Karachi Gateway Terminal Multipurpose Limited (KGTML) recently held a session with the Pakistan Business Council (PBC), led by Khurram Aziz Khan, CEO KGTML, bringing together exporters and industry stakeholders to discuss enhancing Pakistan’s trade ecosystem, particularly in dry bulk handling.
As government initiatives increasingly focus on streamlining logistics and improving port connectivity, KGTML is emerging as a key player through its specialized, value-added bulk terminal. Strategic infrastructure investments and operational upgrades aim to accelerate dry bulk exports by minimizing logistical bottlenecks.
The session also underscored the value KGTML is already delivering to trade through operational improvements. In addition, the strategic expansion projects underway, which combines infrastructure upgrades with enhanced vessel handling capabilities, are seen as a potential game changer for bulk handling in Pakistan. These enhancements will transform KGTML into a state-of-the-art handling facility, aligning with international best practices, as they will optimize freight costs significantly for the trade, enabling faster vessel turnaround and accommodating larger vessels.
The business community welcomed KGTML’s role in supporting export-led growth, underscoring its strategic importance in Pakistan’s evolving trade landscape.
