Billionaire Jeff Bezos (founder of Amazon) and Lauren Sánchez (Emmy-winning journalist) has kicked off in a three-day luxury wedding celebration in Venice from June 26–28 with a series of pre-events taking place in the days leading up to it.

The three-day affair is expected to take place from Thursday to Saturday, with some 200 guests joining in.
Jeff Bezos wedding events are expected to cost some 40-48 million euros ($46.5-55.6 million), earning it a spot among the most expensive weddings in history.
To ensure smooth logistics, at least 30 private water taxis have been hired to ferry guests across Venice’s canals. In addition, 90 private jets have flown in dignitaries from around the world.
Initially planned at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia in Cannaregio, the venue shifted to the storied Arsenale complex due to protest and security scrambles. This old maritime hub is surrounded by water and is reachable only when bridges are down.
On June 26, the couple touched down via helicopter at Lido and took boats to the Aman Hotel. That evening, they joined guests for a welcome party at the Madonna dell’Orto church, setting the tone for an upcoming whirlwind of themed festivities.
The extravaganza’s tentpole event is expected tonight on the island of San Giorgio, according to Reuters. After the trip to the moon with Katy Perry, it is the second time Jeff Bezos’s now wife has made headlines in this year.
A spokesperson for the mayor of Venice told the press that the city is prepared to host: “Only 200 guests will have been invited and therefore it will be easy for Venice to accommodate such an event, without any disruption whatsoever to the city, its residents and visitors,” he said.

Most of the recipients of those aforementioned 200 invites are still unknown. However, some are spotted in Venice on Thursday hinting at the possible guest list.
Multiple members of the Kardashian clan — Kim, Khloé, Kylie, and Kendall, as well as Kris Jenner and her partner Corey Gamble — alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and his partner Vittoria Ceretti, Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Diane von Fürstenberg, and Queen Rania of Jordan.
By Thursday afternoon, celebrity guests were seen leaving the Gritti Palace Hotel, dressed up for the first evening’s events.
