Atlas Honda Expands Lineup with Launch of CG150 and New EV Scooter

Atlas Honda launched two new two-wheelers in Pakistan: the CG150 motorcycle and the Honda ICON e electric scooter, which represent a decisive change in Pakistan’s two-wheeler market.

For years, Pakistan’s top motorcycle manufacturer has seen very little lineup revision. Now, with increased customer demand, shifting government policy, and the need to update its local products, Honda is investing in both conventional and green mobility.

CG150: A Real Upgrade in the 150cc Segment

Shattering a six-year track record of cosmetic changes to current bikes, the CG150 is a truly new bike. It has a 150cc 4-stroke SOHC engine with an integral balancer shaft (like the CB150F) to minimise engine vibration.

The motorcycle also features a self-start and kick-start, all-forward 5-speed transmission, front disc and rear drum brake, and a Combined Braking System (CBS) for better safety.

The CG150’s styling is a tribute to the past but infuses modern style. It features a circular LED headlamp, matte green-painted fuel tank with golden badging, chrome fenders, and black alloy wheels.

The metre has digital and analogue displays. Its flat, cushioned seat and exposed frame provide a rugged yet traditional image, appealing to riders who prioritise reliability and visual personality.

Market Position and Competitive Pricing

The ex-factory price is Rs459,900. It is set to compete with Yamaha YBR 125 DX and Suzuki GS150. Although at a slightly higher price than GS150, CG150 provides recent updates and Honda’s strong after-sales service network, which will appeal to those riders wanting long-term reliability.

In addition to CG150, Honda also launched the Icon e electric scooter, its inaugural EV model specifically designed for local markets. At a price of Rs419,900, it aligns with Pakistan’s National EV Policy (NEVP) and indicates growing consumer demand for green urban mobility.

Although local features are not yet revealed, the Indonesian model (Honda EM1 e) features such as lithium-ion swappable batteries, max speed approx. 55 km/h, range up to ~50 km, LED lighting, USB charging, and CBS brakes.

Strategic Timing & EV Market Opportunity

Atlas Honda confirmed the plan for the launch of the EV scooter through a Pakistan Stock Exchange filing, declaring that road testing and quality checks are done, and coordination with regulators continues in order to have a seamless rollout in this fiscal year.

The debut coincides with Pakistan’s wider EV initiative, which seeks to switch 30% of new cars to electric by 2030. With almost 26 million motorbikes on domestic roads, even a partial conversion to EVs could have a material impact on emissions and fuel imports.

With the unveiling of CG150, Atlas Honda finally brings a worthwhile upgrade to its domestic motorcycle range, blending timeless looks, contemporary safety, and Honda dependability. At the same time, it makes its first foray into electric mobility through the Icon e scooter, hinting at increased commitment to Pakistan’s EV transition.

As a commuter, rider, or green-conscious shopper, these launches are a significant turn in Pakistan’s two-wheeler market and double down on Honda’s vision for the next decade.

Leaked & Exposed! Rajab Butt Reacts to Scandalous Clip with TikToker Zara Malik

Rajab Butt
While Rajab has tried to shed some light on the leak, Zara Malik has chosen to keep her lips sealed regarding her supposed involvement.

Controversial YouTuber Rajab Butt is once again facing a wave of public backlash after a series of leaked videos made their way onto social media, revealing some pretty unsettling content involving him and his close friends.

Several clips that allegedly show Rajab Butt with his usual crew, Haider Shah, Maan Dogar, and Shazi, have gone viral. These explicit videos, with some reportedly containing nudity and compromising situations, are causing quite a stir on platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and Telegram.

The uproar over this controversial content has only pushed the influencer further into the scandalous spotlight.

Claims of Hacking Dismissed by the Public

In a rush to shape the story, Rajab Butt and his friends claimed they were victims of a targeted cyberattack. They alleged that their private data was hacked and leaked without their permission. However, the public seems to be quite sceptical about their claims.

Many social media users are speculating that the leak might have come from Rajab Butt’s circle, possibly due to some fallout or betrayal among friends. This theory gained momentum after sharp-eyed netizens noticed inconsistencies in the group’s timeline and interactions over the past few weeks.

Zara Malik and Rajab Butt’s Relationship Sparks Further Speculation

It seems like the drama just keeps unfolding! Now, all eyes are on TikToker Zara Malik, who’s rumoured to be romantically involved with Rajab Butt. A viral video of Butt and Malik has further added to the fuel. In the video, both are seen embracing each other on the cheeks.

There are whispers that they might even be living together in the UAE, and this speculation is fueled by sightings of the pair at various events, often dressed in matching outfits.

The undeniable chemistry between Rajab and Zara during these outings has sparked chatter about a potential deeper connection, maybe even an affair. Social media sleuths have been busy compiling side-by-side videos and photos that appear to back up these rumours, leading to a flurry of comments, likes, and shares in just a matter of hours.

Is the Viral Clip With Zara Malik Real or AI-Generated?

