Pakistan’s “biggest media infrastructure” till date “BOL Network” has taken the entire media circuit by storm with its mega-entry in the industry. BOL has provoked an uproar with its mantra of bringing a magnanimous “Media revolution” to Pakistan’s media scene. Just 3 days to its launch and channels have started feeling the heat already. As BOL is now eyeing all prominent Media Moguls in the business to make them a part of the house of BOL, we have compiled a list of some of the news anchors who are most likely to join BOL.

Already, the leading televangelist Amir Liaquat and the high-profile media legend Mubasher Luqman have been hired by BOL Network.

Let’s take a look at some of the potential media anchors and journalists who are likely to join Team BOL and be a part of its revolutionary ride.

1. Shahid Masood

Through out his career, Dr. Shahid Masood has hopped from channel to channel. From ARY to GEO, PTV to Express News, and Royal TV to News One: he does not seem to stick to one place for long. With a ban on Live With Dr. Shahid Masood on ARY, BOL could soon be Dr. Masood’s next stop.

5. Waseem Badami

Waseem Badami joined BOL Network when it first aired back in 2014. Badami, who rose to fame with hard-hitting political talk show 11th Hour, left ARY in October 2014 to join the upcoming media network, BOL.

However, in April 2015, due to some conflicts with the upper management, Badami quit BOL and rejoined ARY Network. Can he rejoin BOL Network now it’s in full swing? Only time will tell.

6. Shahzeb Khanzada

Khanzada rose to fame with his show “To the point” on Express News. Currently affiliated with GEO TV, he can be the next in line to join the channel.

Mother of two, Dr. Ghina is one of the few devoted female surgeons of Pakistan, setting a great example for the upcoming female generation by breaking the common stereotype that the working women are labelled with.

It is said that when a woman is working she has a hard time managing her work & family simultaneously but a quick look at Dr. Ghina life’s is proving this common perception wrong.

For women in Pakistan education sometimes takes a back seat which was never the case with Dr. Ghina as her parents wanted her to join the field of medicine which she did and through their support she is currently regarded as one of the best surgeons in Pakistan.

Dr. Ghina specializes in Breast and Colon Cancer surgery, she completed her education from Baqai Medical, trained at the Aga Khan University and currently heads the Post Graduate Medical Education Department at Indus Hospital.

No doubt, being a surgeon requires full time attention and devotion and to be on the track Dr. Ghina chose her professional life over her social life. Being a proud Pakistani woman she attributes her success to both her parents who stood by her side in through thick & thin.

Dr. Ghina strongly believes in Almighty’s plans and instills the same values in her children. Despite being a very busy person she manages to help her daughters in their studies. Her daughters are always in an awe of their amazing mother and her preference to spend time with them regardless of being overworked.

Dr. Shamsi feels blessed and happy to have a supportive family which respects her decisions. As content as she is to have an understanding family, she is also very glad to work in an environment where she’s comfortable. Her work helps her be a part of the ever progressive women of Pakistan and she’s proud of it.

Times released the list of 30 most influential teenagers of 2016 on 19th of October. They consider people from diverse backgrounds, receiving praise for various subjects, and who manage to acquire all sorts of praise for their work. This year’s list featured teens from all across the globe, living in many different countries, some of our very own!

Making our country very proud, Malala Yousufzai and Sumail Hassan, were a part of the list.

Everyone by now has heard of Malala and her inspiring story when she was shot in the head by the Taliban in 2012. Aside from that, she is a female rights activist and the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate at the age of 17.

She was awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize two years ago and now that she is nineteen years old, she has not stopped advocating for the education of young girls and women empowerment. She has co-founded the Malala fund to provide girls the education that they deserve, with up to 12 years of schooling. She recently urged world leaders to set aside $1.4 billion this year for the education of young refugees.

Another influential 17-year-old Pakistani teen, Sumail Hassan, has also made it on the list. Originally from Karachi, this young man is a competitive video gamer who earned up to a million dollars playing. He is known as a legend in the ever growing world of e-sports.

He even talked about a time when he was seven years old and sold his bike just to play some arcade games at a cafe and from then his addiction to gaming began. He is known to be on a skill level of Michael Jordan and his favorite game is apparently ‘Dota 2’.

He recently even bought his family a house that is worth over $2.3 million.

There were many notable teens that were presented this accolade including Maddie Ziegler, Sasha and Malia Obama, Gaten Matarrazo from ‘Stranger Things’, Jaden Smith and more!

TV One’s Seeta Bagri talks about inter-faith harmony and religious tolerance   

With an aim to promote religious harmony in the country, the leading television channel, TV One, has teamed up with renowned actor Adnan Siddiqui for Seeta Bagri – a drama serial based on a life of a Hindu girl.

