Taylor Swift Named in the ‘It Ends With Us’ Lawsuit!

In a shocking turn of events, Taylor Swift has been drawn into a hotly contested court battle between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. The war, which surrounds the movie It Ends With Us, now involves a subpoena to the international music superstar. Swift’s camp deems it a publicity stunt.

Why is Swift Involved?

Most Swifties have been wondering the same thing: Why is Taylor Involved?

Baldoni sued for 179 pages in January 2025. Among the documents, he included text messages in which Swift’s name was mentioned. One of the messages said, “I really love what you did. I would have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor.” Another one, purportedly from Lively, likened herself to Game of Thrones character Daenerys. She explained that her “dragons”–presumed to refer to Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Swift—defend the people she battles for. That was enough for Baldoni’s legal team to subpoena Swift as a witness.

Swift Pushes Back

Swift’s spokesperson denied any deep involvement. “She never set foot on the set,” the statement said. “didn’t help cast, edit, or direct. She only licensed one song.” The statement called the subpoena “tabloid clickbait” and accused Baldoni’s team of using her name for attention.

Lively’s crew wasn’t silent either. They blamed Baldoni for taking a serious harassment case and turning it into a media spectacle. “This is not Barnum and Bailey’s,” her rep said. “This is about women’s rights and reputations.”

Lively sued Baldoni in December 2024 for sexual harassment and retaliation. She said he attempted to ruin her reputation. Baldoni sued Lively and Reynolds for defamation and civil extortion in response. He’s seeking $400 million in damages.

Lively’s attorney, Mike Gottlieb, said she will testify. “She’s ready to testify under oath,” he said. The trial is set for March 2026.

Meanwhile, Swift’s camp is holding its ground. Her representatives claim she wasn’t involved in the creative process and viewed the film only after it came out. “This has nothing to do with Taylor,” her rep maintained.

As the courtroom saga plays out, one thing is certain—this case is hardly finished. And now, one of the world’s largest stars, Taylor Swift, is in the middle of it all.