The authenticity of the particular clip that’s been making waves online is still up for debate. Many analysts and influencers are suggesting that the video could be AI-generated, which is becoming a troubling trend in the world of digital defamation.

Regardless of whether it’s real or not, this clip has certainly taken a toll on both Rajab and Zara’s reputations. The blurry boundaries between what’s true and what’s digitally altered only add to the confusion, leaving fans and critics alike in a state of uncertainty.

Gun Attack at Rajab Butt’s Residence Raises Security Concerns

Amid the escalating online uproar, real-life violence made its presence felt. Earlier this month, unknown gunmen targeted Rajab Butt’s home in the Chung area of Lahore. The assailants, who were reportedly on a motorcycle, fired shots in the dead of night before vanishing into the darkness.

Thankfully, there were no injuries reported since the house was empty at the time. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage, and the Lahore police have committed to tracking down those responsible. This incident only deepens the intrigue surrounding Butt’s controversial life.

Rajab Butt’s Recent Trail of Scandals: From “295” Perfume to Religious Disputes

This isn’t the first time Rajab Butt has faced public outrage. His “295” perfume line stirred up a storm among religious communities, with many accusing him of being insensitive and blasphemous. The backlash was so intense that it led to nationwide protests, social media bans, and even death threats.

Given these threats, Butt had previously left Pakistan, citing concerns for his safety. Now, as he steps back into the spotlight only to find himself in yet another scandal, it raises some serious questions about whether he can really avoid controversy or if these incidents are just calculated moves for more fame.

Zara Malik’s Silence Ignites More Curiosity

While Rajab has tried to shed some light on the leak, Zara Malik has chosen to keep her lips sealed regarding her supposed involvement. This silence has only fueled the media storm, with both fans and critics interpreting her lack of comment as a clever PR strategy or a sign of guilt.

This ambiguity has sparked even more digging from gossip sites, online news platforms, and YouTubers eager for the next big story. Now, every post, like, and comment from her social media is under the microscope, with everyone searching for hidden clues.

Was Dua Zehra Planning to Marry Babar Azam?

was-dua-zehra-planning-to-marry-babar-azam

Pakistani actress Dua Zehra has come forward to set the record straight about her comments that ignited a wave of controversy involving Babar Azam, the former captain of the Pakistan cricket team.

In a recent podcast, it seems her words were taken out of context online, leading to a flurry of discussions across various social media platforms.

Her Words Were Taken Out of Context

Dua Zehra shared that she had been hesitant to discuss the issue because of the overwhelming public response. Still, she made it clear that her comments had been taken out of context, which sparked unfounded rumours about her feelings for Babar Azam. “I said something different, but it was interpreted in another way,” she explained.

Clear Admiration for the Cricketer, Not a Proposal

The rising star of the acting world made it clear that she holds Babar Azam in high regard, and it’s all about his incredible cricketing talent. She firmly stated that she never expressed any wish to marry the famous batsman, saying, “I admire him for his game. I never said I wanted to marry him.”

With this statement, she hopes to put an end to the rumours that have linked her romantically to the cricketer.

Family Reaction and Proof of Innocence

Dua Zehra went on to explain how these misquotes upset her family. To set the record straight, she even showed them the original video clips to prove that she hadn’t said anything inappropriate. This misinformation didn’t just hurt her public image; it also took a toll on her personal life.

A Lighthearted Comment Turned Controversial

She admitted that she once joked about having a crush on Babar Azam, but she made it clear that it was all in good fun and just a sign of admiration, not a serious declaration or proposal. Her respect was directed at his impressive performance and sportsmanship, nothing more than a professional appreciation.

Master Changan Becomes the Third Biggest Car Brand in Pakistan

Source: Dawn

In June 2025, Master Changan Motors (Changan Pakistan) reached a milestone: with more than 1,936 units sold, it surpassed traditional marques like Honda and took the third position in Pakistan’s automobile market, just behind Suzuki and Toyota.

This rise indicates Changan’s fast growth ever since it entered the Pakistani market in 2018. For consumers and industry observers alike, the move marks shifting brand allegiances, increasing Chinese car presence, and dynamic competition that is redefining the market.

Source: Business Recorder

Sales Surge and Market Ranking

Numbers from industry reports and social media authentication validate that Changan Pakistan alone sold over 1,936 units in the month of June, led by robust demand for its Alsvin sedan and Oshan X7 SUV.

Overall, Changan sold more than 56,000 units in Pakistan since its launch, 13,391 of them in FY 2025. Such performance helped Changan to edge out Honda and become the third-highest-selling car brand in June 2025.

Changan’s hit products are the Alsvin small sedan and Oshan X7 SUV, both assembled locally by Master Changan Motors Ltd. The Alsvin targets city drivers with a 1.5L engine, dual-clutch automatic, sunroof, and safety features for PKR 4.15M to 4.99M.

The Oshan X7 SUV attracts customers looking for family room and tech: 7-speed DCT, adaptive cruise control, 360° cameras, and trendy interiors. They balance affordability with features that appeal to Pakistani consumers.