Shot in actual locations, Seeta Bagri gives a sneak peak to the lives of monitories residing in the country showing the flamboyant festivities of Hindu culture.

Written and directed by Iqbal Hosain, the drama has an ensemble cast included Sarwat Gillani, Bushra Ansari, Qawi Khan, Jibran, Shameen Khan, Shabbir Jan and Hasan Niazi.

Encapsulating the life of a Pakistani Hindu girl, the drama shows the trails and triumphs of Seeta and how her Muslim friends stand by her side during turbulent times. As a strong advocate of women education, Seeta gives complementary teaching classes to underprivileged girls of her community.

The drama has elements of romance passion, hidden desires and revenge beautifully immersed into the story making Seeta Bagri the much-anticipated drama serial of the year.

Actor turned producer Adnan Siddiqui while talking about the drama said that he considered it as a CSR responsibility to invest in a story that would send out a positive message to the viewers.

“As it’s my first production I want to take on a project which is not only different but has beautiful message embed into it. I strongly believe that one shouldn’t be different but with a class of difference and I have done the same with this drama,” he said.

While it was not easy for Adnan Siddiqui to invest his money in a project based on minorities, the enduring support of TV One makes the process smoother for him – and the actor was quick in giving the channel the due credit.

“Before coming to TV One, I approached other channels too but they all refused it saying it’s risky to air a story based on minorities. Unlike others, CEO TV One, Seema Tahir trusted me and provided complete support for this project,” he said.

He also added that TV One never hesitates to experiment and promote quality content irrespective of any prejudice.

The OST of Seeta Bagri has been sung by famous Bollywood singer Sukhwinder Singh and music has been composed by Sajid-Wajid. The other songs for the drama have been composed by local music band, Udan Khatola.

Seeta Bagri will air on TV One in November.

9. Parwaaz Hai Junoon

Haseeb Hassan wrote Hum Film’s Parwaaz Hai Junoon to pay tribute to Pakistan Air Force. This is the first venture of its kind since the last airforce movie was released almost fifty years ago. Starring Osman Khalid Butt and Hamza Ali Abbasi, the movie will hit the theaters on Eid ul Azha 2017.

The plot is based on real-life events approved by the PAF. Scenes will be shot in the CASA aircraft and both the male leads will be seen as gallant Pakistani airforce pilots.

10. Zarrar

The action-thriller, Zarrar is directed and written by the veteran Shaan Shahid. The talented cast includes Nadeem Baig, Kiran Malik, Adnan Butt, Nayyer Ejaz and Shaan, himself.

According to sources, Apple is being expected to launch a new series of their new generation Mac computers at a press event, which is to be on 27th October. The company sent out invites telling the entire world that they have something in store for them using the caption ‘hello again’ with a colorful Apple logo sporting a touch of a galaxy theme, on Wednesday, 19th October.

Judging from the logo, it is being expected that the company will launch the latest versions of their Mac series with major changes and tweaks. According to rumors, the MacBook will sport a touch-sensitive OLED strip which will be replacing the old screen, running along the top of the keyboard. Rumors also suggest that it will have a biometric sensor for fingerprint scanning and a thinner body, no more USB-A and a reversible USB-C.

According to The Guardian, it is being speculated the 11-inch MacBook Air, the company’s cheapest laptop, will be dropped from the line-up, with Apple offering the more expensive 12-inch MacBook – confusingly, largely the same size as the Air – for those who need a lightweight computer for traveling.

The MacBook Pro line hasn’t been updated since May 2015, when it received a minor suite of upgrades including a speed bump, better battery life, and a “Force Touch” trackpad.

Pakistani Female News Reporter Slapped by a Police Officer On Air: Social Media Outraged!

In a shocking turn of events, a female TV news reporter was slapped by a Frontier Constabulary (FC) trooper in Karachi on Friday, and social media is outraged!

In a country where subjects like honor killing and sexual harassment are being raised and discussed openly, and the nation was joyous about the recently passed Honor Killing Bill in the Parliament, a woman reporter has been assaulted on live camera and it’s NOT okay!

The female reporter of a private news channel K-21, Saima Kanwal was doing a report on NADRA office where people were waiting in long queues.

The police officer was constantly misbehaving with the women who were waiting at the NADRA office and even tried to stop the reporter from shooting.

Saima then cornered the police official for manhandling and misbehaving with the ladies and after much provoking and prodding, the police official slapped her on live TV!

It is being reported that the officer, Hassan Abbas also fired 18 air shots and tortured the cameraman and the driver. There were empty gun shells that were shown lying on the ground as well.

