Meta Reveals Simplest Way to Earn Money from Facebook

Source: Umet

Facebook has rolled out a new feature to assist creators in making money from their publicly viewed stories. The feature comes as part of Facebook’s continual content monetisation programme, introduced last year for offering creators even more ways through which they can earn money based on their content.

How It Works

The new tool enables creators to earn money on content they’ve already created. For instance, if a user posts a recipe tutorial video or reel and shows a part of it as a story, he/she can now earn money according to the number of views on their story. Surprisingly, this feature isn’t reserved for high-quality material alone—simple moments shared as stories are also eligible for money-making.

Unlike some platforms that require a specific view threshold to start earning, Facebook’s approach focuses on content performance. The better the story performs, the more the creator earns. Meta, Facebook’s parent company, aims to motivate creators to keep producing engaging content for the platform through this initiative.

Who Can Benefit?

For now, the feature is only open to creators who are already on Facebook’s content monetisation programme. They don’t have to do anything extra to turn on the new feature—story monetisation will be turned on for them automatically. But Meta is going to open up the programme to more users later this year.

The firm has also indicated that users who are not yet on the programme can show their interest by taking an invitation on Facebook’s monetisation website.

The Future of Facebook Monetisation

With this new functionality, Facebook is apparently trying to bring more creators on board by providing additional means of making money. As competition from other platforms such as TikTok and Instagram increases, Facebook’s approach to simplifying monetisation and making it more accessible could prove to be a powerful advantage.

The growth of this programme further down the line could possibly become an opportunity for a lot of potential creators to monetise what they already enjoy creating. When more people do join, Facebook’s creator ecosystem is likely to expand, increasing the platform’s appeal to both users and creators.

Muslims Molested Country-Wide During Holi: Is India Truly Secular?

Muslims Molested Country-Wide During Holi: Is India Truly Secular?

India’s Holi celebrations, known for their vibrant colours and joyous festivities, turned nightmarish for several Muslim families across the country this year. Reports of harassment, violence and even physical assault have surfaced, raising alarming questions about India’s commitment to secularism.

Targeted Attacks During Holi

In Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor district, a Muslim family was targeted by a mob during Holi festivities. Dilshad, his sister Sofia, and their mother were returning from a doctor’s visit when a group of men blocked their way, doused them with water and forcibly applied colours. Despite their protests, the harassment continued, accompanied by religious slogans. This wasn’t an isolated incident. Two burqa-clad Muslim women and another man attending a funeral were similarly attacked.

The state’s response has been inadequate. While some arrests were made, others, including those involved in assaulting a local journalist trying to intervene, went unpunished. It’s clear that law enforcement is struggling to address communal violence during a festival meant to celebrate harmony.

Violence Against Muslims in Gujarat

Similar incidents were reported in Gujarat, where auto-rickshaw driver Nawab Sultan was brutally assaulted by a mob after dropping off a passenger. His vehicle was set on fire while attackers hurled Islamophobic slurs at him. Though a police report was filed, the authorities’ apparent reluctance to charge the perpetrators with serious offenses highlights systemic bias.

Additionally, in cities like Aligarh and Sambhal, mosques were covered with tarpaulin sheets to prevent conflicts, a preventative measure that underscores the ever-present tension Muslims face during Holi.

The Bigger Picture

The repeated targeting of Muslims during Holi raises fundamental questions about India’s secular fabric. While Holi is intended to promote unity and joy, its misuse to harass and victimise minority groups is a blatant violation of India’s constitutional principles.

Read More: Sindh Government Announces Scholarships for Minority Students

India’s claim to be a secular state cannot be credible if its festivals are allowed to become tools of oppression. To truly uphold secularism, there must be accountability for such acts of violence, and stronger safeguards must be put in place to protect all citizens, regardless of their faith.

How to Purchase a Used Car?

How to Purchase a Used Car?

