Rishabh Pant did everything right—almost. He walked out to bat in both innings of the Headingley Test, took on England’s bowlers with trademark flair, and walked off with a century each time. But in the end, India still lost.
And with that, Pant joined one of Test cricket’s most heartbreaking clubs—players who scored centuries in both innings of a Test but ended up on the losing side.
Heroic Numbers, Hollow Result
Pant’s performance at Headingley was nothing short of exceptional.
In the first innings, he smashed 134 off 178 balls, a knock filled with 12 boundaries and six mighty sixes. Then came the encore—118 off 140 deliveries in the second innings, with 15 fours and three sixes.
Two centuries. Back-to-back brilliance. And yet, no match-winning reward.
The List You Don’t Want to Be On
With this feat, Pant became only the fourth Indian ever—and the 12th player in history—to score twin tons in a Test that ended in defeat.
Here’s the full list of elite names in this unfortunate club:
George Headley (v England, 1939)
Vijay Hazare (v Australia, 1948)
Clyde Walcott (v Australia, 1955)
Sunil Gavaskar (v Pakistan, 1978)
Andy Flower (v South Africa, 2001)
Brian Lara (v Sri Lanka, 2001)
Andrew Strauss (v India, 2008)
Hashim Amla (v India, 2010)
Virat Kohli (v Australia, 2014)
Brendan Taylor (v Bangladesh, 2018)
Rishabh Pant (v England, 2025)
It’s a list filled with cricketing royalty—legends who stood tall, even when their teams crumbled.
A Match That Slipped Away
India had set a challenging target of 371, and at one point, the match felt poised for a classic finish.
But England had other ideas. Ben Duckett’s 149 off 170 turned the tide, and contributions from Joe Root (53)* and Jamie Smith (44)* sealed a memorable five-wicket win for the hosts.
This run chase became the second-highest ever at Headingley, a ground where history loves to surprise us.

Cricket fans, take a deep breath — Jofra Archer is back in business, and he’s setting his sights firmly on Test cricket. After what feels like an eternity of injury setbacks and false starts, the England pacer has finally put in a full day of red-ball cricket.
“I Made It to Stumps – That’s a Win!”
Speaking after day two of Sussex’s County Championship match at Chester-le-Street, Archer didn’t try to sugarcoat the experience. The day was long. The pitch was flat. And the grind was real.
“Today could have been the longest day I’ve ever had — and not because it’s red-ball cricket,” Archer joked. “I’ve been in the field for two-and-a-half days before, and it still didn’t feel as long as today.”
But despite the punishing conditions, the 29-year-old fast bowler was all smiles. After his last first-class outing ended before tea in 2021, simply making it through the day felt like a huge milestone.
“I’m glad to just finish a day of four-day cricket,” he said. “This is progress.”
No More Restrictions
Jofra Archer also revealed that there were no workload limitations placed on him by England’s medical team — a sign that he’s being seriously considered for Test selection again.
“You can’t have restrictions if you’re potentially going to go in [for a Test match]. You put your body through as much pressure — safely — as possible to put yourself in the best position,” he explained.
It’s a notable shift in tone from a player who, not long ago, was feared to be lost to the Test format due to chronic elbow and back issues.
The ‘Kitchen Cut’ That Delayed His Return
Adding to the long list of Archer’s unlucky breaks was a fractured thumb, sustained while batting during the IPL. But in classic Jofra fashion, he brushed it off with good humour.
“If you get cut in the kitchen with a knife, no one’s going to call it an injury. It’s similar with my thumb. I just got hit while batting, as we do all the time, but unfortunately, it got fractured,” he said.
“It just happened to be my bowling hand, so I had to give it care. If it was my left thumb, I could have carried on and no one would know.”
The thumb fracture delayed his County return, but he’s now back on the field — bowling without pain, without fear, and without excuses.
Four Years, Countless Setbacks
It’s been more than four years since Jofra Archer last played a Test — back during England’s 2020–21 tour of India. Since then, he’s battled a string of injuries that would’ve pushed many players into early retirement. But not Archer.
“Injuries are injuries. Nobody gets injured on purpose, no one knows when they will happen — it can be in the gym, in rehab, pre-hab, or whatever,” he said.
“If you’re supposed to get injured, there’s nothing you can do to get away from it.”

