Cricket has a beautiful way of keeping its legends alive. This time, the upcoming Test series between New Zealand and England will carry extra meaning as it debuts the Crowe-Thorpe Trophy.
Named after the legendary Martin Crowe and Graham Thorpe, this trophy is more than just wood and polish. It’s a tribute to two remarkable cricketers who defined excellence, grit, and sportsmanship.
A Trophy with Stories to Tell
The Crowe-Thorpe Trophy isn’t just a symbol of competition; it’s a piece of history. Crafted from the bats of these legends, the trophy carries a slice of their greatness.
Martin Crowe’s bat? It’s the very one he used to score a century at Lord’s in 1994. On the other hand, Graham Thorpe’s contribution comes from the Kookaburra he wielded during his stunning back-to-back centuries against New Zealand in 1997.
These aren’t just bats; they’re tools that shaped iconic moments in cricket’s rich tapestry.
The unveiling, scheduled at Christchurch’s Hagley Oval, promises to be as special as the series itself. Martin Crowe’s sister, Deb Crowe, and former England captain Michael Atherton will present the trophy during the national anthem ceremony.
This moment will honor Crowe, remembered as New Zealand’s greatest batter, and Thorpe, celebrated for his determination and elegance.
Their careers were nothing short of stellar. Crowe scored 5444 Test runs at an average of 45.36, with 17 centuries to his name. Thorpe’s numbers were equally impressive, with 6744 runs at an average of 44.66, including 16 tons.
More Than Players, They Were Mentors
Crowe and Thorpe were more than just cricketers; they were mentors who shaped the careers of many, including players involved in this very series.
Joe Root, England’s batting maestro, shared his personal connection with Thorpe.
“What a great man,” Root said, reflecting on Thorpe’s impact. “He was someone I watched growing up, and later, I had the privilege to work with as a coach. The amount he put into my game is something I’ll always cherish.”
Root added with a chuckle, recalling Thorpe’s favorite story: “He’d often talk about his unbeaten 200 in Christchurch back in 2002, usually over a glass of sauvignon blanc.”
This series isn’t just about cricket; it’s about celebrating two lives that embodied the spirit of the game. Crowe and Thorpe weren’t just great players; they represented how cricket should be played—passionately, skillfully, and with respect.

This time, it’s over a censored photo that circulated on social media. The image shows her face wrapped in an unknown man’s arms, leading to speculation and extreme public scrutiny. Hareem is a public personality and she’s known for her bold statements and social media presence. As of right now, she hasn’t made any comments about the photograph but the controversy highlights her constant struggle with online harassment.
Hareem Shah’s Previous and Current Controversies
The famous TikTok star initially rose to fame by making TikTok in Pakistan. Her candid videos and association with public figures gained her massive attention. Over the past few years, she has been the centre of various controversies. From her sudden marriage announcements to her joining UK politics. It was recently revealed that she has been pursuing an LLB degree in London with support from the British government, including her housing and other expenses. Though she moved away over a year ago, her ties to Pakistan make her a frequent topic of discussion. She had become a popular topic of conversation after her marriage with Sindh PPP politician but she refused to share any details regarding their marriage.

Astronomers have just discovered an extraordinary newborn alien planet. It’s suspected that it was formed in just 3 million years. This is a remarkable achievement for the planet, given that the Earth took 10 to 20 million years to take shape. This finding is challenging traditional theories about how long planetary formation takes. This planet is located 520 light-years away in the Milky Way, and it orbits a young star that will evolve into an orange dwarf, cooler and less luminous than our Sun.
Alien Planet Becomes A Ground Breaking Discovery
This mystery planet is known as IRAS 04125+2902 b or TIDYE-1b. It is estimated to be 10 to 20 times the mass of Earth. Moreover, it circles its host star in just 8.8 days, that too at a distance much closer than Mercury is to the Sun. Researchers who are investigating this believe this planet originally formed further away and later migrated inward. This itself becomes a phenomenon that adds to the mystery of its creation.
