Season 5 of 'The Boys' Promises Shocking Twists, Major Deaths, and an Emotional Send-Off
The countdown has begun for The Boys season 5, the fifth and final season ofAmazon Prime Video’s dark and satirical superhero series. Production is underway, and therelease is scheduled for 2026. Given the history of the show’s earlier seasons, fans are preparing for a finale that promises to be as shocking and intense as it can be.
The Rise of Homelander’s Regime
Season 4 ended with a major twist. Homelander (Antony Starr) became president, turning the United States into his personal “kingdom.” This marks a first in the show’s history. Season 5 will focus on Homelander’s unchecked power as the main conflict. Showrunner Eric Kripke calls this twist a “gift” for storytelling. It allows the series to explore the dangers of absolute power.
From the beginning, Eric Kripke designed The Boysas a five-season story from the start. He believes five seasons create a complete and satisfying story arc. This plan prevents the show from overstaying its welcome. Each season builds on the last, leading to a climactic and cohesive conclusion.
Season 5 of ‘The Boys’ Promises Shocking Twists, Major Deaths, and an Emotional Send-Off
Big Character Arcs and Possible Deaths
No character will be safe in the final season as Kripke promises a bloodbath with major deaths ahead. Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) struggles against the deadly effects of V24 and faces a grim future. Hughie (Jack Quaid) is set to rise as a leader. This could put him on a collision course with Butcher. Ryan (Cameron Crovetti), Homelander’s son, remains in limbo. Fans speculate about his survival, adding tension to the story.
New Faces and Returning Favourites
Fans should also be on the lookout for new faces as Season 5 will introduce new characters to deepen the plot. Daveed Diggs joins in a mysterious role, with little known about his character. The season will alsoreunite Supernaturalalumni Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins with Jensen Ackles (Soldier Boy). This crossover excites fans of both shows.
Most importantly, fans can expect intense showdowns, surprising alliances, and emotional goodbyes. While the show will keep its signature mix of dark humour and explosive action. Thefinale is bound toleave a lasting impression.
As production continues, more details will emerge.

In his first weekly general audience, Pope Leo XIV made an emotional appeal for unrestricted humanitarian access to Gaza, calling the situation “worrying and painful” as critical shortages of food and medicine continue to devastate the civilian population.
“The heartbreaking price of this war is being paid by children, the elderly, the sick,” said the newly elected pontiff in St. Peter’s Square. The first American pope, Leo XIV, has made peace a central theme of his papacy, calling early for a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict.
The United Nations reported this week that aid deliveries resumed for the first time since Israel imposed a total blockade on Gaza on March 2. However, humanitarian groups, including Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), warn that the limited aid allowed in is “woefully inadequate.”
Aid Trickles In, But Crisis Deepens
Under pressure from allies, including the U.S., Israel has recently allowed some aid trucks into Gaza, reporting 93 trucks on Tuesday. However, the UN stated that much of the aid is held up at the border, and MSF described Israel’s easing of restrictions as “a smokescreen.”
“The decision to allow a ridiculously inadequate amount of aid… signals their intention to avoid the accusation of starving people, while in fact keeping them barely surviving,”said Pascale Coissard, MSF emergency coordinator in Khan Younis.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio acknowledged the insufficiency of the aid but expressed optimism about the resumed flow. He reiterated U.S. support for eliminating Hamas, saying Gaza’s future depends on a leadership change.
Human Cost of the War Mounts
The Gaza Health Ministry, controlled by Hamas, reports more than 53,500 Palestinians have been killed since the war began, many of them women and children. The Israeli military continues its offensive, stating its aim is to recover the remaining hostages taken during the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack, which killed 1,200 people and saw 251 taken into Gaza.
Israel considers Hamas a terrorist organisation, as do the U.S. and European Union, and has vowed to continue military operations until Hamas is disarmed and dismantled.