The Pakistan hockey team is all set to return to the FIH Pro League! Yes, you read it right. It’s not official yet—but it’s close. And for Pakistan hockey fans, it’s the kind of news that brings a flicker of hope to a sport that once ruled the world in green and white.
From Near-Miss to a Second Chance
After falling to New Zealand in the final of the FIH Nations Cup, Pakistan’s hopes of returning to top-tier international hockey were dashed—or so it seemed.
But sport is full of surprises. With New Zealand pulling out of the FIH Pro League due to financial constraints, the vacant spot now looks set to be handed to Pakistan, the runners-up at the Nations Cup.
According to sources close to the matter, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) has officially approached the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) with an invitation to join the 2024–25 Pro League season.
Why This Is a Big Deal?
The FIH Pro League is hockey’s version of the big leagues, featuring only the highest-ranked teams like Australia, Netherlands, Germany, India, and Argentina. It’s not just a tournament; it’s a lifeline for consistent, high-intensity international exposure.
For Pakistan, participation would mean:
Regular matches against the best in the world
Greater visibility for the sport at home
A realistic shot at climbing the international rankings
And most importantly, a chance to restore pride in a once-dominant hockey legacy
Let’s not forget—Pakistan is still the most successful nation in World Cup history with four titles. But that glory feels like a distant memory now.
A Bitter Defeat, a Surprising Opportunity
Pakistan’s campaign at the FIH Nations Cup in Malaysia was promising… until it wasn’t. They started strong and marched into the final with hope and momentum. But the final against New Zealand turned into a nightmare, ending in a 6-2 defeat.
Despite disallowed goals early on, the Black Sticks found their rhythm and raced to a 5-0 lead by halftime. Pakistan’s only real spark came through Zikriya Hayat and Sufyan Khan, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.
Missed penalty corners—five of them—proved costly. That game exposed the team’s inexperience under pressure but also showed flashes of talent that, with the right nurturing, could blossom.
From Heartbreak to Hope
Now, thanks to New Zealand’s exit, Pakistan may have just stumbled upon a golden ticket to the FIH Pro League.
Under FIH rules, when a Pro League team pulls out, the next-in-line team from the Nations Cup is offered the vacant spot. That’s exactly the door that’s opened for Pakistan—and this time, it’s up to them to walk through it with purpose.
While the formal announcement is still awaited, all signs point to Pakistan’s return to the Pro League fold. If confirmed, it could kick off a fresh chapter in Pakistan hockey—a long-overdue revival that fans have been waiting years for.

This year has been pretty eventful to say the least (asked for a summer glow-up, not a blowup). Now that the world spirals on the edge of War, what is the safest country to travel to?
Here is the list of the safest countries to visit right now, where your biggest worry might just be which flavour of gelato to try next.
List of Safest Countries to Visit Right Now
Thanks to the 2025 Global Peace Index and expert assessments, we now have a clearer idea of where you can travel.
Iceland
Iceland has earned a reputation as one of the most peaceful countries in the world. It’s topped the Global Peace Index for 17 years straight and for good reason.
With its low crime rates, virtually non-existent military presence and tight-knit community culture, Iceland is a haven for solo travellers, families, and couples alike.
Add to that its breathtaking waterfalls, volcanic landscapes and northern lights.
Denmark
Denmark is ranked as the world’s sixth most peaceful country based on the GPI societal safety and security domain. The Danish are trusting and community-oriented, and it shows.
It is ranked as the country with the best quality of life in the world through factors like cost of living, job markets and quality of healthcare.
Ireland
Ireland is ranked within the top five countries in the militarisation domain, and the second most peaceful country overall.
The country has quietly become one of the most peaceful places to visit in Europe. There’s a deep respect for personal freedom, low levels of violent crime and a society that places a high value on diplomacy and neutrality.
Plus, the rolling hills, ancient castles and hearty conversations at local pubs will remind you that sometimes, joy is as simple as a pint of Guinness and a live fiddle tune.
New Zealand
New Zealand is not just safe but also almost utopian. With strong institutions, low crime, and a fierce love for the natural world, the country continues to impress as a secure and beautiful destination.
It ranks second in the Global Peace Index and has taken a neutral stance on most conflicts. The country’s mountainous terrain makes it easier for citizens to be protected.
Whether you’re hiking through Middle-earth-esque landscapes or soaking in a geothermal spring, NZ feels like a peaceful planet of its own.
Malaysia
While some parts of Asia remain tense due to regional conflicts, Malaysia is proving to be a beacon of balance. With a stable political environment, low crime rates, and strong communal harmony, Malaysia is a breath of fresh air.
From the vibrant streets of Kuala Lumpur to the serene islands of Langkawi and the cultural depth of Penang, Malaysia is both safe and full of soul.
Plus, it’s incredibly traveller-friendly and affordable. In a time when many seek comfort without compromising on culture, Malaysia delivers both with heart.
Austria
Austria often flies under the radar, but it’s a top-tier choice for travellers who want safety without sacrificing culture. Due to low levels of internal conflict and excellent public services, the country is like that one friend who has their life completely together.
The Most Important Takeaway
In a year where headlines are dominated by war, climate disasters, and rising authoritarianism, travel can feel like a risky gamble. But it doesn’t have to be. These countries show us that peace, safety, and joy still exist.
That said, the label “safest countries to visit right now” is never one-size-fits-all. Always check travel advisories, be aware of local laws and customs, and use common sense on the ground. Even in the safest countries, awareness is your best companion.