For some, buying a car is one of their biggest accomplishments, especially among possessions with monetary value. Sometimes, people spend their whole life’s savings on this. Unfortunately, though, not every car seller considers this. To them, it’s just business, and the only goal is profit maximisation, at the expense of buyers. This is why one must be cautious when buying a new car, especially a used car.

Car sellers will tell you that it’s only slightly used, “close to a zero-meter car,” and will manipulate you into believing their decades-old vehicle has only been used to sit at home. But you must understand the factors that come into play when buying a used car, so that no one can scam you.

So, how do you buy a second-hand car? Here’s everything you need to know before making a calculated decision.

How to Purchase a Used Car? Steps to Follow

There is no straightforward formula for this, but there are certain important steps that must not be skipped at all costs to avoid regrets later.

Step 1: Before Anything, Decide Your Budget and the Car Models

Before making up your mind to buy a second-hand car, don’t just immediately jump onto platforms like OLX or PakWheels to randomly look for anything. Yes, these are reliable platforms, but buying a pre-owned car or a car in general requires a lot of brainstorming.

You must pre-emptively decide on a budget and then look for all the models that fall within your budget. This way, you can use search filters more effectively. On platforms like PakWheels, where the user interface is specifically designed for used cars, the research process becomes much easier.

All you have to do is apply the price filter, set your desired budget, and see all the cars available in that price range. Alternatively, you can click on different price brackets and view the cars available in those ranges. This will give you an idea of the market price, so dealers won’t be able to exploit you.

A Word of Advice: While deciding on a budget, also ensure you consider additional costs like taxes and registration fees. This will give you an idea of the total expenditure that might be incurred, so there is no disappointment later on!

Step 2: Research and See What Cars Fulfil Your Requirements

Once you have a preliminary list and a rough idea of which used cars you can buy within your budget, you will now need to get more specific. Put your research skills to good use.

Ask yourself: what specific features do you want in your car? Things like fuel efficiency, cargo space, and resale value (these are just a few examples of possible requirements). Compare cars in the same category. There will be many options available, but being overwhelmed by them isn’t wise.

Always check online reviews and user experiences on PakWheels forums before finalising a model. Make a list of all the models you have decided on.

Step 3: Buying a Second-Hand Car and Visiting Sellers

Once the brainstorming is done and you have your list, you will now need to visit the dealers. For this step, you can either opt for online platforms like OLX, PakWheels, and CarFirst, which offer hundreds of car ads from sellers wishing to sell their cars. These ads contain a summary of the vehicle and the contact details of the seller.

Alternatively, if you prefer in-person dealings, you can visit car showrooms and shops that also sell used cars, such as those on Khalid bin Waleed Road or Jail Road in Karachi. People also post ads in Facebook groups or spread word of mouth, so make sure to ask your friends and relatives to check out car deals within your range.

Tip: Avoid dealing with middlemen (brokers), as they often inflate the prices of used cars.

Step 4: Contacting the Seller and Negotiating

Have all the details of the car owner or seller? Have you visited the showroom? Great! Now, you’ll need to deal with the seller. Always ask the dealer the following:

  • Ask about additional information regarding the car, such as exact mileage, availability of original documents/files, any known issues, accident history (if any), token tax up to date, etc.
  • Also, ask the owner or evaluate yourself whether there is a chance of any discount on the car price. But ensure that you do this face-to-face, as initially, people may not show any concessions because they aren’t sure if the person will buy their vehicle. Once the deal gets serious and the seller feels relieved, they may reasonably reduce the asking price to finalise the deal.

Some Safety Precautions: Remember to meet at a neutral place, and if you are meeting at the seller’s house or appointed place, take someone with you. Never go alone to meet the seller, and never carry cash—this is a golden rule. Ideally, bring someone along who can inspect the car, so you can make an informed decision.

Step 5: Get the Used Car Inspected and Verified

Once you’ve selected a vehicle and agreed on your ideal deal, it is highly advisable to get the vehicle inspected by a trusted mechanic, especially before buying second-hand cars. PakWheels also offers an inspection service where their team does all the verification for you.