Pakistan, China, Afghanistan Stress United for Stability in the Region
The sixth trilateral foreign ministers’ meeting will soon take place in Kabul, reflecting the shared belief among the nations that collaboration is essential for regional stability and development.
Earlier, Pakistan and Afghanistan emphasised that high-level engagements will help advance long-term cooperation focused on peace and security within the region and beyond. During a casual session in Beijing, Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, China, and Afghanistan stressed lateral interactions in helping regional security and economic connectivity.
Meanwhile, in the Pakistan Foreign Office, the ministers decided to maintain regular contact and further improve diplomatic relations for the aims of trade, infrastructure development, and eventually regional prosperity. Particularly about China’s Belt and Road Initiative, the three parties promised to deepen cooperation on expanding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to Afghanistan in order to promote economic integration. Handling shared issues such as cross-border militancy, they underlined their will to combat terrorism and promote regional stability.
Understanding of this effect reached during a phone call between Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, and Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi.
The leaders said they were happy with the pace of development in bilateral relations between the two nations since the Deputy Prime Minister’s visit to Afghanistan on April 19, 2025, concentrating on trade, connectivity, economic cooperation, people-to-people contacts, and reactivating political consultative mechanisms.

Indian Media Questions Muslim Academic's Arrest Over Operation Sindoor Remarks
The arrest of Professor Ali Khan, a Muslim academic in India, over comments made on social media regarding “Operation Sindoor”has sparked public backlash. Not only have civil rights groups voiced concern, but prominent Indian media outlets have also questioned the basis of the sedition charges filed against him.
On May 8, Professor Ali Khan posted that it was good to see right-wing figures praising Colonel Sofia Qureshi. He then urged them to also speak out for victims of mob lynching, home demolitions, and the BJP’s divisive politics, saying these citizens deserved protection as Indians.
This statement led to a First Information Report (FIR) being filed against him, citing “anti-national” sentiment and an alleged insult to “daughters of India.”However, when asked to justify these claims, those behind the complaint struggled to provide evidence.
My statement re the summons that I received from the Haryana State Women’s Commission.
The posts that were misunderstood and objected to can be accessed at these links:https://t.co/RMbrnmOCSQ
In an interview that quickly gained attention online, Renu Bhatia, Chairperson of the Haryana State Women’s Commission, who filed the complaint, could not identify any specific words in the professor’s post that were seditious or derogatory. The anchor repeatedly read the statement aloud and asked her to highlight the objectionable content.
Bhatia insisted that calling out military women was equivalent to an attack on their dignity, but failed to cite anything that directly insulted Colonel Sofia Qureshi or Wing Commander Vyomika Singh. “How can someone say such things?”she said, without elaborating.
The anchor pressed her further, noting the absence of any quote that supported the sedition charge. Her evasive answers led the anchor to conclude: “The nation wants to know — what exactly did he say?”
Public Reaction and Media Critique
The incident has triggered criticism not only on social media but in mainstream Indian newsrooms. A viral cartoon summed up public sentiment: “Find something offensive in Professor Ali Khan’s post,”says the state. The police check his religion. The government responds: “Arrest him.”
The widespread coverage has raised concerns about freedom of speech, misuse of sedition laws, and targeting individuals based on their faith.

NASA Warns of Huge Solar Flares on Earth Potentially Causing Blackouts
NASA issued a warning about an enormous solar storm approaching Earth following the Sun’s strongest solar flare in 2025. The X2.7 classified flare erupted from sunspot area AR4087 on 14 May 2025. This is the culmination of Solar Cycle 25, a phase of intensified solar activity that comes roughly every 11 years. Experts project that this storm can potentially cause widespread disruptions in communication and navigation systems, such as GPS and satellite signals, and power grid instabilities.
What is a Solar Flare?
A solar flare is an explosive, sudden release of energy and radiation from the surface of the Sun. Solar flares have the potential to disturb Earth’s ionosphere, disrupting radio communications and satellite functions. The X2.7 flare is the strongest on record so far in 2025, although weaker than some of the X-class flares seen in 2024.
