Black Mirror Drops Season 7 Trailer... and It's Eerie!

A trailer for Black Mirror season 7 on Netflix has been released, and it shows significant ties to earlier episodes, including the first-ever direct sequel in the history of the series.

The six-episode anthology series aims to challenge the boundaries of morality, technology, and human psychology. The teaser, which is set to a spooky, warped version of “Dream a Little Dream,” is a kaleidoscope of eerie images and surreal situations.

The most significant revelation is the reappearance of the fan-favourite season 4 episode, U.S.S. Callister. For the first time in Black Mirror’s history, original cast members Jimmi Simpson, Osy Ikhile, Milanka Brooks, Billy Magnussen and Cristin Milioti are returning to their roles.

Additionally, Will Poulter and Asim Chaudhry seem to be reprising their roles from the interactive special Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. This raises the prospect of a season with two Black Mirror sequels.

Disney’s ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Live-Action Trailer Brings Chaos to the Real World

Disney’s ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Live-Action Trailer Brings Chaos to the Real World

Who knew that wishing on a star could result in you getting a best friend, that too an adorable one. This is exactly what happens in the live-action remake of Disney’s “Lilo & Stitch.”

Yes, the much anticipated trailer is finally out and it’s safe to say that its already bringing chaos in the real world- in a good way!

About the Movie: What We Can Understand from the Trailer

The trailer introduces Lilo, a lonely Hawaiian girl longing for a best friend. When she wishes upon a shooting star, she unexpectedly comes across an adorable “puppy” like animal named Stitch. Little did she know that it was an out-of-control extraterrestrial experiment designed for destruction. Unexpectedly though, Lilo and Stitch form a unique bond through the Hawaiian concept of “ohana,” meaning family—where nobody gets left behind (just like in the 2002 animated classic).

Despite the destructive nature of Stitch, like honking at innocent drivers and throwing a CD at a moving car, Lilo always sticks with her best friend. This is where Elvis Presly’s “Devil in Disguise” starts playing in the background, adding emphasis on Stitch’s destructive yet cute nature. Eventually, Stitch also realises that his behaviour is bad and Lilo reassures him. How innocent!

The movie seems to be an insightful one, which teaches us to believe in the ones we consider family. Surely with love, even the most destructive of nature can be fixed.

The Movie Release and Expectations

Lilo & Stitch is set to hit theaters on May 23, following Disney’s Snow White remake in March. The film joins a lineup of live-action adaptations, including The Lion KingBeauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Little Mermaid, all of which have seen varying levels of box-office success. Certainly, this one will be a massive hit, too. Everyone is already looking forward to it.

Instagram Delays Launch of 'Edits' Video App to March 31, 2025

Instagram’s new video editor app, Edits, will launch later than expected. According to the App Store, the release date was initially set for March 13, but it has now shifted to March 31, 2025. Meta hasn’t shared a reason for the delay.

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri introduced Edits as a tool for people who love making videos on their phones. The app promises a full range of creative features, including:

  • Inspiration tab to explore ideas
  • Idea tracker to save concepts
  • High-quality camera for better video capture
  • Complete editing tools for trimming, merging, and more
  • Draft sharing with friends and creators
  • Seamless export to Instagram and detailed Reels insights

Screenshots show options to crop videos, add sound and voiceovers, create subtitles and adjust settings like resolution and frame rate. Unlike some competitors, Edits will allow watermark-free exports to any platform.

Interestingly, Instagram announced Edits the same day the US banned TikTok and CapCut. Since Reels already competes with TikTok, it makes sense for Meta to invest in its own editor.

The app will first launch for iPhone, with an Android version coming “soon after.”

All 45 Pakistan Cricketers Go Unsold in The Hundred 2025 Draft

All 45 Pakistan Cricketers Go Unsold in The Hundred 2025 drafts

The player draft for The Hundred 2025 took place on March 12, with no Pakistan players securing contracts. Despite 45 men’s cricketers registering, all remained unselected.

In the men’s draft, Naseem Shah was the highest-priced Pakistan player, setting a reserve price of £120,000. Imad Wasim and Saim Ayub listed at £78,500, while Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali and Mohammad Hasnain entered at £63,000.

Several others, including Mohammad Abbas and Haider Ali, registered without reserve prices. With overseas slots still available, the complete omission of Pakistan players was unexpected. Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s Noor Ahmad and New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell secured £200,000 deals, the highest among overseas signings.

The draft also marked a shift in The Hundred’s structure, with external investments entering franchises. Four teams are now backed by IPL owners, a league where Pakistan players have been absent since the very first edition back in 2008.

