UAE announces a new visa policy, allowing kids under 18 years of age traveling with parents or guardians to avail a two-month free tourist visa.

New Tourism Taxes have Made holidays to Barbados more Expensive

Families planning to travel in summers will be able to do so without having to pay for the visa fee of their children.

The decision to exempt under 18 dependents from paying the visa fee was followed by the UAE Cabinet’s decision on Sunday to promote family tourism. Under this new rule, kids meeting the criteria will be able to avail two months of relaxation in visa fees which will be valid from 15 July to 15 September each year.

Over the past year, UAE has made several changes to its visa policy in an attempt to draw more tourists in the country. Aside from waiving off the tourist visa fee for under 18, previously the authorities had also exempted transit passengers from paying the entry fee in the first 48 hours of their travel.

With 32.8 million passengers traveling through the airports of UAE in the first quarter of 2018 alone, this initiative taken by the authorities is bound to attract even more visitors to the country.