What is a Solar Flare?
Effects on Earth
The solar flare already induced a short-term radio blackout in some areas of Europe and Asia. As the Earth passes through the period of maximum solar activity, researchers are tracking several active sunspot regions that may produce more disruptions. The disruptions might result in additional radio blackouts, GPS interference, and satellite communications disruption. More geomagnetic activity might also make auroras appear in areas not normally witnessing them, including the UK and Ireland.
Precautions and Preparedness
NASA and the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Centre are monitoring the active solar zone closely. Governments have raised alert levels worldwide, highlighting the likelihood of even greater flares in the near future. The public is cautioned to remain vigilant and ready for possible technological interferences amid peak hours of solar activity.
Solar flares not just interfere with technology, they also bring with them a dramatic natural light display. The heightened geomagnetic activity can cause striking auroras to be seen in abnormal places. But caution is needed regarding the possibilities of disruption to infrastructure and communication networks. Specialists are still tracking the events and giving updates as more details emerge.

IT: Welcome to Derry, will Take Fans to where IT all Began
After a long wait, the first look at IT: Welcome to Derry is finally here. The HBO Max series takes viewers back to where it all began — long before the events of the IT films that terrified audiences in 2017 and 2019.
The teaser opens in 1962, in the eerie, fog-covered town of Derry, Maine. We see a young boy trying to escape, eyes full of fear. Something is lurking, and longtime fans know exactly who it is. Pennywise the Dancing Clown is back — but this time, he stays mostly in the shadows. Instead of full-blown horror, the trailer leans into suspense, showing just how terrified the townspeople are as a quiet evil creeps closer.
Skarsgård Returns to the Role that Haunts Him
Bill Skarsgård is back as Pennywise, though it wasn’t a sure thing. Last year, he shared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast that he was thinking of stepping away from monster roles. But his friendship with director Andy Muschietti and producer Barbara Muschietti changed his mind. “They’re like family to me,” Skarsgård said. “So I said, alright, let’s bring him back.”
Each Season Dives Deeper into Derry’s Dark Past
Unlike the other films, Welcome to Derry is structured as an anthology. Each season will explore a different era of Pennywise’s sinister history. Season 1 starts in 1962, with plans to go even further back — to 1935 in Season 2 and 1908 in Season 3.
Director Andy Muschietti says the show is inspired by the “interludes” from Stephen King’s original novel. These include past horrors like the Black Spot fire and the Kitchener Ironworks explosion — events that signalled Pennywise’s return each time.
Source: CBR
New Characters, Same Nightmare
While Pennywise is back, the rest of the cast is entirely new. Viewers will meet original characters played by Jovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, Chris Chalk, James Remar, and Stephen Rider. Their exact roles haven’t been revealed yet, but one thing’s clear — they’ll be fighting the same ancient evil that haunted the Losers Club.
Mark Your Calendars
Welcome to Derry premieres in 2025 on HBO Max. Only one season is officially confirmed, but the buzz around it suggests more are on the way. This time, we will finally know how it all started.

Field Marshal Asim Munir Receives Guard of Honour at Yadgar-e-Shuhada
Field Marshal General Asim Munir received a special guard of honour at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada (Martyrs’ Monument) at General Headquarters (GHQ), according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). During the ceremony, he laid a wreath of flowers and offered prayers in memory of the martyrs. This was his first formal visit to the monument after his promotion.
He dedicated the honour to the people of Pakistan, especially military veterans and the martyrs. “This title is an homage to the valiant soldiers who defended the country’s sovereignty and resisted Indian assault,”he stated.
“I am thankful to the President, the Prime Minister, and the Cabinet for their trust,”said Field Marshal Munir. He called the honour a national trust and added, “Millions of Asims are ready to sacrifice to uphold this trust.”He further remarked, “This is not an individual honour but a recognition for the Pakistan Armed Forces and the entire nation.”
