Nabeel Qureshi Discusses His Initial Vision
Nabeel Qureshi shared his creative process behind Zombeid in a live session. He said he wanted the film to be more of a survival thriller than a traditional comedy.
He said that serious films are made less often, but he wanted to see if people would accept a darker, more intense story. But there is humour in the film, and he explained that he kept it to a minimum on purpose.
“Main chahata tha ki ye survival thriller ho. Serious movies kam banti hain aur main thora sa comedy se deviate karna chahta tha,’ he said.
The director also revealed that he cut several funny scenes from the final version. One of the most memorable ideas featured a character running on a treadmill with the famous song “Aag Lagay Basti Mai, Hum Hain Apni Masti Mai” playing in the background.
Why Some of the Comedy Scenes Were Cut
“There were many light-hearted moments that happened during the shoot,” said Nabeel Qureshi. However, he later decided to remove some of the comedic sequences, as they were detrimental to the horror atmosphere he wanted to create.
He wanted to bring about an atmosphere of suspense and terror in the story. He felt too much humour could break the tension and lessen the viewers’ experience.
It seems like the right move, as Zombeid has been praised by fans for being able to blend horror, suspense and entertainment, all while keeping the storyline engaging.
Zombeid 2 Hare Driving Fans Crazy
The biggest revelation came when Nabeel Qureshi talked about his early ideas for Zombeid 2. His comments immediately ignited speculation on social media.
The filmmaker said he imagined the sequel beginning with the sound of a helicopter. At the same time, you’d hear Mani’s voice, a dramatic continuation of the story.

A Bigger And More Bloody Zombie Apocalypse

The imagery instantly caught the fans’ attention. Take a zombie apocalypse, mix it with the already intense Bakra Eid, and you might just have one of the most unique horror settings ever seen in Pakistani cinema.
Should these ideas come to fruition, Zombeid 2 could be larger, darker, and far more frightening than the predecessor.