Strategic Partnerships & Local Manufacturing

Master Changan Motors is a joint venture between Master Motors Pakistan and Changan Automobile China. Its 2018 Karachi plant has an annual production capacity of 30,000 units and localises assembly to manage costs.

Investments, which include a 2.5 MW solar power project, also demonstrate Changan’s focus on sustainable, high‑volume manufacturing. Export prospects to SAARC and ASEAN markets demonstrate aspirations well beyond Pakistan.

Source: Arab News

Based on PAMA figures, Suzuki and Toyota continue to lead with about 44% and 19% market share, respectively, followed by Honda and Hyundai. Changan’s achievement of becoming third-ranked shakes this pecking order, demonstrating that a Chinese model can go head-to-head with Japanese producers.

As a non-PAMA automaker, its figures don’t always appear in official statistics, but third-party sales data verify its presence.

What it Means for Pakistan’s Auto Industry

Changan’s success marks a shift: Pakistani consumers increasingly want more features, superior design, and competitive prices. Chinese players such as Changan, MG, and JAC are enjoying the boost of a benevolent auto policy, localisation, and forceful after-sales.

With Changan’s local production ramping up and models tailored to changing tastes, they’re transforming automotive competition in Pakistan. Experts predict this trend to continue if quality, inventory, and service continue to stay robust.

Master Changan Motors’ leap to the third-largest car company in Pakistan is an indication of fast brand rise, aggressive product planning, and changing consumer attitudes.

For Pakistani motorists, Master Changan brings a new choice and competitive value. For the sector, it legitimates a new world in which Chinese car manufacturers make a serious claim on emerging markets, and are soon likely to challenge for the leadership positions.

Snapchat will Now Notify Your Friends When You’re Home Safely

snapchat-will-now-notify-your-friends-when-youre-home-safely

We all have that one friend who asks us to text when we get home safely, but how many times do we forget to do it? Trust me, it’s not just you. The good news is, Snapchat has now taken the responsibility to notify your friend on your behalf. This comes after it introduced an AI chatbot a while back.

Snapchat quietly transformed its safety features with the rollout of “Home Safe,” a one-time alert designed to let friends and family know you’ve made it home safely.

Announced on July 24, 2025, this update integrates seamlessly into Snap Map and adds peace of mind for users heading home after a night out, a date, or travel. For readers curious about how social apps handle real-world safety, this breakdown reveals how the feature works and why it matters.

How the “Home Safe” Feature Works

To activate Home Safe, you first need to set your home location through Snap Map: tap your Bitmoji, choose “My Home”, and save the address. When you’re on your way home, open your friend’s chat you already share your location with, tap the Map icon, and choose “Home Safe.”

When Snapchat recognises you’ve reached the location, it sends a single alert to that contact; no need to click and send. When the message is sent, the notification turns off automatically so you won’t be bothered with repeated messages.

Snapchat designed Home Safe with privacy foremost in mind. You can only send the alert to people you already share your location with. Snap Map location sharing is turned off by default. That is to say, your location is private unless you intentionally choose otherwise.

Only friends that you’ve specifically added can receive your Home Safe alert, and it only sends once per activation, not continuous tracking or broadcast to your network.

Real-World Situations Where this Can Help

The feature assists real-life safety situations: coming home from a first date, walking alone late at night, or finishing a concert or weekend escape. Snapchat presents it as a means to alleviate loved ones’ anxiety without halting your itinerary.

Rather than texting “I’m home,” a discreet notification verifies your presence. That ease can prove quite a difference, particularly for users who often travel alone or late at night.

Snapchat’s Home Safe sits in a category of its own among safety features based on location. Unlike sharing Live Location or Life360, it provides very limited tracking and is purely opt-in per trip. Unlike Apple’s Check In feature, it does not share ETA or route in full. It rather delivers a light-touch solution: one-time, silent, and controlled.

This methodology is designed to respect privacy while providing real-world reassurance.

Why it Matters for Snapchat

Snap Map currently has more than 400 million monthly active users. Home Safe goes beyond social discovery or friend location utility. It brings Snapchat closer to the realities of use cases in the real world, assisting users in day-to-day safety.

As platforms embrace personal well-being features, Snapchat makes a move into an expanding category of safety-centric features in social media.

snapchat-will-now-notify-your-friends-when-youre-home-safely
Source: Techbooky

Snapchat’s Home Safe feature is a thoughtful, low-effort way to let someone know you’ve arrived home without a text or manual update. It prioritises privacy by limiting alerts to shared contacts, disabling automatically after use, and avoiding continuous tracking.

For users who walk home late, ride-sharing alone, or use the app to connect under social conditions, it offers practical reassurance. This step demonstrates Snapchat moving from ephemeral snaps to a platform that looks to care about actual well-being. With Home Safe, checking in is safer, easier, and more intelligent.