Unlike our Earth, this exoplanet is less dense and has a diameter that is 11 times greater. A lack of understanding about its chemical composition leaves researchers questioning its structures and evolution.
The reason why this planet is revolutionary is because it challenges assumptions about how planets are typically formed. Planetary formations occur as gas and dust collapse into a spinning disk around a newborn star. Material from this disk then forms planets. But the inner regions dissipate quickly making it extremely difficult for massive planets to form near the stars. However, this rapid formation of IRAS 04125+2902 b challenges these theories. Scientists are now rethinking how and when planets can take shape.

The “Chill Guy” meme, an illustration of a humanoid brown dog exuding effortless calm, has captured hearts worldwide. Clad in a grey sweater, rolled-up blue jeans, and red sneakers, the character’s laid-back posture—hands tucked in pockets and a subtle smirk on its face—embodies a carefree attitude that has resonated with millions online.
First introduced by artist Philip Banks on October 4, 2023, the character was described as “the chill guy that lowkey doesn’t give a shi*.” Since then, it has evolved into a symbol of composure and simplicity, becoming a viral sensation. From TikTok to X, memes featuring the Chill Guy have drawn countless laughs and sparked widespread relatability. One popular caption reads: “No relationship, no talking stage, no sneaky link. I’m just a chill guy.”
Source: Distractify
From Memes to Markets
The Chill Guy’s popularity has even infiltrated the financial world, with the creation of a cryptocurrency token, CHILLGUY, which reportedly reached a market cap of over $405 million. Major brands like Sprite Europe and the NFL have also leveraged the meme in marketing campaigns, further cementing its cultural significance.
Despite the excitement, Banks has taken a firm stance against the unauthorised use of his creation for crypto-related projects. In a video, he declared, “I will never permit to use my art for anything crypto-related.” Banks is now pursuing copyright protections and takedown notices for profit-driven uses of the meme.
At its core, the Chill Guy meme resonates because it reflects a universal desire to remain unbothered amidst life’s chaos. Barstool Sports described the character as a mirror for anyone who embodies a calm and collected vibe. Social media posts echo this sentiment, with captions like, “When she yells at you for forgetting something, but you’re just a chill guy enjoying your day.”
The Chill Guy’s appeal lies in his ability to handle stress with grace and humour, providing logical advice and radiating positivity. His adaptable, in-the-moment nature inspires people to embrace life without overthinking, making him a symbol of balance and optimism in a fast-paced world.
A Cultural Icon in the Making
The Chill Guy is more than a meme; he’s a cultural icon representing calmness and composure in modern life. While his creator battles to protect his rights, the character continues to spread joy and relatability online. The meme’s meteoric rise underscores how a simple, chill vibe can connect with people universally, offering a reminder to stay cool no matter what life throws at you.

Australia is on the brink of implementing a world-first law aimed at banning children under 16 from using social media, marking a decisive step in addressing online safety concerns. Introduced by Communications Minister Michelle Rowland, the proposed legislation targets platforms like TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat, Reddit, X, and Instagram, with fines of up to AU$50 million (USD 33 million) for failing to enforce the restrictions.
Rowland emphasised that the bill seeks to redefine the role of social media in young Australians’ lives, stating: “This is about protecting young people, not isolating them.” Government research revealed that 95% of Australian caregivers rank online safety as one of their toughest parenting challenges. Shockingly two-thirds of teens aged 14 to 17 are exposed to harmful content, including violence, drug abuse, and self-harm.
Source: Reuters
A Bold Move with Strong Political Backing
The legislation has garnered widespread political support. Social media companies will have a year to implement the age restrictions once the bill is passed. Platforms would also be required to destroy personal data collected for age verification unless users explicitly consent to its retention.
Rowland defended the bill against criticisms of overreach, stating that it does not target messaging apps, online games, or educational platforms, as these lack the algorithm-driven content manipulation present in social media. “This is about supporting children’s health and wellbeing, and letting parents know we’re in their corner,” she added.
