Former Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim recently added fuel to the fiery debate surrounding the batting prowess of Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, firmly throwing his support behind his former teammate.

The comparison between Babar Azam and Virat Kohli, two modern-day greats hailed for their exceptional batting skills, has long been a topic of discussion among fans and pundits alike.

Despite the ongoing debate, both batsmen have carved out remarkable careers and left an indelible mark on the gentlemen’s game.

During an interview with local media, Wasim articulated his preference for Babar Azam, highlighting the star’s distinguished service to Pakistan with dignity and pride.

“I would go Babar Azam. He’s our nation’s pride. We can criticise him, we can say things about him in the right way that he becomes an amazing player,” said Wasim.

“But, he has served Pakistan with dignity & pride for a long time. He’s our pride.”

Imad Wasim also opined that the new opening pair of Saim Ayub and Mohammad Rizwan should be given a fair run with patience and support.

“Look, they’re still new. You can’t judge them based on three, two, three, four games. If you want to change the opening stand, give them a fair run,” stated Wasim.

However, he proposed the option of reverting to the proven partnership of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan at the top if the new duo fails to deliver in the forthcoming matches.
