib

Bilal Bin Saqib, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency, met Robert ‘Bo’ Hines, cryptocurrency advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump. The meeting took place during the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas.

During the discussion, Saqib shared Pakistan’s push to advance Bitcoin and expand digital assets. He outlined Pakistan’s commitment to building AI hubs and Bitcoin mining infrastructure.

He also stated that Pakistan wants to become the first Asian country with a government-backed Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. He credited U.S. cryptocurrency policies as the main inspiration behind this step.

Later, during his keynote at the Bitcoin 2025 conference, Saqib officially announced the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. He said the reserve would support Pakistan’s economy as a long-term national asset.

Importantly, he made it clear that it isn’t meant for speculation or fast profits.

“The Bitcoin reserves, to be held in a national Bitcoin wallet, are meant as a long-term sovereign asset not for speculation or sale,” said Saqib.

“Pakistan’s government will never use these reserves to profit on Bitcoin’s price swings, thereby guaranteeing their stability as a national asset,” he added. These remarks underscore Pakistan’s strategy for financial stability.

In addition, Saqib mentioned that Pakistan is developing a regulatory system aligned with Financial Action Task Force (FATF) standards. With this move, he believes Pakistan can become a global leader in blockchain and digital finance.

Furthermore, Saqib thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for helping reduce tensions between India and Pakistan. He also praised Trump’s support in promoting global cryptocurrency adoption. According to Saqib, U.S. leadership played a key role in shaping Pakistan’s digital policy.

His speech clearly reflected Pakistan’s direction in digital assets and its global partnerships.

Previously, Saqib—who also serves as CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC)—had suggested the Bitcoin reserve plan. Now officially launched, the reserve stands as Pakistan’s first state-led cryptocurrency asset programme.

This shows a shift in economic direction toward blockchain adoption.

Additionally, the government has allocated 2000 megawatts of electricity for Bitcoin mining operations. This move aims to establish a solid crypto mining ecosystem in the country. Overall, it aligns with Pakistan’s broader plan for tech-driven infrastructure growth.

ISI and RAW Together Can Cause a Significant Decrease in Terrorism: Bilawal Bhutto

if-isi-and-raw-sit-together-there-would-be-a-significant-decrease-in-terrorism-bilawal

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said if Pakistan’s ISI and India’s RAW worked together, terrorism would reduce in both countries.

The PPP chairman made these remarks during a media briefing at the UN Headquarters in New York. He said more terror attacks happen in Pakistan than India and suggested that cooperation would be more effective than finger-pointing.

He added, “Pakistan has been a very responsible partner in the fight against terrorism. We have suffered in this fight and grown through our combat experience with terrorists. We have learned our lessons; now it is time for the world to learn theirs.”

Bilawal condemned India’s May 7 strikes in Pakistan, calling them violations of international law and the UN Charter.

He said the attacks hit civilian areas, dams and religious sites, causing deaths, including women and children.

Despite this, he said Pakistan still wanted to work with India against terrorism. “We can’t leave the fate of 1.5 or 1.7 billion people in the hands of non-state actors and terrorists,” he said.

“Pakistan is willing to put all cards on the table. Let’s talk about terrorism, let’s talk about Kashmir, let’s talk about water, let’s make peace,” he added.

He criticised India for rejecting PM Shehbaz Sharif’s offer for an impartial investigation after the Pahalgam attack and instead launching strikes. Pakistan responded by downing six Indian planes.

Bilawal warned, “If there’s a terrorist attack in India, it means war with Pakistan. And reciprocity would mean war with India for attacks in Pakistan. That is untenable.”

He said India used Israeli drones in its strikes and accused India of copying Israel’s settler tactics in Kashmir.

“Modi is sort of the Temu version of Netanyahu. It’s a little poor copy,” he added.

Bilawal accused India of using terrorism claims to demonise Muslims and avoid dialogue. He criticised India’s disinformation, saying, “This man is not a terrorist… Pakistan happens to have a name similar to one of the sanctioned people but he is not a terrorist.”

He said Pakistan is open to cooperation and dialogue and hopes India will stop using terrorism as a cover to avoid accountability.

Tears, Triumph, and 18 Years of Belief: Virat Kohli’s RCB Lift the IPL Trophy

virat-kohli-rcb-lift-the-ipl-trophy

The wait is over. The heartbreak, the memes, the near-misses — all of it was washed away in a flood of emotion as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finally won their first-ever IPL title, defeating Punjab Kings in a gripping final by just six runs.

And right at the heart of it, as always, was Virat Kohli — not just a player, but a symbol of undying belief in a franchise that had flirted with glory but never quite seized it. Until now.

Virat Kohli & The Moment That Broke the Internet

When the final ball of IPL 2025 was sent sailing over the boundary for a meaningless six, it didn’t matter. The match was won. The drought was over.

Virat Kohli sank to the ground, face in hands, tears streaming down. It wasn’t just about winning. It was about years of carrying the weight, of giving everything to a team that had never crossed the final hurdle — until now.

“I’ve given this team my youth, prime and experience,” he said post-match, visibly emotional. “To finally have it is an unbelievable feeling.”

For the fans, it was more than just a win. It was vindication. For the critics, it was proof. For Kohli, it was redemption.

The Final: A Story of Grit, and Nerves

Batting first, RCB posted 190/9, and while Virat Kohli top-scored with a 35-ball 43, some questioned the pace of his innings. But hindsight, as they say, is everything — and his knock proved critical.

The lower order chipped in with some late-innings fireworks, giving Bengaluru a fighting chance. And they needed every single run.

