In August 2024, the two powerful men discussed the creation of a commission to improve government efficiency and Musk’s potential inclusion in such a role. Two months later, the owner of X publicly appeared with Trump wearing a black “Make America Great Again” shirt.
Towards the end of the year, the pair grew extremely close, spending almost every day together. This friendship translated into a powerful political alliance with the formation of the independent advisory group, Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
DOGE was spearheaded by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy. The tech billionaire claimed that he had saved the government $175 billion, far short of his initial promise.
Both men were sailing on smooth waters till Musk’s departure from the White House. However, the climax came in June on X. The owner of the platform blasted Trump’s controversial “Big Beautiful Bill,” a statement that disappointed President Trump.
Elon Musk Has Formed A Political Party
Elon Musk was visibly disturbed by Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill.” His disapproval was such that the legislation led him to form the America Party on July 5.
This breaks the two-party system and heralds a complete dissociation from President Trump. The America Party promotes fiscal conservatism, energy-forward policies, debt reduction, and the struggle for freedom.