The proposal has sparked debate among child welfare experts and digital industry advocates. Critics argue the ban could isolate 14 and 15-year-olds from their established online communities, pushing them toward unregulated platforms. Sunita Bose, managing director of Digital Industry Group Inc. (DIGI), warned, “A blunt ban doesn’t encourage companies to improve safety. It may drive young users to darker, less safe spaces.”
To address concerns over implementation, the government has contracted the British-led Age Check Certification Scheme to explore age verification technologies like age estimation and inference. These tools aim to determine users’ ages without infringing on their privacy.
Beyond Social Media
The legislation is part of a broader effort to protect young Australians online. Alongside the social media ban, the government is exploring measures to prevent those under 18s from accessing online pornography.
While Australia’s bold approach to online safety has sparked global interest, it also raises significant questions. Will this legislation set a new global standard for regulating tech giants, or will it create unforeseen challenges for both users and platforms? As Parliament prepares to vote, the world watches closely.

Bluesky, a rising social media platform, is gaining significant traction as users flee Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter) in the wake of Donald Trump’s presidential election. This shift has put Bluesky on a direct collision course with Meta’s Threads, which had been vying to capture the disillusioned social media audience.
Since the election, Bluesky’s daily user base in the US and UK has surged by 300%, reaching 3.5 million active users, according to Similarweb. This remarkable growth comes as journalists, academics, and left-leaning politicians abandon X, citing its diminished content moderation under Musk’s ownership. Meanwhile, Threads, which initially held a significant lead, now finds itself only 1.5 times larger than its smaller rival.
Source: N2 Herald
Meta’s Missteps and Bluesky’s Advantage
Meta, led by CEO Mark Zuckerberg, has faced criticism for reducing the visibility of political content across its platforms, including Threads. This approach, aimed at steering clear of divisive debates, has left Threads ill-equipped to meet the demand for real-time, politically charged conversations—a niche Bluesky has effectively filled.
Bluesky, initially funded by Twitter under Jack Dorsey, has positioned itself as a decentralized alternative to X. Its ability to curate “starter packs” of recommended accounts and foster focused communities has resonated with users seeking a return to the personalized, real-time engagement that X once offered. However, the platform has grappled with growing pains, including frequent outages and questions about its long-term business model.
Source: CFC
Threads’ Countermeasures
In a bid to regain lost ground, Meta recently introduced custom feeds on Threads, allowing users to follow specific topics or personalities—a feature Bluesky has offered for months. Despite Threads amassing 275 million users globally and attracting over 15 million new sign-ups in November alone, experts argue that its timeline algorithm, which prioritises engaging content over real-time updates, has alienated users seeking immediacy.
Katie Harbath, a former Meta elections policy director, notes that Meta faces a critical decision: either reintroduce political content to compete with Bluesky or risk losing its relevance in this domain.
Bluesky’s rapid growth underscores the demand for platforms catering to niche communities and real-time interaction. However, sustaining this momentum will require addressing technical challenges and solidifying its revenue model. For Meta, the challenge lies in balancing its expansive user base with the need to adapt Threads for dynamic, politically charged conversations.
As the social media landscape evolves, Bluesky’s rise highlights a shift away from monolithic platforms like Meta and X toward smaller, more agile competitors. Whether this trend endures depends on how well these platforms navigate the delicate balance between growth, user experience, and monetisation.

India thumped Australia by a colossal 295 runs in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth, reclaiming the top spot in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) standings.
The match was nothing short of a rollercoaster. After being bundled out for a modest 150 runs in the first innings, India seemed to be staring down the barrel. But in true Indian cricketing style, they clawed back into the contest.
A Remarkable Fightback
The turning point came when India’s bowlers restricted Australia to 104, earning a slender but vital 46-run lead. From there, the stage was set for a batting masterclass.
Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and seasoned campaigner Virat Kohli stepped up when it mattered the most. Their heroics powered India to a massive 487 runs in the second innings, leaving Australia with a mountain to climb.