Punjab Kings started their chase with intent. The crowd grew tense. But then came Krunal Pandya, delivering a masterclass in pressure bowling. His figures? 2 for 17 — pure gold in a final.

The chase stuttered. RCB kept clawing back. With 29 needed off the last four balls, the writing was on the wall.

virat-kohli-rcb-lift-the-ipl-trophy

Kohli’s Legacy Cemented in Gold

For someone who’s carried RCB through highs and heartbreaks, this was more than just a trophy. It was a reward for loyalty and passion — the kind not often seen in franchise cricket.

This win also erased the painful memories of three previous IPL finals that ended in tears. This time, the tears flowed again — but they were tears of joy.

And you could feel the release — not just from Kohli, but from every RCB supporter who had waited 18 long years to say it out loud: “We are IPL champions.”

9 Faces, One Faysal Quraishi: Lets Talk Behroopia

In an era where Pakistani dramas often tread familiar paths, Behroopia emerges as a groundbreaking narrative that delves into the complexities of the human psyche.

Premiering on Green Entertainment since April 24, 2025, this psychological thriller, penned by Rida Bilal and directed by Shaqielle Khan, challenges societal norms by spotlighting mental health, particularly Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).

Plot Overview

At the heart of Behroopia lies Mekail Ahmed, portrayed by the versatile Faysal Quraishi. Mekail’s seemingly composed exterior masks a turbulent inner world, a result of harrowing childhood trauma.

His mind, fragmented into nine distinct personalities, serves as a defence mechanism against his painful past.

As the narrative unfolds, viewers are introduced to Zara, played by Madiha Imam, whose journey intertwines with Mekail’s, leading to revelations that test the boundaries of love, which later turn into emotional and physical abuse.

A Performance at its Finest

Quraishi’s portrayal of Mekail is nothing short of a masterclass in acting. Embodying nine distinct personas, he seamlessly transitions between characters, each with unique mannerisms, speech patterns and emotional depths.

Faysal’s versatility comes as no surprise. His recent performance in the film Deemak has only proved it further.

However, it wasn’t just Faysal, but Madiha Imam too, who delivered a compelling performance as Zara, navigating the challenges of loving someone with a fragmented identity.

The ensemble cast, including Laila Wasti, Srha Asghar and Nabeel Zuberi, adds depth to the narrative. Each character has successfully contributed to the intricate tapestry of the story and made it the brilliant drama it is.

Landmark Towards Mental Health Awareness

Behroopia stands out not just for its storytelling but for its commitment to shedding light on mental health issues, a topic often stigmatised in South Asian societies.

The Nine Avatars of Mekail Ahmed

While the drama has not officially named each of Mekayel’s nine personalities, teasers and promotional materials hint at a diverse range of personas, each reflecting different facets of his psyche. These include:

  1. The Aggressor: A volatile and confrontational persona, possibly embodying Mekayel’s suppressed anger and trauma responses.
  2. The Innocent: A childlike identity, representing the part of Mekayel that remains trapped in his traumatic past.
  3. The Caregiver: A nurturing figure, perhaps a maternal archetype, offering solace amidst internal chaos.
  4. The Charmer: A suave and confident personality, utilising charm as a defence mechanism.
  5. The Strategist: Calculated and composed, this persona handles complex situations with precision.
  6. The Performer: Flamboyant and attention-seeking, possibly a manifestation of Mekail’s desire for validation.
  7. The Shadow: A mysterious and possibly darker identity, representing the repressed aspects of his psyche.
  8. The Protector: Defensive and vigilant, this persona emerges in threatening situations to safeguard Mekail.
  9. The Core: The original self, around whom all other personalities revolve, is often unaware of the others.

Final Thoughts

Behroopia is a testament to the evolving landscape of Pakistani television, where narratives are no longer confined to traditional tropes. Although this revolution is happeing oen narrative a time, the good thing is, it is happening.

This drama is a daring exploration of the human mind. It’s something the Pakistani drama industry needed.

Note: For those interested in exploring the themes of mental health further, consider watching the following Pakistani dramas that tackle similar issues:

  • Zakham: Explores the impact of childhood trauma on adult relationships.
  • Udaari: Highlights the societal challenges faced by survivors of abuse and assaults.
  • Baaghi: Chronicles the life of a woman battling societal norms and personal demons.
  • Tann Mann Neelo Neel: Showcases the distorted reality of our country and the implications of blasphemy laws and mob lynching.

Sana Yousuf’s Final Words Before Murder Revealed

why-did-umar-hayat-kill-social-media-infulencer-sana-yousuf

The final phone call between Sana Yousuf and her murderer has surfaced.

The 17-year-old content creator was murdered outside her Islamabad home. Police findings have shown that the 22-year-old Umar Hayat, also known as Kaka, the attacker, had been attempting to befriend her.

Sana turned him down several times, infuriating him. Just before he shot her, witnesses claim she told him, “You are getting angry, leave this place. There are CCTV cameras, go away.” Following her statement, two gunshots were heard.

Two bullets struck Sana, who died right away. In panic, Umar vanished from the area.

Sana’s body was received by PIMS Hospital for postmortem examination, and her family received her body following the legal procedure.

Umar Hayat was caught by Islamabad Police shortly after. Before shooting her, they said he had violently invaded Sana’s house.

Writing on X, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the police, saying, “Well done Islamabad Police. Sana Yousuf murder case traced, suspect detained, weapon retrieved within 20 hours.”

Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi expanded on more specifics in a press conference. Umar wanted to be friendly with Sana, but she kept rejecting him. That made him kill her.

Said IGP Rizvi, “This case has sent shockwaves across the nation and Islamabad. Seven research teams were created. To find the killer, they interviewed thirty-seven individuals. Police raided Faisalabad and Islamabad among other cities 11 times”.