If you are knowledgeable about cars, then inspect it yourself without hesitation. Here are some important things to check:

  • Original registration book and number plate
  • Challan and tax status
  • Accident history
  • Car mileage (don’t go with tampered odometers)
  • Engine condition

If the vehicle is a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) car, it is essential that you check and verify the Auction Sheet, which comes with every car imported from Japan.

Step 6: Always Take a Test Drive

Once you’ve selected a car, it’s essential that you take it for a test drive. This is the best way to ensure there’s no mismatch between what you were expecting and what you’ve got, and to ensure you aren’t getting scammed.

Always Take a Test Drive
Always Take a Test Drive

Through a thorough test drive (around 3-5 kilometres), you will be able to identify most flaws in the car and make an informed decision. Always check the following during your test drive:

  • Engine condition
  • Suspension and alignment
  • Interior condition
  • Tyres and brakes

Step 7: Check the Documents and Complete the Paperwork

Once both parties agree on a price, all the necessary documents must be assembled to complete the legal paperwork. Only with these certain documents will you be able to transfer the vehicle to your name:

  • Transfer of Ownership: Visit the Taxation Office with the seller to transfer the car to your name.
  • Sale Agreement (Stamp Paper): Write a sale deed mentioning the price, CNICs of both parties, and car details.
  • Original Registration Documents & Duplicate Key: Always ask for the original papers.
  • Verify Non-Custom Paid (NCP) Cars: Avoid buying smuggled (NCP) cars, especially in Balochistan or KP, as they are illegal.
  • Other Documents: Additionally, check the GD (goods declaration), BL (bill of lading), and Export Certificate.

A Heads Up: Double-check the chassis number with the one on the documents, and if there is any discrepancy, immediately stop pursuing the car. Also, check whether the book or file of the car is a duplicate, as this affects the price of the vehicle and may indicate fraud.

Step 8: Payment and Getting the Vehicle Transferred

If all goes well, the only thing left will be transferring the payment and getting the vehicle registered in your name.

Even now, don’t let your guard down and don’t make the mistake of paying the full amount in cash without a receipt. You can do this by paying the seller with a pay order made in their name. This way, there will be a record of the transaction.

Even after this, make sure to sign the Sale Receipt and Delivery Letter.

Most importantly, many people neglect to transfer the car immediately to their name after completing the payment. Know that, by doing this, the vehicle is not legally under your ownership, even if it’s in your garage. This act can have legal consequences in the future.

Follow these steps to get it transferred:

  • Register it under your name at the Excise Department.
  • Pay token tax online (Use the Excise & Taxation website).

Get Your Car Insured at All Costs

Not many people will tell you this, and even though it’s not among the above crucial steps, it’s advisable that you get your newly purchased vehicle insured. This will help cover future theft and accidents without putting a strain on your finances.

With the increasing accident and theft rates in the country, car insurance is essential; at least for a wise person. Popular insurance providers in Pakistan include Adamjee, EFU, and TPL Insurance. Take all precautionary measures and drive safely!

From Restaurant to Ramadan Table: A Culinary Wish Fulfilled by Infinix AI

From Restaurant to Ramadan Table: A Culinary Wish Fulfilled by Infinix AI

For years, Ramadan evenings at my home were filled with the comforting aromas of samosas, pakoras, and fruit chaat. Yet, deep down, I always wished for something different—to bring the magic of restaurant-style dishes to our family iftar. One evening, as I scrolled through my phone, I paused at a picture of my favorite butter chicken from a restaurant. The rich, creamy sauce and perfectly tender chicken made my mouth water.

“I wish I could make this at home,” I thought. But past attempts had taught me that some dishes seemed impossible to replicate. No matter how closely I followed online recipes, something always felt off—the balance of spices, the texture, the finishing touches. Frustration crept in, making me believe that true restaurant flavors were out of reach.