Military Operations and Leadership Role
On Tuesday, the federal leadership approved General Syed Asim Munir’s promotion to the rank of Field Marshal. His leadership in key military operations, including Operation Bunyan-al-Marsoos and the confrontation known as Marka-e-Haq, led to the historic decision.
Tensions between India and Pakistan had escalated after last month’s Pahalgam incident. Indian fighter jets launched strikes on May 6 and 7 across parts of Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, causing civilian deaths. In response, Pakistan’s military downed five Indian aircraft.
Ceasefire Agreement
Despite the ceasefire, India has continued strong rhetoric, while Pakistan has repeated its commitment to peace and prefers dialogue over further conflict. Officials from both sides have confirmed that the ceasefire remains open-ended.
The title of Field Marshal is the highest military rank in Pakistan and is inspired by British Army traditions. Before General Asim Munir, only General Mohammad Ayub Khan had received this honour.

The playoff stage of PSL 10 is heating up, and just when it looked like Lahore Qalandars were running out of cards, they pulled one from Dhaka.
Enter Mehidy Hasan Miraz, the Bangladeshi all-rounder known for his clever off-spin and gritty batting, who’s just landed in Lahore to join the Qalandars ahead of their high-stakes Eliminator clash against arch-rivals Karachi Kings.
Miraz isn’t here by chance — he’s replacing Zimbabwean star Sikandar Raza, who’s off to represent his national side in a four-day Test against England. While Raza’s absence is a blow, Lahore may have found a like-for-like replacement in Miraz, especially in the spin department.
Announcing his arrival, the Qalandars’ official social media gave it a dramatic touch:
“Spin wizard in town! Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz arrives in Lahore to join Lahore Qalandars for the remainder of the PSL. Qalandars fans, let’s welcome our Qalandar brother!”
Interestingly, this isn’t Miraz’s first brush with franchise cricket, but it’s easily the biggest. Speaking about the opportunity, he kept it real:
“It is technically the second time I have got a call-up to a franchise league… PSL is one of the top tournaments going around. I have done well in the BPL, so I am confident that I can give my best.”
It’s a golden opportunity not just to help Qalandars, but to push his own case for a T20I recall. He’s currently not part of Bangladesh’s T20 series against the UAE or the upcoming five-match T20I series in Pakistan.
“Definitely, I want to get back into the Bangladesh [T20I] team, and this is one of the ways I can improve myself in the format.”
Miraz won’t feel entirely out of place in the Qalandars’ camp. He’ll be sharing the dressing room with Shakib Al Hasan, the senior statesman of Bangladesh cricket, who recently joined Lahore too.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the T20I squad for the upcoming home series against Bangladesh, and once again, it’s the kind of selection that leaves you scratching your head.
Let’s dig into the squad, the returns, the exclusions, and everything in between.
Why Confirm A Captain That Was Already Confirmed?
First off, PCB’s press release “confirmed” that Salman Ali Agha will continue as the white-ball captain.
Umm… wasn’t he already leading the side during the New Zealand tour? Then why the need for a fresh confirmation? Is his position under threat already? Or are we going to “re-confirm” the captain before every series now?
This kind of messaging does more harm than good. It stirs unnecessary confusion, for fans and, more importantly, for the players. Consistency breeds confidence, and Pakistan cricket could really use some of that right now.
Comebacks In the Pakistan Squad
Despite the offbeat captaincy announcement, there’s plenty to smile about in the squad.
First things first, top-order batters Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub returned to action in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, and now they are back in the national team.
Fakhar’s PSL 10 numbers speak volumes: 369 runs, average 36.90, strike rate 155.04. Saim, while not at his best, is still considered a long-term investment. Fair enough.
Meanwhile, Pakistan recalled pace-bowling all-rounder Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Wasim Jr.