Police found the murder weapon and Sana’s iPhone with him during the arrest. According to IG Rizvi, Umar had only passed matric and attempted several times to call Sana.

Police are still investigating the matter. Fast evidence collection and arrest solved the case rapidly. Sana Yousuf’s murder has set off public outrage and anxiety about increasing violence against women, particularly those active on social media.

Ali Zafar’s Bold Message on Islamophobia is Shaking Social Media

In a world where hate often trends faster than hope, it’s refreshing and powerful when a celebrity chooses to use their platform for truth. Recently, Pakistani singer and actor Ali Zafar took a public stand against rising Islamophobia, calling out ignorance and setting the record straight about the real essence of Islam.
His bold, articulate comments on social media have ignited a global conversation, and rightly so.

What Sparked the Statement?

It all started when Charlie Kirk, an American political commentator, made a dismissive and divisive comment suggesting a civilisational clash between Islam and the West.

Ali Zafar, who spotted the ignorance in Kirk’s rhetoric, responded publicly and directly through a now-viral post on the platform X (formerly Twitter).

The Clash of Narratives

Ali Zafar didn’t mince words. He said:

“The clash was never Islam versus the West. It is ignorance versus truth.”

And just like that, he flipped the narrative.

This wasn’t a war of civilisations it was a war between misinformation and reality. According to Zafar, Islam wasn’t just peaceful; it had actively enriched the world at a time when others were in darkness.

Key Contributions of Islamic Civilisation

Zafar reminded his audience that while Europe was in the Dark Ages, Islam was thriving with innovation.

  • Algebra was born from Islamic scholars.
  • Medicine was revolutionised by figures like Avicenna.
  • Poetry and philosophy flourished in cities like Baghdad and Cordoba.

So no, Islam wasn’t the problem—it was, in fact, part of the solution.

Muslims in the West Today

Zafar also pointed out that today, millions of Muslims live peacefully and productively in the West, serving as:

  • Doctors
  • Scientists
  • Artists
  • Community leaders

These are individuals who help build the future, not destroy it.

Want proof? Look at:

  • Dubai, a modern Islamic city thriving in global business and culture
  • Saudi Arabia, undergoing major reforms and opening doors to change

These are not war zones. These are examples of peaceful coexistence.

Responding to Misconceptions

Zafar didn’t stop there. He also clapped back at Rahul Sharma, an Indian influencer who tried to link Islam to terrorism. Zafar wasn’t having it.

He stated that there are countless articles linking violence to every religion, not just Islam.

The Power of Media Branding

Here’s where Zafar dropped a truth bomb.

“Linking it with Islam is branding — deliberate psychological marketing.”

He compared it to branding like “Nike = Just Do It” or “Apple = Innovation.”
But unfortunately, “Islam = Terror” has been drilled into public consciousness. And that’s not fact. That’s conditioning.

Terrorism Has No Religion

Zafar argued that terrorism is not tied to any one religion. Hate can grow anywhere—under any flag, in any name. And it’s irresponsible to pin that on a faith followed by over a billion people.

Public and Celebrity Reactions

Zafar’s statements sparked support far and wide:

  • Fans praised his courage.
  • Celebrities reshared his tweets.
  • Activists and educators joined the thread with statistics and resources.

What started as a reaction became a movement of awareness.

Why Zafar’s Words Matter

In a time when silence was easier, Ali Zafar chose to speak.

As a beloved celebrity, his words carry weight. They educate, challenge, and empower. And with that kind of platform? It’s priceless.

In fact, Zafar isn’t the first one to do that. Many international artists have used their platforms to speak for justice in the past—like Muhammad Ali, Angelina Jolie, and Riz Ahmed.

Breaking the Cycle of Misinformation

The internet can spread lies, but it can also spread light.

Zafar’s message? “Learn history. Not propaganda.”

Because if we let branding define our beliefs, we’re just buying into someone else’s lie. But if we seek truth through education, we reclaim the narrative.

Ali Zafar didn’t just tweet, he took a stand. In an age of digital noise, his message cut through with clarity, reason, and conviction. At a time when Islamophobia continues to rise, voices like his are vital. They remind the world of what Islam truly represents—peace, knowledge, and humanity.

HZSL’s operations are its ‘Zarai Deras’—service hubs currently in Burewala, Sahiwal, Sadhoke, and Pakpattan.

Lahore, 04 June 2025 — HBL Zarai Services Limited (HZSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Habib Bank Limited (HBL), has entered into a strategic partnership with Bayer Pakistan (Pvt) Limited, a subsidiary of Bayer AG, to enhance smallholder farmer access to essential agricultural inputs, crop protection products, and high-quality seeds. An agreement was signed by senior representatives from both organizations in Lahore.

Bayer Pakistan, through its Crop Science division, brings decades of global agricultural expertise and innovation, offering a comprehensive portfolio of crop protection and seed solutions. Currently reaching over two million smallholder farmers annually through direct engagement, Bayer is committed to expanding its reach and impact while improving agricultural productivity and promoting sustainable farming practices across Pakistan.

By leveraging HZSL’s on-ground footprint through its Zarai Deras and Zarai Dost Shops, and Bayer’s globally trusted crop science capabilities, this partnership is designed to deliver last-mile impact. Farmers will benefit from greater awareness, accessibility, and affordability of advanced agri-inputs while receiving localized agronomic support. The collaboration also aims to promote responsible usage of crop protection products and encourage adoption of best practices in line with global sustainability goals.

Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Amer Aziz, CEO of HBL Zarai Services Limited, stated:

Through this collaboration, HZSL and Bayer aim to create an integrated support framework for farmers by combining Bayer’s world-class product line with HZSL’s grassroots service model. With a shared goal to empower farmers, increase yield per acre, and strengthen food security, the partnership represents a major step forward in Pakistan’s agricultural transformation.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ahmed Ali, Managing Director and CEO of Bayer Pakistan, said:

We’re pleased to be partnering with HBL Zarai Services on this vital mission and look forward to leveraging their expertise to serve more farmers, ultimately enhancing overall agricultural productivity and food security.”

This strategic alliance builds on HZSL’s mission to provide free agronomy advisory, rental-based mechanization services, quality input supply, and crop procurement support. It also builds on Bayer’s intent to increase the capacity of smallholder farmers worldwide, in line with the company’s global mission Health for all, Hunger for none.

Look, if you’re still deep in your Ghibli phase, I can assure you that you’re not alone. And honestly, why shouldn’t one be? There is every reason for you to be obsessed with it. But what if we take it a step further?

So if you’ve fallen into the Ghibli trend vortex and still can’t claw your way out (nor should you), these five movies are non-negotiable.

1. Kiki’s Delivery Service (1989)

The original cottagecore witch vibes.

If “cosy” were a movie genre, Kiki’s Delivery Service would be its blueprint. Following 13-year-old witch-in-training Kiki as she sets off on a rite of passage to live alone for a year, the film is a masterclass in gentle storytelling.

She moves to a breezy coastal town, starts a flying delivery business, and faces the deeply relatable struggle of burnout.

This isn’t just a kids’ movie about a broomstick and a talking cat (though Jiji is the sarcastic best friend we all need). It offers a nuanced perspective on creativity, independence, and identity.

Honestly, if you’ve ever wanted to disappear into a life of making bread and flying parcels to grandmas, Kiki is your manifesto.

2. Spirited Away (2001)

Your gateway drug into a full Ghibli obsession.

This one’s a classic. The Oscar-winner. If you’ve ever tried to explain Spirited Away to someone who hasn’t seen it, you’ve probably found yourself spiraling into descriptions like, “Well, there’s this bathhouse run by a witch and a girl’s parents get turned into pigs, and there’s this spirit called No-Face who eats people but also isn’t evil? Also, a dragon-boy???”

And yet, it works. It’s a small girl, Chihiro’s journey of moving away from comfort to a brand-new place, bringing along all sorts of emotions, like fear, nervousness, and excitement.

Miyazaki brings this to life by actually sending Chihiro to a brand new world filled with demons, spirits, and adventure. You watch Chihiro slowly conquer her fears and grow into a confident young woman.

For example, you see her trepidation walking down the large wooden staircase at the beginning. But by the end of it, she’s flying through the sky on a dragon.

Beyond that major arc are several important, smaller lessons such as not forgetting who you are (your name), not giving into glutany and greed (through the gold), and learning that humans aren’t all or good or all bad but rather grey (Haku was a thief and stole from Zeniba).

3. Ponyo (2008)

Ponyo is for the part of you that forgot you were ever a child.

Loosely inspired by The Little Mermaid, this film tells the story of a goldfish princess who escapes the sea to become human and befriend a little boy named Sosuke. Sounds simple? Sure. But it’s also about the balance of nature, the chaos of love and how the world tilts on its axis when children believe fiercely and fearlessly.

This is probably Ghibli at its most whimsical. Watch it when the world feels too heavy.

4. Howl’s Moving Castle (2004)

Magic, Mayhem and a VERY dramatic Wizard.

Ah, yes, Howl. Aka Tumblr’s boyfriend before that was even a thing. And yes, he’s vain, cowardly, and absolutely a drama queen. But tell me you didn’t swoon just a little when he morphed into a literal bird demon to protect Sophie.

On the surface, this is a fantasy adventure: a girl is cursed into becoming an old woman, stumbles upon a walking castle, and becomes entangled with a wizard hiding from war. But like all Ghibli films, it’s never just about what’s happening. It’s about why it matters.

Sophie’s arc is one of the most quietly powerful in Ghibli’s roster. She doesn’t defeat a villain. She becomes herself. And Howl? For all his melodrama, he’s a metaphor for what it means to protect the tender parts of ourselves without shutting down.

5. When Marnie Was There (2014)

This one is a little different. It’s not directed by Miyazaki but by Hiromasa Yonebayashi —and it’s probably one of the most emotionally devastating Ghibli films ever made, in the best way possible.

When Marnie Was There follows Anna, a lonely, asthmatic girl sent to live with relatives in the countryside. There, she meets Marnie, a mysterious blonde girl who may or may not be real. The story unfolds like a memory; haunting, soft and filled with aching nostalgia.

If you want to cry in a beautiful way, this is your ticket.

6. My Neighbour Totoro (1988)

The film that taught us stillness is magic.

There’s no villain. No “plot” in the conventional sense. Just two sisters adjusting to rural life while their mother is sick in the hospital, and the whimsical forest spirits who comfort them through the uncertainty. Totoro is huge, furry, and silent—and yet, he speaks to something primal in us. Something about safety, nature, and awe.

This movie is a reminder that wonder lives in quiet places. In waiting at a bus stop during a rainstorm. In growing a garden. In taking naps on a giant furry tree god’s belly. If that doesn’t sound like healing, I don’t know what does.

The Ghibli Effect: Why We Keep Coming Back

So why do we keep circling back to these films? Why are we still reblogging gifs of Haku flying through the sky or listening to Joe Hisaishi’s soundtracks like it’s a religious experience?

Because Ghibli is more than animation. It builds worlds where kindness is powerful, where magic is subtle, and where food looks so good it makes you want to learn how to cook. So, stay a while and enjoy these films made from human creativity and human emotions only.