England’s veteran pacer James Anderson was another high-profile omission. The 42-year-old, set to play in the T20 Blast, was overlooked for one of the 26 domestic spots but remains eligible for a wildcard pick.

Elsewhere, Australia’s David Warner landed his first Hundred contract, signing with London Spirit for £120,000, while Champions Trophy Player of the Tournament Rachin Ravindra joined Manchester Originals.

England internationals also secured lucrative deals, with Jamie Overton and David Willey earning £200,000 contracts. Teams can still make final adjustments in May’s wildcard draft before the tournament begins on August 5.

FO Blames India for Terror Strikes in Pakistan

FO Blames India for Terror Strikes in Pakistan

The Foreign Office (FO) has accused India of being behind terrorist attacks in Pakistan. During a weekly briefing in Islamabad, FO spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan confirmed that the rescue operation following the Jaffar Express attack had been successfully completed. He also stated that intelligence reports indicated the terrorists were in contact with their associates in Afghanistan during the attack.

The Jaffar Express was ambushed on Tuesday by separatist militants while traveling from Quetta to Peshawar. The attackers blew up the railway track and fired rockets at the train. A two-day operation was conducted by security forces to neutralise the terrorists. Following the rescue, Lt-Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated that 21 hostages lost their lives during the standoff. However, the ISPR clarified that no civilians were harmed in the final operation.

FO spokesperson reiterated Pakistan’s concerns over terrorist groups using Afghan soil for cross-border attacks. “We have repeatedly asked the Afghan interim government to prevent organisations like the BLA from operating within its borders,” Khan said. Pakistan has previously provided evidence to Afghan authorities regarding militant safe havens. Despite ongoing tensions, Islamabad remains committed to counterterrorism cooperation.

According to the ISPR, the attack took place in a remote area, making rescue efforts challenging. The Army, Air Force, and Frontier Corps participated in the operation, with Special Service Group (SSG) personnel also involved. The ISPR statement revealed that the attackers included suicide bombers and that 4 security personnel lost their lives while preventing further casualties.

Bluesky CEO’s Shirt Sends Message to Zuckerberg at SXSW 2025

Bluesky CEO’s Shirt Sends Message to Zuckerberg at SXSW 2025

At SXSW 2025, Bluesky CEO Jay Graber made a bold fashion statement that reflected her company’s vision. She wore a large black T-shirt with the phrase “Mundus sine caesaribus,” meaning “A world without Caesars.” This was a direct contrast to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s past reference to Julius Caesar, where he wore a shirt with “Aut Zuck aut nihil” (Either Caesar or nothing).

Bluesky, a decentralised and open-source social network, stands against the centralised control of platforms like Facebook. Graber highlighted this during her keynote, explaining, “If a billionaire came in and bought Bluesky, or took it over or if I decided tomorrow to change things in a way that people really didn’t like, then they could fork off and go on to another application.” She added that multiple applications already exist within Bluesky’s network, giving users the freedom to create alternatives.

Read more: Bluesky Gains 11M Users After US Elections

Meta has faced criticism for its policies, including using public user posts to train AI and reducing third-party fact-checking. These decisions have led users to seek alternative platforms, with Bluesky gaining traction. However, while Bluesky is nearing 33 million users, Meta still dominates with over 3.35 billion daily active users across Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook.

Despite the vast difference in user base, Bluesky’s decentralised model offers users more control and transparency. Unlike proprietary platforms, Bluesky allows users to modify and distribute its open-source code. Graber’s message at SXSW suggests that the future of social media could shift towards platforms that prioritize user autonomy over centralised control.

Solar Price in Pakistan: What’s the Cost of Going Green?

An array of solar panels convert sunlight to electricity.

Lately, Pakistanis have preferred to go green by adopting solarisation. This change is primarily due to skyrocketing grid electricity tariffs that have increased by 155% over three years. The high electricity cost coupled with declining solar panel prices due to China’s overproduction resulted in a new trend of “Solar” in Pakistani households. This interest in renewable energy has left the experts in shock too as no one saw such a massive change coming. Pakistan is now the world’s sixth-largest solar market.

And honestly, after so long, our country is adopting a good habit; an economical one. Solar energy is a cost-effective solution to electric energy, given that its purchase is done wisely.

If you are also someone who aims to install solar panels in your house, make sure to first consider the price ranges in the market and then make a calculated purchase.

Where to Buy Solar Panels?

By now, you most probably have decided which one you are buying, but how and where does one buy solar panels in Pakistan? Well, if you are buying online, you can use e-commerce platforms like Daraz, OLX Pakistan, Paksolar and Shopsy. If buying from these third party platforms gives you trust issues, you can go to the official website of the companies mentioned above or visit Saddar’s Electronic Market or Korangi Industrial Area.