India’s comeback story also had contributions from KL Rahul, who scored 77 crucial runs in the second innings after a slow start with 26 in the first. His performance all but solidified his spot in the XI, even as senior players Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill prepare to return.
Chasing an impossible 534-run target, Australia folded for 238 in the final session of day four. Despite a steady start, their innings unraveled against India’s relentless bowling attack.
Jasprit Bumrah, leading from the front, bagged 3-42 in the second innings, taking his match tally to eight wickets. He was ably supported by Mohammed Siraj, who picked up three wickets of his own. Together, they dismantled Australia’s hopes of a comeback.
WTC Standings: The New Leader
This emphatic win catapulted India to the top of the WTC standings, with a points percentage (PCT) of 61.11. Australia, the previous leaders, slipped to second with a PCT of 57.69.
But the job is far from done. To secure a place in the WTC final, India must win three of the remaining four Tests. A clean sweep (5-0) or even a 4-1 series victory would guarantee their ticket. Anything less, and their fate will rest on how other teams perform in the championship.
As the series moves to Adelaide, the stakes couldn’t be higher. With star players set to return and confidence soaring, India looks poised to capitalize on this momentum.
But cricket is unpredictable, and Australia won’t take this loss lying down. One thing’s for sure: the Border-Gavaskar Trophy has just begun, and it’s already delivering the drama we all love.

Lockdowns Cost Pakistan an Astounding Rs. 190 Billion Loss Daily, Says Finance Minister
The economy of Pakistan loses Rs. 190 billion a day as a result of protests or government actions, such as the recent closure of motorways and highways. The closures were implemented ahead of a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest march in Islamabad, causing major disruptions in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the Islamabad Capital Territory. The government offered “repair work” as the official reason for the closures.
Pakistan Loses Rs. 190 Billion Daily Due to Govt’s Lockdowns
Consequently, the shutdowns have had a significant impact on multiple sectors, including transportation, healthcare, retail, and telecommunications. Businesses and individuals who rely on daily pay were seriously impacted as output, consumption, and exports suffered. The shutdown disrupted economic activity, resulting in significant financial losses across sectors and services.
Moreover, the Ministry of Finance prepared an internal report for the federal cabinet about the losses due to the PTI’s call for jamming Pakistan in October. The report states that “current unrest affects society, the economy, and politics in the long term.”
The Ministry of Finance predicts daily losses amounting to a staggering amount of Rs. 189 billion, or around 0.6% of the quarterly GDP. This includes Rs. 144 billion in nominal GDP, Rs. 16 billion in reduced exports, and Rs. 26 billion in FBR tax revenue. Additionally, foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows are expected to drop by Rs. 3 billion each day. The shutdown has also hindered GDP growth, resulting in a daily loss of Rs. 144 billion.
Long-Term Economic Consequences
The Ministry of Finance has cautioned that the disruptions could have a long-term impact on Pakistan’s economic growth. Supply chain disruptions are expected to raise expenses and cause higher food inflation, therefore worsening the country’s economic problems.
With lower FBR tax collections and more government spending, the budget deficit and financing gap are expected to expand, affecting the overall financial situation.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, also known as “Ending Violence Against Women’s Day,” is a global event observed every year on November 25. It serves as a poignant reminder of the violence faced by women worldwide and the urgent need to address this crisis. Primarily, the day calls for action to eliminate gender-based violence and highlights the importance of creating a world where women and girls can live free from violence.
The Global Crisis of Gender-Based Violence
In 2023, violence against women reached a horrifying climax, with at least 51,100 women murdered by their relatives and spouses. This meant that one woman was killed every ten minutes.
Violence Against Women and Girls: An Ongoing Challenge
Despite global awareness, violence against women and girls goes largely underreported due to the stigma, silence, and lawlessness that surrounds it. According to the UN, this violence remains a major obstacle to attaining equality, peace, and progress. The Day, therefore, serves as a reminder that eliminating violence against women and girls is crucial to ensuring that no one falls behind in the pursuit of a just and equal world.