Now, your turn: Which Ghibli film lives rent-free in your head?

Is ChatGPT Your Therapist? Experts Warn of Potential Risks

is-chatgpt-your-therapist-experts-warn-of-potential

Artificial intelligence is moving beyond the realm of a productivity aid as humans increasingly seek chatbots like ChatGPT for mental health guidance. On social media platforms, consumers are substituting therapists with AI.

A TikTok user even asserted, “I officially quit therapy for ChatGPT.”

Why it’s so Appealing

It’s free. It’s 24/7. And it responds immediately.

While most people don’t refer to it as therapy, it serves the same purpose. They write out their issues and receive answers that seem concerned and thoughtful. ChatGPT tends to answer with subsequent questions and soothing advice.

Occasionally, it even suggests professional assistance.

is-chatgpt-your-therapist-experts-warn-of-potential
Is ChatGPT your therapist? It’s time to rethink

Another built-in chatbot on Snapchat counselled an individual on relationship distress. It told them, “Respect boundaries. Give space.” While the advice isn’t terrible, it’s generic and doesn’t provide much insight into the problem.

Some users even talked about suicidal behaviours. In such instances, ChatGPT answered back with national resources and helplines.

Experts Say: Not So Fast

Mental health experts worry. They caution that AI can’t substitute for trained human therapists.

“These instruments are not for psychotherapy,” stated Dr. Bruce Arnow of Stanford. “They aren’t regulated. They aren’t trained. And there’s no accountability.”

AI can get things wrong. It can provide incorrect or misleading answers. It can also retain confidential conversations, which is a privacy-invasive practice. In fact, there are certain things you just shouldn’t share with an AI chatbot.

Therapy is More Than Words

Real therapy builds trust over time. Therapists tailor their approach to each person’s unique emotional needs. AI doesn’t know your history. It doesn’t feel empathy. And it can’t offer emotional presence.

“The therapeutic relationship matters,” said Dr. Russell Fulmer of Husson University. “AI can’t replace that human bond.”

Can AI be Helpful at All?

Other experts think AI may still be useful. It might assist with journaling, symptom monitoring, or initial screening. Some apps like Woebot and Elomia are already doing this.

These bots have safety features. Elomia, for example, calls in a human when necessary. Woebot employs evidence-based therapy methods to direct conversations.

ChatGPT: A Tool, Not a Therapist

For now, experts concur: ChatGPT and the like can aid your mental health journey—but should not direct it.

“They can be part of the puzzle,” Fulmer said. “But no chatbot knows you like a real therapist does.”

Hey Chatbot? Did You Deliver Misinformation During the Pak-India Conflict?

Hey-Chatbot? Is-it-True-that-your-fact-checks-plant-Misinformation?

Artificial intelligence was supposed to help fight fake news. However, when users turned to chatbots during the recent India-Pakistan conflict, they didn’t receive clarity—they received misinformation.

Chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, and xAI’s Grok were flooded with questions about the war. Many people hoped for quick and reliable answers. What they got instead were false claims, outdated videos, and made-up facts.

hey-chatbot-is-it-true-that-your-fact-checks-plant-misinformation
When users turned to chatbots during the recent India-Pakistan conflict, they didn’t get clarity—they got confusion.

Wrong Answers, Confidently Given

Example? Grok showed an ancient video from Sudan, labelling it as an airstrike made on Pakistan’s Nur Khan airbase. Nothing like that had happened. Another video of a burning building in Nepal was “likely” labelled by the AI as a Pakistani military reaction. False again.

Such misinformation is not uncommon. NewsGuard researcher McKenzie Sadeghi says, according to their research, “Our research shows chatbots are not reliable, especially during breaking news.”

Their investigation revealed that leading chatbots tend to parrot lies and provide guesses rather than truths.

Fakes Passed Off as Facts

In Latin America, AFP fact-checkers questioned Grok regarding a viral video of a giant anaconda. According to Grok, it was real and even quoted spurious scientific expeditions to prove its authenticity. The video was artificially created by AI.

Gemini also made the same error. When questioned about an image of a woman created by AI, it verified her existence—someone who did not exist—and provided a false history. Such false verifications can easily go viral, with users posting AI-generated responses as evidence.

Less Human Oversight, More AI Guesswork

One of the issues is that platforms are reducing the use of human fact-checkers. Meta, for instance, shut down its third-party programme within the U.S. It now uses “Community Notes,” a crowdsourced system popular on X. Researchers indicate this won’t do.

hey-chatbot-is-it-true-that-your-fact-checks-plant-misinformation
Source: Built in

AI software is also prone to bias. It’s based on the quality of training. When a programmer changes instructions, the response from a chatbot can reflect a political agenda. Such was the case with Grok, which began referencing “white genocide,” a well-documented far-right conspiracy.

xAI then attributed it to an “unauthorised modification.”

The Risk is Real

Experts warn that relying on AI to use facts is dangerous. These devices tend to make guesses, assumptions, or echo the biases of their training set.

“I worry about the way AI treats sensitive subjects,” stated Angie Holan of the International Fact-Checking Network.

AI can be useful, but currently, it’s more of a rumour mill, spreading misinformation, than a truth machine.

Why Did the Victims Vanish After the DHA Incident?

dha-incident-court-grants-two-day-remand-of-salman-farooqi

A court in Karachi on Tuesday granted a two-day physical remand of Salman Farooqi and another accused in the DHA assault case. Both were presented before a city court by Gizri police in connection with the incident involving the assault of a young motorcyclist.

Salman Farooqi’s lawyer, Naeem Qureshi, submitted a bail application, arguing that the sections relating to issuing threats are bailable.

