The city of lights, Karachi is all set to go green as National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) has kick-started its “Green Karachi” campaign.  Around  15,000 more trees will be planted in various parts of the metropolis.

Korea Green Foundation is supporting NFEH’s noble cause. The campaign is currently in its third phase and around 300,000 trees have already been planted till date. Neem trees have been specifically chosen for plantation all over the city.

The drive will continue till September. Educational institutions, industrial areas, and parks will be priority places for the Green Karachi initiative.

What is more, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) is teaming up with Defence Housing Authority (DHA) to commence a similar plantation drive “Greener DHA” from July 25 .

Around 25,000 saplings will be planted within DHA and 100,000 seeds will be sown in different projects of DHA City.