Lawmaker and self-described democratic socialist, 33-year-old state representative Zohran Mamdani, is about to win New York City’s Democratic mayoral primary, defeating former Governor Andrew Cuomo.
After calling Mamdani to congratulate him, Cuomo, 67, accepted the race and said, “Tonight is his evening.” Four years after quitting over claims of sexual harassment, Cuomo was searching for a comeback.
Zohran Mamdani on Twitter
While nine other Democratic candidates fell far behind, Mamdani led Cuomo 43.5% to 36.4% with 95% of ballot scanners reporting. Though ranked-choice voting delays final results, Mamdani’s lead appears too strong for others to catch up.
The system allows voters to pick up to five candidates. In each round, votes from the lowest-ranked are transferred until one candidate reaches 50%.
City Comptroller Brad Lander, who placed third with 11.6%, had urged his supporters to rank Mamdani second. That alliance could help him widen his lead even further in the remaining rounds. The race became a reflection of where Democrats stand under Republican President Donald Trump’s second term.
Andrew Cuomo, backed by Bill Clinton and Michael Bloomberg, ran as a moderate supported by the party establishment. He positioned himself as a progressive challenger calling for change.
“I think it’s time for someone young, a person of colour, something different,” said 28-year-old actor Ignacio Tambunting, who voted for Mamdani. Another voter, Leah Johanson, 39, also ranked Mamdani first, despite concerns he might be “too liberal.” She said, “I’m not gonna vote for a man who is credibly accused of molesting females.” Johanson lives in Queens, the same borough as Mamdani.
Cuomo has denied the harassment accusations, which he has characterised as ill-conceived attempts to be affectionate or humorous. Still, he struggled to recover from the damage. While Mamdani highlighted those accusations, Cuomo fired back by questioning Mamdani’s lack of experience.
Mamdani is now likely the leading candidate for November’s general election. Current Mayor Eric Adams, running as an independent, has lost support due to corruption scandals and perceived connections to Trump. The Republican candidate, Curtis Sliwa, who founded the Guardian Angels patrol group, lost to Adams in 2021.
Mamdani and Lander’s mutual support helped them appeal to progressive voters. Lander also made headlines last week when police briefly detained him for helping someone leave immigration court.

Spanish Latte has become a popular drink of choice for many coffee lovers. Unlike the regular latte, it is much sweeter with a higher content of condensed milk, giving it a uniquely sweet flavour with a hint of bitterness from the coffee. It is usually on the menu of every coffee house in major cities like Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad.
While the taste of every drink is subjective, there are certain qualities possessed by a good Spanish Latte. The quality of condensed milk, texture, consistency, and the delicate balance between bitterness and sweetness can impact the experience of drinking the coffee.
A reasonable price or a discounted rate is a bonus that is likely to affect consumer choice. The focus of this article is Karachi, where we will attempt to list the best Spanish Lattes in town based on popular reviews.
Froth- The Coffee Bar
As mentioned previously, A good Spanish Latte achieves the delicate balance between bitterness and sweetness, an art, Froth, a coffee shop located in DHA and KDA, has mastered.
In addition, their prices, compared to other coffee spots, provide great value for money. Considering the low price and good texture, it is no wonder that their Iced Lavender Spanish Latte is a local favourite.
Melbrew is one of the largest coffee chains in Karachi, spread across various locations in the city. Their Iced Spanish Latte has mostly received positive reviews, with some customers highlighting inconsistent quality.
Most coffee lovers are impressed by the high quality of beans used in their brews. The interior design of the outlets has also captivated customers, with the ambience enhancing the overall coffee experience.
Unlike other coffee bars, Apollo Coffee’s location in Clifton is away from the congested and polluted streets of Karachi, riddled with traffic and noise pollution. Their unique setting creates a comfortable ambience for coffee lovers who just want to chill and enjoy the thing they love the most.
Drinking an Iced Spanish Latte at Apollo is a great way to cool off and relax. As for the flavour profile, common reviews indicate that the taste could be milky for some, but it has received positive reviews too.
Karachi has always been known for its spicy street food. Biryani with aloo, beef nihari, seekh kabab, fish, and bun kabab are specialities that Karachiites have enjoyed for generations.
While local cuisine still flourishes, a new trend is seeing a rapid rise of coffee bars, such as Froth and Apollo. Although all age groups are welcome, Gen Z seems to be their target audience.
If I had to pick a favourite, it would be Melbrew. Their Spanish Latte is a staple, loved by many, and never disappoints. Go grab yours now!

