In its recent raid on food eateries, the Food Department of Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has slapped a hefty ban on three leading bakeries of the city.
Paying a surprise visit to renowned food bakeries, namely:
- Rahat Bakers,
- Nirala Bakers,
- Al-Farooq Sweets and Bakers
RCB discovered their kitchen in a filthy condition and imposed a massive fine of PKR 60,000.
The food-inspectors also collected 26 samples from different eateries for laboratory examination and served notices to 15 eateries after finding unhygienic standards.
Spokesperson of Food Department of RCB, Rana Qaiser stated:
“The notices were served to owners of those eateries who have employed the workers and salesmen without carrying out their medical tests from hospitals”
Judicial magistrate of cantonment board also imposed a PKR 12,000 fine to the shopkeepers.