Then, I remembered Infinix AI on my NOTE 50 Series. With a mix of hope and curiosity, I snapped a picture of the dish. Within seconds, the AI analyzed the image and provided me with a precise recipe—down to the exact measurements, cooking times, and plating techniques. It was as if a professional chef had just handed me their secret formula.

Trusting the AI, I followed every step meticulously. As I plated the final dish, I held my breath—it looked just like the restaurant version. But the real test came when my family took their first bite.

This tastes exactly like the one we order! my brother exclaimed, his eyes wide with surprise.

That moment was pure joy. Thanks to Infinix AI, my long-time wish had come true. I no longer had to rely on guesswork or endless trial and error—just instant guidance leading to perfection. With the Infinix AI, restaurant-quality meals at home weren’t just possible—they were effortless. And this Ramadan, every iftar felt more special than ever before.

Pakistan Rejects Afghan Taliban’s Request to Extend Refugee Stay

Pakistan Rejects Afghan Taliban’s Request to Extend Refugee Stay

Pakistan has rejected a request from the Afghan Taliban to extend the stay of Afghan refugees. Kabul has been informed that Islamabad will proceed with its plan to deport all illegal migrants and Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders from 1 April.

On 7 March, Pakistan announced that ACC holders must leave the country by 31 March or face deportation. Around 800,000 Afghans hold ACCs, and after the deadline, they will be considered illegal residents.

“The Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Programme (IFRP) has been in place since 1 November 2023,” stated the Ministry of Interior. “All illegal foreigners and ACC holders must leave voluntarily before 31 March 2025. Deportations will begin from 1 April.”

Pakistan insists that Afghan migrants have had ample time to return. Despite diplomatic requests from the Taliban, officials confirmed that the decision is final and no extensions will be granted. Provincial authorities have been instructed to facilitate deportations.

Since November 2023, over 800,000 Afghans have been repatriated. However, Pakistan had previously allowed those registered with the UNHCR or holding ACCs to stay.

The Afghan government has raised concerns over forced deportations, claiming mistreatment of its nationals. Pakistan denies these accusations, urging the Taliban to create conditions that encourage voluntary returns.

Tensions between the two nations remain high. Pakistan has blamed Afghanistan for rising terrorist attacks, citing Afghan involvement in the recent incidents that took place in the country, including the attack on Bannu Cantonment.

Clashes at the Torkham border have further strained relations. Islamabad claims Afghanistan attempted to build a check post on Pakistani territory, leading to the border’s closure since 21 February. Authorities confirmed that deportations will also take place through Torkham.

Soccer Player Andrej Lazarov Among 59 Killed in Nightclub Fire

Soccer Player Andrej Lazarov Among 59 Killed in Nightclub Fire

Professional soccer player Andrej Lazarov, 25, has been confirmed among the victims of a nightclub fire in North Macedonia that killed at least 59 people and injured more than 155 others. The fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday, March 16, at Pulse nightclub in Kočani. Lazarov, who played for FC Shkupi, reportedly died from smoke inhalation while trying to rescue others.

FC Shkupi shared a statement on Facebook, saying, “With great pain and sorrow,” they announced Lazarov’s passing. The club praised his bravery, stating, “He showed courage and humanity until the very last moment.” They described his actions as a testament to his noble character and big heart, calling his loss a deep pain for the club, teammates and football community.

Imad Wasim Raises Question Over Decision To Play Babar Azam As Opener

imad-wasim-likely-comeback-in-fourth-new-zealand-t20i-babar-azam

Pakistan cricket is never short on debates, and the latest one revolves around the decision to promote Babar Azam to the opening slot in ODIs, drawing criticism from former all-rounder Imad Wasim, who doesn’t seem too happy with the experiment.

Babar Azam: An Opener or a Middle-Order Anchor?

Babar Azam has been Pakistan’s best ODI batter for years, playing a key role at No. 3. But for some reason, the team management decided to push him up the order, making him open alongside Fakhar Zaman in the recent tri-nation series and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The results? Not great. Babar managed scores of 10, 23, and 29 in the tri-series and followed it up with 64 and 23 in the Champions Trophy. For a player of his caliber, these numbers just don’t cut it.