Faheem Ashraf, with 14 wickets at an average of 19.07, has been a crucial cog for Quetta in PSL 10. Mohammad Wasim Jr., though not as dominant, chipped in with 8 wickets in 7 games, still valuable depth.
Meanwhile, Sahibzada Farhan has been knocking on the door for a while now. This time, the selectors finally listened.
He made a strong case with his performances recently. He was the highest run-scorer in the National T20 Cup with 605 runs at a strike rate of 189.65.
Meanwhile, in the PSL 10, he is also at the top with 394 runs, striking at 154.50. Moreover, he struck four centuries across both events!
Hasan Ali earned his spot with 15 wickets in 9 games, while Naseem Shah returns from rest. A bigger surprise, however, is Hussain Talat — back in green after 2021. He’s made a solid case with 205 runs and 5 wickets this PSL season.
But What About Omissions?
Now to the real head-scratchers. Shaheen Afridi’s absence raises eyebrows. PCB didn’t say whether he’s rested or dropped, which just adds to the ambiguity.
Sure, his international form has dipped, but 11 wickets at 21.63 in PSL 10 isn’t terrible.
On the other hand, Abbas Afridi is the highest wicket-taker in PSL 10. 17 wickets in 10 games. And yet, no spot in the squad? Makes you wonder what else a bowler needs to do.
Other Notable Exits
Abdul Samad
Jahandad Khan
Mohammad Ali
Omair Bin Yousuf
Usman Khan
Sufiyan Muqeem
Most of them barely featured in PSL 10, so their exclusion tracks. But Sufiyan Muqeem’s absence stings. With spin-friendly tracks likely and his decent international record, he surely deserved a shot.
Still No Babar & Rizwan
Yes, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan are still out of the T20I mix — and this time, the stats don’t make a strong case for their return, despite looking decent.
Rizwan: 367 runs, Avg 52.42, SR 139.54
Babar: 288 runs, Avg 36, SR 128.57
Solid numbers, no doubt, but not undeniable in a world where the selectors are backing aggression and youth. Still, their continued absence keeps the debate alive.
Final Thoughts
On the surface, the inclusion of deserving performers like Farhan, Faheem, and Hussain Talat is a step in the right direction. But the lack of clarity on omissions, especially of key names like Shaheen and Abbas Afridi, leaves room for speculation.
If this is truly the start of a bold new era, let it be consistent, transparent, and fair. The fans deserve it. The players, even more so.
Let’s just hope the playing XI reflects the intentions behind these selections, and not a safe, confused shuffle when it’s game time.

On Wednesday morning, a bomb exploded near a school bus in Khuzdar, Balochistan. The blast killed five people, including three children, and left several others injured.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “As per the initial reports, three innocent children and two adults have embraced martyrdom and multiple children have sustained injuries.”
ISPR blamed Indian proxies for the deadly bus attack, calling it a desperate move after battlefield defeats.
ISPR said, “After miserably failing in the battlefield, Indian proxies have unleashed these most heinous and cowardly acts to spread terror and unrest in Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.”
The military also accused India of using terrorism to target civilians. It said, “After failing in Operation Bunnianum Masroor and facing pursuit by military and law enforcement, India uses these terror proxies as a state tool to fuel terrorism in Pakistan against soft targets like innocent children and civilians.”
The ISPR also criticized India’s political leadership. It noted, “Use of terrorism as a state policy by Indian political government is a horent and reflective of their low morality and disregard of basic human norms.”
In conclusion, the ISPR expressed unity and determination. “Pakistan Armed Forces with support of brave Pakistani nation, stand united to uproot Indian sponsored terrorism from Pakistan in its all manifestations.”
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also condemned the attack. He called it Indian-sponsored and mourned the deaths of innocent children and teachers. In his statement, he extended condolences to the families and directed authorities to catch those responsible. He also ordered immediate and priority medical treatment for the injured.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly denounced the bombing as well. He expressed sorrow over the children’s deaths and shared heartfelt sympathies with the grieving families.