As the video went viral, there were all kinds of reactions being observed. Most of the people condemned the incident labeling it as shocking and violent while there were some people who actually supported it. They claimed that since women demand equality, this is an example of that and had there been a guy in Sadaf’s place, he would have been treated the same way. It is simply not justified to hit anyone, not matter how annoying they are;

The police have confirmed that a case has been registered against the guard for ‘assaulting’ and “conducting aerial firing.” Nadra office has also filed a complaint against the TV Channel K-21 for hindering the official work at NADRA office.

Pakistani Army achieved gold in Exercise Cambrian Patrol, a premier patrolling event of the British Army.

This is not the first time a team from Pakistan army reaped gold in the event. Last year as well, the nation’s soldiers achieved the same feat when they defeated around 140 teams from armies across the globe.

PSO Denies Any Imminent Fuel Shortage in Pakistan

Pakistan State Oil (PSO) has denied any imminent fuel shortage in Pakistan and assured smooth transition to new fuels in due course of time

PSO would like to refute the impression that is being created by some circles that there will be the shortage of fuel in the country in the next few days owing to the decision of the government to import higher grades of Mogas and compliance of the same by all Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs).

PSO would like to clarify that as opposed to the claims made; the company has sufficient quantities of Mogas and assures the public that there will be no shortage of fuel for its customers at PSO outlets across the nation.

PSO does not operate on short term gains or minimize its stocks and will continue to honor its commitment of fuelling the nation under all circumstances irrespective of commercial benefit to itself as our topmost priority and commitment is to keep the wheels of the country running.

Being a responsible OMC, PSO has and will always strive to ensure a smooth fuel supply to its customers. All PSO retail outlets are receiving regular fuel supplies and there is no disruption in the company’s supply chain network anywhere in the country.

The present government has decided to replace RON 87 and has also deregulated RON 95/97. 92 RON will be imported from November 2016. PSO has moved ahead on its plan by awarding contracts out of which the first consignment to bring 55,000 tons would reach the country in November 2016.

It is to be noted that the High Octane Blending Content (HOBC) sold in Pakistan is RON 97. The local refineries (except for Attock RON 87) will be producing 90 RON petrol from the beginning of November 2016 as well.

The policy steps taken are a paradigm shift for Pakistan’s oil industry and in providing clean fuels that will assist the climate change plans of the country. PSO assures the people of Pakistan that the transition to new improved quality fuels will be a smooth one.

Recently participating in the third and final presidential debate, Clinton dominated Trump, leading by a significant number of points, which increased, with every debate. It was estimated that there is an 87.3% chance that Clinton will win these presidential elections, considering that she is in a battle against Donald Trump.

Atlas Honda Starts Production in Sheikhupura Plant

Atlas Honda Limited, one of Pakistan’s leading automotive and motorcycle manufacturer industries kick-started test productions in Sheikhupura on Sunday, 16th October. The company claims that the plant is capable of the production of 1.2 million units per year.

“We announced our investment sometime back for the expansion of our motorcycle operations in Pakistan. And, today we have achieved this,” Company spokesman, Raziur Rahman has said.

The new production plant started regular production from 20th October, the company was first established in 1963 and has an output capacity of 900,000 units from two plants, Karachi and now Sheikhupura. The Karachi started with 7 motorcycles a day and now produces 550 units daily.

Rahman also included that the upgraded plant holds a capacity to manufacture 3,000 units per day. All the six brands, CD 70, CD Dream 70cc, Pridor 100cc, CG 125, CG Dream 125cc and CG 125 Deluxe can be produced.

“The five-year expansion plan has already been implemented to double the installed capacity of our Sheikhupura factory from the existing 0.6 million to over 1.2 million units per annum,” he added.  “AHL is widely recognized as the impetus behind the larger and growing two-wheeler industry of Pakistan as it brought about technology transfers and laid the ground for a huge and technically capable vendor base to train human resource in the area,” Rahman further said.

The company also exports bikes to Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. Currently, it is exporting between 4,000 and 5,000 motorcycles a year. It also wants to develop capacity to expand even further and introduce more models in a span for the next 5-years.

Pakistan vs West Indies Second Match: Can the Shaheens win to Whitewash the Cup?

It’s Pakistan vs West Indies once again, and this time, the Green Caps cannot afford to make even a single crucial mistake if they want to take the cup away from right under the Indies noses and win the Haier Cup Series with a whitewash. The Green Team has performed an excellent game play throughout the cup so far, managing an unbeatable win in both the T20 and ODI platforms.

The second Test Match will start today in Abu Dhabi and will be played with the traditional red ball following an action packed innings in a day-night pink ball match, which Pakistan won by a margin of 56-runs. The hosts managed to score a massive score of 579 for 3 while West Indies went all out for 357. Skipper Azhar Ali made his career best 302-runs in a historic match, as Pakistan also became the first Asian country to play a day-night match, in their 400th Test.