The Role of “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence”
The first Women’s Global Leadership Institute which was organised in 1991, officially recognised International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. During the event, activists launched the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign. This campaign begins on November 25 and continues until December 10, which is Human Rights Day. These 16 days represent the relationship between gender-based violence and human rights, to encourage individuals and organisations to take action and fight towards a future where women and girls are protected from harm.
Ending Violence Against Women’s Day
The Mirabal Sisters: Symbols of Resistance
Patria, Minerva, and Maria Teresa Mirabal, known as Las Mariposas (The Butterflies), were heroic activists in the Dominican Republic who campaigned against the brutal dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo in the 1950s and 60s. On November 25, 1960, they were assassinated for their opposition to the regime, making them martyrs for human rights and women’s liberation. In recognition of their sacrifice, the United Nations declared November 25 the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, keeping their legacy as symbols in the struggle against gender-based violence alive.
The UN established the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women in 2000, emphasising the significance of global efforts to address this epidemic. While great progress has been made, much more work has to be done to build a world in which violence against women is no longer allowed. The Mirabal sisters’ legacy, as well as the ongoing work of individuals and organisations around the world, remind us that eliminating gender-based violence is critical to ensuring equality, peace, and human rights for all women and girls.

Ivory Coast etched its name in cricket history, albeit not in the way anyone would wish, as they crumbled for a jaw-dropping total of seven against Nigeria in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa Qualifier Group C match. Yes, just seven runs.
This now stands as the lowest total ever in men’s T20Is, breaking the previous record of 10 runs, jointly held by Isle of Man and Mongolia.
Before this extraordinary collapse, the home team Nigeria lit up the ground with an incredible batting performance. Their top order put on a show, piling up a mammoth 271/4 in the allotted 20 overs.
Selim Salau was the star of the innings, smashing a scintillating 112 off 53 balls, peppered with 13 fours and two sixes. His remarkable effort ended with a tactical “retired out.”
Supporting acts came from opener Sulaimon Runsewe (50) and middle-order batter Isaac Okpe (65 not out), both of whom kept the runs flowing at an electrifying pace.
Ivory Coast’s Nightmare
When Ivory Coast came out to chase, no one could have predicted what was about to unfold. Left-arm spinner Isaac Danladi and pacer Prosper Useni wreaked havoc, each bagging three wickets to dismantle the visitors’ batting line-up.
It wasn’t just a collapse; it was an absolute implosion. Six Ivorian batters registered ducks. Their top-scorer? Ouattara Mohamed, who managed four runs before being dismissed in the first over. Three others—Mimi Alex, wicketkeeper Maiga Ibrahim, and Dje Claude—scored a solitary run each.
Incredibly, this was the first time a team in men’s T20Is failed to reach double digits. The innings lasted just 7.3 overs, leaving cricket fans stunned and statisticians scrambling to update their records.
Nigeria’s 264-run victory wasn’t just a statement; it was historic. It now ranks as the third-largest margin of victory in men’s T20Is, trailing only Zimbabwe’s 290-run demolition of Gambia and Nepal’s 273-run thrashing of Mongolia earlier this year.
The Bigger Picture
While such one-sided matches can feel surreal, they’re also a testament to how cricket is evolving globally. Teams like Nigeria are making significant strides, showcasing their potential on the international stage. On the flip side, games like these highlight the gap between emerging cricket nations and established sides.
For Ivory Coast, it’s a painful day to reflect upon but also an opportunity to rebuild. Every great cricketing nation has had its share of tough days. With proper support and development, perhaps this could be the moment that sparks their resurgence.
Cricket is unpredictable, but one thing’s for sure—days like these remind us why we love the game. Records tumble, surprises unfold, and history is made, even if it leaves one team on the wrong side of the story.

In Pakistan, we often hear about the abundance of top-notch talent of cricket talent in our domestic circuit. Fans and media alike buzz with excitement, claiming our backups are ready to shine at the international level.
