BLACKPINK’s Lisa Receives Backlash Over Controversial Met Gala 2025 Outfit Featuring Rosa Parks Imagery

After her Met Gala 2025 debut on May 5, BLACKPINK’s Lisa faced major backlash. The 28-year-old wore Louis Vuitton sheer tights, a black blazer, and statement underwear. Viewers quickly noticed that the underwear had images of Rosa Parks printed on them, sparking outrage online.

Many felt this was deeply disrespectful, especially given the theme of the night, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which aimed to celebrate Black fashion and history.

One user wrote, “So you get exposed for saying nigga, don’t acknowledge it and then pop up to a black people themed event with rosa parks on your moose knuckle?” (@Ieophobe). Another tweeted, Rosa Parks finna be trending on here for wrong reason, oh lord…” (@prodby_moonie).

More reactions included:

“Lisa, after wearing them Rosa Parks panties:” (@Donut_Crazs)

“Using Rosa Parks’ image in this way just feels so blatantly disrespectful and insensitive…” (@vnteex)

“I know Lisa does not have Rosa Parks all over her underwear right now. WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?” (@bhloverrr)

“Does she feel so on top that she can disrespect a whole race not even once and… then put Rosa Parks on her panties tf??” (@tansluvr)

The backlash worsened after old clips resurfaced. They reportedly showed Lisa and other BLACKPINK members using the n-word during pre-debut performances. None of them has spoken about the videos.

Still, some fans praised her look. They called her outfit bold and glamorous and said her makeup and hair were stunning.

So far, neither Lisa nor Louis Vuitton has released a statement about the controversy.