Imad Wasim Questions the Move

Imad Wasim, known for his bold opinions, is the latest to question why Pakistan is fixing something that wasn’t broken.

“Nobody has achieved what Babar has in ODIs. He was doing great at No. 3, playing long innings and anchoring the team. So why would you suddenly make him open?” Imad asked.

And honestly, he has a point.

Babar’s strength has always been building an innings, controlling the middle overs, and accelerating when needed. Pushing him to open means exposing him early to new-ball bowlers and changing the dynamic of Pakistan’s batting lineup.

Do We Not Have Enough Openers?

Imad Wasim didn’t stop there. He also questioned Pakistan’s inability to find proper openers instead of forcing a middle-order batter into the role.

“Don’t we have any other opener in the whole country? Sometimes, I fail to understand the logic behind these decisions. Instead of moving forward, we are going backwards,” he added.

Again, a valid concern. Pakistan has always produced quality openers, yet somehow, the management feels the need to experiment with a proven No. 3 batter instead of backing specialists for the job.

Mohammad Rizwan Chooses Club Cricket Over National T20

mohammad-rizwan-chooses-club-cricket-over-national-t20

In a move that has left fans scratching their heads, Pakistan’s ODI captain Mohammad Rizwan was recently spotted playing club cricket in Peshawar instead of competing in the ongoing National T20 Cup.

And yes, this is happening right after Pakistan’s disastrous Champions Trophy campaign, where the team failed to win a single match and crashed out at the bottom of Group A.

Rizwan’s Surprise Decision

After Pakistan’s embarrassing Champions Trophy exit, Mohammad Rizwan took some time off to perform Umrah. That makes sense—players often take spiritual breaks, especially after tough tournaments.

But what happened next caught everyone by surprise. Instead of returning to professional cricket in the National T20 Cup, Rizwan was seen playing club cricket in Peshawar. And not just that—he reportedly smashed an unbeaten century.

His pictures and videos quickly went viral on social media, sparking debates among fans. Why is the country’s ODI captain playing club cricket instead of a national tournament?

Left Out of the New Zealand T20I Series

It’s also worth noting that Rizwan was not picked for the ongoing T20I series against New Zealand. The selectors decided to rest senior players, possibly looking to groom younger talent after the Champions Trophy failure.

Pakistan’s start to the five-match series wasn’t great either. In the first T20I, they were bowled out for just 91 runs, their lowest total while batting first in T20Is. New Zealand chased it down with ease, losing just one wicket and sealing the win with a massive 59 balls to spare.

That loss only fueled frustration among fans. With Pakistan struggling, some are now questioning whether Rizwan’s absence from the team was the right call.

What Does This Mean for Mohammad Rizwan?

Rizwan’s decision to play club cricket instead of domestic T20 has sparked mixed reactions. Some believe he’s just staying in touch with the game, while others see it as a lack of commitment to professional cricket.

One thing is certain—this move will raise eyebrows among selectors and PCB officials. Pakistan is already in a transition phase, and with the T20 World Cup on the horizon, questions over leadership and team selection will only get louder.

Corbin Bosch Faces PCB Legal Heat Over PSL Snub – What’s Going On?

Corbin Bosch Banned from PSL for One Year After Choosing IPL
Corbin Bosch Banned from PSL for One Year After Choosing IPL

South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch has landed in hot water after reportedly backing out of his Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 contract with Peshawar Zalmi to chase an opportunity with Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL. And the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) isn’t happy about it.

Why is PCB Taking Legal Action?

Bosch was drafted by Peshawar Zalmi in January in the Diamond category, meaning he was expected to play a big role in the tournament. But reports suggest he is now looking to replace injured Lizaad Williams in MI’s squad for IPL 2025, which runs from March 22 to May 25.

This move hasn’t gone unnoticed. The PCB has served Bosch with a legal notice for breaching his PSL contract.

