Fakhar Zaman, the name synonymous with big innings and game-changing moments, has found himself at the centre of yet another cricketing debate. This time, the buzz revolves around his absence from Pakistan’s squad for the South Africa tour. With fans speculating everything from fitness concerns to selection bias, Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan’s white-ball captain, has stepped forward to address the situation.

“It’s Not Personal”

In a candid video released by the PCB, Rizwan squashed any notions of bias or unfair treatment towards Fakhar. “I think the whole of Pakistan knows Fakhar Zaman,” he said, adding that Fakhar remains an integral part of Pakistan’s cricketing plans.

Describing Fakhar as a “character” and a “game-changer,” Rizwan emphasized that everyone on the team is rooting for his return. “There’s nothing personal against him—everyone is hopeful about him,” he explained.

Health Concerns Behind Omission

Contrary to popular belief, Rizwan clarified that Fakhar’s exclusion wasn’t just about fitness. “It’s not like he failed a fitness test,” Rizwan revealed. Instead, he shared that Fakhar has been battling a viral fever, which has kept him from participating fully.

“He’s unwell with something like a viral fever,” Rizwan explained. To ensure Fakhar’s recovery, the management has encouraged him to focus on the ongoing T20 tournament in Pakistan.

Rizwan also expressed his confidence in the medical team. “God forbid, if anything serious happens, the doctors will look after him properly,” he added, reassuring fans that Fakhar’s health is a top priority.

For fans, Fakhar Zaman’s absence is undoubtedly a hard pill to swallow. His explosive batting and ability to turn games in Pakistan’s favour have made him a fan favourite. But as Mohammad Rizwan pointed out, this is just a temporary setback.

For now, let’s trust the process and hope for the best. After all, as Rizwan rightly put it, “Fakhar Zaman is something different for Pakistan.”
