According to a report by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), twenty people lost their lives and ten others got injured during the ongoing heavy rains and floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The PDMA said that rain-related accidents in several province regions caused these losses and deaths. According to the report, 57 homes were destroyed in this storm. Among these, six were completely destroyed and fifty-one were somewhat damaged.

The PDMA verified damage to two additional structures as well. It further stated that the families impacted by the rain had received compensation.

Among the victims were eight children, five women, and six men. The total number of deaths later reached 20, and the number of injured people increased to ten.

The most severely affected region was reported as swat. Thirteen people died and six were injured. Furthermore, six homes were totally ruined and fifty were partially destroyed.

Seventeen people were carried away by a flash flood in River Swat Friday morning. Financial aid for the families of those killed in the disaster has been promised by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration. According to the spokesperson for the Chief Minister of KP, the family of the dead will each get financial compensation of Rs1 million.

Several government officials have been suspended for carelessness connected with the event.

An inquiry has also been started. To look into the incident, the CM has appointed an investigation committee. The investigation will be headed by the chief of the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team, according the spokesperson.