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and his crew for revealing India’s false propaganda on an international platform during a meeting on Tuesday in Islamabad. He lauded their diplomatic efforts undertaken on travels to Europe and the US.
Shehbaz welcomed a dinner in their honour and reported the delegation overseas. He stated that the delegation led by Bilawal Bhutto represented Pakistan with “great national zeal” and came back “victorious.” He said their efforts are now being recognised all over the world.
The PM commended other Committee Members Sherry Rehman, Dr. Musadik Malik, Hina Rabbani Khar, Senator Bushra Anjum Butt, Senator Faisal Sabzwari, Engineer Khurram Dastgir, Jalil Abbas Jilani, and Tehmina Janjua.
He remarked that they all stood for Pakistan’s position with “tremendous national spirit,” in the US, UK, and Europe. “The delegation gave the events starting from Pahalgam incident to the Indus Waters Treaty in an accurate perspective.”
He also stated that “by the grace of Allah Almighty, the prayers of the nation and the military might of our valiant armed forces, India had to pay a heavy price for its ungrounded war hysteria.”

At this point, somebody needs to say it: Just because a celebrity is famous, it doesn’t mean they will prove to be the best entrepreneurs, like their success in showbiz.
In today’s world, being a celebrity isn’t just about acting or singing anymore. It has become a rat race, two days in, and people already start launching their brands, thinking fame will make up to the lack of USP in their brand and skyrocketing prices.
But here’s the thing: not all Pakistani celebrities brands are made equal. Some are thriving with real effort and quality, and others? Uhhhh, let’s just say they’re surviving on fan loyalty alone.
Best and Worst Pakistani Celebrities Brands
From makeup to fashion to perfumes and even food joints, Pakistani celebrities are entering every niche, every category with their brands but are they doing well? Now it’s time to rate them.
Sniff, I smell tea!
M By Mahira Khan
M by Mahira Khan isn’t just your typical celebrity perfume or clothing brand, it’s has become a luxury product. The brand screams Mahira Khan due to it’s class, minimalism, and elegant touch. It’s not in your face, it’s not the most heavy but it’s comfortable and chic.
Many people complain it’s really expensive but hey, it’s literally Mahira’s brand! The superstar won’t be selling a brand attached to her name in mere cents so that nobody takes it serious. Also who wouldn’t pay extra for Mahira. I know I would.
Second on the list is the underdog Pakistani celebrity brand that’s killing the game quietly. Aijaz Aslam may not shout about his business from the rooftops, but his skincare and grooming brand has quality, consistency, and credibility.
The products are well-researched (he works with dermatologists!), and the pricing? Surprisingly fair.
Aiman Khan and her sister Minal Khan operate the AnM Closet clothing line. Their outfits are on-trend and photogenic and the brand has a strong vibe. But if we’re being honest, it’s overpriced for pret wear.
Like, do we really need to spend so much for a lawn kurta? That too while it is not a luxury brand to start with. Still, it delivers on quality and brand presence.
Sadaf Kanwal is the mother of the infamous Farshi Shalwar! Her line looks like it belongs on a high-end fashion ramp and there is no doubt that we love her for blessing us with the iconic Farshi Shalwar.
But what about the wearability of her clothes? Not sure if we can wear some of her pieces to Eid lunch with our dadi. Also, all of them seem pretty generic.
You’ve seen the ads. You’ve probably bought the rose water or a bottle of black seed oil once. WB Hemani (co-owned by news anchor Waseem Badami) is everywhere, but here’s the truth: It’s wildly inconsistent.
Some products are genuinely good, others feel like dollar-store fillers. The brand’s become bloated and it shows.
Supermodel Nadia Hussain’s brand is a one-woman show, literally. From makeup to salon tools to skincare, she’s doing it all.
But the problem? There’s no clear identity. The makeup lacks finesse, packaging is underwhelming, and it’s giving early-2000s vibes. You want to root for it, but it needs polish. Badly.
Some of these Pakistani celebs are just slapping their name on anything and hoping their followers will do the rest. But building a real brand takes vision, identity and consistency.
For Pakistani celebrities brands that didn’t succeed? Maybe their owners should stick to acting for now.

