Adorned in a stunning Sabyasachi saree paired with elaborate gold jewellry, the Pakistani politician showcased her festive spirit by sharing pictures of herself enjoying the festivities with sparklers.
The PPP leader was also accompanied by her husband Hasham Riaz Sheikh, a former Wall Street investment banker and advisor to the former President Asif Ali Zardari.
However, the politician’s enthusiasm for foreign traditions didn’t sit well with netizens, who questioned her choices and expressed displeasure over what they perceived as an appropriation of cultural practices.

“Dare to wear the foolish clown face ? I may look funny but my intentions are far from it,” the PPP leader captioned the picture.
