Google has updated its AI system limits after users raised concerns about restrictions on Gemini. The changes have mostly focused on its coding tool called Antigravity, where usage limits increased twice in a very short time.
The new limits came after announcements at Google I/O. It confirmed that Gemini would move to compute-based usage limits across different tools. This change already caused frustration, as users felt the new caps were too strict.
Antigravity Users Feel Sudden Pressure
Inside Antigravity, which is Google’s AI-powered coding tool, many users quickly noticed the impact. Some said that they hit their limits within just an hour of work. This was very different from their earlier experience.
Due to this feedback, Google acted quickly. On Wednesday, the company increased Gemini model rate limits for Antigravity by three times. It also reset weekly usage quotas for all users. This happened right after the new system went live, as many developers hit restrictions much sooner than expected.
Google Reacts with Repeated Upgrades
Then the situation, however, changed again soon after. Google increased the weekly quota by three times once more. This second update came within the same week. It shows how quickly the company is reacting to user feedback.
Varun Mohan, who works on Antigravity at DeepMind, said users were reaching their weekly limits after only a couple of work sessions. He also confirmed that Google reset quotas again for paid users after the latest adjustment.
Even with these increases, users still notice a difference compared to earlier limits. Many point out that the current system is still more restrictive than before the changes.
The updates only apply to Antigravity for now. Other Gemini tools and services still have the same usage limits. This means the broader system has not changed yet.
The changes show how Google is trying to balance strong demand for AI tools with system capacity.
