Huda Kattan at it Again, Donates All Proceeds from Recent Campaign to Gaza

Published on

Beauty mogul Huda Kattan has once again shown that she’s not just about glam and glitter but also about giving back when it matters most.

Her brand, Huda Beauty, has donated 100% of the proceeds from its latest lip oil campaign to Doctors Without Borders (MSF) to support medical relief efforts in Gaza.

The Campaign Kalamantina

Earlier this month, Huda Beauty launched a new lip oil shade called Kalamantina in collaboration with Palestinian-French artist Saint Levant. Inspired by his song of the same name, the campaign featured playful imagery of the two surrounded by clementines, an ode to Palestinian agriculture.

But the internet had mixed reactions.

While many praised the effort to highlight Palestinian culture, others felt the visuals didn’t sit well considering the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza. With people in the region struggling for food, some called the campaign insensitive and out of touch.

Turning Criticism into Impact

To their credit, Huda and Saint Levant listened.

In response to the feedback, they announced that every dollar made from the campaign of around $210,000 would go directly to Doctors Without Borders. The money will help fund urgent medical aid in Gaza, where hospitals are overwhelmed and resources are stretched thin.

In a joint statement, they said:

“At a time when we are witnessing genocide in Gaza, we are trying to find a way to make an impact where we can. Please continue to use your platforms to spread awareness. You are making a difference.”

Not Huda’s First Act of Kindness

Huda Kattan has always been vocal about social justice. In the past, she’s donated:

  • Over $1 million during Ramadan to fight hunger in the UAE,
  • $1 million in 2023 to support relief efforts in Gaza,
  • And helped fund COVID-19 relief in India.

She’s consistently used her platform not just to sell beauty products but to push for real change. This is incredibly crucial in today’s day and age.

The beauty industry often gets a bad rap for being superficial. But moves like this show how powerful beauty brands can be when they lead with heart and responsibility.

In short: Huda Kattan turned a campaign that started with controversy into a powerful act of compassion. And in doing so, she reminded us that beauty and business both can be a force for good, if the intention is right.