“South Africa’s Corbin Bosch has been served a legal notice by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) alleging breach of the all-rounder’s contractual obligations.”

The notice, sent through his agent, demands an explanation for his withdrawal and warns of possible consequences.

What’s at Stake for Bosch?

If Corbin Bosch does go ahead with his Mumbai Indians deal, it could damage his reputation and future prospects in leagues like the PSL. The PCB has made it clear that players cannot just walk away from commitments, especially after being signed in a major draft.

On the flip side, his connection with MI Cape Town in SA20, where he played a key role in their title-winning campaign, might have influenced his decision. With Mumbai Indians looking to strengthen their seam-bowling all-rounder options, Bosch could see this as a golden opportunity.

Is This a Growing IPL-PSL Battle?

This incident once again brings up a bigger debate—the power struggle between PSL and IPL. We’ve seen similar cases before where players have prioritized the IPL over other leagues due to its massive financial incentives.

But will the PCB make an example out of Bosch? If they take strict action, it could send a message to players about honoring contracts in the PSL.

NASA Astronauts Stranded for Nine Months Set to Return

NASA Astronauts Stranded for Nine Months Set to Return

NASA astronauts Barry “Butch” Wilmore and Sunita “Suni” Williams will return to Earth on Tuesday evening after spending over nine months aboard the International Space Station (ISS). They were initially scheduled for a brief mission in June last year, but a propulsion malfunction in Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft prevented their return.

NASA confirmed their return in a statement on Sunday evening. They will travel back aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule, with splashdown expected off the Florida coast at 5:57 p.m. local time on Tuesday. NASA moved the return earlier than planned due to poor weather conditions later in the week. “The updated return target continues to allow the space station crew members time to complete handover duties while providing operational flexibility,” the agency stated.

Wilmore and Williams will be joined by NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov, who have completed their ISS missions. Hatch closure preparations will begin on Monday evening, and the return journey will be broadcast live. Their mission lasted longer than the usual six-month rotation but was shorter than NASA astronaut Frank Rubio’s 371-day stay in 2023. The world record remains with Russian cosmonaut Valeri Polyakov, who spent 437 days on the Mir space station.

Despite the unexpected extension, NASA provided them with extra supplies, including clothing and personal care items. The prolonged stay has attracted attention, with many expressing sympathy for the astronauts, who have been away from their families for almost a year. Their return marks the end of a major setback for Boeing’s Starliner program, which faces ongoing scrutiny over its reliability in future crewed missions.

Corbin Bosch Faces PCB Legal Action for PSL Withdrawal

Corbin Bosch Faces PCB Legal Action for PSL Withdrawal

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued a legal notice to South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch for allegedly breaching his HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) contract. The board announced this action on Sunday, stating that Bosch has been asked to justify his withdrawal from the league.

Bosch, 30, was picked by Peshawar Zalmi in the diamond category during the PSL 2025 draft in January. Reports suggest that he is considering leaving his PSL contract to join Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 as a replacement for injured pacer Lizaad Williams. “The 30-year-old Bosch was picked by Peshawar Zalmi in the Diamond category during the tenth edition of HBL PSL Player Draft, held in Lahore on 13 January. The legal notice was served through his agent and the player has been asked to justify his actions of withdrawing from his professional and contractual commitments,” the PCB stated. The board also warned of repercussions if he leaves the league and expects a response within the given timeframe.

Bosch has not made his IPL debut but was previously associated with Rajasthan Royals. He also played for MI Cape Town in the SA20 league, where he took 11 wickets in seven innings. If he joins Mumbai Indians, he will reunite with Ryan Rickelton and strengthen their all-rounder options alongside Hardik Pandya and Raj Bawa.

Vatican Releases First Image of Pope Francis in Hospital

Vatican Releases First Image of Pope Francis in Hospital

The Vatican on Sunday released the first image of Pope Francis in the hospital since his admission for double pneumonia earlier this month. The 88-year-old pontiff was taken to Rome’s Gemelli Hospital on February 14 with a severe respiratory infection, raising concerns about his health. Since then, he has been receiving medical care, with the Vatican providing updates on his condition.

