Has it ever happened to you that you heard something that sounds so made-up and fake that you just couldn’t believe it, but it turned out to be true?
In this article, we will look at six completely unbelievable facts that are, in fact, true. Lets take a look.
1. Nintendo Was Founded in 1889… Before Zipper Was Invented
Can you believe Nintendo is that old? It was founded by Fusajiro Yamauchi in Kyoto, Japan, back in 1889, and it actually started out as a playing card company. Then in the 1960s, Nintendo started branching out into toys, stuff like the Ultra Hand. And by the 1970s, they were getting into video games: first by teaming up to make optical guns for the Magnavox Odyssey, and later by making their own electronic games.

2. Netflix Was Founded A Year Before Google
Netflix was founded in 1997 by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph, and it first launched as a DVD-by-mail rental service in April 1998, nearly a decade before it introduced streaming in 2007. Google, on the other hand, was created in 1998 by American computer scientists Larry Page and Sergey Brin, meaning the world’s biggest streaming giant is technically older than the world’s most popular search engine.

3. The Whole State of Wyoming Has Only Two Escalators
Wyoming is full of surprises: the entire state reportedly has only two escalators! Both are in Casper, located inside banks, one at Hilltop National Bank and the other at First Interstate Bank. This quirky fact is often linked to Wyoming’s low population, plenty of space for spread-out buildings, and strict fire codes that tend to favor elevators and staircases, making escalators an unusually rare sight in the “Cowboy State.”

4. Jimmy Carter Once Sent Nuclear Codes To Cleaners
Can you believe something as sensitive as U.S. nuclear launch materials once went missing and allegedly ended up in the most ordinary of places? During Jimmy Carter’s presidency, a security scare erupted when documents linked to nuclear command procedures were reported lost after the president misplaced a suit that was sent to the dry cleaners. While the exact contents and location have been debated over the years, the incident triggered an immediate security response, including internal investigations and emergency safeguards to ensure the country’s nuclear systems were not compromised.

5. The Entire World’s Population Can Fit In Texas
If the entire world’s population stood shoulder-to-shoulder, they could technically fit inside Texas! Of course, this is purely a mathematical thought experiment, there’s no way the infrastructure, resources, or space for real living would support everyone actually being there. Still, it’s a fun (and slightly mind-blowing) way to picture just how massive Texas really is, that you can even imagine fitting all of humanity within its borders.

6. Bananas Are Berries… But Strawberries Are Not
Botanically speaking, Bananas are berries and strawberries are not! Bananas develop from a single flower’s ovary, has soft skin and fleshy insides with tiny seeds, fitting the scientific definition of a berry. While we usually think berries are small fruits, it’s not actually true because strawberries are not berries. You can tell that because strawberries have seeds on the outside unlike a typical berry.

Are you blown away by these facts, because we certainly are. Guess we learn something new everyday.
