Official sources have stated that the aim of the internship program is to create employment opportunities for the youth of Pakistan.
After their internship comes to an end, the participating individuals will be offered jobs in their respective fields in both the public and private sectors.

NIP was stalled after the regime change in 2018 and no new batch was announced after the completion of the last one.