However, the investigation officer requested physical remand to continue the interrogation.

After hearing both sides, the court approved a two-day physical remand. It directed the investigating officer (IO) to present the accused at the next hearing, along with a progress report.

The incident took place in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Karachi, where Salman Farooqi, a businessman, assaulted a young motorcyclist in front of his sister.

The video of the assault went viral on social media, triggering widespread outrage and calls for strict legal action.

The case was registered at the Gizri Police Station. According to the police, the charges include issuing death threats, assault and public humiliation, based on the complaint of an eyewitness, Muhammad Saleem.

The victims were identified as Dheeraj and his sister Kalpana. They reportedly left their home in the Ranchor Line area after the video went viral.

Neighbours stated the siblings were scared for their safety due to the widespread attention the video received.

Police officials said efforts are underway to locate Dheeraj and Kalpana to record their statements. However, their current whereabouts remain unknown.

Salt Bae Sprinkled Out of PSG’s Post-Match Party, Internet Reacts

salt-bae-sprinkled-out-of-psgs-post-match-party-internet-reacts

The UEFA Champions League final was more than just about scores. Off the field, a Salt Bae viral moment captured part of the attention.

Following Paris Saint-Germain’s routing of Inter Milan 5–0 in Munich, fans and players celebrated. But an evocative short video clip outside the post-match site captured online attention. It captured Nusret Gokce, better known as Salt Bae, in what appeared to be a heated standoff with security personnel.

A post shared by Starsnippets (@star_snippets)

The Internet Went Wild

Following the incident, the internet went wild. They guessed he was booted out of PSG’s exclusive bash. Some joked he’d been “yaka paça” (basically, thrown out by the collar). Others claimed it was karma for past misbehaviour, such as barging into Argentina’s World Cup party in 2022.

Memes trailed. So did speculations. Was he not invited? Was he finally being “put in his place”?

Salt Bae Acted Fast

In a social media post, Salt Bae had denied everything. “There was no invitation-only party,” he posted. “We came with the UEFA bus because fans were waiting outside.” He had explained that he was there only to take photographs and wave to fans.

The “confrontation” was merely a staff member, named “Mr. Dormen,” simply showing him to his car, according to him.

“Don’t worry about small things,” Salt Bae wrote later. “The rest is artificial intelligence.”

Truth or Spin?

The remark raised an eyebrow. Was he accusing AI of the appearance of the video? Editing? Or the speed of rumour-spreading?

Reactions are split. Some accept his version. Others believe he’s spinning it. The brief clip does not provide context, but internet viewers rarely give the whole story a chance.

A Familiar Pattern

This is not the first time Salt Bae has stirred drama at a high-profile football event. His tendency to crash into parties—or insert himself into them—has brought both popularity and criticism.

What’s certain is this: get ejected or not, Salt Bae somehow managed to take over headlines following a record-breaking football moment. As social media dissected every frame of video, one thing hasn’t changed— he knows how to remain viral.

How to Check IMEI Number on Different Devices?

how-to-check-imei-number-on-mobile

Have you ever heard the term “IMEI number” and wondered what it means?

An IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a 15-digit unique serial number of a device. It can be used to check a device’s country of origin, manufacturer and model number. Pretty crucial and handy if you ask me.

But wait, how do you check the IMEI number? Especially on different types of devices (Apple, Samsung, other Androids)?

Check Your IMEI Number on Any Device

First things first: how do you check your IMEI number on any device? No matter what phone you’re using, there are a few universal methods:

Method 1: Dial Code *#06#

  1. The quickest way to find your IMEI number is to open your dialer and dial *#06# from your device.
  2. Once you press ‘Call’, your IMEI number will instantly appear on the screen.

Simple, right? The best part? This works on almost all phones, regardless of the operating system (Android or iOS).

Method 2: Check the Settings

Another easy way is through your phone’s settings menu. This method varies slightly based on the brand or operating system, so let’s break it down further below.

Check Your IMEI Number on Your Apple Device

If you’re using an iPhone, here’s how to find your IMEI number:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap General
  3. Select About
  4. Scroll down to find your IMEI number

You can also find the IMEI etched on the SIM tray or the back of older iPhones. If your iPhone still has its original box, the IMEI is usually printed on the barcode label as well.

Check Your IMEI Number on Your Samsung Device

Samsung users can check the IMEI through these steps:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Select About phone or About device
  3. You’ll see your IMEI, model number, and serial number displayed on-screen.

Some Samsung phones also include the IMEI on the back of the device (though this is becoming rare).

Check Your IMEI Number on an Android Device

Not all Android phones are created equal, but most follow a similar route:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Scroll to About phone (or About device)
  3. Look for IMEI information

Some devices with dual SIMs may show two IMEI numbers, one for each slot.

check-your-imei-number-on-android-device

What is an IMEI number?

Your IMEI number (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique 15-digit code assigned to your mobile device. Think of it as your phone’s fingerprint. No two devices in the world share the same IMEI number.

This unique number can reveal all the details about a phone without requiring physical possession, including the brand and model, year of release, and other specifications.

It helps mobile networks identify valid devices and can be crucial if your phone is lost or stolen. Authorities and service providers can use this number to block your device from being used on networks, rendering it useless to thieves.

Importance of IMEI Number

Here’s why your IMEI number is more important than you might think:

  • Theft protection: You can report your IMEI to block the phone. This means that the criminal would not be able to use it, even if they put in a new SIM card.
  • Network unlocking: It’s used to unlock your phone for use with other carriers.
  • Warranty and repairs: IMEI helps service centres verify authenticity.
  • Buying/selling: When buying a used phone, checking the IMEI ensures it’s not blacklisted or stolen. Every company will always check the IMEI first to see if the phone has been reported as stolen.
  • Tracking and identification: Law enforcement agencies use it to track lost or stolen devices.