When it comes to cheesecakes, it is difficult to top Rina’s Kitchenette, whose Strawberry cheesecake is a hot favourite. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg!
Rina Kitchenette’s Banoffee pie has also received rave reviews. Achieving the delicate balance between thick whipped cream, sliced bananas, and caramel sauce, the dessert will certainly make your day.
This shouldn’t take away from their savoury menu, which is equally good. Their Smash burgers, pizzas, and pastas have also satisfied numerous customers.
If you love chocolate, Butlers Chocolate Café would be the closest thing to heaven on Earth. Located in Packages Mall and Gulberg, it is a specialist chocolatier that serves handmade chocolates, pastries, and sandwiches.
The Molten Lava Cake is worth a shot, even if you are not necessarily a chocolate lover. The signature cake is served warm and fresh with a scoop of ice cream, creating a unique flavour profile that leaves one’s mouth watering.
If you want to throw your friend a surprise birthday party, a Malt Cake or Nutella Cake from Layers will get the festivities started. To further sweeten their day, you could take them out for some ice cream from Sweet Crème.
For the exclusive chocolate lovers, Butlers Chocolate Café is the ideal option. A trip to Rina’s Kitchenette would serve cheesecake lovers well. To enjoy a nice vibe and have a sweet treat, The English Tea House is a good option.
The real beauty is that there is something for everyone, making Lahore the ideal haven for dessert lovers. With the roaring success of new bakeries, the business is likely to become more competitive and diverse, leading to even better options.

Recently, the passing of the beloved veteran actress Ayesha Khan sparked some unexpected backlash, particularly directed at her children. Many online commentators have suggested that her kids neglected her, leading to a painful wave of public scrutiny.
Bushra Ansari, a veteran actress and close friend of Ayesha, has stepped up to combat the misinformation. Drawing from her own experiences, Bushra shared, “In the last few days, I’ve come across so many false narratives surrounding Ayesha Khan’s death. She truly was a beautiful soul.”
Bushra didn’t hold back in her criticism of vloggers who spread these lies for clicks. She passionately called on people to stop creating stories that don’t reflect the truth.
Bushra Ansari Clarifies Ayesha’s Relationship with Her Children
Bushra shared a touching memory, recalling how she met Ayesha just before her passing. During that time, she asked Ayesha about her children, and Ayesha’s reply was heartfelt and filled with a sense of contentment.
“She told me she didn’t feel a connection while living abroad and preferred being in Pakistan,” Bushra shared. “She felt at peace here. When I asked her about financial matters, she smiled and said her children sent her enough money, so much that she had to put some away.”
Bushra noted that Ayesha never seemed upset or abandoned. Instead, she radiated a deep satisfaction with her life and the support she received from her kids.
“It’s just not fair,”Bushra emphasised, “to compare her life to a movie like Baghban or to claim that her children ignored her. Those kinds of accusations can really hurt her family.”
Call for Compassion and Prayers Instead of Judgment
Bushra also spoke out about the swirling rumours regarding the passing of Ayesha Khan. “There’s no way she died a whole week before the news came out,” she emphasised. “It might have been just a day or two, but not more. People need to stop speculating and start praying.”
In a heartfelt message, she urged everyone to honour the late actress’s memory. “Please don’t hurt her spirit with false stories. Pray for her forgiveness and peace.”
Rather than pointing fingers, Bushra called for compassion. She reminded everyone that grieving is already tough for families, and public scrutiny only adds to their pain.

The singer wanted to represent his nation with cricket on international grounds, and music was just a side hobby. Little did he know back then that he would still be able to represent his nation and become the pride of Pakistan more than some cricketers ever could.
Also, now that we are talking about becoming the pride of Pakistan, did you know that Atif Aslam has also been rewarded by Tamgha-e-Imtiaz(medal of distinction), the fourth-highest civilian honour from the Pakistani government in 2008. This happened when the singer was just 25, hence making him the youngest civilian to ever get this award.