But when these players finally get their chance, many fail to make the impact expected of them. Why? The answer lies not in the talent pool but in how we nurture, manage, and introduce this talent to international cricket.
Pakistan’s recent performances tell the story. A 3-0 whitewash in a T20I series against Australia, followed by an 80-run loss (via DLS) to Zimbabwe in the first ODI on their tour, paints a grim picture.
Chasing a modest target of 206, Pakistan cricket team crumbled to 60-6 before the rain intervened. On paper, we’ve got players who have dominated the domestic scene. But on the field, many of them seem out of their depth.
Take Kamran Ghulam (29) and Sahibzada Farhan (28), two domestic stalwarts. While Kamran scored a century on his Test debut against England last month, he’s struggled to maintain consistency. Farhan, despite years of experience, looked completely lost at the international level.
Even our younger talents, like Haseebullah Khan and Irfan Khan, who are just 21, show promise but still appear raw. Haseebullah has all the makings of a future star, and Irfan could become a dependable middle-order hitter. But for now, they seem unpolished—players thrown into the deep end before learning to swim.
The Indian Contrast
Contrast this with India, where young players are not only stepping up but excelling on the international stage. In the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, India fielded four players under 25: Yashasvi Jaiswal (22), Devdutt Padikkal (24), Dhruv Jurel (23), and debutant Harshit Rana (22).
Yashasvi Jaiswal’s stunning 161 in the second innings led India to victory, showcasing not just his talent but also his composure. The others contributed in smaller but significant ways, proving they belong at this level. What’s striking is their confidence—these players don’t look like rookies.
The difference? India’s system. Their players are prepared for the rigors of international cricket through a robust domestic structure, top-notch academies, and a clear development pathway.
Learning on the Job vs. Being Ready
In Pakistan, it’s a different story. Players often earn international caps based on a few standout performances in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) or domestic matches. Media hype and fan pressure play a huge role, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) frequently caves in.
But instead of debuting when they’re truly ready, our players are thrown into the deep end, expected to learn and develop on the job. The result? Inconsistent performances, shattered confidence, and a revolving door of players in and out of the team.
India, on the other hand, ensures their players are polished before they step onto the big stage. Domestic cricket isn’t just a stepping stone; it’s a testing ground where players prove they can handle all formats. By the time they debut, they’re already mentally and technically prepared.
The issue isn’t the lack of talent in Pakistan—it’s how we handle it. The PCB needs to focus on building a stronger domestic structure and creating a clear pathway for players to transition from domestic to international cricket.
Fans and the media also need to understand that international caps aren’t prizes to be handed out based on hype. It takes time, patience, and hard work to turn raw talent into consistent performers.
Until we shift our mindset and focus on proper development, the cycle will continue: hyped debuts, underwhelming performances, and the never-ending search for the next big thing.

Hackers have targeted The Real World, an online course founded by controversial influencer Andrew Tate, leaking data of nearly 800,000 users. The breach, which was revealed on Thursday, exposed sensitive information including email addresses, chat logs, and server data.
The Data Breach
The hackers reportedly gained access to over 600 servers. After doing so, they revealed data including 325,000 unique email addresses and chat logs from various users. Originally named Hustler’s University, The Real World charges $50 per month for training in areas such as fitness, finance, and e-commerce. “Money making is a skill,” the website states, “We will teach you how to master it.”
How the Hackers Made Their Presence Known
In an act of protest, the attackers filled the platform’s chatroom with inappropriate emojis, including a transgender flag and AI-generated graphics ridiculing Andrew Tate. Additionally, the hackers took advantage of the flaws in the platform’s security, enabling them to upload data, delete attachments, crash clients, and temporarily ban users. The breach demonstrated the platform’s inadequate security measures, which the attackers referred to as “hilariously insecure.”
