Summer is the best time to live your life. Longer days and abundant amounts of sun boost our vitamin D, serotonin, and our mood. Who could ask for more? Unfortunately, there’s a slight downside to this glorious season. It’s unbearably hot, especially when working and always on the go!

We sweat, we’re uncomfortable, dehydrated – all of it before even leaving the house. A simple solution would be to crank up the AC and stay inside until autumn. Sadly, things aren’t that simple.

Therefore, take a look at some ways to cool ourselves down & beat the heat!

1. Stay Hydrated

Make sure your body isn’t left wanting for water. You will sweat a lot, and it is vital to replenish your fluid content by drinking water regularly. Dehydration can cause severe weakness, fatigue, and other illnesses in extreme circumstances.

2. Wear Breathable Clothes

Less is more, especially during the summertime heat. Dress loose and pick the materials that let your skin breathe — cotton or linen will do the trick.

3. Eat Mindfully

There’s a good reason salads are so prevalent in warmer climates. They’re a lot easier to digest and won’t make you feel sluggish in the summertime heat. Avoid fatty foods at all costs. I know those delicious burgers look inviting, but you’ll feel better if you stick to fruits and veggies. These healthy goodies are so watery that they’ll keep you hydrated and cool you down in no time.

It is impossible to stay out of the sun if you are always on the go. However, keeping a shade over your head with an umbrella or a visor can protect your head from overheating. Don’t forget about wide-brimmed hats or other head coverings that will shield you from the sun. Hats are your friends! Also, do not forget your sunscreen to protect your skin and prevent the signs of aging.

Yes, you read that right. Take your regular hot water bottle, get rid of the insulating cover if you wish, and fill it up with ice-cold water. Place it under your knees, and enjoy the chill as it spreads across your body.
