tabraiz-shamsi-plans-to-counter-babar-azam

Tabraiz Shamsi isn’t just your typical left-arm wrist spinner—he’s a personality. Whether he’s celebrating wickets with his signature theatrics or engaging with fans online, Shamsi knows how to keep things exciting.

And as South Africa gears up for their white-ball and red-ball series against Pakistan starting December 10, Shamsi has his eyes on a key target: Babar Azam.

When asked about his strategy to dismiss the world’s No.1 ODI batter, Shamsi was refreshingly candid. “I haven’t yet devised a specific plan for Babar [Azam],” he said, adding that his recent focus was on a tournament in Guyana.

But don’t mistake this for complacency. Shamsi is no stranger to Babar’s brilliance. “Having faced him before, I have an idea of what to do. He’s a great player. When I return, I’ll sit with analysts to prepare plans that help my team.”

Recently, Shamsi made headlines for turning down a central contract from the South African Cricket Board. Many speculated if this meant a shift toward franchise cricket. Not quite. For Shamsi, representing South Africa remains his top priority. “Playing for my country is the greatest honor. No franchise cricket can surpass that.”

He clarified that his decision to decline the contract was personal and emphasized his availability for national duties. “My goal in every match is to contribute, whether through my bowling or batting.”

When asked about his inspirations, Shamsi didn’t hesitate to name Saeed Ajmal. “His ability to spin the ball both ways was exceptional. Our styles are quite similar, and I studied his bowling closely.” He also admired Brad Hogg for his unique style.

Champions Trophy 2025: PM Shehbaz Sharif Applauds PCB Chief’s Bold Stance

champions-trophy-pm-shehbaz-sharif-mohsin-naqvi

Cricket is more than a game in Pakistan—it’s a passion, a point of pride, and sometimes, a stage for global diplomacy. As Pakistan gears up to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has come forward to applaud PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi’s firm stance on ensuring Pakistan’s sovereignty and pride are upheld.

In a meeting held in Islamabad, PM Shehbaz didn’t mince words, praising Naqvi for representing the voice of 240 million Pakistanis at the ICC. “Pakistan’s honour comes first, and everything else follows,” he stated. It’s clear the Prime Minister recognizes the broader implications of successfully hosting this prestigious event.

The Fusion Formula: A Compromise for Progress?

While Pakistan is raring to showcase its hosting abilities, the event is caught in a stalemate. The PCB has proposed a “fusion formula” as a way forward. This hybrid model would allow India to play its matches at neutral venues while ensuring Pakistan gets the same consideration for ICC events held in India.

It’s a fair solution, especially considering the frosty cricketing relations between the two countries. Yet, the BCCI has remained silent, leaving the ICC and fans waiting for a resolution.

Why It Matters?

For Pakistan, this is about more than just cricket—it’s about proving its mettle on the international stage. After years of being sidelined due to security concerns, hosting the Champions Trophy is a chance to show the world that Pakistan is ready to reclaim its place as a premier cricket destination.

Naqvi’s assurance to PM Shehbaz—“The PCB is fully prepared to host the tournament on home soil”—reflects this confidence. It’s a statement of intent, not just to the ICC but also to millions of cricket fans who dream of watching top-tier matches in Pakistan once again.

The ball, quite literally, is now in the BCCI’s court. Will they accept the fusion formula and move forward? Or will the stalemate drag on, leaving the ICC to make the final call?

Fakhar Zaman Breaks Silence On Fitness Rumors

pcb-issues-notice-to-fakhar-zaman-over-defending-babar-azam-pakistan-wake-up-call-before-world-cup-fakhar-zaman

Fakhar Zaman has finally addressed the elephant in the room: his fitness. The explosive left-handed opener, often hailed as a match-winner for Pakistan, was notably absent from the squad announced for the upcoming South Africa tour.

While the official narrative pointed to fitness issues, Fakhar had something different to say when asked during the Champions T20 Cup. “I’m fit, and that’s why I’m playing,” Fakhar stated confidently. His words not only challenged the claims of Pakistan’s interim white-ball head coach Aqib Javed but also raised eyebrows about the real reasons behind his exclusion.

The Fitness Debate

Fakhar’s exclusion has been a hot topic ever since the squads were announced. Aqib Javed previously mentioned that the southpaw was battling fitness problems and needed to regain form. However, Fakhar’s appearance in the Champions T20 Cup tells a different story.

Fakhar Zaman expressed his hope that he will be recalled for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and play a crucial role in Pakistan’s victories.

“I started my career at the Champions Trophy, and I’m thankful that my performances were good, and we won matches there. In this Champions Trophy, my only effort will be to play well and win games,” he stated

A Long Absence Raises Questions

Fakhar hasn’t represented Pakistan since the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in June 2024. Since then, the selection committee has overlooked him for the white-ball tours of Australia and Zimbabwe, citing fitness concerns as the main reason. Aqib Javed even stated, “Whenever he gets fit, the selection committee will definitely consider him for selection.”

