The Telenor Youth Forum Recruitment Programme has officially opened in Pakistan for the talented youth (ages 20-28) living in Pakistan who can now apply for the annual Telenor Youth Forum (TYF). This event, run in partnership with the Nobel Peace Center, brings together young leaders from Telenor’s 13 markets to tackle social challenges through the use of digital solutions.

The Telenor Youth Forum is a year-long commitment that begins in Oslo from December 8-11, 2016, and is timed to coincide with the Nobel Peace Prize festivities.

The young delegates will work in teams on their assigned challenges, aiming to create engagement, awareness, understanding and ultimately peace.

They will meet again in May 2017, in Bangkok, to continue their journey. The culmination of their commitment to the program will be the unveiling of a digital exhibition in collaboration with the Nobel Peace Center in autumn 2017.

“It’s youth that has the power to change the destiny of a country and make it a better place to live. Today, we invite young and forward-looking Pakistanis to join us on the Telenor Youth Forum 2016 platform and present innovative solutions that utilize technology as a key ingredient in the recipe for global peace. The mega event – themed ‘Digitalizing for Peace’ – is aptly partnered with the Nobel Peace Center that inspires peace providing an arena for young people with ideas and passion to meet and discuss the issues that matter most in this world. We look forward to applications for the TYF ’16 and a healthy engagement of peace builders of tomorrow at the event,” says Michael Foley, CEO Telenor Pakistan.

The TYF delegates will spend one year working with their teams to deliver on the project plans. They will meet twice physically and collaborate virtually when back in their home countries.

Their aim will be to deliver on the solution that they believe best addresses their social challenge, as well as to work alongside the Nobel Peace Center to create an exhibition of the social issue that they tackled.