3. Humayun Saeed

He also associated his early success to female actresses like Nadia Jamal and Sania Saeed who believed in him when no one did and decided to work with him on multiple projects.
Talking about women in Humayun’s life, did you know our veteran actor had a first love before his wife, whom he still seems to admire and talk about.
In an interview, he mentioned that he no longer loved the woman he was talking about because she betrayed him, he simultaneously also said that she was “very cute” and had “fantastic energy”.
Here are his own words about this old flame of love, “She was wild, she wanted to go to parties, go to the beach. She wanted to drive but did not know how to, so I would teach her. She had a different energy that I really liked… and she would pull me out [of my shyness].” Let’s just ignore how detailed of an explanation this seems.

Rishabh Pant is known for wearing his heart on his sleeve. But during the third day of the Headingley Test, that passion got him into a bit of hot water.
In the heat of England’s first innings on Day 3 of the India vs England Test at Headingley, Pant let his emotions spill over.
The 27-year-old wicketkeeper-batter was left visibly frustrated after the on-field umpires decided not to replace the ball following an inspection during the 61st over.
In a moment of dissent, Pant argued with the umpires and then tossed the ball to the ground—a move that didn’t go unnoticed.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) quickly stepped in, charging Pant with a Level 1 breach under Article 2.8 of the Code of Conduct, which pertains to “showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an international match.”
The Consequence
While the incident wasn’t serious enough to warrant a fine or suspension, Pant did receive an official reprimand and one demerit point—his first in the past 24 months.
The charge was brought forward by the match officials, including Paul Reiffel, Chris Gaffaney, Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, and Mike Burns. The sanction was confirmed by Richie Richardson from the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees.
Rishabh Pant accepted the charge and avoided a formal hearing by admitting to the breach.
Twin Centuries Overshadow the Controversy
While the reprimand made headlines, Pant’s bat did most of the talking at Headingley. The explosive left-hander became the first Indian wicketkeeper to score centuries in both innings of a Test match, leading India to a commanding position.
His double ton was more than just personal glory—it helped India set a formidable target of 371 runs for England, shifting the momentum in the visitors’ favor.
The Thin Line Between Fire and Fury
This wasn’t a scandal—it was a flash of competitive spirit from a player who thrives on intensity. And frankly, it’s what makes Pant such a thrilling watch. Yes, the rules exist for a reason. But anyone who’s watched Rishabh Pant knows his passion often spills into theatre—and occasionally, trouble.
Still, as long as he keeps scoring match-defining centuries, most fans (and maybe even some umpires) will forgive the occasional outburst.

Samsung has unveiled the Exynos 2500, its latest and most powerful mobile processor to date. It will reportedly fuel Samsung’s future foldables, such as the Galaxy Z Flip and high-end Galaxy S flagships.
Samsung has unveiled the Exynos 2500
First 3nm GAA Chip by Samsung
The Exynos 2500 is manufactured using Samsung’s 3nm GAA process. This process makes the chip physically smaller while also enhancing power efficiency and thermal management. The new chip is cooler and uses less power compared to the Exynos 2400, which is based on 4nm, making phones faster and more battery-efficient.
The new chip by Samsung comes with a 10-core CPU in a quad-cluster design. It comprises:
1 Cortex-X925 core at 3.3 GHz for performance
2 Cortex-A725 cores at 2.76 GHz
5 Cortex-A725 cores at 2.35 GHz
2 Cortex-A520 cores at 1.8 GHz
This configuration provides a 15% performance increase over the Exynos 2400 with enhanced multitasking, gaming, and app launch.
AMD-Powered Graphics
For graphics, the Exynos 2500 also features the Xclipse 950 GPU, based on AMD’s RDNA 3 architecture. It boasts 8 Work Group Processors and 8 Render Backends. Samsung describes this GPU as providing a 28% increase in frame rates and including hardware-accelerated ray tracing support.
Players can look forward to smoother graphics and more engaging play.
The chip features a new Neural Processing Unit (NPU) with 59 trillion operations per second (TOPS). That’s a significant leap from the last chip, making smarter on-device AI capabilities such as real-time translation, object identification, and voice control possible without cloud connection.

Camera and Connectivity Improvements
The Exynos 2500 can support up to 320MP cameras and can also record 8K video at 30 fps. It has improved noise reduction and Dynamic Range Compression, which should mean sharper and clearer images and videos.
Connectivity is also future-proofed. The chip supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 5G (sub-6GHz and mmWave), and even satellite-based messaging (NTN support). It also supports LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
Samsung is going all in on the Exynos 2500. With this processor, it’s not merely catching up; it’s attempting to take a giant leap. Smaller, quicker, and more intelligent, the 2500 might redefine the Android flagship scene in 2025 and beyond.

