Samsung has confirmed the Galaxy S22 series launch timeline. The company will host its new Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event later this year. Samsung Electronic’s President, TM Roh, has confirmed that the event will be hosted in February 2022. While the official launch date remains unknown, the event is rumoured to be held on February 9.

What’s New In The Latest Model

Details of the three Galaxy S22 series phones have leaked in the past. The top-end S22 Ultra model is the highlight here as it will come with a Galaxy Note-like design. The phone will have an S Pen slot at the bottom. It will come with a large 6.8-inch 2K AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support. The phone will have a quad-camera setup on the back with a 108MP main camera.

The President’s Note

TM Roh, the President and Head of Samsung MX, published an interesting blog on the company’s website saying.

“At Unpacked, in February 2022, we’ll introduce you to the most noteworthy S series device we’ve ever created.”

“The next generation of Galaxy S is here, bringing together the greatest experiences of our Samsung Galaxy into one ultimate device,” futher adding.

In a press release about the upcoming Unpacked 2022 event, TM Roh said,

“We know many of you were surprised when Samsung didn’t release a new Galaxy Note last year.” Roh went on to talk about some of the features that make the Note smartphones great, including the S Pen, noting the company hasn’t “forgotten about these experiences you love.”

The Lineup

The S22 series is confirmed to feature three smartphone models: the S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra. Both the S22+ and S22 vanilla devices will come with the same design found on their respective predecessors. They will have a 50MP main camera sensor. The phones will have a triple-camera setup.

The Battery

All three Samsung phones will come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and Exynos 2200 SoC depending on the region of launch. There will be up to 45W fast charging support as well. The top-end Ultra model will pack a 5000 mAh battery, whereas the S22 is said to pack a 4000 mAh cell.