As the PSL 10 playoffs approach crunch time, Quetta Gladiators aren’t just banking on experience — they’re riding the wave of young, fearless talent. And according to skipper Saud Shakeel, two names have already carved out a space in Pakistan’s cricketing future: Hassan Nawaz and Khawaja Nafay.
Yes, you’ve heard the hype. But this isn’t just smoke — these two might just be the real deal.
Hassan Nawaz: The Breakout Beast
Let’s talk about the man of the moment — Hassan Nawaz.
At just 22, the power-hitter has turned PSL 10 into his personal highlight reel. With 317 runs in 10 games, an average over 63, and a strike rate nudging 160, he’s not just making noise — he’s dominating. Throw in two fifties and a ton, and suddenly, we’re not asking if he’ll play for Pakistan — we’re asking when.
Saud Shakeel couldn’t stop raving about him, and rightly so.
“Hassan Nawaz played all kinds of shots and was instrumental in our victories,” he said.
“We always believed in his talent, but early on, we were still figuring out his role. Now, whatever praise he gets, it’s still not enough.”
That’s high praise from a skipper who isn’t known for throwing compliments around lightly.
Nafay — The Quiet Match-Winner
While Hassan’s fireworks grab headlines, Khawaja Nafay has been quietly doing the job. Not flashy, but efficient. Not loud, but reliable.
Saud Shakeel recognized his contributions too:
“Nafay grabbed his opportunity well. These performances will only boost his confidence going forward.”
And that’s what you want in your young guns — the ability to deliver when the spotlight’s not always on them.
Quetta’s Turnaround: Not Just Luck, but Grit
It wasn’t always smooth sailing for the Gladiators. The season started on shaky ground. But somewhere along the way — thanks in large part to batting firepower and bold team calls — things clicked.
“We didn’t start the tournament well, but we turned things around with the bat,” Saud reflected.
With seven wins and only two losses, plus a rain-hit washout, Quetta finished top of the table. Let that sink in. The same Quetta that was written off by many is now staring at a potential second title.
Well, whether or not Quetta goes all the way this season, one thing is clear: Hassan Nawaz and Khawaja Nafay aren’t just PSL stories — they’re future Pakistan stories.
They’re not here to warm benches or fill quotas. They’re competing, impacting, and turning heads.
And as Saud Shakeel rightly put it, “They’re genuine contenders for the Pakistan team.”

Punjab Announces Early Summer Vacations Due To Heatwave
Due to the ongoing heatwave in Punjab, the provincial government has decided to start summer holidays earlier and cut down school hours. The Punjab School Education Department announced in a notification on Tuesday that schools will close for summer vacation from May 28 instead of June 1. Until then, classes will run from 7:30am to 11:30am.
All schools across Punjab will follow this new schedule. They will reopen on August 15 after the summer break. The Punjab Higher Education Department also said that colleges and universities will begin their summer vacations on May 28.
A spokesperson for the Pakistan Meteorological Department said, “The prevailing heat wave is probably going to last this week.” Lahore recorded a temperature of 42°C on Tuesday. The spokesperson added that high pressure in the upper atmosphere will stay through the week. This will push day temperatures in South Punjab to 4–6°C above normal till May 24. Central and upper Punjab could see temperatures up to 7°C above average.
Due to the extreme heat, dust storms and strong winds may hit some plain areas. The authorities have urged the public—especially children, women, and the elderly—to avoid the sun during peak hours, stay indoors, and drink plenty of water.
Farmers should plan their crop routines based on the weather and take proper care of their animals. The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a heatwave alert. Punjab Relief Commissioner Nabeel Javed directed all commissioners and deputy commissioners to stay alert. He said the education, health, transport, local government, and Rescue 1122 departments must stay prepared as high temperatures will affect major cities and plain areas until May 24.
PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia said local administrations must provide clean drinking water in public places. He also stressed that hospitals and mobile health units should be ready to treat heatstroke patients.