Senior Pakistani diplomat Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad told the UN Security Council that Pakistan faces a severe threat from Afghan terrorism. A UN-designated terrorist organisation with 6,000 combatants, Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP), runs openly from border areas near Pakistan. He further added that these havens directly undermine Pakistan’s security.
He spoke at the UN during a debate on Afghanistan’s circumstances, where he said that further regional unrest could result from Israeli strikes on Iran. “A refugee migration into nearby countries, including Afghanistan and Pakistan, might present major new difficulties,” he said.
He noted that ungoverned Afghan land is being employed by terrorist organisations, including AlQaeda, the TTP, and Baloch rebels for assaults. These locations let them design strategies directed at Pakistan. He said that this continuous presence presents a risk that has to be addressed seriously.
Pakistan has acquired several contemporary weapons from these organisations. These arms were originally left behind by foreign troops after the fall of Kabul four years ago, and according to Ambassador Asim, they reveal the long-term effects of that exit.
April saw an illustration of a major threat. Pakistani security forces killed 54 TTP militants attempting to penetrate Pakistan during that month. This event emphasises the extent of the threat from across the border, he observed.
He added, “We also have trustworthy evidence of cooperation between the TTP and other groups, namely the BLA and its Majeed Brigade.” These groups are collaborating to focus on plans for economic growth and strategic infrastructure. They aim to internally destabilise Pakistan.
Ambassador Asim noted that internal issues in Afghanistan are spreading into nearby countries. Since August 2021, Pakistan has seen an additional one million undocumented Afghan migrants.
Several regions have seen law-and-order issues arise from this population expansion. He begged the international community to help Pakistan bear this load.

Usman Khawaja, Australia’s 38-year-old opening stalwart, has dismissed retirement rumors with the same calm and confidence he’s known for at the crease.
Speaking from Barbados ahead of Australia’s upcoming two-Test series against the West Indies, Khawaja made it clear: he’s not going anywhere just yet.
“I understand I’m 38 years old, people will always look for an excuse,” Khawaja told reporters. “But I still have a role to play—opening the batting, providing a solid start, and setting up a platform for Australia.”
And it’s not just about runs anymore. With David Warner’s retirement leaving a vacancy at the top, Khawaja’s role has evolved into that of a mentor. His new opening partner, 19-year-old Sam Konstas, is set to make just his third Test appearance, and Khawaja is keen to guide the young prodigy through the rigours of international cricket.
“With young Sammy coming in, it’s an added role for me—helping him through his journey and passing on knowledge,” Khawaja said. “It’s important to build some stability at the top and guide him while I can.”
Brushing Off the Criticism
Of course, with age comes scrutiny, particularly around performance. Critics have pointed out Khawaja’s dip in returns against seam bowling, citing his average of 25.29 against pace since January 2024, slightly below the global average of 27.84 for openers. But the left-hander isn’t fazed.
“I don’t understand how people say I struggle against seam if I’ve scored so many runs in Shield cricket and been Australia’s top scorer in the WTC,” he said with a smile.
“As an opener, you face the new ball every time—that’s just the nature of the job. I wish I could face more spin.”
No Farewell Tour Just Yet
With whispers growing that the Sydney Test at the end of the Ashes could be his final hurrah, Usman Khawaja remains grounded and unbothered.
“I’m not someone saying I want to play another 10 years,” he clarified.
“It’s about what’s best for the team. I could have stopped two years ago, but I knew I was still contributing. When that changes, everyone will know.”

In a world often divided by boundaries, sport continues to unite. During Nottinghamshire’s County Championship match against Yorkshire, Pakistan’s Mohammad Abbas and India’s Ishan Kishan came together in a celebration that broke the internet.
A Message Beyond Cricket
It happened when Abbas dismissed Yorkshire opener Adam Lyth for a duck, with Kishan taking a sharp catch behind the stumps. But what followed was something you don’t see every day: a genuine handshake, a warm hug, and broad smiles between the two players.
In a sport often defined by fierce rivalries—especially between India and Pakistan—this was a refreshing reminder of the camaraderie that cricket can build.
“This is the Beauty of County Cricket”
The moment was captured by Nottinghamshire’s social media team and, within minutes, fans from both nations were sharing it across platforms.
“This is the true beauty of county cricket. I love and admire this game for moments like these,” one fan, Khawaja Naeem Akbar, commented.
Another wrote that watching Abbas and Kishan play and celebrate together had “increased respect for both players”—a sentiment echoed across countless fan accounts.
Some called it “special.” Others simply called it “beautiful.”
More Than Just a Moment
Of course, it wasn’t just about the celebration. Both Mohammad Abbas and Ishan Kishan backed up the feel-good moment with strong performances.
Ishan Kishan smashed a fluent 87 off 98 balls, peppered with 12 boundaries and a six, showcasing his aggressive flair and form.
Mohammad Abbas, known for his precision, returned tidy figures of 1 for 19 in 10 overs, including four maidens—a typically disciplined outing from the veteran pacer.
Interestingly, this might not be the last such partnership we see this season.
India’s Ruturaj Gaikwad is expected to join Yorkshire in July. Pakistan’s Abdullah Shafique has also signed with the same club, pending visa clearance.
If and when that happens, English county cricket could become a stage for more cross-border collaborations, proving once again that cricket can be both competitive and compassionate.

