The second phase of stadium renovation at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi will begin right after the HBL Pakistan Super League Season 10 ends. As per early reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will launch a complete reprofiling of the stadium stands, followed by a wide-scale redevelopment project.

This upgrade aims to bring the stadium’s infrastructure up to international standards and make it a more welcoming venue for both local and international matches. The decision comes after a notably low turnout during HBL PSL 2025 matches in Karachi, which many fans and stakeholders linked to outdated facilities and a poor spectator experience. Authorities are now moving fast to address these problems.

The renovation includes redesigning all seating areas with better comfort, spacing and improved sightlines. Architectural updates will also focus on giving the stadium a modern look while maintaining its historical importance.

Improved Access and Safety Measures

PCB is also restructuring the stadium’s entry and exit routes to make crowd flow smoother, improve safety, and cut down on congestion. Parking will be reorganized with designated zones to fix the long-standing issues faced by visitors, especially on match days.

While the PCB has not shared a fixed timeline for completing the renovation, sources confirm that work will begin right after the league ends. The planned changes reflect the PCB’s commitment to improve the stadium environment, ensuring a better experience for spectators, teams and officials.

By focusing on comfort, aesthetics, safety, and accessibility in the second phase of stadium renovation, PCB hopes to attract larger crowds in future events and restore the stadium’s reputation as one of the country’s top cricket venues.
