Mahnoor Baloch, in her recent interview, talked about playing the role of a grandmother and how stereotypical casting has become a norm in the industry.

The veteran actress recently appeared in Hasna Mana Ha hosted by Tabish Hashmi. While responding to a series of questions asked by the audience the actress shared her thoughts about aging and playing older characters. As a question asked by a fan “If god forbid you were to turn old, would you like to play the role of a grandmother in a serial?”

Baloch is known for not aging over the years. While maintaining her youthful look even after decades of working in the industry. The signs of aging can’t seem to get to her and the secret behind her beauty is a question most often asked about by the interviewers. For Mahnoor, however, aging doesn’t come as a shock. As she thinks that it isn’t something that one should fear at all.
“This is a good question. The problem here in the industry is that people tend to cast stereotyped roles. If I have done a role once at twenty-seven, then I’m asked again to appear in that same role. If I have already done it once, why would I want to do it again? The problem isn’t in the role. Why would I decline them.”
“I believe aging isn’t a big issue and we shouldn’t look at it in a manner which sounds fearful to us. However, with time if I think that there has been a change in the industry and I see a difference in storylines for women in that age group then why not?” She added.
