Arshad Nadeem Eyes Glory in World Athletics Championship

Published on

Fresh off a stunning gold at the Asian Athletics Championship and a spot on Forbes’ ‘30 Under 30’ list, Arshad Nadeem isn’t taking a breather. Instead, he’s locked in on his next goal — conquering the World Athletics Championship this September.

In a candid chat during his training at Punjab Stadium in Lahore, the javelin star looked fired up and focused.

“Whenever Pakistan’s name shines because of me, it fills me with joy,” he said, his words reflecting both humility and pride. “I always strive to win more medals and bring more honour to my country.”

Training with a purpose

Arshad Nadeem has already resumed intense training and plans to compete in two to three events before the World Championship.

He’s also gearing up for a training stint in England, where he’ll work on fine-tuning his technique and correcting the small mistakes he spotted during his Asian Championship performance.

“We are planning targeted sessions to overcome the flaws and raise my level even more,” Arshad explained. That level of dedication is exactly why he’s become a symbol of national pride.

From Paris gold to the Forbes list

If you somehow missed it, Arshad made history at the Paris Olympics, winning Pakistan’s first-ever individual Olympic gold medal with a jaw-dropping throw of 92.97 meters. That throw didn’t just earn him a medal; it turned him into a household name overnight.

And now, his impact goes beyond athletics. This week, he earned a spot on Forbes South Asia’s 2025 ‘30 Under 30’ list, a nod to his growing cultural significance in the region.

“It’s a proud moment for the whole nation,” he said of the honour. “Please keep me in your prayers so I can keep winning for Pakistan.”

The road ahead

The World Athletics Championship is the only major title missing from Arshad’s growing collection, and it’s clearly personal for him. His eyes are firmly set on September, and he’s building toward that moment — physically and mentally.

At just 28, he has already brought home five gold medals from major competitions and stood tall in the face of injuries, pressure, and expectations. But in typical Arshad Nadeem fashion, he isn’t settling. There’s always another summit to climb.
