President Donald Trump sounded out his position on Air Force One: He does not desire a ceasefire; rather, he seeks a “real end” to the Iran-Israel war. As hostilities entered their sixth consecutive day, Trump moved away from any attempt to halt violence.

โ€œIโ€™m not looking for a ceasefire,โ€ he told reporters. โ€œWeโ€™re looking at better than a ceasefire.โ€ His words signal a hardline shift as tensions in the Middle East spiral. He emphasised again: โ€œIran cannot have a nuclear weapon.โ€

Social Media Post Rejects Peace Deal Claims

Previously, on Truth Social, Trump rejected claims that he had departed the G7 summit in Canada to conduct peace talks. “I have not contacted Iran for ‘Peace Talks’ in any fashion, shape, or form,” he wrote. “If they wish to discuss, they know how to contact me.”

Trump also criticised Iran for turning down an earlier offer. “They should have taken the deal that was on the table โ€“ Would have saved a lot of lives!!!”

Cancelled Talks and Increased Firepower

A sixth round of nuclear U.S.-Iran talks had been planned for Sunday in Oman. Iran called it off following Israel’s surprise aerial campaign on Friday. Tehran blamed Washington for facilitating the attacks.

“The other side conducted themselves in such a way that dialogue becomes meaningless,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei explained. “You cannot claim to negotiate and let the Zionist regime attack Iran’s territory.”

Trump Shifts from Caution to Praise

Weeks prior to the airstrikes, Trump publicly questioned an Israeli assault. He favoured diplomacy, but once Israel went ahead with its attack, his language shifted. He now refers to the shelling as “excellent.” He also speculates that it might be used as leverage in future talks.

Total Control, or Total Chaos

Trump last week asserted that the U.S. has “complete control” of the skies over Iran. Iran disagrees and continues retaliatory bombing. The Middle East is on edge. Experts caution that the conflict could escalate into a bigger regional war.

Even as danger increases, Trump seems intent on gaining complete dominance rather than a temporary peace. The White House isn’t seeking talks now, it’s seeking outcomes. In Trump’s words, that entails terminating the war on America’s terms.