Is Justice Finally Served in the Noor Mukadam Case?
On May 20, 2025, the Supreme Court of Pakistan delivered a long-awaited verdict. Zahir Jaffer’s death sentence for the brutal murder of Noor Mukadam would stand. The decision came nearly four years after Noor’s horrific death. It was met with a collective sense of relief and a deep emotional release across the country.
Noor, just 27 at the time, was held captive, tortured, and then beheaded in Jaffer’s home in Islamabad in July 2021. The crime shocked the nation and sparked outrage that went far beyond headlines — it became a national reckoning with issues like gender-based violence, legal privilege, and how justice often moves too slowly for the vulnerable.
Zahir Jaffer
The Supreme Court’s Final Word
The Supreme Court’s ruling, led by Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, confirmed Jaffer’s conviction under Pakistan’s penal code. His second death sentence, for rape, was reduced to life imprisonment, and a 10-year sentence for abduction was brought down to just one year. While the technical details mattered, what stood out more was the message: this time, power and wealth didn’t win.
Jaffer, an American citizen from an influential business family, had tried to escape punishment by claiming mental instability — a defence the court rejected, calling the murder premeditated and deliberate. His final lifeline now is a presidential pardon, a possibility many activists hope will be firmly denied.
Is Justice Finally Served in the Noor Mukadam Case?
A Nation Reacts
Reactions flooded in within minutes. The hashtag #JusticeForNoor lit up social media. Actor Osman Khalid Butt praised Noor’s father, Shaukat Mukadam, for never giving up. Others called it a rare and powerful moment — the justice system standing tall against privilege.
But the road to this point was long and painful. Noor’s family faced scrutiny and delays. Her own character was questioned. And for years, her parents fought a battle no family should ever have to fight.
Today’s ruling won’t erase the loss, but it might offer a sense of dignity — a sign that Noor’s voice wasn’t silenced in vain. And maybe, just maybe, it shows that the tide is turning — that the lives of women in Pakistan are beginning to matter where it counts most: in the courtroom.

India’s Foreign Secretary Denies US Role in Ceasefire with Pakistan
India’s Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri, stated that the United States played no part in the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. Indian media reported this on Tuesday. His statement came despite US President Donald Trump’s repeated claims of having helped settle the ceasefire. Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, had also thanked Trump.
Last month, a deadly attack occurred in Pahalgam, located in Indian-administered Kashmir. India accused Pakistan of carrying it out, although no evidence was provided. Pakistan denied the allegations and called for an independent investigation. As tensions escalated, reports suggested that American intervention had helped ease the standoff.
Misri Denies Foreign Role in Ceasefire Talks
However, during a meeting with the Parliamentary Committee on External Affairs, led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, Misri denied any foreign mediation. “The offer for a ceasefire came from Pakistan and no other country was involved,”the Hindustan Times quoted a senior lawmaker present at the meeting as saying.
When MPs asked about Trump’s public statements, Misri responded, “New Delhi had routine talks with the US, but there was no mediation.”
This was Misri’s first appearance before the 31-member panel. The meeting lasted over three hours and included many questions directed at him.
MPs Question India’s Silence on Trump’s Claims
Press Trust of India also cited sources saying Misri “reiterated the government’s stand that the decision to stop military actions was taken at a bilateral level,” denying any third-party involvement.
Panel members questioned why India had not publicly responded to Trump’s repeated claims. One MP asked, “Trump publicly claimed at least seven times that he facilitated the ceasefire. Why was India silent?”Another asked why India had “allowed Trump to repeatedly seize the narrative.”
India Today reported that members felt “India neither involved the US in the discussions with Pakistan nor was India involved in the US’s decision to announce it.”
The Times of India added that Misri explained Trump had made his claims on social media, not through any formal channels. This, he said, made it difficult for India to respond officially.
No Signs of Nuclear Escalation
During the in-camera session, Misri also said there was no chance of “restoration of normalcy with Pakistan in the near future.”