Motivated by hacktivism, the hackers criticised The Real World’s inadequate security system. Primarily, Hacktivism is defined as hacking that is motivated by political or cultural reasons, which aims to protest and bring attention to perceived injustices. What’s more, the attackers disclosed the platform’s faults while sharing the compromised data with organisations such as HaveIBeenPwned and DDoSecrets, a journalistic collective that hosts leaked public interest information.
Subsequently, the incident has raised several concerns about users’ privacy and security on The Real World and other platforms. Consumers fall victim to identity theft, spam, and other harmful activities as exposed email addresses and chat data spread online. The incident serves as a poignant reminder of the dangers connected with online platforms that handle sensitive data without adequate security measures in place.

Apple fans are split over the 2024 black Friday deals. With Black Friday just around the corner, Apple fans are in a frenzy over the tech giant’s 2024 promotional plans. Instead of offering direct discounts, Apple has stuck to its traditional gift card deals. As usual, Apple has bundled gift cards with their worth ranging from $25 to $200 with their products. While some enthusiasts appreciate the deal, others are relatively disappointed because other retailers are offering more immediate savings.
Apple Offers A Mix Of Deals And Disappointments
The company is offering gift cards with a bunch of its products. Buyers of the iPhone 15, iPhone SE or AirPods can receive up to $75 in gift cards, while purchases of the M3 and M2 MacBook Air come with a generous $200 card. Other products, like iPads and Apple Watches, also qualify for gift cards between $25 and $100. Loyalists see this as a practical way to save on upcoming Apple purchases, turning small wins into long-term value.
However, critics have argued that this makes the entire experience a little less exciting than direct price cuts. Apple’s resellers like Amazon and Best Buy are undercutting Apple by offering real discounts on coveted products like the M4 Mac mini, MacBook Pro, and iMac. These deals provide instant savings and have gathered the attention of potential customers quicker than Apple’s gift cards ever could.
Moreover, the lack of deals around Apple’s more frequently bought products has made customers feel unappreciated. They are disappointed that this tech giant gave up on the opportunity to reward its loyal customers with this sale.
Despite the nagging, Apple’s gift card promotion continues to attract mixed reactions. For some, it’s a thoughtful addition to their Apple ecosystem, while others find it completely useless compared to the deep discounts offered by competitors. As black Friday approaches, customers are likely to be more vigilant of discounts and compare prices better.

Madiha mentioned that during her career, she never saw any positive representation of relationships, especially in Pakistani dramas.
Madiha Iftikhar, a known personality in the Pakistani drama industry, went out with some great performances during the 14-15 years of her career. However, in a recent interview with Fuchsia Magazine, she shared her reasons behind opting out of the drama industry back in 2015.
Regret Over Lack of Positive Representation
Madiha mentioned that during her career, she never saw any positive representation of relationships, especially in Pakistani dramas. She regrets the fact that while international media is highly inclusive and depicts different aspects of life, the Pakistani industry has not done so in a credible way.
Watch here;
Specifically, she said there was a lack of portrayal of strong, healthy relationships, especially in families, and there was little or no representation of differently-abled people.
Personal Experience with Disabilities
Madiha said, “My father has been very inspirational to me. He is a differently-abled person and cannot hear. He made me and my siblings learn sign language.
He believes that being deaf doesn’t mean doors should be closed and not entered.” Still, Madiha remarked, “The Pakistani industry does not know that. There are so many toxic relationships in our dramas, and their negativity reduces the worth of one’s relationship.”
Disappointment with Industry’s Focus on Negativity
The actress said that she would even write and submit scripts, about people struggling with disabilities, but they would modify them to place focus on the negative, similar ones: jealousy, hatred, and family conflicts. Madiha felt very hurt by these modifications, as she was only left with some negativity.
Decision to Leave
Ultimately, Madiha’s frustration with the industry’s approach to relationships and characters led her to leave the industry in 2015. She admitted that she could no longer enjoy roles that focused on negativity, constant emotional distress, and unrealistic portrayals of society. Madiha confessed that she didn’t believe the industry would change anytime soon, leading to her decision to step away and find peace elsewhere.