The Psychology Behind the ‘Sunday Scaries’: Why Sundays Feel So Heavy

why-sundays-feel-so-heavy-the-psychology-behind-the-sunday-scaries

We give our all for 5 days a week (if it’s 6 days, then respectfully, that’s criminal), get burned out, and then the weekend arrives. Finally, the pressure to meet the deadlines is temporarily gone, and no more surviving corporate politics. But then, in the blink of an eye, Sunday rolls in.

A knot tightens in the stomach, everything feels annoying, and a weird hollow feeling creeps in. The type of feeling that feels like time is running out, and the rest never really arrived.

The not-exactly-clinical diagnosis for this late-weekend malaise is the Sunday Scaries, a term that has risen to prominence in the past decade or so. Why? Because we are running a 21st-century workforce in a 20th-century-based system that is made to increase Monday dread.

monday-hatred
Monday hatred

Sunday Scaries and the Anticipation of Stress

From a psychological standpoint, Sunday Sadness is a cocktail of anticipatory anxiety, emotional fatigue, and unprocessed stress. The term is more than a cute alliteration; it can be a type of anticipatory anxiety, which is defined by the American Psychological Association as apprehension about an upcoming event or situation because of the possibility of a negative outcome, such as danger, misfortune, or adverse judgment by others.

This is much more everyday in Urban cities that never sleep, and people are always ahead, chasing money and perfection.

Yes, urban living feeds our adrenaline. There’s always something to do, somewhere to be, someone to become. Monday through Friday, we’re machines. And then Saturday hits, and suddenly we’re supposed to switch it all off? Not so easy.

The pressure to rest becomes another item on our mental to-do list.

Studies reveal that more than one in three professionals experience the “Sunday Scaries” each week. In other words, over 60% of working professionals feel this creeping anxiety, and about 40% say it has worsened since the COVID-19 pandemic.

Therapists note that high-functioning individuals often feel a sense of dread as they look toward the week ahead, especially when their work-life balance is out of sync.

A LinkedIn survey of 3,000 American workers found that 80% experience the Sunday Scaries. For 60% of them, worrying about workload was the main trigger. Another 44% cited the struggle to balance professional and personal responsibilities. Millennials and Gen Z made up the majority of those affected.

Even physical manifestations of the Sunday Scaries can occur, and those may include:
  • A racing heartbeat
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Headaches
  • Stomach aches
  • Trouble sleeping

Can We Ease the Sunday Load?

Absolutely. While the Sunday Scaries may be common, they’re not inevitable. Here are a few things that can genuinely help:

  • Just like bedtime routines help kids sleep, Sunday rituals can ease your mind.
  • Plan your Monday (lightly) and jot down your top 3 tasks. Knowing what to expect can help reduce that sense of looming chaos.
  • Stop scrolling or doom-scrolling through work emails late Sunday. Don’t let Monday invade your weekend.
  • Schedule something you enjoy in the evening, like a show or a call with a friend, so Sunday isn’t all anxiety.

After all, Monday will come regardless. But how do you end your Sunday? That’s still in your hands.

Midtown Manhattan Shooting Leaves Five Dead

midtown-manhattan-shooting-leaves-five-dead

A gunman killed four people and then took his own life inside a New York City office tower. One more victim remains in critical condition. Mayor Eric Adams shared this update during a late-night hospital briefing.

Surveillance footage captured the shooter, Shane Tamura, stepping out of a black BMW with an M-4 rifle. He immediately entered the building and fired at a police officer. Right after that, he sprayed the lobby with bullets, according to Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch.

Next, Tamura rode the elevator to the 33rd floor. There, he continued shooting before apparently turning the gun on himself. Officers found his body next to the rifle. They also discovered a revolver, ammunition, and medication labelled with his name inside the vehicle.

Tisch confirmed his identity as Shane Tamura from Las Vegas. Although he had a history of mental illness, he legally held a firearm permit in Nevada. He drove across the country over the past few days and reached New York on Monday.

The shooting began around 6:00 pm local time. It happened at 345 Park Avenue, a busy area filled with offices and hotels. The building houses companies like Blackstone, KPMG, and the NFL.

Authorities responded quickly. They sent dozens of officers with ballistic vests and long guns. Meanwhile, police deployed a drone to scan the area during the evening rush hour.

People nearby felt shock and fear. One worker from another building broke down in tears after the lockdown ended. Another witness said the gunman moved from floor to floor as employees prepared to leave.

Mayor Adams confirmed that one of the victims was a 36-year-old NYPD officer from Bangladesh. Two more men and a woman also lost their lives. In addition, another man fights for survival in critical condition.

While no clear motive has surfaced, Tisch said Tamura appeared to act alone. She added that the FBI is assisting in the investigation.

One office worker, Shad Sakib, told AFP, “Everyone was confused with like, ‘wait, what’s going on?’ And then someone finally realised that it’s online, that someone walked in with a machine gun.”

He added, “He walked right into a building right next door. We saw the photo of him walking through the same area that I walked through to get lunch here.”

“You would think it won’t happen to you, and then it does,” Sakib concluded.

