Love eating out? Well, then this bit of news might not sit well with you. On Tuesday, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed four food eateries – including two restaurants in Lahore.
As per the reports, following food businesses have been sealed by PFA:
- Taipei Restaurant
- Tuscany Restaurant
- Dairy Section of Gourmet Foods
- Pizza and sweets section of Gourmet Foods
Wondering just what exactly led to this extreme action?
Apparently, the Taipei restaurant’s usage of expired products, unsatisfactory hygiene, the presence of insects and several other issues led to the closure of the eatery.
Tuscany restaurant came under fire for using rancid oil and improper labeling of food ingredients. What’s more, the preserved food items were found placed on the ground.
The dairy section of Gourmet Foods located in Sundar Industrial Estate was sealed for not complying with food safety standards.
The pizza and sweets section of Gourmet Foods located in Bhobhatian Chowk too was sealed.
The presence of pests and unhygienic conditions in both the section compelled PFA to seal the businesses.
