Citizens of Pakistan were urged by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to register their mobile phones on Device Identification, Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS) to curb illegal buying and selling of phones and their circulation in the market.
However, PTA has shared that those individuals who have phones with dual SIM slots need to register both IMEI numbers before 31st August or else the second slot will be blocked.
In order to register your device’s 2nd IMEI number, follow the given steps:
- Send an email to email@example.com with the following:
- Screenshot of the device showing all programmed IMEI
- Screenshot of device box showing IMEI(s)
- Copy of CNIC
- Contact details of applicants
Your request will be evaluated accordingly. After 31st August, the 2nd IMEI number will not be acceptable for registration.
For those who are unsure of their IMEI numbers, they can simply dial *#06# from their number pad and then SMS the 15-digit number to 8484 to know the status.