Although the U.S. faces frequent mass shootings, the constitutional right to own guns often blocks tougher laws. The Gun Violence Archive has recorded 254 mass shootings in the country this year alone.

Zohran Mamdani, a frontrunner in the mayoral race, expressed sorrow on X. He wrote, “I am holding the victims, their families, and the NYPD officer… in my thoughts.”

Ashwin Calls Out Fake Viral Quote About India-Pakistan Asia Cup Match

ashwin-slams-viral-fake-quote-on-india-pakistan-asia-cup-clash

In the ever-heated world of India-Pakistan cricket, controversy is never too far behind. But this time, it wasn’t a player’s performance or a team selection that caused a stir; it was a fake quote that falsely dragged Ravichandran Ashwin into the mix.

Fake News Sparks Firestorm

Soon after the Asia Cup 2025 schedule was announced, a post began circulating on social media featuring a provocative quote supposedly made by Ashwin.

The statement criticised the BCCI for allowing India to play Pakistan in the Asia Cup despite recent political tensions, especially when the World Championship of Legends (WCL) match between India and Pakistan was cancelled due to the same reasons.

The viral quote alleged that “small money is involved, so the World Championship of Legends got cancelled. But India is still playing against Pakistan in the Asia Cup, and BCCI hasn’t cancelled it. Because the amount of money decides the level of patriotism.”

Needless to say, the quote lit a fire on social media. Emotions ran high. Many believed the statement to be real, until Ashwin himself stepped in.

Ashwin Calls Out the Lie

Ravichandran Ashwin didn’t mince words. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he quote-tweeted the fake post with a blunt response: “Don’t associate me with this fake news. Shame on those who trigger all this.”

With that one line, the 38-year-old not only cleared the air but also reminded everyone of the dangers of believing everything on the internet.

India-Pakistan Rivalry, Still On

Ashwin’s denial comes at a time when fans on both sides of the border have been debating whether the high-profile India-Pakistan match should go ahead at all. The two teams are set to meet on September 14 in Dubai, with the tournament scheduled from September 9 to 28.

There were whispers in the Indian media that the Asia Cup might be scrapped due to political tensions. But with the full schedule now out, it’s clear that the show will go on.

Thailand and Cambodia Agree to Immediate Ceasefire

thailand-and-cambodia-agree-to-immediate-ceasefire

Thailand and Cambodia reached an immediate and unconditional ceasefire starting midnight Monday after five days of deadly conflict. The fighting forced over 300,000 people to flee their homes and killed at least 38 people, mostly civilians. As a result of diplomatic pressure, both nations agreed to de-escalate.

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim led the talks at his residence in Putrajaya. After more than two hours of discussion, he said, “This is a vital first step towards de-escalation and the restoration of peace and security,” while standing with both leaders. His role proved critical in bridging the gap between the two sides.

Meanwhile, the two countries agreed to resume direct communication and create a mechanism to implement the ceasefire. Malaysia, which currently chairs ASEAN, played a central role in making the meeting happen. In addition, the United States and China pushed both nations to attend.

Over the weekend, US President Donald Trump called both leaders. He warned them that the US would block trade deals if the violence continued. Since both countries face a 36% tariff on their goods in the US, their largest export market, the threat held strong weight.

Later, Trump posted on Truth Social, By ending this War, we have saved thousands of lives… I have now ended many Wars in just six months – I am proud to be the President of PEACE!” He also said he instructed his trade team to restart talks with both countries.

In response, Thai acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayacha praised Trump’s effort. “I thanked him from my heart for what we received from him and helped our country move beyond this crisis,” he said. “After today, the situation should de-escalate.”

The latest clash began in late May after a Cambodian soldier died in a skirmish. Soon after, both countries blamed each other and escalated the conflict. Thailand responded by launching F-16 airstrikes while both sides used heavy artillery and rockets.

Historically, the neighbours have disputed their 800-km land border for decades. However, this conflict marked their worst since the last major violence over ten years ago. Now, with the ceasefire in place, both sides hope to prevent further bloodshed and restore peace.

Stuart Broad Urges England to Rest Jofra Archer for Fifth Test

jofra-archer-eyes-test-comeback-after-long-injury-layoff

It’s not every day you see Jofra Archer back in whites, let alone steaming in with fire in his belly. After years of battling elbow and back injuries, the England pacer made a thunderous return to Test cricket, grabbing headlines and wickets alike. But should he be risked again so soon? According to Stuart Broad, the answer is a firm no.

Archer’s Electrifying Comeback

Jofra Archer’s comeback story reads like a script straight out of a sports drama. After more than four years away from Test cricket, he returned in the third Test against India and made an instant impact.

In only his third ball back, he sent Yashasvi Jaiswal packing. By the end of the match, he had bagged a five-for, helping England clinch a thrilling win at Lord’s.

His second-innings spell was especially electric, removing Jaiswal again, along with the dangerous Rishabh Pant and Washington Sundar. Archer wasn’t just back, he was roaring.