What is Net Metering? Government Incentives On Solar Energy

Net metering is a billing mechanism that allows solar energy users to sell excess electricity generated by their solar panels back to the national grid. This policy was launched by the government of Pakistan to encourage people to install solar panels in Pakistan.

How Net Metering Works in Pakistan?

  1. Solar panels generate electricity; any unused electricity is sent to the grid.
  2. The grid records surplus electricity through a bi-directional meter installed by your power distribution company (DISCO).
  3. Excess units are credited to your electricity bill.
  4. At the end of the billing cycle, the consumer pays only for the net electricity used (total consumption minus solar exports).

Why Do We Need Solar Panels?

In the current economic state of the country, where the average unit price (per KWH) of electricity is approximately 65 PKR, we need Solar energy as a cost-effective solution to combat the high inflation. If one can’t save with daily expenditure, at least something will be saved with renewable energy sources.

Yes, the initial cost is high, but so are the long run benefits. Go green now and do a favour to your limited income as well as the environment.

Parents of Murdered UK-Pakistani Girl Appeal Life Terms

Parents Of Murdered UK-Pakistani Girl Appeal Life Terms

A UK court will hear the appeals of Urfan Sharif and Beinash Batool, who were jailed for life for murdering 10-year-old Sara Sharif. The trial revealed horrific abuse, with Sara suffering broken bones, burns and beatings with a metal pole. The judge described the cruelty as extreme and noted that neither parent showed “a shred of remorse.”

Sara’s father received a 40-year sentence, while her stepmother was sentenced to at least 33 years. Faisal Malik, her uncle, was given 16 years for causing or allowing her death. The Solicitor General, Lucy Rigby, is also appealing the father’s sentence, arguing it was “unduly lenient.”

The abuse went unnoticed by social services, despite Sara’s school raising concerns multiple times. She was withdrawn from school four months before her death. The court heard she was forced to wear a hijab to cover her injuries. The case led to new government rules on home-schooling.

After Sara’s death, the three adults fled to Pakistan, leaving behind a note claiming no intention to kill her. They returned to the UK after a month and were arrested. Sara’s body was repatriated to Poland, where her mother arranged her funeral.

Bedridden Woman Brought to Bank on Stretcher for Biometrics Verification

Bedridden Woman Brought to Bank on Stretcher for Biometrics Verification

An elderly woman was taken to a bank in Karachi’s North Nazimabad area on a stretcher for biometric verification. The bank reportedly offers home service for this process, but her family still brought her in a severely ill state. A video circulating online showed the woman sitting in a chair while her attendants helped her complete the biometric verification.

In the video, a voice says, “I am at the HBL bank in L-Block, North Nazimabad, where a patient was brought on a stretcher for biometric verification.” Meanwhile, a bank official tried to stop the person from filming and instructed a guard to take away the phone.

Despite the incident, the bank staff could not explain why the woman was brought in despite her condition. Another bank official was heard telling the person recording, “It is not allowed. Do you even know the situation? You are filming in a sensitive area.”

The incident has raised concerns about the challenges elderly and sick individuals face in completing mandatory biometric verification. The video has sparked discussions on social media, with many questioning why the family had to bring her to the bank instead of using the home service.

New Stan Lee Documentary to Explore Elder Abuse Allegations

The life of the iconic Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee, co-creator of characters such as Spider-Man, X-Men and Iron Man, is the subject of a new documentary that makes for troubling questions about his later years. Called Stan Lee: The Final Chapter, the documentary seeks to shed light on the reported mistreatment and manipulation of Lee in the years leading up to his death in 2018 at 95 years old.

A Heartbreaking Reality Unveiled

Directed by Jon Bolerjack, who worked as Lee’s assistant for the final four years of his life, the documentary purports to uncover a heartbreaking truth. Despite his illness, Lee was urged to participate in autograph signings and photo shoots, events that rode on his fame at the expense of his health.

Bolerjack, who started this documentary as an individual project, asserts to have captured a remarkable quantity of behind-the-scenes action documenting Lee’s exploitation by people who sought to make money from his image. The filmmaker reports that his attempts to expose the truth have encountered resistance in the form of possible threats and legal obstacles intended to stop the documentary from being released.

A Quest for Justice and Transparency

The documentary, which has set up a Kickstarter project to raise more than £230,000, vows to shed light on this dark tale. The trailer features Lee being escorted to conventions, obviously tired but still being trotted out for financial reward. Interviews with big comic book names like Mark Waid, Rob Liefeld and Roy Thomas lend extra weight to Bolerjack’s assertions.