Interestingly, reports suggest that Fakhar was under consideration for the South Africa tour. Yet, when the final squads were revealed, his name was missing. Aqib doubled down on the fitness angle, saying, “Fakhar Zaman was not considered as he is yet to regain form and match fitness.”

These mixed signals from the PCB and the selection committee leave fans in a state of confusion. If Fakhar is fit enough to play domestic T20 cricket, why isn’t he fit enough for national duty?

The ministry also introduced the Hajj 2025 policy, which allows pilgrims to pay their Hajj fees in instalments. The first instalment of Rs200,000 ($717) must be paid with the application and the second instalment of Rs400,000 ($1,435) is due within ten days of the balloting. The remaining amount is due by Feb10 next year. Overseas Pakistanis can also sponsor their relatives to perform the pilgrimage. Navigating Relationships in the Digital Age: Dating Apps and Beyond

Navigating Romantic Relationships in the Digital Age

Gone are the days when you’d pen down a romantic letter for your loved one; today, you swipe right, send a message and call it a day.

The nature of romantic relationships has drastically changed in the past decade due to the role of digital technology. Finding love is no longer about meeting someone in a coffee shop or through mutual friends. Dating apps have unfortunately taken away this spontaneity and intrigue. Online dating has come a long way since chat rooms; today, thousands of dating apps are available worldwide. These apps cater to people with all sorts of preferences. Whether you are dating to marry or just exploring your options, there is an app that caters exactly to your needs.

Dating Apps
Dating Apps

But Why Dating Apps?

The increase in the use of dating apps has been caused due to several reasons but one defines all: the ever-evolving technology that is slowly taking over our lives. We no longer travel, communicate, work or even eat the same way we used to a decade ago, so why shall we date the same way?

With dating apps comes the opportunity to meet people you wouldn’t meet otherwise. Back in the day, if you didn’t have a social circle, were too shy to approach someone new or lived in a small town, you’d probably end up getting married to whoever your family wanted you to. But dating apps have solved this problem like it never existed. As long as you know what you’re looking for, you can easily connect with potential partners with similar interests, values and goals. The best part is, that you get plenty of time to know the person before you take the big decision.

Online Dating in Pakistan

In Pakistan, where arranged marriages have been a norm since the beginning of time, dating apps are slowly taking over. However, this doesn’t mean that online dating is no longer peculiarly looked at, sometimes even considered borderline taboo.

In times like these, Muzz has proven to be the hero of dating apps in Pakistan. Branding itself as a ‘marriage app’ rather than a dating app, Muzz is the new ‘halal’ way to online date. Ever since its introduction, Muzz has attracted millions of Pakistanis from every corner,  with almost 15,000 marriages resulting from the platform since its launch.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Muzz | South Asia (@muzz_desi)

What makes Muzz different from the rest of the dating apps is its almost halal approach. The app allows users to blur their profile pictures and even share message transcripts with a relative like they were ACTUALLY there!

Too Good to be True?

If you often find yourself contemplating whether you should create an account, you’re not the only one. Despite the popularity of dating apps in Pakistan and all over the world, the risk of being ghosted is unavoidable. You could be talking to someone every day and wake up to them blocking you and disappearing. The uncertainty is unavoidable. If that isn’t bad enough, creating fake identities and using someone else’s images to catfish isn’t out of the question either.

The rise in dating apps worldwide is showing a clear shift in the attitude of those looking for a romantic relationship. However, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Now you decide: do you want to write a letter or swipe right?

PTA Eases VPN Registration Process For Freelancers

VPN registration from mobile

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has made it easier for freelancers to register VPNs against mobile numbers, even without static IP addresses. PTA stated, “This step simplifies the VPN registration process for the IT industry,” on Saturday. However, PTA has registered over 31,000 VPNs so far.

The Ministry of Interior had planned to shut down unregistered VPNs by mid-November. They later offered a two-week “grace period” for unregistered VPNs to meet registration requirements. Chairman Maj Gen (Retd) Hafeez Ur Rehman confirmed the extension and said the government decided to grant more time.

The PTA urges users to register VPNs on its website. PTA, according to sources, has emphasised that VPN registration is crucial for enhancing cybersecurity and ensuring national security and data protection.

VPN registration process

The VPN registration process involves completing an online form and providing basic details, including computerised national identity card (CNIC), company registration details and taxpayer status.

PTA has stated that freelancers must submit documentions such as an email or a letter to verify their projects or company associations. Additionally, applicants must provide the IP address for VPN connectivity. If a fixed IP address is required, it can be acquired from an Internet Service Provider (ISP).