The Fourth Test Took Its Toll

Naturally, Jofra Archer was eager to keep the momentum going. He expressed his desire to play the remaining two Tests, determined to help England turn the series around.

And he did play the fourth match, putting in another solid shift. Though he picked up four wickets, his body seemed to be telling a different story. Archer looked visibly uncomfortable during the second innings, struggling through niggles as India piled on the runs.

It was a tough sight for fans, and a worrying one for those who’ve followed his injury-riddled journey.

Broad’s Take: Time to Be Smart

This is where Stuart Broad stepped in with a dose of realism.

“We can’t not have Archer for four years, bring him back and then bowl him into the ground and not see him for another four years,” Broad said.

He’s got a point. Instead of risking Archer in the final Test, Broad believes Gus Atkinson should get the nod. His argument? Atkinson hasn’t really been tested against high-quality opposition in Tests, and this is a golden opportunity to see what he’s made of.

“I think Gus Atkinson has to play. I know he has not had any workload, but we need to see him. He hasn’t been really challenged against top-level opposition in Test cricket yet,” he added.

Broad also pointed out that Brydon Carse looked “knackered” in the fourth Test, and that Josh Tongue, who played earlier in the series, could be a more natural replacement for Archer if pace is what England want.

Managing Jofra Archer with Caution

Broad’s suggestion isn’t about sidelining Archer, it’s about preserving him. The England setup knows just how precious a fully fit Jofra Archer can be. He brings pace, aggression and a spark that’s hard to replicate.

But rushing him back into back-to-back games after years out could be a dangerous gamble. Resting him now might mean having him firing in future series, something England desperately need, especially with a packed cricket calendar ahead.

Usama Mir Signs Long-Term Deal With Worcestershire

Usama Mir Signs Long-Term Deal With Worcestershire

Cricketers signing multi-year county deals isn’t exactly rare, but when a club plans three years ahead with a clear eye on residency status, you know they’re banking on something big. And that’s exactly what Worcestershire have done with Usama Mir.

The English county announced on Monday that the Pakistan international has inked a three-year contract. He’ll play as an overseas player in 2026, and from 2027 onwards, he’ll be classified as a local.

Back Where He Belongs

This isn’t unfamiliar territory for Usama Mir. He previously turned out for Worcestershire in the 2023 season and made an immediate impact, topping both the batting and bowling charts. That’s rare for a spinner.

He was supposed to return last year too, but red tape got in the way. Visa complications meant the leggie had to watch from afar as Hayden Walsh took his place. But now, with all the paperwork lined up, Usama’s ready for a long-term run.

Ashley Giles Is All In

If you’re wondering how highly the club rates him, just read what Worcestershire CEO Ashley Giles had to say: “He’s a high-calibre cricketer with the skills and temperament to make a real impact at this level.”

Giles isn’t just excited about what Mir brings on the pitch. The big takeaway is his transition to a homegrown player from 2027 onwards. For a club working within tight squad limits and overseas quotas, that’s gold.

“It gives us great flexibility in squad planning and shows our commitment to building a competitive team for the long term,” Giles added.

A T20 Journeyman With Global Experience

At 29, Usama Mir is a well-travelled cricketer. He’s worn Pakistan colours in five T20Is and 12 ODIs. But his bread and butter remains the franchise scene.

He’s been part of high-octane leagues like the Big Bash League (BBL) in Australia, The Hundred in England, and, of course, the Pakistan Super League (PSL). In total, he’s played 156 T20s, taken 178 wickets at an average of just under 23, and has an economy rate under 8. That’s impressive no matter where you bowl.

With the bat, he’s no mug either. Nearly 500 runs in T20s, not eye-popping, but handy enough to be called a bowling all-rounder.

Has Gen Z Made Trauma their Entire Personality?

has-gen-z-made-trauma-their-entire-personality

“This gives me trauma!”

I am the way I am because of my childhood trauma…”

Sounds familiar? This is the monologue of an average Gen Z in daily life. Scroll through TikTok or Instagram and you’ll find it: “My trauma response is…” insert trendy audio and a hyper-specific childhood anecdote.

But isn’t this unsettling? Since when did we normalise personal pain and experiences as everyday lingo? When did someone’s hurt become a badge of honour? Has Gen Z made trauma their whole personality?

Trauma is no longer something to process; it’s something to post. And somewhere along the way, it stopped being a stage of healing and became a core part of Gen Z’s personality.

Trauma Response or Just Misuse

Not all is black and white; there is no doubt that Gen Z has lived through one of the most difficult times. From COVID-19 to wars being waged on a random Tuesday, one can only imagine what the new normal will be for Gen Z.

Mass shootings, climate threats, political upheaval, and the COVID‑19 pandemic defined their formative years. You name it, and they would have gone through it. So, yes, it is understood that exposure to such crises must have amplified their emotional awareness.

Gen Z should be applauded for destigmatising mental health, yes. They’ve done more in five years than previous generations did in fifty. But let’s not pretend everything branded as “healing” is actually healthy. Not when every inconvenience is “trauma” and every emotion is pathologised for likes and sympathy.