Stan Lee’s legacy continues to be a strong presence in the world of entertainment, particularly as Marvel movies continue to reign supreme at the box office. Stan Lee: The Final Chapter does pose significant ethical questions regarding how legends are treated in their advanced age.

A Necessary Wake-Up Call

Lee’s last cameo appearance was in Avengers: Endgame (2019), a sentimental tribute that honoured his impact on pop culture. But if what this documentary uncovered is true, it indicates an unsettling irony between the way Lee was beloved by fans and how he was handled by those allegedly closest to him.

As fans and the industry at large grapple with this new information, the documentary’s release could serve as a necessary wake-up call about safeguarding the dignity and legacy of cultural icons like Stan Lee.

In the first phase, 5,000 youth will receive call center training. After six weeks, they will be eligible for jobs paying around Rs100,000 per month. Ramadan Cookbook: Delicious Kabab Recipes

Ramadan Cookbook: Delicious Kabab Recipes

Ramadan is here and while everyone is focused on fasting, let’s not forget to treat our stomachs now and then with delicious food.

How about adding some protein? Through Kababs specifically. Here are some mouth-watering Kebab recipes that everyone will love.

Chicken Kababs

We all can agree that chicken surely makes every dish much more delicious. How about some chicken Kababs then? Here is how you can make the best chicken Kababs.

Warning: You might love this recipe a little too much!

Ingredients

  • Chicken 500g (minced)
  • Red onion, 1
  • Orange pepper, 1
  • Cloves of garlic, 5
  • Red chilis, 3
  • Coriander (handful)
  • Paprika, 1 teaspoon
  • Turmeric, 1/4 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder, 1 tablespoon
  • Onion powder, 1 tablespoon
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Coriander powder, 2 tablespoons
  •  Cumin powder, 1 tablespoon
  • Egg, 1
  • Breadcrumbs, 4 tablespoon
  • Ginger paste, 2 tablespoon

Instructions

  • Begin by finely chopping the onion and pepper and then placing in a tea towel to squeeze out the excess moisture. This is extremely important as excess water in the chicken mixture can prevent you from shaping the kebabs well. Now, add this directly from the tea towel to the minced chicken in a large bowl.
  • Finely chop the garlic and chili and add these to the minced chicken.
  • Add the dry seasonings: garlic powder, paprika powder, turmeric, onion powder, salt, coriander powder and cumin powder. Once you have added all the dry seasoning, mix ginger and garlic paste in it too. Then, crack in 1 egg and add the breadcrumbs.
  • Thoroughly combine  (we recommend doing it by hand with a pair of gloves) all the seasoning with the chicken mince. Once done pop it in the fridge to marinate overnight. The longer the marination time, the better the flavour will be!
  • Lightly grease your hands with some oil before shaping them into round chicken kebabs.
  • Pan fry with some rapeseed oil for about 4-5 minutes on each side and until golden brown. Alternatively you can bake in the oven or air-fry them too!

Petrol Prices to Drop by Rs14.16 per Litre from March 16

Petrol Prices to Drop by Rs14.16 per Litre from March 16

Consumers are expected to see a massive relief in fuel prices from March 16, 2025, as global oil prices decline. The ex-depot price of petrol is likely to drop by Rs14.16 per litre, bringing it down to Rs241.47 from Rs255.63.

The price of diesel is also projected to decrease by Rs8.70 per litre, lowering it to Rs249.94 from Rs258.64. Diesel plays a crucial role in transport and agriculture, especially with the crop harvesting season approaching.

Consumers of kerosene oil can expect a price reduction of Rs10.33 per litre, dropping from Rs168.12 to Rs157.79. Kerosene oil, often called the poor man’s fuel, is widely used for cooking in remote areas where LPG is unavailable. The Pakistan Army is also a key consumer in the northern regions. Meanwhile, the price of light diesel oil, which is used in industries, is expected to fall by Rs7.12 per litre, reducing it to Rs146.22 from Rs153.34.

Several factors influence petroleum prices, including global oil rates, government taxes, inland freight equalisation margin, exchange rates and the premium on petrol imports. Currently, the import premium stands at $6.6 per barrel. While petroleum prices are decreasing, LNG prices are rising.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has announced a slight increase in LNG consumer prices from March 1, 2025, due to higher import costs. The price for SNGPL consumers has increased by 0.37% to $12.94 per mmBtu, while SSGC consumers will pay 0.42% more at $12.74 per mmBtu. Pakistan imports LNG from Qatar under a long-term contract.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi Steps In to Protect Domestic Cricketers’ Match Fees

mohsin-naqvi-to-succeed-jay-shah-as-acc-president-pcb-chairman-mohsin-naqvi-protect-domestic-cricketers-match-fees-shahid-afridi

Just when it seemed like domestic cricketers were about to face a massive pay cut, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi stepped in and put a stop to it.