US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the ceasefire between Iran and Israel is “NOW IN EFFECT.” He wrote on his Truth Social platform, “THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!” Trump said the truce would begin in phases starting around 0400 GMT Tuesday.
He explained that Iran would stop its operations first, and Israel would follow 12 hours later. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed this and said Iran continued military actions until exactly 4 am. “The military operations of our powerful Armed Forces to punish Israel for its aggression continued until the very last minute, at 4 am,” Araghchi posted on X.
He thanked Iran’s forces for their efforts. “Together with all Iranians, I thank our brave Armed Forces who remain ready to defend our dear country until their last drop of blood, and who responded to any attack by the enemy until the very last minute,” he added.
On Monday, Trump announced a complete ceasefire and said it could end the 12-day war. He also praised both countries. “On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both countries, Israel and Iran, on having the stamina, courage, and intelligence to end, what should be called, ‘THE 12 DAY WAR’,” he wrote.
However, Israel has not confirmed the ceasefire. The Israeli military said Iran launched two volleys of missiles early Tuesday. Witnesses in Tel Aviv and Beersheba heard explosions shortly after the ceasefire deadline.
Israeli media reported that a missile hit a building in Beersheba, killing three people. This attack happened even after the ceasefire time had passed. The US and Israel had attacked Iran’s nuclear sites over the weekend.
Washington claimed Tehran was close to building a nuclear weapon. Iran and Israel exchanged missiles just before the truce deadline. The last strikes came moments before the agreed halt at 4 am, but Israel hasn’t said if it stopped firing.

Talha Anjum was caught in the crossfire of a recent controversy, yet again, that has evoked mixed responses on social media, with many coming out in support of him and others condemning his actions.
Last week, a fan reportedly threw a bottle at the Young Stunners’ star during a concert, prompting a stark response from the rapper. Anjum pointed out the offender, brought him on stage, and had security drag him out of sight. This, however, wasn’t the first time such a thing had happened to the singer.
In the past, the Young Stunner has been hit by bottles at his concerts and ended up leaving the stage or responding aggressively. Despite one’s like or dislike for an artist, throwing objects at them mid-concert is simply immoral and unjustified.
This needs to stop!
A Recurring Pattern
While physical violence is the most extreme form, celebrities in Pakistan are constantly subjected to judgment, ridicule, and harassment over the most trivial matters. Their smallest mistakes are often blown out of proportion and treated as grave offences.
Take actress Meera, for instance; she has been relentlessly mocked for years over her English mispronunciations. Similarly, star cricketer Muhammad Rizwan has been targeted by meme culture on social media for comparable reasons.
Celebrities who publicly express political views, such as Shahid Afridi, often face backlash from supporters of opposing parties. As public figures, their private lives are frequently exposed, misinterpreted, and harshly judged.
But perhaps the most cruel form of ridicule is when it happens in front of a live audience, while they’re performing. Talha Anjum has been subjected to this kind of public humiliation time and again.
Keyboard warriors are too keen to attack celebrities every chance they get. Some overzealous people take matters to the extreme by physically targeting artists or taking unwarranted personal shots.
Art and entertainment are essential components of a cultural system. First and foremost, it is important to distinguish the art from the artist and acknowledge the fact that all celebrities are humans, which entitles them to a set of basic rights that are accorded to every citizen.
Their right to privacy, their political opinions, and their personal lives should be respected. Most of all, when they are out in public, performing, one needs to be courteous or leave if they feel the need to throw objects at them.
A less judgmental public environment where celebrities are allowed to be themselves would cultivate growth in the entertainment industry. Unconventional artists who don’t fit traditional stereotypes will gain motivation to perform on a larger scale.
As a result, the industry will flourish, and Pakistan will become a more inclusive country for the cultivation of art.