It is no excuse for the current standardisation of trauma narratives. Look around you: the 15-year-olds are now engaging in trauma competition. They are indeed spotlighting minor events as deeply damaging. This can blur the line between genuine struggle and performative victimhood.

A BMC Psychology study from 2023 found this behaviour linked with higher anxiety, attention-seeking behaviour, and worsening depression.

Yes, one has the right to cope however they want, but let’s not romanticise victimhood to the point where recovery becomes irrelevant. If your trauma is your whole aesthetic, do you even want to get better?

What are the Consequences?

This romanticism comes with its cost, too. Experts warn that this can promote emotional dysregulation more than emotional healing. And the worst part of all is that the real trauma that already doesn’t seek an audience will be sidelined even more. Why? Oh, simply because it’s not “traumatic” enough.

In Pakistan, a 2022 national study found that over 80% of domestic abuse survivors never speak up. What do you think will happen once their trauma is rebranded as “aesthetic” and is competed over? They will stop mentioning it because real trauma survivors don’t have the energy to do so.

What’s more troubling is how this obsession with trauma can actually stunt emotional growth. If every toxic behaviour is excused with “It’s my trauma,” where’s the accountability? It’s just a deflection that no one will be able to point fingers at.

Rather than declaring trauma a personality quirk, society could:

  • Validate real trauma without romanticising struggle.
  • Encourage post‑traumatic growth, not perpetual identity in pain.
  • Elevate emotional literacy as a strength, not a weakness.
  • Provide systemic change in access to mental health services, economic stability, and community support.

Microsoft Unveils Copilot Mode to Reinvent Browsing in Edge

microsoft-unveils-copilot-mode-to-reinvent-browsing-in-edge

Microsoft has launched Copilot Mode for its Edge browser. It is an experimental opt-in feature packed with agentic AI tools. It offers contextual awareness across tabs, hands-free web navigation through voice commands, and a chatbot that explains your current page.

Soon, Copilot Mode will take actions like booking reservations on your behalf. It will remember your browsing history and offer smart suggestions. You’ll see this feature join tools like Perplexity, Comet and ChatGPT Agent. These new reasoning models enable agents to complete complex tasks, such as shopping or scheduling.

The move reflects a trend in which browsers are acting more like personal assistants than just search tools. Microsoft’s announcement highlights this: “There will always be clear, visual cues on your browser when Copilot is viewing or listening.” AI agents could soon manage your digital tasks more than ever before.

Privacy remains a major concern. Copilot Mode collects data for personalisation but allows control in settings. You can turn it off anytime. For advanced features, such as booking or history-based suggestions, Copilot will request your permission to access sensitive data.

Microsoft has confirmed the feature is free for now. However, it’s only for a limited time, and no end date has been shared yet. To use it, install Edge on Windows or Mac. Then visit aka.ms/copilot-mode and turn on Copilot Mode from your browser settings.

As browser wars grow, Microsoft is betting big on AI. Still, there are roadblocks. Many sites aren’t built for AI, and users worry about habits and security. Whether Copilot Mode changes how we browse the web will depend on how these issues are handled.

Confidence Among Global Accountants’ Remains Fragile Despite Q2 Rise

global
‘Nevertheless, with higher tariffs likely to push U.S. inflation higher over coming months, and as uncertainty and tariffs weigh on the U.S.

Lahore, July 28, 2025:  The ACCA and IMA Global Economic Conditions Survey (GECS) showed improving global confidence in Q2 2025, with the index reaching its highest since Q3 2024. That said, confidence among accountants is still at a low level by historical standards.

The New Orders and Capital Expenditure indices both declined modestly, although the former is at its historical average and the latter not much below,  and both are at levels broadly similar to other readings since the aftermath of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Meanwhile, the Employment Index improved and is not that far below its historical average.

Among the major regions, confidence in North America increased in Q2, following some improvement in sentiment among U.S.-based accountants; however, it remains depressed by historical standards. Western Europe saw another moderate gain in confidence aided by a further improvement in the UK from its record low in Q4 2024. By contrast, confidence fell sharply in Asia Pacific, erasing the gains made in Q1 2025. The deterioration in the backdrop for global trade, amid major changes in U.S. trade policy, was likely the key factor weighing on sentiment.

Jonathan Ashworth, Chief Economist, ACCA, said: ‘Global growth has generally proved quite resilient in the first half of 2025, despite the large increases in U.S. tariffs and massive rise in uncertainty. While the key GECS indicators are certainly not pointing to a global economy in rude health, with confidence in particular remaining low, neither are they suggesting that a major downswing is imminent.’

‘Nevertheless, with higher tariffs likely to push U.S. inflation higher over coming months, and as uncertainty and tariffs weigh on the U.S. and global economies, some slowing in global growth looks likely over the second half of 2025.’