Final Verdict

Whether you’re troubleshooting, selling your phone, or just curious, knowing how to check IMEI number is crucial and often gets underestimated. It’s a small piece of data with a big role in mobile security and identification. Note it down and save it somewhere!

Too Long; Didn’t Read – Quick Recap

  • IMEI = unique identifier for your phone

  • Dial *#06# or go to Settings to find it

  • Useful for security, unlocking, and tracking

  • Always verify it when buying or selling phones

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Here are some frequently asked questions to help you clear up any queries you may have.

Q- How to Check If IMEI is Original?

Ans: You can verify your IMEI number by visiting the official IMEI checker websites, such as IMEI.info or your device manufacturer’s website. Input the 15-digit IMEI, and it’ll tell you if it’s valid, active, and what device it belongs to.

Q- Can a Fake Phone Have an IMEI?

Ans: Unfortunately, yes. Some counterfeit phones use copied or invalid IMEI numbers. This is why verifying the IMEI before purchasing a used or imported phone is crucial.

Q- Is IMEI My SIM number?

Ans: No, your IMEI is tied to your device, while your SIM number (ICCID) is tied to your SIM card. One identifies the phone, the other the mobile line. You can also check how many SIMs are registered on your CNIC, through various methods.

Cricket Australia Confirms White-ball Tour Of Pakistan In 2026

cricket-australia-confirms-white-ball-tour-of-pakistan

Australia is all set to tour Pakistan in early 2026 for a white-ball series that promises thrills, fierce competition, and a deepening bond between two proud cricketing nations.

Speaking in an online press conference, Cricket Australia (CA) CEO Todd Greenberg confirmed the upcoming tour and shared a wave of optimism about what lies ahead.

“I believe it will be another good tour of Pakistan. The series is an important part of our schedule,” Greenberg said, emphasizing CA’s continued commitment to working closely with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The series, slated for February–March 2026, will include three ODIs and three T20Is, according to the ICC’s Future Tours Programme (FTP) for 2025–27.

Rewinding to 2022

Let’s be honest — when Australia last toured Pakistan in 2022, it felt historic. A 24-year gap was finally bridged, and the tour turned out to be nothing short of memorable.

There were Tests, ODIs, and even a T20I. The cricket was competitive, the stadiums were packed, and the hospitality? Absolutely top-tier.

cricket-australia-confirms-white-ball-tour-of-pakistan

Greenberg, too, couldn’t help but recall the good vibes from that series:

“In 2022, we toured Pakistan after a long gap and were given a very warm welcome. It would be fantastic to continue such tours.”

It wasn’t just about cricket; it was about sending a message — that international teams can tour Pakistan safely, and cricket in the country is thriving once again.

What Makes This Series Even More Interesting?

Well, for starters, the last time Pakistan visited Australia (in November 2024), they pulled off a remarkable 2-1 win in the ODI series under the captaincy of Mohammad Rizwan. It was their first ODI series victory on Australian soil since 2002, and it left fans dreaming of more magic.

Sure, Australia bounced back by sweeping the T20I series 3-0, but the signs were clear: Pakistan is no pushover, especially in white-ball cricket.

Now, with the tables turned and Australia touring Pakistan, the stakes feel even higher. Can Rizwan’s men hold their ground at home? Or will the Aussies come roaring back?

cricket-australia-confirms-white-ball-tour-of-pakistan

Spotlight on the BBL

The conversation didn’t just stick to international cricket.

Greenberg also opened up about the Big Bash League (BBL) and the growing excitement around seeing Pakistani players feature more regularly in Australia’s premier T20 competition.

“There is no doubt Pakistani players are very popular within the community,” he said. “If top Pakistani players come, they will definitely enjoy it here, and the league will benefit immensely.”

It’s true — fans love the flair and firepower that Pakistani stars bring. And while talks are still in progress, Greenberg confirmed that CA is actively working to bring more of them in for the next BBL season.

So, could we see the likes of Shaheen Afridi, Babar Azam, or Shadab Khan lighting up Australian grounds this winter? Fingers crossed!

Pakistan to Play in Sri Lanka as Women’s World Cup Schedule Revealed

pakistan-to-play-in-sri-lanka-icc-womens-world-cup-2025

Get ready, cricket fans — the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 is officially on the calendar, and it promises to be a spectacle!

Scheduled from September 30 to November 2, this tournament will feature the world’s top eight women’s teams battling it out for the ultimate prize in women’s cricket. But there’s a twist — especially if you’re a Pakistan supporter.

Pakistan’s Home Away from Home?

The biggest headline for Pakistan fans is this: every single one of Pakistan’s matches will be played in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Yes, you read that right. Although India and Sri Lanka are co-hosting the tournament, Pakistan won’t play a single game in India. Instead, they’ll have the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo as their exclusive venue.

This isn’t random. It’s part of the ‘fusion formula’, a diplomatic workaround devised to keep India and Pakistan from travelling to each other’s territories for ICC events — at least for the next three years. Think of it as cricket diplomacy in action.

So, Colombo becomes Pakistan’s base. And honestly? It’s not the worst setup. The conditions are familiar, the fans are welcoming, and the cricket’s always exciting.

Women’s World Cup Venues

The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 matches will be spread across five venues, split between India and Sri Lanka:

  • M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru

  • ACA Stadium, Guwahati

  • Holkar Stadium, Indore

  • ACA-VDCA Stadium, Visakhapatnam

  • R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo

While most teams will be hopping between Indian cities, Pakistan will stay put in Colombo throughout the group stage — a potential advantage in terms of consistency and familiarity.