He added that there was no “nuclear signalling” from Pakistan during the military standoff. According to the Hindustan Times, Misri said the confrontation remained “entirely in the conventional domain and involved no ‘nuclear signalling’ from the other side”.
This comes despite Defence Minister Khawaja Asif’s earlier warning of an “all-out war” and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar’s recent remark that “a nuclear war was never an option for the government.”

“Through its partnership with Karandaaz, Growtech is digitally transforming agriculture by empowering farmers, especially smallholders and women, expanding rural market access, and building Pakistan’s leading platform for inclusive, sustainable, and technology-driven farming growth,” said Faisal Bilal, CEO, Growtech.
“Karandaaz is committed to driving financial inclusion, and agriculture remains one of the most financially underserved sectors in Pakistan while being the cornerstone of Pakistan’s economy. Supported Card Scheme
JazzCash offers a wide range of card payment support and is integrated with MasterCard Payment Gateway Services (MPGS) to amuse its esteemed clients and merchants.
It leverages its MPGS’s features to offer banks, partners, and merchants a distinctive and excellent worldwide payments solution.
Here are a few advantages:
You have complete control over the whole payment process.
It connects to any website, call center, billing system, application, or Interactive Voice Response (IVR).
The scheme enables the merchant to interact with the MasterCard Payment Gateway directly and then use JazzCash to get a real-time answer to the API call. The payer stays in the merchant’s application during this synchronous connection.
Supports advanced MasterCard Payment Gateway operations such as capture, refund, void and queries where the payer is not directly involved.
Tokenisation
JazzCash allows merchants to store customers’ card payment details by generating a token linked to their customer profile. This token is created by the MasterCard Payment Gateway Solution (MPGS) upon a valid request from JazzCash after a complete authorisation process.
The token effectively replaces the actual card details in the transaction request sent to the payment gateway. Here are some benefits of this system:
Since the payment gateway manages the sensitive card information collected from the customer, merchants face fewer PCI compliance requirements.
If the token is saved alongside the customer’s data, it can be reused when the customer returns for another purchase.
This process improves the payment experience for customers, as they do not have to enter their complete card details each time they make a purchase.
Merchants receive notifications from the gateway regarding any significant operations performed with the token.
Merchants have the flexibility to implement additional security measures for returning customers, such as requesting the CVV or checking 3DS verification for each transaction. This includes the ability to configure 3DS limit profile rules.
3D Secure
JazzCash supports 3D Secure for added protection during online payments.
This authentication service is designed by MPGS to protect online purchases against credit card fraud by allowing the e-commerce website to authenticate the payer before submitting an Authorisation or Pay transaction.
3DS authentication works by redirecting the payer to their card issuer, where they enter a previously registered password.
Hashing Scheme
Secure Hash is used to detect whether a transaction request and response have been tampered with.
The shared secret generated for the merchant during registration is included in the transaction message. An HMAC-SHA256 algorithm is then applied to create a secure hash. This secure hash is sent to the receiving entity along with the transaction message.
Since the receiving entity is the only other party, besides the transaction initiator, that is aware of the shared secret, it can recreate the same secure hash and compare it to the one in the request message.
If the secure hashes match, the receiving entity will proceed with processing the transaction. However, if they do not match, it indicates that the transaction request may have been tampered with, and the receiving entity will halt processing, returning an error message.
This security feature is recommended to protect transactions, but it is not mandatory.
IPN Web Hook
To provide valuable features for merchants, JazzCash offers a notification system that informs them when a payment is marked as successful.
To integrate this service, merchants are required to expose a transaction status update SOAP web service that allows the Payment Gateway to update the status of transactions that are not executed immediately.
ITN Web Hook
To entertain the merchant with the useful feature of tokenisation, JazzCash provides the merchant a way to be notified about the crucial operations.
To integrate with it, the merchant will be required to expose a Rest based Api for the Payment Gateway to update the status of the token.