Alain Mulder, Senior Director, Europe Operations & Global Special Projects at IMA said: ‘Global cost pressures eased according to accountants, although there are divergent regional pressures. The proportion of North American respondents reporting increased operating costs eased slightly, although it remains on the high side historically after the large increase in Q1, raising the risk that firms may attempt to raise prices over coming months.’

‘Rising inflation would complicate the task of the Federal Reserve, if slowing growth and an easing jobs market begins to increase the need for a loosening in monetary policy.’

For the first time, geopolitics topped accountants’ global risk priorities in Q2. Economic fears tied with regulatory and compliance risks as the second highest risk priority. Talent scarcity and cybersecurity remain critical but were slightly less prominent this quarter. Climate change, fraud, and supply chain risks remained lower down the agenda for respondents, suggesting a renewed focus on macro-external volatility, with boards and executives reacting to intensifying global conflicts, regulatory unpredictability and economic pressure.

Climate Change is Hitting Pakistan, and We Need to Act Fast

climate-change-is-hitting-pakistan-and-we-need-to-act-fast

Not so long ago, people thought climate change was a hoax. A global conspiracy concocted by powerful groups for nefarious reasons. These ideas were pervasive not only in backwards, uneducated societies, but also in developed countries.

While such ideas still persist, there is little doubt today that climate change, also known as global warming, is real. It is now a question of how bad it will get and what can be done to fight back.

Unfortunately, Pakistan, despite being one of the smallest contributors to global warming, is and will be one of the most affected regions of climate change.

We have already begun to feel the wrath of changing climatic patterns, and we are far from ready.

The Recent Floods are a Wake-Up Call

Pakistan finds itself in the eye of a climate storm, one it did little to cause. Ranking among the top 10 countries most affected by climate change, we are in a vulnerable geographical region.

As evidence of the impact of climate change, look no further than the recent spree of intense floods in July 2025. While monsoon rains were always unpredictable, they were never this severe or vicious decades ago.

Within days, agricultural lands turned into swamps, homes were washed away, infrastructure systems were destroyed beyond repair, and several lives were lost.

Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan were devastated in the wake of several flash floods. This wasn’t a one-off event, as flooding has become more severe and frequent.

A post shared by Brandsynario (@brandsynario)

Severe floods were “once in a decade” calamities, but climate change has turned these natural disasters into unnatural annual events.

Rising temperatures have led to intense melting of glaciers in the mountains, increasing water flow into Pakistan’s rivers. Warm and moist atmospheres, fueled by climate change, have led to heavier rainfalls.

On top of these climatic changes, Pakistan’s infrastructure system is outdated, and emergency services are unequipped to deal with such disasters. Karachites can relate to this dilemma pretty well.

Furthermore, poor urban planning and deforestation have also worsened the impact of global warming, which is not limited to heavy rainfall and floods.

Heatwaves have also grown intense in Pakistan, with temperatures reaching 50 degrees in Jacobabad. The floods also create a huge domino effect as they could potentially precipitate food shortages, disease outbreaks, and water scarcity.

How can Pakistan Deal with this Ongoing Crisis?

With vulnerable infrastructure systems, poor urban planning, and ineffective implementation of climate policies, Pakistan is not ready to battle climate change.

First and foremost, there needs to be a government-backed awareness campaign. The public needs to wake up to the realities of global warming, and should be encouraged to minimise the human contribution to changing weather patterns.

Secondly, afforestation programs should be funded, and deforestation needs to be addressed with legislation. A transition to renewable energy sources, such as solar panels, should also be encouraged.

The authorities should maintain their drainage systems, and emergency services should receive better training to respond promptly to threats. Effective garbage disposal and sloping roads could help improve drainage, too.

Lastly, this issue should be addressed at the international level. The whole world is responsible for climate change, which is why there should be global accountability.

Climate change is real, and if Pakistan continues down its current route, irreparable damage and loss of life are inevitable. We need to act fast, before it’s too late.

We will make sure the legacy and work of Zahra never goes down the drain or is forgotten. Here is her journey.

Who was Zahra Khan?

Zahra Khan, the founder of No-Nonsense Cheesecake and a breast cancer advocate known on Instagram as @heybreastie, passed away on Sunday, July 27th, 2025, after a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was already on a ventilator and had been responsive for the past three days.

Zahra publicly documented her journey with breast cancer since 2022 and became a powerful voice for cancer awareness, particularly in Pakistan.

After a period of healing, in 2024, Zahra’s cancer returned and metastasised to critical areas, including her spine and supraclavicular (neck) lymph nodes, marking a significant progression to Stage IV triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). This was one of the most aggressive and challenging forms of the disease.

She also carried the BRCA1 gene mutation, making her case more complex.

Despite these challenges, she openly shared every stage of her treatment, including chemotherapy, double mastectomy, radiation, and the emotional toll of the illness. This allowed a rare insight into what it truly means to live with metastatic cancer.

Widely admired for her culinary creativity and unflinching honesty about living with cancer, Zahra leaves behind a powerful legacy of advocacy, entrepreneurship and community-building.