What About the Knockouts?

Here’s where things get even more interesting.

  • First Semi-Final: Scheduled for October 29, and could be held either in Guwahati or Colombo, depending on the teams involved.

  • Second Semi-Final: Set for October 30 in Bengaluru.

  • Final: Locked in for November 2 in Bengaluru — unless Pakistan make it to the final. If they do, the ICC will shift the title clash to Colombo to stick with the neutral venue arrangement.

Yes, the final itself is flexible. If Pakistan reaches the summit clash, the cricketing world will head to Sri Lanka for the grand finale. That’s how serious the ICC is about maintaining this diplomatic balance.

Babar Azam, Rizwan Receive Call-Up to Mike Hesson’s White-ball Camp

babar-azam-rizwan-in-mike-hesson-white-ball-camp

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has named 22 white-ball players for a crucial three-day training camp in Lahore from June 3-5.  This White ball camp aims to lay the foundation for a new white-ball era under head coach Mike Hesson. And yes, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi are all part of the plan, despite the whispers suggesting otherwise.

Why This Camp Matters?

Let’s be honest, the past year or so in Pakistan cricket has been chaotic. Captaincy drama, inconsistent performances, T20 World Cup selections under scrutiny — it’s been a ride. So, this camp feels like a much-needed breather.

According to sources, players will be divided into three groups, reporting on June 3, 4, and 5. But the big three — Babar, Rizwan, and Shaheen — are expected to be present throughout the entire camp.

That alone sends a strong message: they’re not out of the picture.

Mike Hesson Gets to Work

This will be Mike Hesson’s first real hands-on opportunity with the players since taking over the white-ball reins.

The 50-year-old New Zealander, known for his analytical mind and modern approach, plans to personally engage with each player, assess their fitness, analyse recent performances, and — perhaps most importantly — share his vision for Pakistan’s white-ball future.

It’s a smart move. No filters, no middlemen. Just coach-to-player clarity.

babar-azam-rizwan-in-mike-hesson-white-ball-camp
Babar Azam, Rizwan Receive Call-Up to Mike Hesson’s White-ball Camp

Who’s Been Called Up?

Along with the regulars, a few fresh and exciting names — mostly standout performers from PSL 10 — have been included.

Here’s the full list: Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Usman Khan, Saud Shakeel, Shahid Aziz, Abbas Afridi, Salman Mirza, Mir Hamza, Abdullah Shafique, Khawaja Nafay, Haider Ali, Ahmed Daniyal, Mehran Mumtaz, Khurram Shahzad, Maaz Sadaqat, Mohammad Nawaz, Aamir Jamal, Naseem Shah, Sufiyan Muqeem, Ali Raza, and Tayyab Tahir.

Some of these names might not be household yet — but trust us, this camp could be their ticket to the national side if they impress.

The Babar-Rizwan Debate

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room: the place of Babar and Rizwan in the T20I setup. Critics have long targeted the duo’s strike rates and “old-fashioned” batting approach in the shortest format.

And that’s one of the key reasons they were recently dropped from the T20I team. But Hesson has already made his stance clear in earlier interviews:

Babar and Rizwan are in the plans. The goal is to improve them according to modern cricket demands.”

So, rather than throwing them under the bus, the new coach wants to refine their roles, not remove them. It’s a refreshing take. With the right tweaks and tactical clarity, these two can still be absolute match-winners.

A Fresh Start After a Clean Sweep

It’s also worth noting that Pakistan recently pulled off something they hadn’t done in nearly three years — a home T20I series win. And not just any win — a 3-0 clean sweep over Bangladesh.

It was the perfect start to Hesson’s regime, and more importantly, the team played with aggressive intent — something fans had been crying out for.

This camp now allows Hesson and his staff to build on that momentum and assess where each player fits in going forward.

Caught After the Click: DHA Karachi Assault Suspect Arrested!

caught-after-the-click-dha-karachi-assault-suspect-arrested

Karachi police arrested a primary suspect along with two staff members for assaulting a resident in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) region. The incident drew notice when a video went viral on social media earlier in the day.

Arrested from DHA was Salman Farooqi, whose opulent car was confiscated. In a statement, Karachi South Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Asad Raza verified this.

Driving a Land Cruiser, Salman Farooqi reportedly assaulted a bike rider accompanying a woman on Khayaban-i-Ittehad road following a little collision. He supposedly tortured the guy right then.

Earlier, during late-night searches of Farooqi’s office and DHA home, police detained his driver and armed guard. DIG Raza stated that the government did not employ the suspect.

DIG Raza further stated that the victim did not go to the police to file a report, and attempts were being made to contact the victim’s family.

Farooqi, along with his driver and guard, saw the Gizri police register a first information report (FIR). A citizen named Mohammad Saleem filed the FIR under provisions 354 and 506-B of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Other chapters covered 34 (common intention), 342 (wrongful confinement), and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace). Saleem introduced himself as the cell manager of a cellular company.

Saleem claims the event occurred near Ittehad Commercial on Sunday at approximately 8:35 pm. A small crash occurred between the Land Cruiser and a bike.

The complainant said  Farooqi held the biker within his car. He then used threatening, insulting language and struck him. She tried to stop him; he shoved her back with disdain.

DIG Raza remarked that police were treating the situation “quite seriously.” He promised “complete justice” for the victim and added, “No one is above the law.”

Karachi Additional IG Javed Alam Odho and Sindh Home Minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar also commissioned a thorough report. Telling the South SSP to respond against the offenders, they asserted that nobody is above the law.