“It will be tough. With the kind of confidence the West Indian batsmen have got, it will be difficult to get them out in the second Test,” said Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq. “I think both teams are used to the red ball and have more idea of it — batsmen and bowlers know how the red ball behaves — spinners and fast bowlers will get more help and there will be reverse swing.”

“We did miss him (talking about Babar Azam),” said Misbah. “The pink ball used to be unplayable when we used it in domestic matches in Pakistan but here it didn’t work like that.” That hints Babar will likely replace Sohail Khan and will make way for experienced batsman Younis Khan who had missed the first Test as he was recovering from dengue fever.

West Indies are likely to remain unchanged as captain Jason Holder takes positives from his team’s fight in Dubai. “There were a lot of positives from the first Test, so we need to keep that momentum and approach,” said Holder. “We gave two chances to Ali and paid the price for that so we have to take our chances,” said Holder of the two dropped catches of Ali on 17 and 190.

Rockstar Red Dead Redemption 2 Trailer Unveiled

The new Red Dead Redemption Trailer is finally out! It is a treat you do not want to miss, from cattle to guns, it has it all .

Here’s what in store for you:



The Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer is coming out for all Playstation and Xbox players on 20th October! Rockstar Games make this announcement on their official pages and website. The company is to roll out the game for both consoles in Fall 2017, while the trailer will be out 11AM ET  tomorrow.

Also being called, Red Dead 2, the game is to be a sequel to the Red Dead Redemption game. Red Dead is an open world game which falls under the western action-adventure category and was originally released in 2010. The game is set during the decline of American Frontier around the early 1900’s.

The story circulates around a man named John Marston, a former outlaw. His son and wife are taken as a hostage by the government and as a ransom for his services. To bring his family to justice, he rounds up 3 other men and sets out into the open world. The game allows the player to travel inspecting their environment while interacting with other characters.

Rockstar Games is allowing gamers to pre-order the game from their website as well. Rockstar describes their upcoming title as ‘an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.’

Nintendo Switch: First Look Trailer Finally Revealed

Nintendo has taken a long time to unveil their new console, but if you are a die-hard Nintendo fan, the wait was worth it. The company finally gave fans around the world an official preview of what they can expect from the new Nintendo console, renamed from Nintendo NX to Nintendo Switch. The Switch console is manufactured by Kyoto.

“Introducing Nintendo Switch! In addition to providing single and multiplayer thrills at home, the Nintendo Switch system also enables gamers to play the same title wherever, whenever and with whoever they choose. The mobility of a handheld is now added to the power of a home gaming system to enable unprecedented new video gameplay styles.”

The company has taken things to the next level while keeping their signature NES cartridge style. Gamers will be able to play the system through a remote controller, a handheld game, and can even play simply with the cartridge itself. Check out an exclusive first look of Nintendo Switch.

The trailer even shows potential Nintendo games we can expect, including The Legend of Zelda, Mario Kart, Super Mario, and more.

Sajjal Ali’s Upcoming Bollywood Debut Movie ‘Mom’ Now in Trouble!

Seems like Sajjal Ali’s upcoming Bollywood debut titled ‘Mom’ has also landed itself in hot waters. The movie went on the floors in March this year in Delhi and also features Adnan Siddiqui in a vital role.

Amidst the Pak-India soaring tensions, the movie faced a halt right one day before the end of the schedule. According to Pinkvilla, the reason behind the trouble is that there are two Pakistani actors in the movie, namely Sajjal Ali who plays Sri Devi’s daughter & Adnan Siddiqui who plays her husband.

Directed by Ravi Udyawar, the aggravating Indo-Pak tensions are the reason why the film Mom is facing major troubles!

An inside source revealed: “After Delhi, we had a two-month schedule in Georgia in May. The remaining portions will most probably be shot in Mumbai but it’s unlikely to happen anytime soon given the current situation. We’re waiting to hear about the final schedule.”

Producer of the movie, Boney Kapoor, who is also Sri Devi’s husband explained how only a day’s work is left in the movie’s completion but he refused to comment about the film’s release.

Earlier, at a film awards show in 2014, Shaan  badly bashed Pakistani superstars who ventured into projects from across the border. The veteran seemingly took a subtle dig at Ali Zafar, while labeling all the artists as “cheap sell-outs”.

In the same ceremony, Ali Zafar while accepting an award said in his speech that it was wrong of Shaan to blame stars who went to Bollywood as “sell-outs”.

“We make excuses to hide our weaknesses, sometimes, in the name of patriotism, sometimes, in the name of other things. We should speak the truth and the time has come when the new generation should be told the truth,” said Ali Zafar.