In the newly released photograph, Pope Francis is seen seated in a hospital chapel, facing away from the camera, after celebrating Mass with other priests. The Holy See Press Office stated that he had concelebrated the Eucharist on Sunday morning.

Although the pope has been receiving oxygen as part of his treatment, the image suggests that he is now breathing on his own. However, he has yet to make any public appearances since his hospitalisation.

This is not the first time Pope Francis has faced health challenges. He has dealt with various medical issues, including knee problems that have affected his mobility. Despite his frail health, he continues to lead major Church events and address global concerns. There is no official confirmation on when he will be discharged, but Vatican officials have assured that he remains under close medical supervision.

Five Killed as Bus Plunges into Ravine in Azad Kashmir

At least five people died, and three others were injured after a bus skidded off an icy road and plunged into a deep ravine in Azad Kashmir’s Haveli district.

The vehicle was travelling from Kahuta to Rawalpindi when it lost control near Mahmood Gali due to snow and fog. The slippery road caused the bus to slide for several metres before tumbling hundreds of feet down the steep gorge, according to the investigating police.

Locals and rescue teams arrived quickly at the scene, retrieving bodies and helping the injured. The injured were taken to a nearby army hospital and a medical centre for treatment.

A video of the crash shows the bus skidding on the snow-covered road before losing control.

Government Introduces Bankruptcy Law to Support Businesses and Revive Industries

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, announced that the government will introduce a bankruptcy law to support businesses and revive struggling industries.

Speaking at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Khan assured that the government will consult the Chambers of Commerce before taking action against businesses. He emphasised the importance of restoring business confidence for economic growth.

Khan criticised excessive bureaucracy, stating that 29 departments regulate industries, making operations difficult. He highlighted Pakistan’s past economic success, recalling Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s praise for the country’s policies in 1993. Long-term strategies, he stressed, are essential for growth.

The markup rate has dropped from 22% to 12%, and the stock market is performing well. However, Khan believes the government must focus more on GDP growth and industrial expansion. While Pakistan remains engaged with the IMF, he praised the Prime Minister for lowering electricity costs and expressed hope for further interest rate reductions.

To attract investment, Khan proposed incentives for overseas Pakistanis to bring back their declared assets, worth about $30 billion.

LCCI President Mian Abuzar Shad raised concerns about rising gas, electricity and petrol prices. He urged the government to lower interest rates and reduce industrial land prices, which currently hinder expansion.

He also suggested promoting local vehicle assembly, cutting taxes on raw materials, and creating Special Economic Zones (SEZs) to boost industrial growth.

Facebook Monetisation Changes Leave Creators Struggling

Facebook Monetisation Changes Leave Creators Struggling
Facebook Monetisation Changes Leave Creators Struggling

Facebook’s recent monetisation policy changes have left many content creators struggling with sudden demonetisation, even without policy violations. Over the past 24 to 48 hours, numerous pages, including those using Facebook’s Rights Manager, have lost access to revenue streams.

Many users reported that their pages were demonetised without any notification. Despite following Facebook’s guidelines, they can no longer earn from stream ads, reel ads, photo posts, and story monetisation. Industry experts believe Facebook’s new content monetisation system may have caused this issue.

A major update in the policy restricts Pakistani bank accounts and tax details from monetisation. Page owners must now provide financial details from eligible countries like the US, UK, UAE, or India. To set up monetisation successfully, the bank account and tax details must belong to the same eligible country. Any mismatched or fake details could result in permanent payout disablement.

Incorrect financial information has already caused issues for creators in the past. If payouts enter verification mode and fail, Facebook disables monetisation permanently. Experts urge content creators to carefully review financial details before submitting them to avoid long-term payout problems.

While the update has disrupted earnings, creators can regain monetisation by ensuring compliance with Facebook’s new financial requirements. Staying informed about evolving policies and verifying financial details is now essential to avoid further issues.