In a swift move, he directed officials to maintain the existing match fees, ensuring that players competing in the National T20 tournament wouldn’t suffer financially.

This decision comes after reports surfaced that match fees were set to be slashed from PKR 100,000 per match to just PKR 10,000—a drastic drop that had many cricketers and fans worried.

Even more shocking was the rumored cut for reserve players, who were reportedly going to receive just PKR 5,000 per game.

Mohsin Naqvi Takes Immediate Action

Thankfully, Mohsin Naqvi wasn’t having any of it. He acted immediately, instructing Director of Domestic Cricket Abdullah Khurram Niazi to ensure that no reductions take place.

“The PCB Chairman has immediately halted any reduction in match fees for all players in the National T20 tournament,” a PCB spokesperson confirmed. “Additionally, an immediate review of match fees has been ordered.”

This intervention highlights the PCB’s commitment to supporting domestic cricketers, especially in a tournament that serves as a stepping stone for emerging talent.

Why Domestic Cricket Matters?

The National T20 tournament, set to begin on March 15 in Faisalabad, is a crucial platform for young players looking to break into the national side.

Many of Pakistan’s biggest cricketing stars have shined in domestic cricket before making their way to the international stage.

Had the proposed pay cut gone through, it could have been a major setback for domestic players, many of whom rely on match fees as their primary source of income.

A significant reduction would have made it harder for players to sustain their careers, possibly forcing some to step away from the game altogether.

A Step in the Right Direction

Naqvi’s decision sends a strong message—Pakistan’s domestic cricketers deserve respect and financial security.

While international cricket often takes the spotlight, domestic cricket is the backbone of Pakistan’s cricketing ecosystem. Ensuring fair compensation is crucial for keeping talented players motivated and financially stable.

With the National T20 just around the corner, this move brings relief to players and allows them to focus on what truly matters—performing on the field.

Sarfaraz Ahmed Returns to Quetta Gladiators—But in a New Role!

sarfaraz-ahmed-removed-as-quetta-gladiators-captain-psl-psl-10-draft-shockers-big-names-that-went-unpicked

The Quetta Gladiators and Sarfaraz Ahmed—it’s a bond that goes back to the very beginning of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

For years, he led the team with passion, grit, and an undying fighting spirit. Now, just as many thought his time with the franchise was over, the Gladiators have brought him back—not as a player, but as their Team Director.

The announcement was made by franchise owner Nadeem Omar during a sponsor signing ceremony, bringing Sarfaraz back into the Gladiators’ setup ahead of PSL 10, which starts on April 11.

A New Chapter After an Unexpected Draft Snub

Sarfaraz’s return to Quetta Gladiators is significant, especially after what happened during the PSL 10 draft. The former Pakistan captain, who had been the face of the franchise since 2016, was released by Quetta and then went unpicked by all teams.

It was a shocking moment for many, considering his contributions to the Gladiators over the years. Initially, reports suggested that Sarfaraz might step in as head coach, replacing Shane Watson, who withdrew due to scheduling conflicts.

However, instead of coaching, the 37-year-old has now taken on the role of Team Director.

What This Means for Quetta Gladiators?

Quetta owner Nadeem Omar believes this move will bring stability and experience to the team.

“Sarfaraz led Quetta Gladiators really well as a captain, and I am hopeful he will do the same as Team Director. The combination of Moin Khan as Head Coach and Sarfaraz in this new role will do wonders for us,” Omar stated.

This means Sarfaraz will still be a key part of the team’s strategy, planning, and leadership—just from a different angle. His deep understanding of the Gladiators’ culture, PSL dynamics, and player mentality could make him an invaluable asset in this position.

Sarfaraz Ahmed & Quetta Gladiators—A Legacy That Lives On

Sarfaraz’s connection with Quetta is special. He was there from PSL’s very first season in 2016 and led the team to its only title in 2019. His numbers with the bat were solid too—1525 runs in 86 matches at an average of 29.32, including seven half-centuries.

However, the 2023 season saw a shift in leadership, with Rilee Rossouw replacing him as captain. Many believed that was the end of his Quetta journey, but fate had other plans.

Sarfaraz Ahmed may not be wearing the Gladiators’ jersey on the field, but his presence will still be felt in the dugout. With PSL 10 around the corner, it will be interesting to see how he adapts to this new role and what impact he can make.
